THROTTLE STICKING. I SEE MAI=NY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFOIR GM HAS TO FIX THE PROBLEM???*AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM. THE PARKING BRAKE WILL NOT HOLD. OWNER HAS TO TAKE THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE PARKING BRAKE EVERY 5,000 MILES. OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER, AND OWNER WAS TOLD THAT THE PARKING BRAKE HAS BEEN REDESIGNED, AND TO BRING IT IN FOR AN EVALUATION. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
AT LOW SPEEDS, ANTI- LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE. THIS CAUSES BRAKE FAILURE AND INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES. BECAUSE OF MANY NEAR ACCIDENTS, WE HAVE SINCE PULLED OUT THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKE FUSE. THIS WAY THE BRAKES WILL AT LEAST STOP THE VEHICLE. *JB
THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WINDOWS HAVE DEFECTS. THE CONSUMER HEARD A POPPING NOISE WHEN ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN, AND THEN THE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN. THE WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS HALF WAY. THE DRIVER SIDE HAS BEEN REPAIRED. *TT
THE BEARING AND THE HUB ASSEMBLY HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. AS A RESULT THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. BEARING AND HUB ASSEMBLY, FRONT WHEEL BOTH REPLACED. *TT
THROTTLE STICKS CLOSED REQUIRING EXCESSIVE FORCE TO PUSH THROTTLE PEDAL. THIS CAUSES SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN YOU GET PAST THE STUCK AREA. *JB
SCRAPING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF VEHICLE DETERMINED TO BE PARK BRAKE SHOE CONTACTING DRUM WHEN PARKING BRAKE NOT APPLIED. WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY WITH RE-DESIGNED PARTS, BUT FAILED AGAIN. PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT HOLD. *JB
I HAVE A 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE WITH AN ABS BRAKE MODULE FAILURE. THE MOTOR/PUMP THAT CONTROLS THE ABS BRAKES WON'T TURN OFF. IT KEEPS RUNNING EVEN WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF. MY ABS LIGHT TURNS ON AND ABS BRAKES ARE NOW NOT OPERATIVE. I READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE ON 2001 MODEL CHEVY/GMC FULL SIZE SUV/PICKUPS. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS DUE TO ABS BRAKE FAILURES.*AK

ABS BRAKES ACTIVATE AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES. ALSO HUMMING NOSIE FROM ABS SYSTEM. *NM
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED WITH 21000 MILES. PARKING BRAKE WAS'NT OPERABLE AND WAS REPAIRED BY DEALER TO CLOSE SALE. PARKING BRAKE INOPERABLE 30000 MILES LATER. NEEDS LEFT REAR HUB REPLACED, RIGHT REAR WAS SALVAGEABLE. DEALER STATED IT WAS NOT REPAIRABLE UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. DURING REPAIRS I SEARCHED WEB AND FOUND IT WAS NOT JUST MY VEHICLE. *AK
THE ABS BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THE SENSOR, THE ROTORS, AND BEARINGS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *NM THE DEALER FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING THE PROBLEM. *TT
I OWN A 2001 CHEVY TAHOE, THE HEATER BLOWER WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN AFTER THE KEY IS OUT. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE SHOP 4 TIMES NOW WITH DEALERS AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE HEATER CONTROL HEAD AND THAT DIDN'T FIX IT, THEN THEY REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER TWICE BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP, THEN THEY REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR AND THAT STILL DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND SICK OF RUNNING UP CHARGES TO FIX SOMETHING THAT EVEN THE DEALERS CAN'T FIX. *JB
HEAD-ON COLLISION AT 50 MPH AND AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING PASSENGER IN THE REAR SEAT ADJUSTED THE PASSENGER SEAT AND NOTICED SPARKS COMING FROM UNDER THE SEAT. LATER, THE SPARKS TURNED INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE BECAUSE THE WIRES KEPT IGNITING.*AK
