I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER OF MY 2008 CHEVY TAHOE, MY DASH HAS CRACKED TWICE AND REPLACED, NOW MY DASH IS CRACKED AGAIN. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE AS I AM AMONG THOUSANDS THAT ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I DO NOT HAVE WARRANTY ANY LONGER AND NEITHER GM NOR THE DEALERSHIP WILL FIX THIS ISSUE FOR FREE. THIS IS WRONG AND NOT A GOOD WAY TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IF GM IS EXPECTING THOSE SAME PEOPLE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR THEM AS THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. A CRACKED DASH IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND SIMPLY SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. IT SHOWS THE VEHICLE WAS MADE WITH THE CHEAPEST OF PRODUCTS. IT IS ALSO SOMETHING THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE DASH SITS OVER AIR BAGS, SO IF AN ACCIDENT SHALL OCCUR AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY COULD CAUSE MORE HARM TO THE DRIVERS. I AM APPALLED THAT NO ONE WILL FIX THIS ISSUE SINCE IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I AM VERY UPSET AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY DEALERSHIPS AND GM ALTOGETHER.

THE DASHBOARD WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE FRONTAL AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT PORTIONS OF THE DASHBOARD STARTED TO DISINTEGRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5211213523. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
AIRBAGS WILL NOT INFLATE. INFLATOR KEEPS GOING AND REGULATOR DOES NOT STOP.
COLLAPSED LIFTER NUMBER 7 , REGULARLY FOWLS OUT THE NUMBER ONE PLUG, SPIDER GEAR IN THE REAR END SHREDDED HAD TO BE REBUILT , REPLACED VALVE COVER BECAUSE OF OIL ISSUE , REPLACED OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT , REPLACED BACK WIPER, PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS DONT WORK WITH BUTTON OR REMOTE , CLOCK QUIT WORKING, ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN
I WAS DRIVING WHEN ONE OF THE LIFTERS COLLAPSED , I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE I SUBMITTED ANOTHER COMPLAINT A WHILE AGO AND HADN'T HEARD NOTHING , NOW MY BACK HATCH WONT OPEN MY DOORS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DON'T LOCK WITH THE BUTTON OR REMOTE I HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT PUT MONEY INTO THIS VEHICLE SINCE I GOT IT , IT HAS AN OIL ISSUE IT FOWLS OUT THE NUMBER 1 PLUG ALL THE TIME ,IVE CHANGED THE OIL SENSOR AND SENDING UNIT , THE SPIDER GEAR IN THE REAR END SHREDDED WHICH THERE KNOWN FOR HAD TO HAVE THAT REBUILT ,I HAD THE NEW VALVE COVER PUT ON , CV JOINT IS LEAKING , PAID OVER $2200 TO HAVE THE COLLAPSED LIFTER FIXED , MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN SAYING OIL GAGE, ALREADY REPLACED THAT ONCE MY CLOCK WONT WORK ITS BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN MY DRIVEWAY
TAMARA RECALL CAR JUST SHUT DOWN MACHANE SAY ELECTIIAL TURN CAR OFF WOULD NOT STRAT BACK IN MY YARD
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AND ALSO AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG.
