THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERRIN-GEAR CHEVROLET (1685 HIGH ST, JACKSON, MS 39202, (601) 376-9944) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK. WHEN THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 10 MPH, THE SHAKING STOPPED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB HOWARD CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 13130 BROADWAY EXT, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73114, (405) 748-7700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IDLER ARM AND STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. *LN*JB
ON 09/27/19 WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM DINNER WITH MY CHILDREN MY BRAKES WENT OUT COMPLETELY CLOSE TO A MILE FROM OUR HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHILE THIS HAPPENED AND WE WERE ON A HIGHWAY. SIGNIFICANT FORCE HAD TO BE EXERTED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO FORCE THE TRUCK TO SLOWLY COME TO A STOP. HAD WE BEEN IN HEAVIER TRAFFIC THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS BRAKE VACUUM PUMP FAILURE WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH INVOLVING OTHER VEHICLES. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, RICHARD KAY SUPERSTORE IN ANDERSON SC, THEY STATED THEIR WAS A RECALL FOR A RE-CALIBRATION OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IF LEFT UNCHECKED COULD CAUSE A FAILURE OF THE VACUUM PUMP. AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS THREE YEARS OLD AND THE RECALL WAS ISSUED 25 DAYS PRIOR TO MY INCIDENT. THE TOTAL COST TO REPAIR THE VACUUM PUMP WAS $705.96. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT CHEVROLET HAS NOT RECALLED THE VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT THE CALIBRATION FAILURE IS CAUSING THESE PUMPS TO WEAR OUT TOO QUICKLY... OR THE PUMP THEMSELVES MAY ACTUALLY BE FAULTY AS WELL. REGARDLESS, THE CALIBRATION SHOULD BE REQUIRED AS WELL AS A REPLACEMENT OF THE VACUUM PUMP AT NO CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY AND POTENTIALLY THE LOSS OF LIFE.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE "TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM" LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO DRIVE STRAIGHT INTO THE WOODS NEARLY HITTING A TREE. THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING LIGHTS AND THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON AS NORMAL AND THE STEERING WAS NO LONGER LOCKED UP. A WEEK PRIOR WHILE SITTING STILL AT A DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW THE SAME INCIDENT WITH THE STEERING LOCK UP AND WARNING LIGHT HAPPENED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT. IT WAS BRIEF AND ALL SYSTEMS RETURNED TO NORMAL.

2016 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 4X4, 35K MILES. CREW CAB.AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER, PAID TO HAVE FIXED. ONE MONTH LATER LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I FELT UNDER DRIVERS SEAT, TOUCHED SOME WIRES, LIGHT NO LONGER ON. NOW 42K MILES LIGHT BACK ON. OF COURSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, PAST THE 36 MONTH PERIOD. GM MUST BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. LIGHT CAME ON AS SOON AS I START THE TRUCK.LIGHT STAYS ON.

ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2019, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HIGH PLAINS MOTORS INC (331 FRONT ST, WOLF POINTE, MT 59201) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES) APPLIED TO THE FAILURE. THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS BECOMING WORSE. ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2019), THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE CONTACT THAT THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ALREADY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. VEHICLE IS A 2016 CHEVROLET TRUCK WITH 25,852 MILES. A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO HAPPEN WITH A MALE DRIVER. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN IF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING HAD HAPPENED TO MY WIFE ON A CURVY ROAD. GM HAS RECALLED 1 MILLION PLUS 14-15 GM VEHICLES OVER THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAY THE 2016 IS NOT IN THE RECALL. THE $1,500 PLUS DOLLAR COST IS ON ME. WHY IS GM BEING ALLOWED TO CONTINUE SELLING VEHICLES WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING?

ALSO, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING SYSTEM, DRIVE CAREFULLY" APPEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET OF WESLEY CHAPEL (26922 WESLEY CHAPEL BLVD, WESLEY CHAPEL, FL 33544, (813) 437-4344) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,900.

WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE SLOWLY CAME TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RYDELL CHEVROLET (8600 DEVONSHIRE ST #1309, NORTHRIDGE, CA 91324, (866) 802-5628) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 591190. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
BRAKES LOCKED UP WILE,DRIVING FOR A SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH , THE FIRST TIME WAS 07/13/2019 DEPAUA CHEVROLET HAD TO 0RDER ELECTRICAL MODUALS CALLED EBCM AND BPMV THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THE REASON THE BRAKES LOCKED UP IT TOOK A MONTH FOR THEM TO GET PARTS AND NOW THE BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP AGAIN AFTER SPENDING $2512.02 TOGET THEM REPAIRED . I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY BODY ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THERE 2016 CHEVY SILVERODO 4WHEEL DRIVES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING.

WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A TRACTOR TRAILER. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING INDICATORS FLICKERED DURING THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE TRUCK WILL YANK THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH, MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ERRORS WILL OCCUR AND THE ENGINE SOMETIMES DIES WHILE THE TRUCK IS MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS AND TURNING. A STABILITRACK ERROR SHOWS ON THE DASH. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY.THIS TRUCK IS ACCIDENT FREE AND APPEARS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY HARD TO PUSH AT LOW SPEED, ALMOST UNABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK MOST TIMES. HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS
Unknown. There is times when parking my truck. I press on the brake paddle and it sound and feels like my truck jerks at first before it brakes. This has been going on for almost the 8 years I’ve own the truck. Also I have only owned the truck for 8 years and my paint is already peeling off. It doesn’t have anything to do with the brakes. I just had my truck serviced the brakes and drums. It still does it.
WHEN TRUCK IS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (60 AND ABOVE) THE TRUCK SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND ANYTHING IN THE CUP HOLDERS SHAKES VIOLENTLY. IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE FROM WHAT I CAN TELL AND CHEVROLET HAS DONE NOTHING TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE.
BRAKES BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AFTER 2-3 DEPRESSIONS OF THE PEDAL. HAPPENS MOSTLY IN PARKING LOTS AND STOP/GO TRAFFIC. DRIVER MUST APPLY GREAT PRESSURE TO SLOW/STOP VEHICLE.
THE EBCM WITH BPMV ACCORDING TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IS WHAT CAUSED MY BRAKES TO LOCK UP AND RUN ALL THE ROTERS AND BRAKE PADS.THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THIS UNIT, VEHICAL WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET

REOCCURRING BRAKING PROBLEMS AT LOW SPEEDS WHENEVER PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE IN QUICK SUCCESSION (IE BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC) THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARDER/STIFFER TO PRESS AND APPLIES LITTLE TO NO BRAKE WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE. I HAVE ONLY NOTICED THIS BRAKING PROBLEM AT LOW SPEEDS BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONS THAT CAUSE THE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING STRAIGHT AS WELL AS TURNING. THE VEHICLE ALSO MAKE A SOUND AS IF THE ABS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS AS THOUGH THE ABS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATING. NO LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD DURING THE BRAKING. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 50K MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO BOUGHT FROM A CERTIFIED CHEVROLET DEALER
CAR STALLS AND RESTARTS WHEN DRIVING AND TURNING. CAR WON'T TURN OR GO. HAVE ALMOST WRECKED MULTIPLE TIMES. SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT STABILITRAK
DRIVING AROUND PARKING LOTS OR STUCK IN TRAFFIC GOING SLOW AND HAVING TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FREQUENTLY THE PEDAL WILL GO VERY HARD AND TAKES BOTH FEET TO PRESS DOWN ON IT AND BASICALLY HAVE NO BRAKES. I HAVE I TO PULL OVER OR STOP AND SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND SIT FOR A MIN THEN RESTART AND I GET MY BRAKES BACK. I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE VACUUM ASSIST PUMP NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IN TO THE SHOP YET CAUSE I'M OUT OF THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY
MY BATTERY FAILED AT 53,000 MILES, AND AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK. I'VE ALSO NOTICED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE DISPLAY PANEL, AND THE STEREO CHANGING CHANNELS. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN ROSEVILLE, CA. AND AWAIT DETAILS ON REPAIR.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON THE HIGHWAY
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VIOLENTLY AT TIMES. FEELS AS IF SOMETHING RAN INTO THE TRUCK AND SCARES YOU WHEN IT HAPPENS.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY WHEN ENGINE LOST POWER AND STOPPED. IT WAS TRANSPORTED TO DEALERSHIP. THE FUEL INJECTORS, FUEL RAILS , AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEED TO BE REPLACED.
THE TRUCK IS LESS THAN 3 YRS OLD WITH ONLY 23671 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. P050D CODE AND THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO DOWN SHIFT HARD AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING DOWN. DEALER SAID THERE WAS CARBON BUILD UP ON CYLINDER 1 VALVES THAT CAUSED THEM TO STICK AND A MISFIRE. I FOUND IT INTERESTING THAT CYLINDERS 1-4-6-7 ARE THE CYLINDERS THAT SHUT DOWN FOR AFM ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WHEN IT GOES INTO V4 MODE. DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT RELATED. SAID IT WAS POOR FUEL. SAID I NEED TO RUN TOP TIER DETERGENT FROM SELECT GAS STATIONS. THAT IS THE FIRST TIME ANYONE HAS TOLD ME THIS. THAT'S NOT IN THE OWNERS MANUAL AND NO ONE TOLD ME I WOULD NEED TO USE SPECIAL GAS STATIONS WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK BRAND NEW. I THEN TOLD HIM THE TWO STATIONS I USE ARE MOBIL AND SUNOCO. BOTH OF WHICH ARE ON THE TOP TIER FUEL DISTRIBUTOR LIST. INTERESTING FACT: TOP TIER FUELS IS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK OF GENERAL MOTORS. THEY FAILED TO MENTION THAT WHEN THEY TOLD ME ABOUT MY "POOR FUEL" WHICH IS APPARENTLY A LICENSED GM PRODUCT. I WAS TOLD IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AS IT WOULD LIKELY BE OUTSIDE THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY PERIOD (36 MOS). APPARENTLY THE FUEL SYSTEM IS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN? FOUND NOTHING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. NOT SURPRISED. LAST NEW CHEVROLET I WILL EVER BUY.
SINCE PURCHASED, TRUCK SHAKES AT ABOUT 70 MPH. ORIGINAL TIRES WERE MOUNTED AND BALANCED - STILL SHAKES. NEW SET OF TIRES WERE PUT IN - STILL SHAKES AT 70+MPH. HAPPENS ON ALL TYPES OF HIGHWAY SURFACES. ONGOING ISSUE.
UNRESPONSIVE BRAKES AT LOW SPEED. VERY DANGEROUS AND NOT SURE WHY THIS ISNT A RECALL. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO GET INJURED OR DIE BEFORE ITS FIXED?
AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR HAD CRACKED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES AND GM DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT. IM SURE THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS. TRUCK IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH 50K MILES. FAIR TO HAVE TO PAY A $1,000+ FOR GMS NEGLECT? PLEASE STEP IN HERE, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GETTING HURT BY THIS. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED AND CLEARLY IT WARRANTS ONE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
THE BRAKES WENT STIFF AND MY WIFE WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO STOP. THIS WAS LUCKILY JUST BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVE WAY. IT COULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD IF SHE WAS GOING FASTER OR NEEDED TO STOP QUICK.
ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO NOW, UNDER SLOW SPEEDS AND MAKING A TURN MOST OF THE TIME, MY TRUCK WILL SHUT DOWN AND JERK THE WHEEL FROM MY HANDS AGGRESSIVELY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 20 TIMES SO FAR. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I HIT THE GAS TO MAKE A PASS, THE TRUCK DOWN SHIFTED AND SHUT DOWN ON ME FOR ABOUT 5 SECOND GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN TIMES WHEN I'VE GOT THE BRAKE OR PUT BOTH FRONT WINDOWS UP AND THE RADIO WOULD GO OUT. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHAT TO DO. I RELY ON MY TRUCK ALLOT BUT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. WHEN THESE ISSUES OCCUR THE SERVICE STABLETRACK LIGHT COMES ON.
ON THE DATE CITED, I WAS BACKING UP A TRAILER DOWN A HILL SLOWLY. HAD RELEASED THE BRAKES THEN REAPPLIED AND SUDDENLY THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO STOP. MANUALLY APPLIED FULL STRENGTH TRAILER BRAKES AND THE TRAILER HELPED STOP THE TRUCK. 3 DAYS LATER (5/30/19) I EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR INCIDENT. I WAS PARKED, PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE ACCIDENTALLY AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE AGAIN QUICKLY TO SWITCH TO REVERSE, THE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY STIFF. NEARLY HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. PUT INTO REVERSE AND NO ISSUE. AT NO POINT WAS A "SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST" MESSAGE DISPLAYED AS NOTED IN A 'SPECIAL WARRANTY' LETTER RECEIVED FROM GM IN THE MAIL BETWEEN THE INCIDENTS. NO OTHER ERROR CODES OR MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED. 2 YEARS AGO AFTER HAVING TOWED A TRAILER, THE MESSAGE "SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST" WAS DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN ONCE, THE LOCAL SERVICE DEALER PULLED CODES AND DID NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIR.