ABS MODULE, TRANSMISSION, PARKING BRAKE, THROTTLE BODY, WINDOWS, REAR A/C, STEERING SUSPENSION. SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WE HAVE HAD TO SPEND OVER $4000.00 ON REPAIRS THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO SAFETY. *JB
REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT AND THEREFORE IS NOT SAFE FOR USE. THIS HAS BEEN SERVICED YET STILL HANGS UP FREQUENTLY. HAVE TO REMOVE PANEL TO GET ACCESS TO APPLY TEMPORARY FIX.*AK
THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. THIS WENT UNNOTICED UNTIL THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST TWICE DAILY. WHEN THIS OCCURRED DRIVER HAD DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS TO BE TURNED WITH FORCE, IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION , LOCKED INTO UNLOCK. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILURE. VHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE AND REQUIRED TOWING TO REPAIR FACILITY. TRANSMISSION REQUIRED REPLACEMENT.*AK
I BOUGHT A 2001 CHEVROLEX TAHOE USED IN MARCH OF 2004. SINCE THEN THE FRONT SEAT BELTS HAVE NOT WORKED PROPERLY. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 6 TIMES FOR 3 REPLACEMENTS. STILL NOT FIXED. GM HAS MOVED MY ISSUE TO CUSTOIMER RELATIONS AND I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK ON NOVEMEBER 8 AND AS ON NOVEMEBER 29 I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED BACK. CONTACT PERSON AT GM IS CRAIG KING (813)635-4084. DRIVER BELT LOCKS UP AS YOU TRY TO PUT IT ON AND SOMETIMES CAN NOT GET BELT ON. PASSANGER BELT LOCKS UP ON PASSANGER AND WILL NOT UNLUCK EVEN WHEN PASSANGER LEANS BACK. PERSON GETS TRAPPED AGAINST SEAT AND REALESING BELT FROM BUCKLE ONLY WAY FOR PERSON TO MOVE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING NEED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
POWER TRAIN:TRANSMISSION, WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE, HAVE TO HAVE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. THIS WAS WITHOUT ANY NOISE OR FAILURE PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. THANKFUL I WAS NOT DRIVING WITH MY KIDS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. I HAD JUST HAD THIS SERVICED IN MARCH OF 2004. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THIS HAPPEND, AND NOW I AM FACED WITH A 2000.00 REPAIR BILL.*AK
PREMATURE EMRGENCY BRAKE FAILURE ON 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE. I HAVE NOTICED A VERY LOUD "METAL TO METAL" NOISE. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE "EMERGENCY" BRAKE WAS WORN OUT. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET REVEALED OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE ON 2001 TAHOES.*AK
I BOUGHT A 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE IN MARCH OF 2004. SINCE THAT TIME THE FRONT SEAT BELTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 2 TIMES. CURRENTLY THE TAHOE IS IN HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET IN HAWTHORNE NJ, TRYING TO GET IT REPAIRED FOR THE THIRD TIME. I HAVE CONTACTED CHVROLET THEMSELVES ABOUT THIS. I AM WORRIED THAT IT WILL BE UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED. IF THAT HAPPENS CHEVROLET SEEMS RESISTANT TO STAND BEHIND THE SAFETY DEFECT OF THERE MANUFACTORED TRUCK. MY TRUCK OBVIOUSLY CAN NOT BE RELEASED FROM THE DEALER UNTIL FIXED. OCTOBER 13 WAS THE 5TH DAY IN THE SHOP FOR THE TRUCK AND IT WAS RETURNED THERE THAT DAY AND IS STILL THERE.*AK
I HAVE A 2001 TAHOE RECENTLY THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. LATER THAT DAY WHEN THE IGNITION WAS OFF, THE ABS PUMP WAS STILL RUNNING. I DISCONNECTED THE 60A FUSE THAT FEEDS THE ABS SYSTEM AND IT STOPPED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT WITH 52,000 MILES IT WAS NOT COVERED, AND WANTED $1000 TO REPLACE IT. WHILE LOOKING ONLINE, I FOUND ENDLESS COMPLAINTS ON MULTIPLE WEB BOARDS CLAIMING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE FOUND A COMPANY "CIRCUIT SOLUTIONS" THAT CAN FIX THE PROBLEM, A BAD SWITCH THAT THEY CALL AN INADEQUATE SWITCH FOR $100. THEY SAY ON THIER SITE THAT THE SWITCH IS TOO SMALL FOR THE POWERFUL ABS MOTOR. THE NEW SWITCH THEY INSTALL IS SUPPOSEDLY 30% HIGHER RATED THAN THE ONE USED.*AK
