Driving on interstate 85 on cruise control when I herd the motor RPM start to climb so I tapped the break and that’s when the truck shut itself off and put itself in neutral causing me to have to coast over to shoulder of the road. Message on the dash said push start button to start again. There were no check engine lights, no overheating temperature lights. No codes at all. The truck is a 2024 with 62,000 miles and all oil changes on time. Upon checking online , this has happened to other vehicle owners as well. Apparently the Chevy Silverado with the 6.2 liter engine has problems with push rods and bearings. Some have replaced multiple engines. Chevy wants me to pay for new engine.
Purchased June 3,2024 Feb 3/2025: serial data gateway module recall. All indicator lights on, ac control and radio inoperable, instrument panel displays various issues. That recall was serviced. February 28/2025: couldn’t see how fast I was going, don’t know how much gas I had. AC controls and radio no operable, all information indicator lights on again March 1/2025: duplicate issues from 2/28 January 17/2026: at a red light, car shut off and wouldn't turn back on in the middle of snowing road, indicator lights all on and present could not restart car, police present-had to unhook battery due to safety concerns March 18/2026: , all indicator lights on, speed limitation to 62 on the highway, loss of power steering, didn’t turn back, called for tow and the morning after turned on and check engine light off Vehicle in at dealership: March 26-27, 30-31: Could not replicate issue, no r/o codes 4/1 Contacted by Brian with GM Corporate- “can’t do anything until the check engine code goes off again”.
While driving on the interstate at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost all motive power. No warning light was illuminated. I pulled over to the right side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. It was -30 degrees outside and it was dark. I had passengers in my vehicle, and we were stuck with no power or heat on the interstate. The vehicle could not be put into neutral to be moved off the interstate because there was the vehicle would not turn on. This was an extremely unsafe and dangerous situation for me and my passengers. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the engine was not available for replacement. The vehicle is still at the dealership and has been there for 2 months. The approximate failure mileage was approx. 19,000 miles.
Vehicle defect appears related to recall but dealership is unable to identify without tear down of engine. Previous dealership when first reported non responsive. Manufacturer refusing to further fix and or resolve outstanding safety issue of major safety concern.
Engine check light came on at 10,500 miles and under 300 hours of engine time. Initially thought it was due to a wheel speed sensor failure from the salt and brine build up from winter weather. After having the code ran the engine is misfiring and has a rough idle. This is an L87 6.2L motor on a 2024 Silverado ZR2. After researching this problem it is way more frequent than the total of 39 official reports with a similar truck owned by an acquaintance having the same issue at the same mileage. Engine sound has changed, the truck shudders, and may seize up at any moment. The truck had 1 oil change at 5500 miles and was due for its second oil change at 11500 but will more than likely need an engine replacement.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to shift into drive(D), the vehicle failed to shift or respond as needed. The contact became aware that the vehicle also failed to shift into reverse(R). After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, and the contacts son was able to shift into drive. The contact stated that while her son was driving 50 MPH, the vehicle briefly accelerated independently before returning to normal functionality. A message to "Please Decelerate and Drive with Caution" was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the throttle body. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 24NA181. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 7,000.
Subject: Engine Failure – 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (6.2L V8 •VIN: [XXX] Issue Description: While driving on [XXX], I noticed the transmission would downshift but not upshift. Within seconds, a warning appeared: “Oil temperature high, idle engine.” I began merging onto the shoulder, but before I could get there, the engine shut off completely, and the transmission shifted into neutral. After coasting to the shoulder, the transmission shifted into park on its own. Failure to Restart & Electrical Issues: I attempted to restart the engine, but it would not turn over. The dashboard, radio, and electronics turned off for a few seconds before coming back on, but the engine remained unresponsive. Towing Difficulties & Roadside Assistance Failure: GM Roadside Assistance said no contracted towing companies had the equipment to tow my truck because it would not shift into neutral without the engine running. I had to find and pay for a tow truck myself, with no guarantee of reimbursement. Dealer Response & Repair Delays: My truck has been at the dealership for days, but they have not started repairs due to technician shortages and a backlog of work. They stated: •Manually cranking the engine is nearly impossible. •The starter is not strong enough to turn it. •Repairs could take months. Loaner Car & Additional Hardships: Per the GM warranty, I received a loaner car but must return it every 500 miles. Since I commute 160 miles per day, I must frequently exchange it, causing major inconvenience. Safety Concerns & Requested Action: This sudden engine failure on the highway was a significant safety risk. Given that NHTSA is investigating failures of the GM 6.2L V8 (L87), I believe my case is related. GM should issue a recall or extended warranty for affected vehicles. This is the 3rd engine failure in 23K miles. The first was a Lifter/Rod problem at around 3K miles. The 2nd was catastrophic engine failure due to a spun bearing at 21K miles. Now at 23K miles, I'm having another catastrophic engine failure with the same issue. Engine is the 6.2L L87.