VACUUM PUMP FAILED SUDDENLY, ALMOST HAD A COLLISION DUE TO VERY HARD BRAKING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS ($2,100 INCLUDING NEW BRAKES). I DON'T HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION YET.
AT SPEED ABOVE 50 MILES AN HOUR THERE IS VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE AND IT GET WORE THE FASTER YOU GO AND AT 80 MILES AN HOUR THERE IS A ROAR AND THE WHOLE VEHICLE IS VIBRATING BADLY AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE A/C IN MY 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 STOPPED WORKING ON 5/15/2019 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON 5/16/2019 TO HAVE LOOKED AT. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A PINHOLE LEAK IN THE CONDENSER. I WAS CHARGED 120.00 TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS ESTIMATED AT OVER 900.00 WHAT UPSETTING IS THAT I'M NOW FINDING OUT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT GM IS TOTALLY AWARE OF.

NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.

DURING PARKING OR IN TRAFFIC, THE BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE A TENDENCY TO BECOME VERY STIFF AND NOISY REQUIRING INCREASED PRESSURE TO APPLY THE BRAKES. THE PROBLEM HAS CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR-MISS ACCIDENTS AND HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT BETWEEN OCCURRENCES. THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, BUT BECAUSE MY APPOINTMENT WAS LATER IN THE DAY, THEY ASKED IF I COULD RETURN ANOTHER DAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED FINALLY ON MAY 4, 2019 WHICH THEY DID NOT ELUDE TO THIS BEING A FREQUENTLY REPORTED ISSUE, NOR THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE PREVIOUS YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST OVER $700 WHICH I COULD NOT AFFORD AT THE TIME. BUT THEN 4 DAYS LATER I RECEIVE A LETTER (ATTACHED) IN THE MAIL, DATED APRIL 2019, THAT SAYS THAT THE BRAKE ISSUE WAS IDENTIFIED, BUT I WOULD ONLY QUALIFY FOR THE EXTENDED COVERAGE IF THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED WITHIN 6 YEARS OF THE PURCHASE DATE OR 72,000 MILES, WHICHEVER WAS FIRST. AT THE TIME THE ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED, THE MILAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 73,265, CONVENIENTLY JUST OUTSIDE THE RANGE OF THE MILAGE IDENTIFIED IN THE LETTER. IF GM WAS FAMILIAR WITH THIS ISSUE IN 2018, WHY SEND THIS LETTER OUT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING MY DIAGNOSIS, WHERE I WAS ALLOWED ZERO OPPORTUNITIES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REPAIRED? WERE ALL THE OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS WHO EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM GIVEN THE SAME MILAGE AND YEAR RESTRICTIONS AS ME? ALSO, HOW IS IT THAT A BRAKING PROBLEM WHICH HAS BEEN KNOW TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES ALLOWED TO PERSIST UP UNTIL THERE IS A SEVERE PROBLEM, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A FATALITY BEFORE A RECALL IS JUSTIFIED? THERE ARE MORAL CONCERNS WITH THIS ON ADDITION TO THE GENERAL SAFETY CONCERNS.

WHEN BACKING A 6000 LB TRAILER (WITHOUT ELECTRIC BRAKES TRAILER HAS HYDRAULIC SURGE BRAKES) DOWN A HILL IT BECOMES DANGEROUS! TO BACK A TRAILER DOWN A HILL YOU MUST PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL, USE YOUR RIGHT FOOT TO KEEP THE ENGINE RPM UP AND BRAKE WITH YOUR RIGHT FOOT. THIS ALLOWS THE VACUUM PUMP TO SUPPLY ENOUGH VACUUM FOR THE POWER BRAKES TO WORK COMBINE THIS WITH WATCHING AND GUIDING THE TRAILER AND IT CAUSES EXTREME WORRY. IF YOU DON;T KEEP THE ENGINE RPM UP TO PRODUCE VACUUM YOU CANNOT SAFELY THE TRAILER, IT WILL TRAVEL MUCH FURTHER BEFORE STOPPING AND REQUIRE A MASSIVE EFFORT ON THE PEDAL TO STOP THE TRUCK AND TRAILER. THIS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I LAUNCH MY BOAT IN 2019. TRUCK NOW HAS ABOUT 51000 MILES ON IT. OTHER THAN THE BRAKES IT HAS BEEN PROBLEM FREE. *TR