THE DASH IS CRACKED ABOVE THE DRIVERS INSTRUMENT PANEL AND LOOKS AS IF IT IS SEPARATING ALONG THE SEAM DOWN TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THERE IS ALSO A CRACK AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT UNNECESSARY AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I AM UNCERTAIN OF THE EXACT DATE SO I PUT WHEN I NOTICED IT IN THE DATE LINE.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY FROM STOP TO AUTO START TRANSITION FEATURE. MODULES HAS BEEN UPDATED TO LATEST VERSION. PROBLEM STILL ACCUMULATING HYBRID BATTERIES SOC 60% BATTERY TEMPERATURE INLET 81F OUTLET 107F 340VOLT TOTAL CHARGE IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEM ACCURED. AUX TRANS PUMP AND MODULE REPLACED NEW. HYBRID BATTERY COOLING FAN REPLACED NEW. PROBLEM STILL EXIST DEALER CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM OR THEY DONT WANT TO DEAL. IN THE EVEN OF SHUT OFF I LOOSE BRAKE POWER AND STEERING POWER WHICH I CAN NOT STOP OR STEER THE VEHICLE TO PULL OVER THIS RESULTS IN SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
I DROVE MY VEHICLE IN THE MORNING AND THEN PARKED IT FOR ABOUT 2.5 HOURS. WHEN I STARTED MY VEHICLE THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED MY CAR WAS EMPTY, EVEN THOUGH I HAD JUST RECENTLY FILLED UP AND HAD ONLY GONE ABOUT 80 MILES ON THE TANK, MY AIRBAG READINESS LIGHT STAYED ON, AND NONE OF MY GAUGES WERE FUNCTIONING. ALSO, THE LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG ABOVE MY REVIEW MIRROR DIDN'T ILLUMINATE AT ALL. I DROVE IT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON, BUT NOTHING CHANGED. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A FEW MILES, I PARKED AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AGAIN. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, EVERYTHING BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, BUT WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, I COULD NOT GET IT TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. BESIDES THE OBVIOUS DANGER OF NOT HAVING ANY GAUGES WHILE DRIVING, MY FEAR IS THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT WORK PROPERLY IN AN ACCIDENT.
WHEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC COMING TO AUTO STOP THEN AUTO START VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON IT'S OWN EVEN WITH BRAKE PEDAL IS APPLIED TO CONTROL VEHICLE FROM TAKE OFF AND GO THEN START STALLING SHAKING LIKE TRANSMISSION IS GONNA FALL A PART THEN SHUTS OFF. ONCE TURN IT OF AND RESTART VEHICLE GOES BACK TO NORMAL. UNTILL ITS STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AGAIN PROBLEM REOCCURRING. DANGER TO BUMP INTO VEHICLES INFRONT OF YOU CAUSE ACCIDENT. ALSO VEHICLE SPEEDS UP ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT APPLYING GAS PEDAL AT 40 TO 50 MPH
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE 2016 TO GET THIS REMEDIED AND KEEP BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NO CURRENT REMEDY FOR THIS. I JUST WENT TO A CHEVY DEALER THIS AM AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING.
TAKATA RECALL BATTERY DRAINAGE WITH TESTED GOOD BATTERY & GOOD ALTERNATOR. ISSUES UNKNOWN BUT CAR HAD TO BE JUMPED 3 TIMES IN ONE WEEK. NOTHING WAS LEFT ON OR PLUGGED IN. SHOP COULDN'T FIND PROBLEM. ONE EXAMPLE IS WENT TO GET GAS & AFTER FILL, CAR WOULDN'T TURN ON.

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V383000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,673.
THE FUEL PUMP AND VAPOR LINES ARE CORRODED. THE PUMP AND LINES HAVE TO BE REPLACED.