When Driving my 2024 Chevy Silverado with 24,600 Miles on it this morning, i was on the New York State Thruway going highways speed (70MPH) when the truck Lost Power, and Shut completely off, I had a tractor trailer behind me and lucky my pick up truck was able to coast over the white line, if i would have been able to coast over the white line i would have been in a major accident. I attempted to start the truck up again and the truck would not turn over, i had sat there for about 25/30 Min trying to get the truck started and finally the truck turned over and i was able to continue on to work, While driving the truck had absolutely no power and the truck was sitting around 3K RPMs when going 66mph, the truck was hard shifting into gears as well. I arrived at work and i got to a parking space and all the sudden the truck shut off and wouldn't not start back up. Upon arriving to work i rolled down my window and heard a long banging noise coming from the engine Aswell as a whining noise. I attempted to start the truck up and you hit the start button the truck just keeps whining and never starts up. I was able to contact GM Roadside and have a tow truck come and pick the truck up and bring it back to the dealer. Im awaiting the dealer to contact me. Overall, i could have been in serious car accident for because the engine just shut off on the highway, this happened with no warning or anything, the check engine light was NOT on before this happened.
The valve body in my transmission went out in Colorado where my truck is currently at a dealership under warranty. They are putting my job at risk due to the fact that I bought that truck specifically for work since I travel all over the country for work. I told them that I need the part expedited because I need to leave Colorado and go to Texas for work on the 28th and still no help at all. All I’m asking for is for the part or a new transmission to be sent and installed before the month ends. Because if it doesn’t I’ll get fired if I don’t make it to Texas. And I’ll state this I will pay out of my own pocket even though the truck has warranty if it means the part can get expedited.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss While driving, I was given no notice to the vehicle shutting down, couldn't go forward nor backwards. Barely got off the road, waited hours on rollback. Dealership ran a test, said "control valve body " problem. Part is ordered, on back order. GM - taking software to attempt to monitor when? this problem is going to occur? They know about excessive wear, Why not Re-Engingeer this problem instead of selling vehicles that no one knows when this problem of stopping on the road will occur. That would be a safety issue. A hazardous issue of driving on the road and not know when this would happen. If the vehicle doesn't stop from GM software, the rear wheel brakes lock up.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The contact was driving on a major highway in the fast lane during the failure. The contact was concerned that the failure could have caused a major crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
The vehicle burns oil and has from the very first oil change. The dealer is stating the oil needs to be changed more often (5k as opposed to 7500 per the manual) to mitigate the fact the vehicle is burning oil. Currently I am hearing lifter tick at cold start and believe the vehicle is on its way to experiencing engine failure of which your organization is already looking into. I am reporting this to help with your investigation. Please feel free to call with any questions. Thank you. On 1/13/25 while driving my new vehicle and arriving at destination I placed vehicle in park for 10 mins and then left putting vehicle in reverse and transmission in reverse would not engage, rolling me into decline slope and almost crashing into home. After receiving help to push vehicle in neutral, I placed car in drive and sent to dealership. Truck seemed fine in drive. Parkway Chevrolet, Tomball, TX inspected vehicle and stated no issues. Possible torque lock but nothing showing and possibly resolved. On 1/16/25 while driving to work, I stopped at gas station for coffee, left truck running. Got back in vehicle and placed in reverse, and again truck would not engage reverse. I received another push out in neutral , placed in drive and then proceeded to return home. While I’m drive check engine light came on, and truck would not go beyond the 2nd gear. I stopped at closest light to turn around and proceed home and the vehicle began grinding gea and jerking my vehicle while in drive. I tried to turn around at a dead end road and could not reverse vehicle and called for tow to dealership. Dealership at opening 7am took in vehicle 2 nd time with my complaint and called at noon. They stated the valve body of transmission needed to be replaced. Further stating it was a faulty issue chevy was aware about but nothing showing and recalled. They said no longer using manufacturer for this transmission replacement and it would be an unknown eta for repair. This is dangerous and unacceptable as it is a new vehicle with a known faulty part.
