MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 60 MPH WHEN SHE SAW A DEER IN THE ROAD - SHE SWERVED AND BRAKED HITTING THE DEER IN THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT AREA ABOVE DRIVERS FRONT TIRE AND BOTH DRIVER SIDE DOORS. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE AND HOLD HER IN PLACE.
ANTIFREEZE OVERFLOW HAS A LEAK AND IS BUBBLING OVER THE ENGINE LIGHT ON EVEN AFTER TAKING IT TO CHEVY DEALER. CAR STUTTERED AND HAD BAD SMELL AIR DOES NOT GET COOL WE HAD TO PULL OVER AND THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED THE CAR WOULD NOT START
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE ACCORDING TO OUR MECHANIC. WHEN AN ADULT IS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WITH THE CAR TURNED ON AND STATIONARY, SOMETIMES, THE AIRBAG SYSTEM DOES NOT TURN ON AS IF IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE A PERSON THERE. IF THE CAR IS THEN PUT INTO DRIVE, THE AIRBAG SYSTEM STILL REMAINS OFF. OTHER TIMES, THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WILL TURN ON AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DRIVE AND THEN TURN OFF RANDOMLY DURING THE DRIVE WHILE SOMEONE IS STILL SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN OBVIOUS ISSUE AS THE AIRBAG MAY NOT ACTIVATE IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THERE IS INDEED SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS JUMP STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO GERRY WOOD HONDA (414 JAKE ALEXANDER BLVD SOUTH, SALISBURY, NC 28147) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V257000 (EQUIPMENT, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000.
I'VE REALIZED AND NOTICED IN MY VEHICLE; THAT SOME THINGS AREN'T ELECTRONIC SET CORRECT. MY AIR BAG LIGHT FOR PASSENGER; DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER. SOME DAYS IT WILL BE ON AND OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT. MY SCREEN GLITCHES HERE AND THERE AND NOT WORKING CORRECTLY EVEN WITH TOUCH. A FEW BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WILL ARE NOT AS WELL WORKING FOR SOME REASON. MY FUEL GAGE FOR MILES CHANGES AND NOT SET UP CORRECTLY WITH PUMP. IT WILL SHOW 280 WHEN FULL THE. MOVE UP MAYBE 15 MINUTES LATER THEN BACK DOWN. NOT LIKE IT WAS WHEN I FIRST PURCHASE MY VEHICLE.
2015 HATCHBACK 'MY LINK'/INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM JUST 'FROZE'/PUSHING ON SCREEN TO ACTIVATE USUAL FUNCTIONS BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TR
I HAVE A 2015 CHEVROLET SONIC. EVERY TIME I'VE BEEN INTO THE CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED, THE CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER UNDERINFLATES MY TIRES. THE CHEVROLET MANUFACTURER CALLS FOR 38 PSI IN ALL FOUR TIRES. THE CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER SETS THE PSI IN ALL FOUR TIRES AT 35 PSI. NOW, I'M QUESTIONING ALL OIL AND LUBE SERVICE CENTERS. ARE THEY ALSO UNDERINFLATING TIRES? THIS HAPPENED LAST ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO. I'VE USED THREE DIFFERENT SERVICE CENTERS SINCE I"VE OWNED THE CAR. WE OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SONIC. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, WE NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING SENSOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (CHEVROLET -5925 US 90/ MILTON, FL 32583) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE CODES (DTC C0186, C0196, C0287) APPEARED. WE WAS INFORMED THAT ISN'T A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THIS MODELS.( AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS ARE A SAFETY DEVICE, THIS FAULT SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE). WE FOUNT A SERVICE BULLETIN : SB-10059177-1527 FROM GM FOR THE FAILURE.
SHIFTER KNOB BUTTON STICKING. THE BUTTON STICKS TO WHERE THE CAR CAN BE SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR. IT CAUSES A PROBLEM TO WHERE YOU CAN NOT PULL KEY OUT OF IGNITION WITH BUTTON STUCK IN
THE FUEL INJECTOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AFTER ONLY HAVING MY CAR FOR 6MONTH.
