TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE PARKED IN THE GARAGE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATED AND STATED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THEY ALSO ADVISED HER TO NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND TWO PEOPLE SUSTAINED INJURIES. SHE BELIEVES THE FUEL PUMP CAUSED THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE EXPLOSION WAS VERY LARGE. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND NUMBER OF CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 11,700.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON MY 2007 TAHOE LTZ WITH 18,500 MILES. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TAHOE WOULD NOT MOVE IN "D", BUT WOULD IN OTHER GEARS. IN "3" I HEADED TO MY DEALER (ABOUT 15 MILES AWAY). "3" WENT OUT WHEN I HAD TO SLOW FOR A LIGHT. I THEN DROVE IN "2" TO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS THE FIRST PROBLEM LIKE THIS THEY HAD SEEN IN A 2007. AFTER INSPECTION, I WAS GIVE TECHNICAL NAMES OF THE TRANSMISSION PARTS THAT HAD TORN UP INSIDE. I RECEIVED THE TAHOE BACK IN 1 WEEK AND WAS PROVIDED A FREE RENTAL CAR BY CHEVROLET. I HAVE NOTHING BUT THE HIGHEST PRAISE FOR MY DEALER, BUT AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN SUCH A MAJOR PROBLEM IN A NEW VEHICLE. I AM SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE A FULL COPY OF ALL WORK DONE FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR
MY 2007 TAHOE IS A PIECE OF ?!@#$%. SINCE I GOT THE TRUCK IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP. MY GAS GAGE FLOATS I CAN START OUT AT OF A TANK AND IT WILL GO UP TO OF A TANK. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHANGED MULTIPLE PARTS AND CAN NOT SEEM TO FIX IT. THE BLOWER IN THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. MY SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND ANOTHER PART HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT MY TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 30 DAYS. I WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER GM VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS SO QUICK TO SELL ME THE TRUCK, NOT THAT QUICK TO HELP ME. I HAVE PICTURE AND VIDEO WITH TIME AND DATE OF TO GAS GAUGE FLOATING. MY GAS GAGE IS THE RECURRING PROBLEM, THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHANGED MULTIPR PARTS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. ON JANUARY 12, 2007, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY REINSTALLED THE CAM SHAFT CLIP INTO THE HARNESS, AND REPLACED THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR. ON NOVEMBER 21, 2007, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CAM SHAFT SENSOR WAS REPLACED AGAIN. ON JANUARY 29, 2008, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO START. IN ADDITION, THE AUTO START REMOTE WOULD NOT WORK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CAM SENSOR AGAIN. SINCE THE LAST REPLACEMENT, THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,948.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE BATTERY CABLES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REQUISITIONED A THIRD PARTY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
HAVE AN 07 CHEVROLET TAHOE. TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT 23,000 MILES. MUST BE A COMMON PROBLEM. FRIEND HAD SAME PROBLEM THIS SUMMER AT 24,000 MILES. MANY COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET. *TR
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVEN'T GOT A RECALL FROM CHEV YET. I FEEL MY VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY TAHOE. SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR THESE ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD WITH THE CAR- ALL WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR - SOME ISSUES ARE ONGOING. THREE OF THE FOUR DOOR HANDLES ARE FRAYED AND CAUSE CUTS. THE CENTER CONSOLE WAS LITERALLY COMING APART AT THE SEAMS. I CAN HEAR THE SOUND OF WIND VERY LOUDLY WITH THE WINDOWS UP. SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR - I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALER (MORENO VALLEY CHEVROLET) ADVISING THEM THAT THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY OPERATING WITH THE KEY FOB AND THAT THE SOUND OF WIND WAS/IS VERY LOUD AND THE TIRES ARE MAKING NOISE. WELL , THEY REPLACED, RESET, AND WHATEVER ELSE TO THE DOOR LOCKS - AND THE ELECTRONIC FOB STILL DID NOT (AND DOES NOT) WORK. EVEN AFTER THREE (OR FOUR) ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS - I HAVE TO USE THE KEY, THE FOB DOES NOT WORK. THE DVD PLAYER PLAYS AT WILL. AT ONE OF THOSE VISITS - WHERE I ADVISED OF EXCESSIVE NOISE, THE DEALER REPLACED THREE OF MY TIRES AND MY DVD PLAYER - WITHOUT MY REQUEST. THE SERVICE TECH SAYS - "OH, THEY HOOKED YOU UP." I ASKED AND ASKED "WHY" THEY REPLACED THESE THINGS AND NO ONE, INCLUDING THE SERVICE MANAGER, HAD AN ANSWER. AND STILL - THE TIRES WEAR UNEVENLY, ARE LOUD, AND THE RIDE IS NOT SMOOTH AND THE DVD PLAYER PLAYS WHEN IT WANTS TO. I TOOK MY CAR TO JIFFY LUBE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE GUY THERE SAID, "ONE DAY, YOUR TIRES ARE GOING TO FALL OFF, THIS (WHAT THE NAME WAS-I CAN'T RECALL) IS BROKEN...IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT FALLS APART." I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER (MORENO VALLEY CHEVY) AND THEY SAID "CANNOT DUPLICATE." NEVER, EVER ANOTHER CHEVY. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE, I WAS DRIVING UP TO A RED LIGHT AND STOPPED COMPLETELY. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE MY TRUCK MADE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE AND WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. IT WOULD GO IN REVERSE AND A LOWER GEAR BUT NOT IN REGULAR DRIVE. I ONLY HAVE 21,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS GIVEN OUT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE BREAKING DOWN THE TRANSMISSION TO SEE WHAT EXACTLY THE PROBLEM IS. *JB
TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 25K MILES. DRIVING AT LOW SPEED AND TURNING A CORNER WHEN I EXPERIENCED A SHARP SHUTTER OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AS THOUGH I HAD RUN OVER SOMETHING THAT DID NOT ALLOW MY WHEELS TO TURN. TRANSMISSION COULD BE SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE BUT THERE WERE NO FORWARD OR REVERSE GEARS. *TR
1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASE OF MY 2007 CHEVY TAHOE THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I ALERTED ONSTAR AS I WAS STRANDED ON THE ROAD. ONSTAR INDICATED THROUGH A PROBE CHECK THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAD MALFUNCTIONED BUT THE PROBLEM WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AND THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND I COULD KEEP DRIVING THE TRUCK. THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND I KEPT DRIVING. SOME TIME LATER ONSTAR WAS ALERTED FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS, I WAS TOLD THE SAME AS BEFORE BY ONSTAR. ABOUT 1 YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THIS TAHOE I WAS STRANDED AGAIN AROUND 10:30P.M. ALONG SIDE AN UNSAFE HIGHWAY WITH MY 3 CHILDREN. ONSTAR WAS CALLED AND AGAIN STATED A TRANSMISSION ERROR THAT WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AND AFTER DRIVING THE LIGHT SHOULD GO OFF. I DROVE THIS TAHOE HOME HAVING TO PULL OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES TO ALLOW MY TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE TO COOL TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE. THE NEXT MORNING THE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND I WAS ON MY WAY TO TAKE THE TAHOE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. 5 MILES OR SO FROM MY HOME THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON AND I ALERT ONSTAR AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO MY NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. AS I PULLED BACK ON THE ROAD THE TRANSMISSION STOPS WORKING IMMEDIATELY AS I AM SITTING IN ON-COMMING TRAFFIC. I QUICKLY PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE AS DRIVE WILL NOT WORK ANY LONGER TO GET MYSELF OUT OF HARMS WAY. CHEVROLET WAS CALLED AND TRANSPORTED MY TRUCK TO THEIR DEALERSHIP AS THIS WAS WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. MY TRUCK STAYED IN THE SHOP THREE DAYS AS THEY HAD TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL WITH MY OWN MONEY. AFTER PICKING MY TRUCK UP FROM BEING REPAIRED I WAS ONCE AGAIN STRANDED ALONG I-95 WITH MY CHILDREN 2 HOURS LATER. AS OF TODAY MY TRUCK IS STILL WAITING TO BE HAULED INTO CHEVROLET. *JB