I HAVE A 2001 CHEVY TAHOE I COULD NOT GET MY CAR INSPECTED BECAUSE THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT WORK .I TOOK IT TO MY REPAIR SHOP AND FOUND THE FACTORY PARKING BRAKE CLIPS THAT HOLD THE BRAKE SHOE IN ALIGNMENT WERE NOT DESIGNED PROPERLY. THEY NOW HAVE AN UPGRADE CLIP AFTER THE FACT. THE BRAKE SHOE CAUSES $200 OR MORE IN DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR AND PADS AND MORE CONCERNING THAN THAT IS YOU DON'T KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM UNTIL THE PARKING BRAKE DOESN'T WORK! GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUS ENOUGH TO HAVE A RECALL OR WARRANTY THE REPAIR THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU DAVID. *NM

THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS FOUND DEFECTIVE WHEN APPLIED, THE VEHICLE WOULD STILL MOVE AT WILL, EVEN WITH THE BRAKE PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. *AK *SC
I OWN A 2001 TAHOE, PURCHASED FROM ED BOZARTH CHEVROLET IN GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO. DURING LATE JULY OR EARLY AUGUST, I HEARD A TV NEWS STORY SAYING THAT TAHOES INCLUDING MY YEAR AND TYPE HAD BEEN RECALLED DUE TO A CORROSION PROBLEM AFFECTING THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKING OF THE VEHICLE. AT THAT TIME I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL HE/THEY KNEW OF AND THEREFORE NO PROBLEM. ON OCTOBER 4, 2005, I PULLED UP YOUR WEBSITE AND FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ADVISORY # 05068 REGARDING THE ABOVE SITUATION. I THEN CLICKED ON THE GET SUMMARY BUTTON AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS SITUATION. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND WAS AGAIN ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY TRUCK BY THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE ALSO STATED THAT THEY WOULD FIND OUT RIGHT AFTER A MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT WHICH IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE FIRST CONVERSATION I HAD WITH HIM (AT THAT TIME HE INDICATED THAT THE MEDIA ALWAYS"JUMPED THE GUN). SO THE QUESTION IS, IS THERE A RECALL OR NOT AND HOW DO I GET MY TRUCK FIXED IF NECESSARY?*JB

ABS COMPUTER MODULE CAUSES THE PUMP TO CONTINUOUSLY RUN THE ABS LIGHT TO TURN ON. IT SEAMS THAT MANY 2001 TAHOES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AS PER THE PARTS DEPARTMENT ATTENDANT AT MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER. AFTER DISCOVERING THAT THE PART WAS ABOUT $800.00 AT THE DEALER, I CONTACTED MANY SALVAGE YARDS AND THEY ALL HAD MEANY TAHOES, BUT THEY SAID THAT THE ABS MODULE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PARTS TO SALE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, AND FOUND THAT MEANY PEOPLE WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION. I BELIVE THAT THERE SHUDE BE A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *AK
HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM VEHICLE. CONSUMER CALLED NEAREST CERTIFIED DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE ABS MODULE.*AK
DT: THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT ABS BRAKE PROBLEM. AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE BRAKES STUCK AS IF ACTIVATED. THIS RESULTED IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. CONSUMER CALLED DEALER, AND DEALER INDICATED THAT WHEEL SPEED SENSORS WERE CORRODED DUE TO ROAD SALT. CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED CHEVROLET/GM. DEALER WOULD NOT PERFORM REPAIRS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL. *AK
