HAVE A GM RECALL FROM JULY 2016 ON REPLACING FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. CONTACTED GM RECENTLY AND WAS TOLD THAT RECALL INCOMPLETE BECAUSE GM HAS NOT HEARD FROM INFORMATION FROM NHTSA REGARDING PETITION FOR INCONSEQUENTIALLY. SO HOW ARE WE TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND INSURE THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE SAFE IF DEPLOYED? CONSUMER IS BEING LEFT BEHIND ON THIS ISSUE OF SAFETY AND GM AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ARE DOING NOTHING FOR OVER 4 YEARS NOW. THIS ISSUE WITH GM NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND CONSUMERS SAFETY TAKEN SERIOUSLY. NO MORE GM PRODUCTS FOR THIS HOUSEHOLD, AS THEY ARE PASSING THE BUCK AND NOT LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR CONSUMERS. AND GOV'T (NHTSA) ISN'T MOVING QUICKLY ON THIS ISSUE EITHER.
I WAS NOTIFIED IN JULY 2016 OF A RECALL OF MY 2008 CHEVY SILVERADO FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. SO FAR I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED? I THINK 4-1/2 YEARS IS LONG ENOUGH.

DASH BOARD CRACKING. DASH HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE. NOW NEW DASH HAS CRACKED IN SAME LOCATION AS THE FIRST. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BUT GM WILL NOT RECALL THIS DEFECT.

MY DASH HAS THREE CRACKS COMPLETELY ACROSS THE MIDDLE, AND A CRACK ON EACH SIDE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF DRIVER SIDE AND ALSO DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF PASSENGER SIDE RIGHT IN CORNER AROUND AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. WHICH MY CONCERN IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD! MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN PARKING LOT, IN SHADED AREA. I WENT INTO STORE, RETURNED APRX. 30 MINUTES AND SAW CRACKS. THEY WERE NOT THERE WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE TO GO IN STORE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR WAS INSTALLED TOO TIGHT, WHICH CAUSED IT TO FRACTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,569.

VEHICLE BEGAN TO KNOCK AND IDLE ROUGH. NOTICED WHILE IN STATIONARY MODE ON A CITY STREET. VEHICLE IS MISFIRING IN CYLINDER 1. ENGINE HAS A HISTORY OF BEATING UP ITS CAM SHAFT AND LIFTERS.

TAKATA INFLATORS. IN JUNE OF 2016, THE WARNING LIGHT FOR AN AIRBAG SYSTEM FUNCTION CAME ON. I HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE SENSORS THAT HAD MALFUNTIONED NEAR THE FRONT BUMPER THAT ACTIVATES THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS - AT MY OWN EXPENSE. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND A LOT OF OWNERS OF SIMILAR SILVERADOS EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PART PROBLEM. THEN, I RECEIVED GM RECALL 49152 IN JULY, 2016 STATING THAT "THE PROPELLANT IN SOME TYPES OF TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG-TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. IF THE PROPELLANT DEGRADES TO A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE INFLATORS MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES". SINCE I LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA AND THE TRUCK STAYS PARKED OUTSIDE 24/7, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND ANYONE RIDING WITH ME. WHILE WHAT HAS BEEN WARNED HAS NOT OCCURRED YET, I'M CONCERNED THAT IT COULD AT ANY TIME - ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HOW THE MANY OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SENSORS LIKE MINE THAT WENT BAD SEEM TO BE FAULTY.

THE ENGINE DIED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH. POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE LOST MAKING THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I MANAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY AND HAD IT TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE DIE OUT WAS FOUND TO BE AN INTERNAL FAULT IN THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE.

TAKATA RECALL. WHY IS GENERAL MOTORS NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM. FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY ARE AWAITING PARTS. NOW, THEY ARE SAYING IT'S NOT A PROBLEM. HAVE THE ATTORNEYS DECIDED IT'S CHEAPER TO PAY WHAT MAY BE JUST A FEW CLAIMS RATHER THAN FIX THE PROBLEM ON ALL VEHICLES INVOLVED. NOW THAT TAKATA IS IN CHAPTER 11 IS GM WASHING THERE HANDS OF THIS AND CHOOSING NOT TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT? I HAVE TO DATE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG. PLEASE ADVISE ME AS WHAT ACTION I CAN TAKE TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT SHORT OF HAVING TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY.

DASH HAS FOUR CRACKS IN IT AND GM KNOWS IT IS A PROBLEM AND WILL NOT RECALL. THEY WANT $750 TO FIX A CRACKED DASH THAT SPLIT IN TWO.