The issue involved multiple systems, including the ABS system, brake system, and electronic stability system (ESG), along with a significant loss of braking power. These components may still be available for inspection. My safety and that of others were seriously at risk during my morning commute in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The truck lost braking capability, nearly causing a collision with the vehicle in front of me. Later, as I attempted to park, it again lost braking force, and I narrowly avoided crashing into bushes. The collision prevention system also failed to activate during these incidents. The problem was inspected and diagnosed by the dealership after being towed via roadside assistance. They confirmed that the battery caused the failures across multiple systems. This was not the first issue with the battery. About a month ago, the battery suddenly died, preventing the truck from starting. At that time, Chevrolet sent me a message stating that the battery status was critical. After recharging it, the vehicle functioned normally until this recent incident. The first symptoms of the latest issue appeared while I was stopped at a red light. The truck suddenly shut off and restarted on its own. Warning lights for the ABS system and brake system appeared on the dashboard. Once the light turned green and I started to accelerate, an ESG message appeared, followed by another message limiting the maximum speed to 43 mph. When I tried to brake to park the truck, the brakes were slow to respond, making it feel like the truck had completely lost braking power. The collision prevention system failed to activate, increasing the danger. Fortunately, my two babies were not in the truck at the time of the incident. This was an extremely frightening situation for me as a driver. The truck is only six months old, has 37,000 miles, and was purchased new. I believe many of these failures could have been prevented with proper safeguards. While I was lucky to avoid an
The tailgate opens while I am driving. I saw this is an issue with other Models but it has happened numerous times on my model as well. The computer system also malfunctions sporadically and the car doesn’t turn off.
I was driving down the road when the vehicle shut off and required a restart. After I was able to safely pull to the side of the road with zero power I was able to restart the vehicle after a few tries. The check engine light came on. Upon getting the code checked the CAM sensor is what shut the vehicle off. I was on a busy access road and a crash could have happened if I was not able to move out of the travel lanes.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifting gear, there was a hesitation before properly shifting gear. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light and then attempting to accelerate while making a left turn at approximately 15 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to accelerate immediately but then suddenly surged forward. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The contact had restarted the vehicle and drove the vehicle a short distance to the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission valve had failed, and the valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the manufacturer taking an extensive amount of time to provide the parts. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,485.
My 2024 ZR2 has roughly 22,000 miles on it. Was driving and lost power. Dealership actually sent someone to come look at my stalled truck. Would not turn over. Dealership got it towed. After diagnosis, they said the engine had seized. This is absolutely uncalled for on a brand new vehicle that I paid over $70,000 for. This exact same thing happened on my Co Workers 2020 high country 6.2. It is currently being worked on, and now seeing that over 877,000 of these 6.2 engines have done this exact same thing since 2019??? How is this engine still being put in these GM vehicles? Now they are going to put new or rebuild the one I have that the exact same thing can happen to the new one? No new warranty will be given as I just get the remaining warranty? I'm sorry but this is the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased and was proud of it. Now I have a ticking time bomb? I work out of state and if this happened while out of state, what do I do?? I would like action taken! I am getting an attorney involved as this should be taken care of after 877,000 vehicles. What other action can be taken? Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
At 40mph the transmission vibration on the pedal, and at slower speeds.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle began jerking and sputtering and then stalled. The engine turned over, but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 8,840.
the digital speedometer disappears randomly as do other visual features of the driver information area the trucks auto lock feature randomly docent lock the truck or unlocks the truck when unattended
Valve Body failure at 5,500 miles. Transmission wouldn't engage in reverse. Truck went into limp mode with a reduce speed message. Valve Body is on back order for 7-8 months. The dealership decided to order a new transmission. Ive been waiting almost two months for the transmission to arrive.