I RECENTLY TRADED MY FORD EXPEDITION FOR CHEVROLET TAHOE. UPON OPENING REAR TAIILGATE ONE NIGHT NOTICED THAT THE HINGES THAT HOLD GLASS TO TAILGATE HAD SEPARATED FROM VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AFTER READING OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINTS.*AK
2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS AN INOPERATIVE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM. PROBLEM IS CURRENTLY BE INVESTIGATED AND REPAIRED.*AK
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2001 CHEVY TAHOE, I HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH MY PARKING BRAKE. IT NEVER HAS WORKED PROPERLY, HAVING SLIPPED ON NUMEROUS OCCATIONS. WHEN I PUSH IT DOWN, IT GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WENT TO HAVE IT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY ON 12/7/002, BUT IT CONTINUED TO FAIL. CURRENTLY, THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON IT THAT SAYS THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE INSPECTED, AND CHEVROLET HAS PUT NO DEMAND ON THE DEALERS TO INSPECT THEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.*AK
BOTH FRONT DOOR POWER WINDOWS FAIL TO OPERATE. THE MOTORS MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AND THE WINDOWS WILL NOT FULLY OPEN OR CLOSE. THE GLASS PANELS APPARENTLY ARE NOT ATTACHED AS THEY CAN BE MOVED BY HAND. THE FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED WITHIN TWO DAYS OF EACH OTHER AND HAVE BEEN VARY RARELY BEEN OPENED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED.*AK
PARKING BRAKE / EMERGENCY ON 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE IS INOPERABLE. PARKING BRAKE HAS NEVER BEEN USED ON THIS VEHICKE. BROWN AND BROWN ADVISED 300.00 DOLLARS TO PUT NEW BRAKE PADS ON EMERGENCY BRAKE.*AK
ABS MOTOR FAILED ON MY VEHICLE. REPLACEMENT MOTOR WAS ESTIMATED TO COST ROUGHLY $1,000. I HAVE HEARD THIS WAS COMMON WITH CHEVRILE, TAHOE VEHICLES.*AK
WHEN SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF T ABS MOTOR CONTINUED TO RUN. AS A RESULT, ABS SENSOR LIGHT STAYED ON. *AK
MY 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE LT 4WD WOULD HAVE ITS ABS BRAKES ENGAGE AT SPEEDS OF 3 TO 7 MPH. THI HAPPENED HUNDREDS OF TIMES AND CAUSE IT TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT TIMES. THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BY REPLACING THE ABS SPEED SENSORS. I AM AWARE THAT GM HAS A RECALL FOR CANADIAN TRUCKS REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM, HOWEVER I WAS REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OUT OF MY OWN POCKET.
I HAVE ONLY HAD MY 2001 TAHOE FOR A MONTH OR LESS AND ONE DY WHEN STARTING MY VEHCILE THE ABS LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT. WHEN THE CAR IS OFF SOME TYPE OF MOTOR IS STILL RUNNING. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE BSCM THIS CONTROLS THE ABS SYSTEM. IT WILL COST ME $1000. TO FIX. I HAVE READ WHERE OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THERE BRAKES. I NEED HELP!*AK
THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE FAILED AND WOULD NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS PARKED ON A HILL. THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONSUMER THAT THEY REPLACED THE MECHANICAL PART, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER RESOLVED. *AK THE REAR BRAKES WERE REPLACED WITH FACTORY PARTS. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT. THE A/C WAS INOPERATIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE RIGHT WHILE IN MOTION AND THE BRAKE SHOES WERE WORN AND SCORED THE REAR ROTORS. *SC
UPON OPENING THE LIFTGATE GLASS ON MY 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE THE PASSENGER SIDE BODY-TO-GLASS HINGE SEPARATED FROM THE GLASS. THE GLASS WILL LATCH BUT DOES NOT MAKE A WEATHERPROOF SEAL AND CAN NOT BE OPENED.*AK
THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT VEHICLE WOULD ROLL ON ANY INCLINE WHILE THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL, THE CONSUMER PUSHED THE PARK/EMERGENCY BRAKE TO THE FLOOR AND TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE REGULAR BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN ROLLED AWAY. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TOOK THE DEALER HE WAS TOLD THE LEFT REAR ROTOR DRUM ASSEMBLY AND BOTH SIDE SHOES WERE WORN BEYOND LIMITS. *JB
ABS BRAKES ENGAGE AT ANY SPEED UNDER 10 MPH. I AM AWARE OF THE CANADIAN RECALL ON THIS MODEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING TO FIX A MANUFACTURER DEFECT MYSELF. I HAVE PULLED THE ABS FUSE AND COMPLETELY DISABLED ABS BRAKING. *NM
THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE WHEN THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO. 2001 CHEVROLET TAHOE / 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THEY ACTIVATE ON MODERATE BRAKING ON DRY PAVEMENT. THIS INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE. I HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM. INCIDENT DATE IS AN ESTIMATE. I NOTICED THAT GM HAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM - BUT IT DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS NOT REGISTERED IN A STATE THAT SALTS THEIR ROADS. MY VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AND OPERATED IN MAINE (RECALL STATE), BUT I HAD IT REGISTERED IN SOUTH DAKOTA - I AM ACTIVE DUTY NAVY. *JB
BOUGHT A USED 2001 TAHOE JUNE 4, 2004. OPENED REAR GLASS ON HATCH MANY TIMES WITH NO PROBLEMS. IN LATE JULY MY HUSBAND OPENED AND ONE OF THE HINGES BROKE. THE METAL ACTUALLY TORE. TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM THE WHOLE GLASS MUST BE REPLACED, THE HINGE IS PART OF THE GLASS. I HAVE SINCE HEARD "THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE" THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY TAHOE. WHEN THE SERVICE DEPART. AT MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER ORDERED THE NEW GLASS, BY COMPUTER, THE PART # CHANGED MANY TIMES, AS IF MANY CHANGES HAD BEEN MADE AND EVENTUALLY THE PART (GLASS) HAD TO COME DIRECTLY FROM THE GLASS MANUFACTURER. OBVIOUSLY GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT HAD ONE OF MY CHILDREN, OR EVEN MYSELF WITH NOT AS MUCH STRENGTH AS MY HUSBAND OPENED THE GLASS ON THE HATCH,WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CATCH AND HOLD THE END WITH THE BROKEN HINGE RESULTING IN THE REMAINING HINGE "TEARING" AND THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS INJURY. MY TAHOE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY SO I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE 700.00 BILL THAT I TRULY FEEL GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *JB
IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS, I HAVE HAD THREE FLAT TIRES. THE FIRST WAS A COMPLETELY SHREDDED ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS 65 MPH. COSTCO REPLACED THE TIRE, WHICH WAS ONLY 7 MONTHS OLD ON MAY 3, 2004. A MONTH LATER, SOMETIME IN JUNE, A SECOND FLAT, ON THE FREEWAY. COSTCO CLAIMED IT WAS A NAIL. THEY SAID THEY PATCHED IT UP AND SENT US ON OUR WAY. THE THIRD FLAT, JUST YESTERDAY ON JULY 18, ANOTHER FLAT. WE TOOK THIS TIRE AND TO ANOTHER TIRE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE VALVE STEM. WE ASKED THAT THEY CHECK THE TIRE, WHICH SUPPOSEDLY COSTCO PATCHED BACK IN JUNE AND THEY SAID THE TIRE HAD NOT BEEN PATCHED AND THAT THE AIR GAGE WAS REPLACED. WHAT WE INFER IS THAT COSTCO KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THESE VALVE STEMS, LIED ABOUT IT AND LET US GO ON OUR WAY. KNOWING FULL WELL THAT WE STILL HAD TWO TIRES WITH BAD STEM VALVES. THIS THIRD AND FINAL EXAMPLE IS PROOF. THREE OUT OF FOUR TIRES GONE BACK IN A PERIOD OF 10 MONTHS IS UNUSUAL. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS A TIRE DEFECT OR A COSTCO, MAN-MADE DEFECT AND NEED HELP. *JB
REAR TAILGATE GLASS HINGE SEPARATED FROM PLASTIC MATERIAL IN WHICH IT WAS EMBEDDED. FAILURE RESULTS IN IMPROPER SECURING OF REAR TAILGATE WINDOW, CAN LEAD TO GLASS SEPARATING FROM VEHICLE AT SPEED. GLASS WAS REPLACED. *LA