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY GM WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE WITH CRACKS IN THE DASH! IT IS U SAFE AS ONE IS LOCATED RIGHT AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. WHAT IT I HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND THIS BREAKS AND PARTS FLY AND HU6A PASSENGER. THIS IS NOT SAFE.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS. MOVING FROM PARK OR REVERSE TO DRIVE - ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING. TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN HARD ACCELERATING. TAKEN TO DEALER TWICE AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE A PROBLEM. NO COMPUTER CODES. RESPOND THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE. *JB UPDATED 10/10/07 *TR
BATTERY BEGAN TO GO DEAD. I WOULD CALL ROAD SERVICE TO GET IT RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND *ONSTAR WAS NOTIFIED ON MOST OCCASIONS OF THIS HAPPENING.*ONSTAR WAS NOTIFIED DUE TO THE CONTRACT I HAVE WITH THEM FOR ROADSIDE HELP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ATLEAST SEVEN TIMES.(USING *ONSTAR FOR ASSISTANCE ON ATLEAST THREE OF THESE SEVEN TIMES) I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR HELP WITH THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY. BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE CAR JUST UP AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE(I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT IT)AND THE THING ,OTHER THAN THE SAFETY FACTOR, I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I TRAVEL AND I REALLY NEED A CAR. I CAN'T AFFORD A SECONDARY VEHICLE. MY FAMILY STATED NOR CAN YOU AFFORD TO DIE EITHER!THE CHANCE OF TAKEN THE LIFE OF ANOTHER PERSON,TO ME,FAR EXCEEDS THE FEAR I HAVE OF LOOSING MY ON LIFE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED. THE ONLY TIME HE WAS ABLE TO SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WAS WHEN THE SUN SHINED ON THEM DIRECTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER; HOWEVER, THE DESIGN WAS CHANGED ON THE 2008 VEHICLES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,090 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5.UPDATE 09/10/08 *CW UPDATED 09/17/08. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 35 MPH THE CONTACT PRESS ON THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UP TO 40 MPH. THE CONTACT PRESSED THE BREAK AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURE WITH SEVERAL COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE BATTERY, ALL THE POWER DOOR LOCKS LOCK IT AUTOMATICALLY SETS THE ALARM OFF. WHEN THE CONTACT PLACES HIS LEFT FOOT CLOSE TO THE BREAK PEDAL AND EMERGENCY BRAKE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND CHIMES WOULD COME ON. ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHILE PARKED THE VEHICLES AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH SMOKE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AFTER THE SECOND BATTERY REPLACEMENT AND THE AIR BAG SYSTEM HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. DEALER REFUSES TO PERFORM SERVICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 36,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 15,000. UPDATED 5/20/2010 *CN UPDATED 09/-7/10*JB
CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. JUST CONCERNS LIKE SO MANY OTHER GM CUSTOMERS. THERE IS A CRACK THAT IS AT THE AIRBAG, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THAT KEEPS GETTING BIGGER. CONCERNED THAT AIRBAG MIGHT DEPLOY, OR NOT WORK AT ALL. HAVE CONTACTED GM CORPORATE SEVERAL TIMES TELLING THEM ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING IN THIS SAME AREA. WHEN CONTACTING GM THEY TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS ISSUE, BUT THERE ARE SO MANY CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE COMPLAIN ONLINE. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS COULD HAVE HAPPEN BY USING ARMORALL, IN THAT CASE THE WHOLE CONSOLE WOULD BE CRACKED AND NOT IN CERTAIN PLACES WHERE ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SEEING THE SAME EXACT CRACKS. ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE CONSOLE IS AFFECTED WITH SEVERAL CRACKS. IF GM WAS NOT AWARE, HOW COME SOME OF THEIR CUSTOMERS CONSOLES HAVE BEEN CHANGED OUT BY THE DEALERSHIP? MORE THAN ONCE. THEY TELL ME BECAUSE OF THE MODEL AND THE MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT QUALIFY. THIS IS A MATERIAL ISSUE PLUS A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT AFFECTS THE STABILITY OF AN AIRBAG. THERE ARE EVEN VIDEOS ON U TUBE THAT SHOWS A VISUAL PICTURE. *TR
ALL SIDE ROOF RAIL BAGS HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED WITHOUT ANY REASON AND ACCIDENT . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHENEVER THE CONTACT WOULD EXIT THE VEHICLE, HE WOULD NOTICE THAT THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WOULD SUDDENLY LOCK WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE DOORS WOULD SUDDENLY LOCK WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCKS WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE LOCKS WERE ADJUSTED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
WE HAVE A 2007 CHEVY TAHOE. ONE OF THE REASONS WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IS THAT IT HAS FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS. I USUALLY RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE SENSOR MOST OFTEN INDICATES OFF. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO GET THEM TO ESTABLISH WHAT WAS WRONG, THE CHEVY DEALER SAID THAT MY WEIGHT WAS NOT QUITE ENOUGH TO GET IT TO WORK OR THAT IT WAS POSITIONAL( HOW I SAT). I AM A GROWN WOMAN WHO WEIGHS ABOUT 115 LBS AND AM 5'2".THIS IS NOT THIN BY NORMAL STANDARDS AND IT IS NOT CONSIDERED AN UNUSUAL SIZE. IF IN FACT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT MEANT TO WORK FOR SOMEONE OF MY SIZE THEY SHOULD ADVISE YOU OF THIS. I ASKED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THERE WAS A WRECK AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, WOULD I HAVE TO SUE GM? THEY ARE AVOIDING ME AND I HAVE WRITTEN TO THE CEO OF GM AS ADVISED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I HAVE WRITTEN TO BILL HEARD, THE OWNER OF TOM JUMPER CHEVROLET WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. NO ANSWERS FROM ANYONE. WHAT DO YOU THINK? *JB
VEHICLE IS 13 YEARS OLD WITH NHTSA RECALL NUMBER16V381 STILL NOT FIXED. LISTED AS NO REMEDY, BUT EVERY OTHER CAR WITH THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL HAS A FIX. WE HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD THE RECALL COMPLETED ON IT AND THIS TAHOE STILL HASN'T.
MY 2007 TAHOE HAS HAD A TRANSMISSION/SLIP/BUMPING PROBLEM AND IT WAS FIRST NOTICED BY ME ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I GOT IT BACK IN APRIL. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE THE MORE THAT I DRIVE IT. IT HAS 5900 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP ONCE FOR THE PROBLEM. IT WAS NOT TAKEN CARE OF AND NOW IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT IT HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF YEARS AGO IN THE OLDER VERSIONS. I'M NOT AT ALL HAPPY ABOUT THIS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE MOVING THROUGH A TOUCHLESS CAR WASH WITH THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE REAR LIFTGATE OPENED. THE MACHINE SHATTERED THE GLASS. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED HAND CUTS FROM THE GLASS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT SUGGESTED THAT THERE WAS A BUTTON ABOVE THE LICENSE PLATE THAT LIFTS THE REAR GATE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 10,000.