YESTERDAY 9-9-2018, I STARTED CAR, DROVE IT ONE BLOCK AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. CAR HAS 30K MILES, NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, AND NEVER HAD ANY SAFETY PROBLEM. DEALER SAYS IT WENT OUT OF WARRANTY 5-26-2018........
WHEN AIR CONDITIONING IS TURNED ON CALL LOSES POWER IF STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN YOU CAN PRESS THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN CAR IS VERY SLOW TAKING OFF AND SOMETIME WINDOW CONTROL DON'T WORK. AIR-CONDITION BLOWS HOT AIR AT TIMES.

STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT LOCK IN PLACE LOCK BAR WILL NOT LOCK THE STEERING CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO DROP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY
HELLO, THE CHEVY SONIC DASH AN INFORMATION CENTER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, THERE IS NO RADIO , NO TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS , NO SEAT BELT INDICATOR AN DASH GETS REALLY DIM AT TIMES , ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAPPENED ALL AT ONCE . I TRIED CALLING MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER BUT THEY KEEP SAYING MY VIN IS NOT EFFECTED. BUT ALL THE OTHER MAKES OF THIS MODEL OF THAT YEAR IS HAVING THE SAME RECALL ISSUES . PLEASE HELP !!!. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AN EVER CAR RIDE IS UNPLEASANT AN WE DONT FEEL SAFE .
VEHICLE DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE IN MOTION HOWEVER MOTION IS TRIGGERING THE ENGINE TO STAY ON OR AT TIMES DISAPPEAR FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. CONSTANT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING CODE IS P0011. I HAVE BEEN TO GENERAL MOTORS DEALERSHIPS AS THEY REFUSE ME TO GO OUTSIDE THEIR DEALERS FOR REPAIRS; RESULTS POSSIBILITY OF DENYING ME COVERAGE UNDER MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE PUT IN CASE AFTER CASE WITH THEIR COMPLAINTS AND ONLY RESULTS INTO SOMETHING I ALREADY DO IS 'SIMPLY' CALL DEALERSHIP. I AM DRIVING A VERY UNSAFE UNPREDICTABLE VEHICLE THAT IS NOT BEING FIXED. CAR IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD AND THE RADIATOR IS RUSTED/CORRODED. THIS KIND OF CORROSION SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A CAR LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD. I KEPT SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, SO I STARTED MONITORING THE COOLANT LEVELS. I WAS ADDING MORE THAN A GALLON OF COOLANT EACH MONTH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. AN INSPECTOR FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED CRUCIAL ABS FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,603. *TT

THE CONTACT STATED SHE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A CONSISTENCE OF WHITE SNOW UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DYER CHEVROLET (1000 US-1, VERO BEACH, FL 32960, (772) 617-4793) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
VEHICLE ALARM SOUNDING. WITH ALL DOORS SHUT PROPERLY. I PUSH THE LOCK DOOR CONTROL ON THE KEY 2X TO ENABLE THE HORN TO SOUND INDICATING THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED AND SECURED WITH ALARM AS IT SHOULD. AS OF 28 OCT 2015 I DO THE SAME AND NOW ALARM IS GOING OFF AS IF A DOOR IS OPEN OR SOMEONE IS BREAKING IN. ALL FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND ARE GOOD. VEHICLE IS PARKED IN GARAGE ON LEVEL SURFACE. CHECKED WITH BOTH CAR KEYS TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T A KEY ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE RED SIGNAL LIGHT IN THE CAR INDICATING ALARM IS ON FLASHES MORE BRIGHTLY THAN USUAL. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SECURE MY VEHICLE. THANK YOU FOR YOU TIME.
SHIFT BUTTON STICKS. CAN NOT REMOVE KEY, CAN NOT SHIFT VEHICLE INTO PARK. SHIFT BUTTON WAS REDESIGNED BY GENERAL MOTORS PART # 42423234 BUT THEY WILL NOT RECALL! THIS HAPPENS TO EVERY CHEVROLET SONIC.