I LIVE IN SOUTHERN OREGON WHERE IT IS VERY HUMID AND CAN ALSO GET VERY HOT, BOTH OF THESE CONDITIONS ARE LISTED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO INCREASE THE RATE AT WHICH THE AIRBAGS CAN DEGRADE. THIS RECALL IS OVER TWO YEARS OLD, REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SHOULD EXIST BY NOW. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA MULTIPLE TIMES, ONLY TO BE TOLD EACH TIME, THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD CONSIDER TRADING MY VEHICLE IN AND GETTING SOMETHING SAFER, BUT DUE TO THIS UNRESOLVED RECALL, THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIMINISHED. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT TO THE NHTSA.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BROKEN WHAT'S RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE LUNGING ME FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR THE HYBRID BATTERY ALSO CAME ON. THE RESULT IS THE CAR SHAKING AND SHUTTING OFF MORE THAN ONCE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION. ONCE WAS IN A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION. IT SHUT OFF WHEN COMING OUT OF A BANK PARKING LOT AND TURNING ON TO A BUSY STREET.
I BOUGHT THE CAR A YEAR A GO, I STARTED TO NOTICE SOME CRACKS OK THE TOP DASHBOARD, BY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, I BIG CRACK BY THE TOP AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE CRACKS ARE GETTING BIGGER, IM AFRAID THIS IS NOT SAFE IN CASE OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL - WE REC'D A RECALL NOTICE BACK ON JULY 2016 BUT THE DEALER HAS NOT REC'D THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. I CONTACTED GM CHEVROLET AND I UNDERSTAND GM IS SAYING WE ARE NOT AT RISK WITH THE AIRBAGS BASED ON THEIR FINDINGS? WHY THE RECALL? WAITING ON NHSTA TO CHANGE THEIR DECISION ON THE RECALL? I'M CONFUSED...IS THERE A RECALL OR NOT? 2 YEARS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION? WHAT WOULD MAKE THE CHEVROLET TAHOE TAKATA AIR BAGS SAFE BUT THE HONDA'S WE OWN, NOT SAFE AND WERE REPLACED QUICKLY BY THE DEALER? MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE CHEMICAL IN THE AIR BAGS BREAKS DOWN...IS THERE SOMETHING SPECIAL WITH THE 2008 CHEVROLET TAHOE WHERE THIS DOES NOT OCCUR? WE LIVE IN GEORGIA - HIGH HUMIDITY! IT SHOULD NOT TAKE 2+ YEARS TO DETERMINE IF THE AIR BAGS SHOULD BE REPLACED AFTER A SAFETY RECALL IS ISSUED...I HOPE THEY ARE SAFE...I AM NOT SURE WHO TO BELIEVE.
TAKATA RECALL I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2008 TAHOE LT 4WD AND HAVE CONTACTED ASHEVILLE CHEVROLET IN ASHEVILLE, NC ON A COUPLE OF OCCASSIONS REGARDING THIS AIRBAG RECALL, MOST RECENTLY ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE DASH WAS STARTING TO CRACK PARTICULIARLY TWO CRACKS NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE SERVICE MANAGER CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT THE DASH AND ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DASH CRACKING IN TAHOE MODELS AND WAS NOT RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL BUT THAT THERE WAS ALSO NOT A RECALL ON THE DASH CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG. I AM A RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER THAT USED TO SUPERVISE A TRAFFIC SAFETY UNIT AND AM A CERTIFIED TRAFFIC CRASH RECONSTRUCTIONIST, THIS PROBLEM WITH THE DASHBOARDS CRACKING NEEDS TO BE FURTHER INVESTIGATED BY NHTSA TO DETERMINE IF IT IS IN FACT RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL AND ESCALATE GM TO REPLACE THE DASHES AND /OR TAKATA AIRBAGS IF IT IS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
MY DASH PANEL HAS CRACKED OVER THE DRIVERS SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA. THIS CAN CAUSE POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUES IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY OR POSSIBILITY OF THINGS GETTING IN THROUGH THE CRACK TO DAMAGE THE ELECTRONICS UNDERNEATH.