The vehicle had a sudden engine failure driving up an incline and a bearing rod caused me to need a new engine. It’s at Myrtle Beach Chevrolet and they tell me the engine is on National BackOrder. It’s a new truck and now needs a new engine that can’t be found. Shame on GM
Jan 1 issues of knocking and loss of power occurred at 2100 miles; took the the dealership and it was determined that there was a collapsed lifter and 4 of the 8 were replaced. Mar 11 truck experienced loss of power and an a message to "press start again" was able to pull over and turn truck off and it would not start again; this occurred at 5,276 miles. Towed to dealership and it was determined that engine was seized and that it would require a complete engine replacement.
I am sending this report in regards to investigation PE25001. I own a 2024 Silverado 6.2L, purchased on 8/30/24. On 12/27/24, I noticed a odd noise coming from the exhaust and took the truck to the dealership. After a week of trouble shooting, the dealership with the help of technicians from Chevrolet, discovered the crankshaft play was 3 times out of limits causing the exhaust to rattle and determined that engine would have to be replaced.
On 12/24/24 my truck went into limp mode with the notification of “reduced acceleration” nearly causing an accident. Luckily I was able to get off the road to safety. The truck wouldn’t go in reverse or fully accelerate. I had the truck towed to the dealership. The dealership informed me it was the Valve Body in my transmission. They mentioned they have 4 other trucks with the exact same issue. It’s been 1 month since and nothing has been repaired and GM has not responded to my inquiries on a replacement, update on the part, or a buy back. The vehicle was brand new on a lease only 7500 miles on it and was purchased in July. The truck didn’t even last 6months. Had I not quickly gotten the truck off the road I could have been T-Boned and could’ve died at the intersection by a semi coming through. The fact this vehicle was sold, while this was an issue is criminal negligence.
See attached document for complaint.
There is an electrical problem in this vehicle. You can be driving down the road with your high beams on, and they will start flashing. Or they will stop working altogether. Dashboard lights will go out until a restart of the vehicle. ( Speedometer or Tachometer.) The overhead light can just come on driving without you having touched it. The steering wheel controls will stop working. Until you restart the vehicle. The radio has gone out until restart. I have already had to have the transmission replaced in this truck at 24,000 miles. The dealership keeps telling me about these new issues. That unless they find a code. There isn’t a problem. This is not what I paid 62,000 dollars for. The dealer I bought it from is telling me that they will possibly do a buyback. Yet they keep telling me they will get back to me and they don’t. I called the woman who was supposed to call me back. She says she had a family emergency. Chevrolet needs to back their vehicles.
TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY No warning. Was working fine and all of a sudden shuddered and downshifted and the lights lit up. vehicle has been at dealership for 50 days now with no ETA on this part. This is a national known problem and the recall has not yet expanded to the 2024 model.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 91 MPH, the vehicle was shaking erratically. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that it might take a week to complete the diagnostic testing. In addition, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate independently unlatched. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the tailgate switch would be replaced, however the part was on order. The contact stated that the tailgate switch was not replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had occurred four times. The contact stated that tools and other items were lost because of the failure. In addition, the contact stated that on one occasion the tailgate independently unlatched, and the tailgate almost struck the vehicle behind the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to several different dealers because of the persistent failures. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,900.
Only 6k miles. Couldn’t go in reverse or get out of 1st gear. Brought to dealer, they said it needs a new valve body gor the transmission and there are so many trucks with this issue the part is on b/o for 2 weeks-3 months! In the meantime I have not truck.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that she did not feel safe driving the vehicle. The contact was in the process of trading in the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and covered the repair under warranty. The failure mileage was 6,893.
Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue with my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with the 6.2-liter engine. At the time of the incident, my truck had only 17,000 miles on it and had received the two necessary oil changes as recommended. On Thursday, [XXX] while driving northbound on [XXX] in Houston, Texas, my truck unexpectedly lost power while in motion. Fortunately, I was in one of the right lanes and was able to push it to the side, but not before nearly being struck by another vehicle. Several cars had to swerve to avoid my disabled truck, and I truly believe that I could have been seriously injured or worse due to this mechanical failure. After having my truck towed to the dealership, I was informed that the engine had completely locked up and needed a full replacement. However, despite my immediate action to get the issue resolved, I have now been without a vehicle since [XXX], and as of today, March 10, 2025, there is still no replacement engine available. I have been told that the 6.2-liter engines are on backorder for 5 to 6 months because this issue is happening to so many vehicles. This raises serious concerns: If so many of these engines are failing, why has there been no recall issued? How is it acceptable for GMC to sell vehicles with a known defect that can lead to life-threatening situations on the road? Why am I still paying a $1,300 monthly car note for a vehicle I have not been able to drive in over three months? This is not just a case of vehicle reliability; this is a severe safety hazard. My truck failed suddenly in moving traffic, and based on the widespread engine failures, it appears that this could happen to many other drivers as well, potentially leading to catastrophic accidents. I urge the NHTSA to investigate these engine failures immediately and take appropriate action, including issuing a recall if warranted. I would appreciate an update on INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
blown valve body , i bought the truck less than 6 months ago
Vehicle with out warring lost significant portion of its power and was put in reduced acceleration mode. This is a brand new vehicle less than 12,000 miles. The truck was towed to a dealership and the cause is a failure with the transmission valve body. Truck has sat a the dealer unrepaired for 2+ months.
Vehicle would not go in reverse or shift out of First gear Diagnosed as needing a transmission valve body replacement
The 6.2L engine suffered lifter failure while the vehicle was in motion on the highway. This was after 5 months of ownership and only 2,800 miles on a new 2024 Silverado. The vehicle months prior to the failure emitted a chirping sound like a loose fan belt. Dealer stated it was valve noise. It got louder prior to failure. The dealer repaired the engine and replaced all 8 cylinder lifters. Now the same noise is back.
I purchased my truck in August of 2024, new off of the lot. Within the first week there was an issue with the infotainment system of the truck with muted all audio. This includes all safety features that have audio alerts, navigation, stereo, blinkers. Anything audio is affected. This has now happened to my tuck 6 times since purchasing it. I have researched this online, and it has been a common issue since at least 2022 with no solution by Chevrolet. I have concerns since this affects all safety features built into the truck.
I was taking a left from a stop sign onto a busy boulevard and as soon as I had passed the median I started losing acceleration and it felt like the transmission or engine was glitching or lugging. The engine began to try restarting itself possibly from the auto start-stop however I was now almost at a dead stop in the left hand lane in the dark. I promptly attempted to turn my hazards on, but they would not turn on while it was trying to start so I held the brake pedal down for light. I tried to turn the truck off and turn it back on however the hazards still did not work, none of the gauges went off when the truck was turned off, IE gas and voltage gauges were stuck. After attempting to put it into park and drive a few times I was finally able to turn the truck off, open the door and close it. At this point I was finally able to get the hazards turned on, however, it seemed like they would not stay on when the truck was trying to start so I could get out of the left hand lane. Fortunately someone stopped and we were able to push the truck off onto the median. After about a dozen attempts, the truck finally started, with the last attempt pumping the gas repeatedly for about twenty seconds. I drove hit for another twenty minutes and it drove okay with the engine light on. Onstar diagnostics mentioned possible fuel pump relay. I will note I did test drive a same year GMC equivalent model, and as the dealer went to gas it up, it would not start again. It ended up being the fuel pump relay.