CAR HAS ROUGH IDLE AND WHEN PARKED RUNNING THE CAR IT STALLS OUT. ALSO AFTER PUTTING GAS IN THE GAS TANK THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER TO START. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON NOW TOO. THE CAR WANTS TO STALL AT INTERSECTIONS AND IN TRAFFIC.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SDM MODULE NEEDED TO BE CHECKED FOR THE LATEST SOFTWARE VERSION AND UPDATED SOFTWARE POSSIBLY NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. A SERVICE BULLETIN FROM GM WAS LOCATED FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3212344697. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,940.
WE OWN A CHEVY SONIC AT ROUNG 28000 MILES THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD GET STUCK AND NOT POP OUT; ONE LEAVING THE CAR IN GEAR, TWO NOT ALLOWING YOU TO REMOVE THE KEY AFTER YOU HAVE "PARKED" AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. BECAUSE THE BUTTON DOES NOT POP OUT THE CAR STAYS IN GEAR AND THUS EVEN AFTER PARKING AND TURNING THE ENGINE OFF THE CAR CAN SHIFT AND ROLL OUT OF GEAR. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON ALL YEAR SONICS. THE BUTTON STUCK, WHILE WE DROVE, AND PARKED. WE THEN HAD THE PARK REPLACED. THE SECOND BUTTON SNAPPED AT THE BASE TWO MONTHS LATER!!!! NOW AFRIAD TO USE THE CAR. I BELIEVE ONLY REPLACING THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT WILL MAKE THIS PROBLEM GO AWAY. THE BUTTONS JUST DONT WORK.
HORN DOES NOT WORK. DOES NOT WORK WHEN USING SMART KEY/FAB. NO ACCIDENT OR ADVERSE EVENT FROM THE PROBLEM AS OF YET. PRESENTS A DANGER WHEN HORN IS NEEDED TO PREVENT A POSSIBLE COLLISION WITH OTHER MOTORISTS AND/OR PEDESTRIANS.
OUR VEHICLE WAS HIT WHILE IN MOTION AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET ON THE DRIVER SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT DIDN'T YIELD AT A STOP INTERSECTION. SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE OF OUR THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. MY HEAD BOUNCED OFF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CAUSING INJURY THAT I DIDN'T SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR. CHILD IN BACKSEAT DRIVER SIDE HIT HEAD AS WELL, AND DID SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. OUR VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE, AND HAD TO BE TOWED FROM THE SCENE.
I HAD JUST PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AT THE GROCERY STORE, I PRESSED THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFT STICK AND ATTEMPTED TO PUT IT INTO PARK, HOWEVER THE STICK GOT STUCK AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SHIFT UP PAST THE "R" OR REVERSE POSITION, I COULD NOT PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. I HAD TO CALL SOMEONE TO COME HELP ME GET THE CAR INTO THE PARK POSITION. THIS SHIFT STICK BUTTON WAS GETTING STUCK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THIS BUT IT HAS NEVER GOTTEN STUCK LIKE THAT. I HAVE TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP BUT I DOUBT THEY WILL BE OF ANY HELP.
THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE - THE BODY CONTROL MODULE HAS WENT OUT IN THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY
WHEN SHIFTER FROM ANY GEAR INTO PARK THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER STICKS IN THE DEPRESSED POSITION MAKING IT EASY TO BUMP THE SHIFTER BACK INTO GEAR AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE SHIFTER IF PUT INTO THE PARK POSITION THE VEHICLE WILL NOT RELEASE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION UNTIL AFTER THE BUTTON SLIDES SLOWLY INTO THE LATCHED "NOT DEPRESSED" POSITION. THE ISSUE OCCURS ONLY WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE PARK AND DOES NOT AFFECT ANY OTHER SHIFTER POSITION.
THE HEADRESTS ARE TOO TALL AND WIDE. THEY OBSTRUCT VISIBILITY WHEN BACKING UP AND WHEN CHANGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.

