STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOING OFF WITH BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ROUGH IDLE, ON A HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENED ON FEBRUARY 3 2019
MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKS ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AFFECTS THE AIRBAG AND THE ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAS A RUN THAT WON'T STOP. *TR
GM HAS TO DATE FAILED TO RESOLVE THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL ON MY VEHICLE
O'REILLY CHEVROLET DEALER LISTED ON RECALL WAS CONTACTED WITH ALMOST RIDICULOUS RESULTS. FIRST PHONE CALL WAS TOLD PERSON WHO HANDLED RECALLS WAS OU, WOULD RETURN CALL, NEVER HAPPENED. CALLED LATER SAME PERSON SAID THEY WOULD ASSIST BUT I NEEDED A RECALL NUMBER. I HAD NO SUCH NUMBER BUT I DID HAVE VIN, AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES ON HOLD I WAS TOLD THER WAS A RECALL BUT I WOULD NEED TO BRING VEHICLE IN TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. ARRIVED AT SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO LINE OF CARS AND WAITING ROOM FULL OF CUSTOMERS, APPROXIMATELY 1/2 HOUR WAIT. TURNED OFF PASSENGER AIRBAG AND WILL SELL ACCORDINGLY.
AIRBAG RECALL HASN'T BEEN FIXED FOR QUITE A WHILE (> A YEAR?)
THE DASH ON MY SILVERADO HAS SIGNIFICANT CRACK. SO MANY CRACKS PORTIONS OF THE DASH CAN ALMOST BE REMOVED. THE NOISE IS DISTRACTING, THE POTENTIAL FLYING OBJECTS THAT COULD BECOME AIRBORN IN AN ACCIDENT ARE VERY CONCERNING.

THE OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS IN A CHILD SAFETY SEAT AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE SAN BERNARDINO SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED, BUT A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE ENGINE DOESN'T SLOW DOWN IMEDIATLY AFTER YOU RELEASE ACCELERATOR.. ALSO THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM COMES ON AND OFF IN MOTION... ALSO SOMETIMES SPEAKERS WORK AND SOMETIMES THE DON'T ...IN MOTION OR NOT.. I LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND HIT A TREE GOING ABOUT 40 MPH NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED...
I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY TRUCK FRAME. IT IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH IN A FEW SPOTS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW SAFE IT IS TO KEEP DRIVING. THIS IS A COMBINATION OF POOR ENGINEERING/ CHEAP STEEL FROM GM'S SIDE AND THE HIGHLY CORROSIVE CHEMICALS THAT ARE PUT ON THE ROADS IN NEW ENGLAND FROM THE DOT. GM HAS CLEARLY STATED THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM AND I AM ON MY OWN TO COVER THE COST OF A NEW FRAME OR A NEW VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to make a right turn, the front driver's side and front passenger's side air bags deployed, causing the rear windows to fall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the air bags inflators were corroded. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would only cover the repair of the passenger's side air bag. The failure mileage was approximately 64,644.
TAKARA RECALL. A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I HAD A SERVICE LIGHT ON FOR THE AIRBAG. I TOOK IT TO THE GM CERTIFIED DEALER. THEY COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG, BUT THEY FIGURED IT WAS THE SDM. THEIR BEST GUESS AND TO START WITH THAT. THEY TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY, IT'S NOTHING SERIOUS AS OF YET. SO THROUGHOUT THE COURSE THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. ON SEPTEMBER 20TH AFTER DROPPING OFF MY CHILD AT DAY CARE, I WENT TO WORK EARLY FOR A MEETING. I PARKED IN MY NORMAL SPOT AND WENT IN. AFTER MY HOUR LONG MEETING MY MANAGER HAD NOTIFIED ME, THAT MY AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. IT WAS OFF, PARKED, AND AIRBAGS WENT OFF ON THEIR OWN. IF I DIDN'T HAVE THAT MEETING, THEY WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD'VE KILLED ME AND MY CHILD. I DO HAVE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THEM DEPLOYING FROM MY WORKS SECURITY CAMERAS.
EXTENSIVE FRAME DAMAGE FROM PREMATURE RUST. THIS FRAME AT ONLY 10 YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT BE RUSTED COMPLETELY THOUGH.
DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ABOUT 35 MPH, QUICKLY DEPRESSED BRAKE TO STOP AT RED LIGHT. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKING. WENT THRU RED LIGHT AT 35 MPH, ALMOST HIT CROSS TRAFFIC. HAD TRUCK TOWED AND DISCOVERED THAT BRAKE LINE HAD RUSTED AND BURST.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. HELLO, I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND FOUND THE CODE IS FOR "LOW FLOW, CHECK FUEL CONTROL MODULE, FUEL PUMP". I FOUND A RECALL BULLETIN NO.: 14515B DATE: JANUARY 2015 SUBJECT: CHASSIS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL CONTAMINATION. IT IS MODEL YEAR TRUCK AND THE EXACT PART NUMBER OF THE CONTROL MODULE BUT THE LOCAL DEALER ADVISED GM DOES NOT LIST MY VIN AS BEING INVOLVED, EVEN THOUGH MY TRUCK IS LISTED IN THE MODEL YEAR BULLETIN AND IT IS THE EXACT PART NUMBER FOR ALL VEHICLES!! MY TRUCK COULD STOP AT ANY TIME AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I CAN;T DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR OF IT STALLING AND EVEN GM ADVISED IT COULD STALL IN TRAFIIC AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.

THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 14515B. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. CRACKED DASHBOARD AROUND AIRBAG AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. WORRIED IF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FLYING PLASTIC DASHBOARD COULD CAUSE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. MOVING
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN WILL PARTS BE AVAILABLE?
THE PROBLEM WAS NOT WITH THE AIR BAG, BUT THE FRONT SWITCH THAT ACTIVATES THE AIR BAGS UPON IMPACT. WHEN ONE OR BOTH FAIL THE TEST WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION ON, IT POSTS A MESSAGE SAYING SERVICE THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THERE IS LOTS OF INFORMATION REGARDING THIS ON UTUBE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I AM AN ELECTRICIAN AND AN ELECTRONICS TECH, I KNOW THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT ACTIVATE IF THE CRASH IS ON THE SIDE WITH A BAD AIR BAG. I HAD 2 BRAKE LIGHT SWITCHES GO OUT, AT WHICH TIME THE PERSON BEHIND ME,WOULD HAVE NO IDEA, I WAS BRAKING. THE SWITCH IS A 2 PART SWITCH, ONE PART CONTROLS THE BRAKE LIGHT, THE OTHER ENABLES OR DISENGAGES THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKS IN MULTIPLE AREAS. CRACKS KEEP SPREADING FOR NO APPARENT REASON.

TAKATA RECALL. LOCAL DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO "FIX" AT THIS TIME AVAILABLE TO REMEDY THE RECALL ACTION, SO NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.

WENT TO THE WEBSITE ON THE MAILER AND FOUND THAT WE ARE ONE OF THE VEHICHLES THAT NEEDS TO HAVE THE RECALL DONE ON, CONTACTED THE CLOSEST DEALER THEY LISTED (HAPPENS TO BE THE ONE WE PURCHASED FROM) AND ERICA @ ROSSI ADVISED THAT HER COMPUTER SAYS "NO REMEDY AVAIL" AND SUGGESTED I CALL THE 888 # FOR YOU GUYS. OUR AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN LIT ON THE DASH FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. NOT SURE IF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE RECALL OR THE SENSOR HAS GONE BAD IN THE FRONT BUMPER.
TRIED TO OPEN PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW FROM MASTER MODULE(SWITCH) ON DRIVER SIDE, NOTICE A BURNT ODOR. ON FARTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW MODULE HAD SHORTED OUT WITH BURNT AND/OR MELTED WIRES AT THE CONNECTOR. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD! I WAS PARKED AT A POST OFFICE
FRAME AND BODY RUSTING REAL BAD
MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT,EVERY MONTH I HAVE TO REPLACE A HEADLIGHT. I HAVE TALKED WITH MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME YEAR MODEL AND PEOPLE WITH ONE YEAR OLDER AND ONE YEAR NEWER AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAMETHING HAPPENS TO THEM. SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY MECHANIC AND OTHER MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND NONE OF THEM CAN FIGURE IT OUT. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE DEALER (PRESTON HOOD CHEVROLET, 212 HOLLYWOOD BLVD SW, FORT WALTON BEACH, FL 32548) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN TSB: 99-01-39-004I. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,647.

RAPID TEMPORARY LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, DOORLOCKS CYCLING REPEATEDLY, GUAGES MALFUNCTIONING, RADIO SHUTS OFF AND TURNS BACK ON WITH NO PRESET STATIONS AND SHOWING 12:00 ON THE CLOCK ,CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES. ONCE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF, NO GUAGES NOR LIGHTS WORK...AS IF THERE WASN'T ANY BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WON'T START UNTIL DOME LIGHT IS RESTORED ON VIA JUMPSTARTING. CLEANING BATTERY CONNECTIONS AND NUMEROUS GROUND WIRE CONNECTIONS GIVES SHORT-LIVED RELIEF FROM SYMTOMS BUT PROBLEMS ULTIMATELY RETURN. CHEVY DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS SHOWS THAT GROUND WIRES HAVE HIGH RESISTANCE. ONLINE RESEARCH SHOWS THAT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHEVY OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR TO EXACT SAME PROBLEMS, YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. PROBLEM WAS "FIXED" LAST YEAR AND HAS RETURNED YET AGAIN.
" TAKATA RECALL" I RECIEVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE OVER 2 YEARS AGO, IT SAID THE AIR BAGS NEED REPLACED, THEN IT SAID THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVALIVBLE BUT AS SOON AS THEY WERE I WOULD BE CONTACTED, IF IT IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE MY TRUCK WITH THESE AIR BAGS, WHY IS IT TAKING OVER 2 YEARS FOR THEM TO HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT
TAKATA RECALL NOTIFIED BY DEALER THAT RECALL REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR MY TRUCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NHTSA SHOULD BE DOING MORE SO GM GETS ON THE BALL.

FUEL PUMP MODULE--- THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2015 FOR THIS PART BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS PART IS NOW BAD ON MY TRUCK.. I WAS INFORMED IT WAS A RECALL PART BUT IT DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL SENDING UNIT MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING BECAUSE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT SENT AN INCORRECT SIGNAL TO THE FUEL TANK, THUS SIGNALING TO THE ENGINE THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. DON HALL CHEVROLET INC IN ASHLAND, KENTUCKY WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