I am writing to formally report a critical safety issue involving the torque converter in my vehicle, which has put my safety and the safety of others at risk. The problem began when I noticed rumbling noises emanating from the underside of the vehicle while driving at slow speeds on any type of road. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed on the vehicle to indicate an issue. This lack of advance notice left me unaware of the potential danger, increasing the risk of an accident. Upon having the vehicle inspected by a certified dealership, it was confirmed that the torque converter had come apart. This malfunction significantly compromised the vehicle’s drivability and posed a serious safety hazard. Sudden loss of power or reduced control, which could occur due to such a failure, puts both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. I am deeply concerned about the implications of this issue for other vehicles that may have similar defects. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to determine if it represents a broader safety concern and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent further incidents. Please feel free to contact me for any additional details or documentation related to this issue. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] GMC, Sierra, 2018, and [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Every time I tow my travel trailer within 150 miles or so I will get a message that the Diesel Exhaust fluid (DEF)is low and needs to be filled soon. Within 50 miles of that happening I will get the message that the DEF is low and will be speed limited in 500 miles. When I stop and fill the DEF fluid it only takes about 2.5 gallons which isn't even halfway empty. When the Speed Limited to 65 in xxx miles warning comes on you are unable to view any other safety related information such as tire pressure or temperatures. I took my truck to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. in September and they kept a 6 month old truck for 23 days. They said there is an issue with the DEF software algorithm while towing and they don't have a fix. They have a technical service bulletin that tells them to instruct customers not to add DEF until they get the Speed Limited in xxx miles . In other words don't fill it up when it says it's empty. The DEF system is a government requirement and the manufacturer should be required to ensure that their system is accurate and working under all driving conditions.
The automatic power running board of my vehicle has been coming loose. I took the vehicle to my dealership to get serviced. They said they tightened the bolts, and that the board is still loose. They also say there is nothing else they can do to fix the issue. This seems like a significant risk, as this component of the body of my car is at risk of coming apart further due to rattling while driving. I would like your help figuring out a safe solution.
Vehicle cut off while driving down the highway and wouldn’t restart. Had to be towed to dealer with a faulty fuel pump control module
Less than 9,000 miles on a 2024 Silverado Trailboss and the Transmission goes out. Truck goes into limp mode, which is dangerous if you are on a highway. The new truck has been sitting at a Chevy dealership for 3 months waiting on a replacement part (valve). Have an incident number with GM, and they are pleasant on the phone, but they never call back with information when they say they will.
I purchased my vehicle from Mak Haik Chevrolet 11711 Katy Fwy. Houston, TX 77079 on [XXX]. Approximately 4 months my Check Engine Light came on and I brought my Truck to Mak Haik Chevrolet to have it checked out. The Service Department could not figure out why the Check Engine Light had came on. They did complete the Recall N242435631 regarding a need to update the radio and serial communication firmware on my truck. On Saturday November 9th 2024, I brought my truck into Mak Haik Chevrolet for the 2nd oil change at approximately 10,000 miles, and the technician could not get the truck to go into reverse. I was given a loaner vehicle and told that they would contact me about the issue once their transmission technician could look my truck on Monday. I was contacted on Monday November 11th2024, and told that the Valve Body in the transmission was defective. Jim Cox, Service Advisor with Mak Haik Chevrolet, explained that he could not find the part, as this is a big issue with Chevrolet across the Country, and he would let me know when he has access to the part. I asked about replacing the transmission instead, and Jim explained that he could not get those in either? Mak Haik Chevrolet has had my truck since November 9th, 2024. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6
The forward collision warning light just came on and has been on for five days. Nothing happened, no wreck, no bumping into anything. I have researched and found others that have had the same problem. I tried removing the F11 fuse and leaving it out for 15 minutes as well as replacing it. I’ve insured that the windshield is clean and cameras are not blocked. I’ve used the settings in the main screen to turn the option on and off and it still stays on. I’ve checked for updates but didn’t find any. I called the dealership and they couldn’t help and said bring the truck in.
Blown transmission valve body at 8000 total miles. Truck went into limp mode and will not reverse. Can not be safely driven. Has been sitting at dealership for 2 months now waiting for parts from GM. National backorder no ETA.
THE TRUCK FAILED GO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. HAD TO PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE. WHEN I TRIED TO GO FORWARD THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED AND THEN SHIFTED INTO LIMP MODE. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE TRUCK FOR OVER 8 WEEKS NOW AND I AM TOLD THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK-ORDER ON THE NEW VALVE BODY BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF TRUCKS REQUIRING REPLACEMENTS.
