FIRST PROBLEM IS THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPS AND STARTS WORKING AT RANDOM TIMES NOT KNOWING HOW FAST YOU'RE GOING. CHEVY SAID THEY WERE FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM BUT WOULD ONLY FIX IT UP TO 80,000 MILES. NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF RECALL DOSE THAT. SECOND PROBLEM IS WHEN I GOT A FLAT TIRE, I NOR THE AUTO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE MAN COULD GET THE SPARE TIRE DOWN. THE CAR STRANDED UNTIL I TOOK THE ENTIRE WHEEL OFF THE CAR AND TO THE REPAIR SHOP TO GET FIXED AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO RE-INSTALL IT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN THE ONLY PLACE THAT CAN ACTUALLY GET IT TO UNLATCH AND ADMITS IT A BAD DESIGN. I'M ALWAYS APPREHENSIVE ABOUT GETTING A FLAT AND BEING STRANDED. *TR
SIGMA STAMPEDE RADIALS FOR MY 04 TAHOE WERE PURCHASED IN FEB. 2009 WHEN MY TRUCK HAD 86,000 MILES. THE TIRES WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 65,000 MILE WARRANTY. AT 133,00 MILES, THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE CAME APART ON THE INTERIOR SIDE WALL ALL THE WAY AROUND WITH 1 SEPARATION ON EXTERIOR SIDE WALL. NO INJURY OR DAMAGE OCCURRED BECAUSE I ALWAYS DRIVE SLOWLY AND WAS ON CITY STREET AT TIME. INSPECTION OF OTHER 3 TIRES SHOWS MANY SLITS/CRACKS ON EXTERIOR SIDEWALLS OF 2 OF 3 TIRES. SELLER HAS DONE SOME COMPENSATION. HOWEVER, I THINK THE TIRE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE SITUATION OF THE TIRE COMING APART COULD BE VERY SERIOUS AT HIGH SPEED. *TR

1) NORMAL DRIVING, SOME HIGHWAY OF NOT MORE THEN 3 HRS IN ONE DIRECTION AND AROUND TOWN. 2-3) EL DORADO ZTR 265/70/16 - TIRE SEPARATION OF 2 OF 4 BOUGHT. A 3RD IS ON ITS WAY TO THE SAME PROBLEM. AVOIDED A CRASH BY ONLY A FEW MILES AS WHEEL VIBRATION WAS EXTREME. I HAD PURCHASED THE TIRES FROM "WHEEL CITY" IN CORONA CA. AND THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I DID CONTACT SOMEONE AT EL DORADO IN PENNSYLVANIA WHO CONNECTED ME WITH A "COOPER" TIRE DEALER IN CALIF. TO PRO-RATE MY DEFECTIVE TIRES. 2 OF 4, ALTHOUGH 4 WERE DESIRED, WERE REPLACED. DOT # TIRE 3: UT72 EMD 0607 G9L1 TIRE 4: UT72 EMD 0607 G09L. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED FOUR COOPER DISCOVERER ATR TIRES, SIZE 265/70R16 IN MARCH OF 2007. ALL FOUR TIRES ARE DRY ROTTED AND THE BELTS ARE EXPOSED. HE IS RETURNING THE TIRES TO THE STORE WHERE THEY WERE PURCHASED. A CRASH HAS NOT OCCURRED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
WHILE DRIVE A 2004 TAHOE WITH APPROX. 14, 000 MILES ON TIRES, PROCEEDING ON A SMOOTH, FLAT SECONDARY ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH, LOW TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ALARM REGISTERED ON THE DASH PANEL. WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF THE ALARM THE TIRE WENT FLAT FROM A SIDEWAL FAILURE OF APPROX. 4 INCHES LONG. I DROVE APPROX. 1/4 MILE ON THE RIM/SIDEWALL TO GAIN A SAFE PLACE TO CHANGE THE FLAT. AFTER WAITING FOR OVER AN HOUR FOR GM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, I CHANGED THE TIRE MYSELF WITH THE AID OF A LOCAL RESIDENT. AFTER CONTACTING GM DEALER, NORTHSTAR CHEVROLET CLIFTON PARK, NY, DISTRICT SERVICE DIRECTOR SAID THAT THE FALIURE WAS FROM ROAD HAZARD AND WOULD NOT PAY FOR REPLACEMENT [$181.39]. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR SAID THE FAILURE WAS FROM THE OUTSIDE IN, GOOD MAN COULD TELL THIS WITH A TIRE WHICH WAS DRIVEN ON THE SIDEWALL FOR APPROX. 1/4 MILE. I STILL HAVE DIGITAL PICTURES OF DAMAGE TIRE.