MAKING A LOUD NOISE IN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AREA. TOOK THE CARTO DEALER AND AND THEY FOUND EXCESSIVE PLAY IN LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING. THEY REPLACED LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING AND HUB. *AK
2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE INSTRUMENT PANEL DEFECT. CUSTOMER STATES THAT SHE COULD NOT SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IN THE DAYLIGHT. *KB THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO READ ANY OF THE SMALLER GAUGES LET ALONE THE SPEEDOMETER. I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2007 CHEVY TAHOE, THE CAR WAS DRIVING NORMAL, I WAS HEADING TO THE ON RAMP OF THE FREEWAY, BUT TO GET INTO THE FREEWAY I HAD TO MAKE A RIGHT AND THEN THE ON RAMP IS IN FRONT OF ME. OF COURSE YOU ALSO HAD CARS COMING FROM THE RIGHT OF ME. AND I CALLED ONSTAR, MY TRANSMISSION HAD GIVEN. ON A 6 MONTH OLD 2007 TAHOE. THEY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED A GEAR INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION, TO NO AVAIL. FINALLY THEY ENDED UP REPLACING THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION, BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIGURE WHAT WAS WRONG THE CAR. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR NOTHING. THE PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO REMEDY IS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WIPER SPRAY KEEP COMING ON ALL BY THEMSELVES AND CANNOT BE TURNED OFF UNLESS YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN RESTART IT. THEY'VE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE BUT THEY STILL COME ON RANDOMLY. THE HEATED SEATS SOMETIMES DON'T WORK AND IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO WORK YOU MUST RESTART THE CAR. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WILL RANDOMLY NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE MASTER SWITCH AND WILL ONLY START WORKING AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO GET SERVICED (OIL CHANGE) THE MECHANIC NOTICED SEVERAL LEAKS UNDER THE VEHICLE, ONE COMING FROM THE ENGINE BELL HOUSING ANOTHER FROM THE RACK AND PINION AREA AND THE THIRD FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP HOUSING AREA. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY CLEANED THE ENGINE PAN (I HAVE BEFORE PICTURES) AND ADDED AN ENGINE DYE AND THEY STATED THEY FOUND NO LEAKS, WE'LL CHECK IT AGAIN AFTER A FEW HUNDRED MILES. THEY ALSO CLEANED UP THE OTHER LEAKS FROM THE OTHER AREAS AND CLAIMED NO LEAKS. OUR MECHANIC ALSO NOTICED WHILE ROTATING THE TIRES THAT THE FRONT RIGHT ROTORS WERE DEEPLY GROOVED WHICH ANSWERS MY QUESTION AS TO WHY MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING. HE SAYS THAT WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR THEM TO BE GROOVED, AND IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT WITH THE CALIPERS PROBABLY STICKING. SHOWED THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE WRITER STATED IT WAS NORMAL, THAT CANNOT BE NORMAL. SO NOW THEY RESURFACED THE ROTOR AND THE BRAKES ARE STILL SQUEAKING. AFTER BRINGING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS THE CAR LOCKED "ITSELF" I DID NOT LOCK IT, THE CAR KEYS WERE NOT EVEN IN MY HANDS ANYMORE THEY WERE HANGING ON THE KEY RACK. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND DETERMINED THAT THE CONTACT COULD HAVE HIT AN OBJECT ON THE ROAD, CAUSING THE TREAD SEPARATION. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, IF A PIECE OF TIRE RIPPED OFF SO EASILY. THE TIRE WAS A BRIDGESTONE DUELER 684, SIZE: P265/70R17.

I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH GM MODEL, I.E., TAHOE YUKONS SUBURBUNS. THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT THAT IS INSTALLED WEARS OUT, AND HAS TO BE REPLACED, IN MODELS DATING BACK TO 98 AT LEAST. HE STATES I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIR. I RESEARCHED AN FOUND THAT HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS AND FORUMS ABOUT THE VERY PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ABOUT. THEY HAVE BEEN USING THE SAME SHAFT FOR YEARS AND NOW HAVE IMPROVED PART THAT CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR OUT OF THEIR POCKETS. HOW CAN THEY KNOWLINGLY PLACE BAD PARTS IN VEHICLES AND NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING. GM CAN SAY WHAT THEY WANT. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND MY WIFE AND FAMILY WITNESSED THE ACCIDENT. GM HAD NO INTEREST IN TALKING TO THEM.