KEY GETS WARM ON SHORT DRIVE AND HOT ON DRIVES OVER 90 MINUTES COMBINED CITY AND HIGHWAY. WHEN I STOP THE CAR AND TAKE THE KEY OUT, THE METAL SHAFT THAT GOES INTO THE IGNITION IS HOT

THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. CAR WAS RUNNING WHILE LISTENING TO RADIO. ONCE IT WAS CUT OFF, I COULD NOT LOCK THE CAR OR CUT IT ON AGAIN. IT COMPLETELY DIED.
THE SHIFTING GEAR GETS STUCK, AND IT CANNOT BE MOVED FROM PARK TO DRIVE. TO MOVE THE GEAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND HAVE TO USE A LOT OF STRENGTH TO MAKE THE GEAR CHANGE. BUT SOMETIMES IT GETS SO STUCK I HAVE TO WAIT TO MAKE THE CHANGE. WHEN THE CAR IS TURN OFF I HAVE TO WAIT 2-3 MINUTES TO REMOVE THE KEY. THIS HAPPENS ON AND OFF FOR NO REASON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SONIC. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS OVER THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT INJURED HIS RIGHT HAND AND RIGHT FOOT, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER; HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED AN INVESTIGATOR TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO DRIVER'S ERROR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY. NO COLLISION ONCE SO EVER, POLICE AND I AGREED THERE WAS NO PHYSICALLY INDICATION ON WHY THEY WENT OFF. AS WELL AS THE GM INSPECTOR COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING EITHER. STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM GM.
2015 CHEVROLET SONIC HATCHBACK LTZ- FUEL FILLER TUBE LEAKING AT TANK CONNECTION, CAUSING GAS TO SPILL OUT ON GROUND. COULD BE A POTENTIAL A FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZZARD. DISCOVERED WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED. RAN AN ODBII CODE CHECK INDICATING A P0442 ERROR "EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK-SMALL". OBSERVED GAS FLOWING TO THE GROUND AS THE CAR WAS BEING FILLED WITH GAS. HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 1-WEEK AFTER PURCHASING "USED" WITH 19K MILES.
I WAS DRIVING A 2015 SONIC DEALERSHIP CAR BECAUSE MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR THE WEEKEND, A CAR WAS ABOUT TO HIT ME AND ALL DID WAS I STEPPED ON BRAKES AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND RAN ME INTO A POLE. I HAD JUST TURNED THE CORNER, THE WEATHER WAS GREAT, I WAS ONLY GOING 15 MILES.

ON THE MORNING OF APRIL 07 2016 MY SON WAS DRIVING MY WIFE TO WORK ON HIGHWAY WHEN THEY HEARD A LOUD POP, MADE HIS WAY THROUGH TRAFFIC TO SIDE OF ROAD. HIS 2015 CHEVY SONIC WHICH WE BOUGHT FOR HIM LAST AUGUST 2015 WITH ABOUT 12,000 MILES ON IT HAD A BLOWN REAR PASSENGER HANOOK TIRE. HE CONTACT OUR LOCAL DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE. AND WAS TOLD "YOU HAVE NO WARRANTY COVERAGE IN OUR SYSTEM", HE TRIED TO TELL THEM, BUT WAS RUDELY TOLD "WELL IF YOUR PARENTS HAD PURCHASED OR HAS A TIRE WARRANTY WE COULD HELP YOU". WELL THAT'S A LIE GM COVER TIRES UNDER THEIR 3YR/30,000 MILE WARRANTY PROGRAM I HAVE SUBMITTED PICTURES OF THE TIRES, WHICH I TOOK EARLIER THIS MORNING WHEN I GOT HOME. I WANT THE TIRE REPLACED THE DEALER IS NOT STANDING BY THEIR OWN WARRANTY PROGRAM AND PER MY SON WAS NOT TO CONCERNED WHEN HE TOLD THEM THE ISSUE NOR OFFERED PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
TAKATA RECALL. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MAY,NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP BECAUSE IT KEEPS DYING. IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED ABOUT 8 TIMES NOW AND HAD TO GET TOWED TO THE CHEVY GARAGE.NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN PLUGED IN TO THE CAR. IT IS BRAND NEW. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