CRUSE CONTROL NOT ENABLED SLIGHT UPHILL GRADE REQUIRED ENGINE TO BE SHUT OFF WITH KEY SAME DAY AS FIRST EVENT WHILE IN DRIVE GEAR FROM AUTOSTOP RESUME WITH CRUSE CONTROL ENABLED AT 25 MPH ENGINE UNCONTROLLABLY REVVED TO MAXIMUM 6000 RPM WAS ABLE REGAIN CONTROL OF ENGINE RPM BY SHUTTING OFF CRUSE CONTROL .. (SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH THE FIRST TIME ) SLIGHT UPHILL GRADE UNCONTROLLED HIGH ENGINE RPM FROM AUTOSTOP RESUME STILL HAPPENING AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THE MAP SENSOR ... I SEE AS MUCH AS 2,000 TO 2500 RPM FROM AUTOSTOP RESUME... THIS IS NOT NORMAL IT SHOULD BE STARTING AT 1200 TO 1500 RPM.. NORMAL ENGINE STARTS ARE AT 1100 RPM
TAKATA RECALL. MANY YEARS AND NO ACTION TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. UNABLE TO SELL DUE TO OUTSTANDING RECALL.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND OFF FOR NO REASON. CODE B1019 AT DEALERSHIP. SO THEY REPLACED THE MODULE. $900. STILL HAVING RANDOM LIGHT ON AND OFF. THEY SAY THEY CANT FIX IT WITHOUT THE LIGHT BEING ON. I TOOK IT BACK IN WITH THE LIGHT ON, HE CLEARED THE CODE AND NOW SAYS HE NEEDS IT TO COME BACK ON AGAIN. HELP. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AFTER READING EVERYTHING ABOUT TAKATA RECALL. ONLY HAVE 63,000 MILES

HAVE CALLED CHEVY DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. THE AIRBAG IS ON AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL DRIVING IT.
VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES GO IN REVERSE WHEN IN DRIVE GEAR AND VICE VERSA. VEHICLE WILL DIE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT AND/OR PARKING LOTS. VEHICLE JERKS VIOLENTLY UPON ACCELERATION. SUSPENSION POPS, STABILITRACK SERVICE, HYBRID SYSTEM SERVICE, BRAKE SERVICE ALL ILLUMINATED ON DASH ALONG WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOLLOWING THE VIOLENT JERKING AND DYING UPON ACCELERATION.

MY DASH HAS CRACKED WITHOUT ANY FORCE BEING APPLIED TO IT DUE TO CHEAP MATERIAL USED IN MANUFACTURING ITEM. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH MAY CAUSE PARTS OF DASH TO PROPEL TO DRIVER AND PASSENGER CAUSING INJURIES.
THE DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAS CRACKED AND CONTINUES TO SPREAD. I FEAR THIS MAY BE A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WITH PIECES OF THE DASH BECOMING SHAPNEL
DASH CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. RECENTLY PIECES BEGAN FALLING OUT AROUND PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF ACCIDENT OCCURRED PIECES COULD BECOME PROJECTILE OBJECTS. OVER 10,500 SIGNATURES ON CHANGE.ORG AND STILL NO RESULTS TO SOLVE THE ISSUES.
I PURCHASED MY TAHOE FROM THE DEALER BRAND NEW AND ALWAYS TOOK IT TO GET SERVICED AT THE SAME DEALER. IN 2015 I TOOK IT IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A MISFIRE AND THEY REPLACED THE CAMSHAFT AND MACHINED THE HEADS STATING THAT THE VALVES WERE LEAKING. REPAIRS COST NEARLY $3000. THIS YEAR 2018 IN MARCH THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN A CYLINDER THE SAME CYLINDER THAT WAS MIFIRING 3 YEARS PRIOR. THEY SAID A ROLLER ON THE ROCKER DISINTERGRATED AND REPAIRS WOULD COST CLOSE TO $6000 THIS IS NOT DUE TO ANYTHING I DID THE VEHICLE DOES EVEN HAVE 100,000 MILES ON IT. NO HARSH DRIVING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT I THINK IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED A CRACK THAT WAS DETERIORATING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE CONTACT CALLED PETERSON CHEVROLET BUICK CADILLAC (12300 W FAIRVIEW AVE, BOISE, ID 83713, (208) 908-6305) TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TO INQUIRE OF ANY RECALLS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

TECHNICIAN STATED CRACKLING SOUND WHEN GRASPING WIRING IN DASHBOARD AREA. LOSS OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CONTROL MODULE AND VARIOUS COMPONENTS OCCURS WITHIN ONE (1) TO FIVE (5) SECONDS. CHEVROLET ISSUED TECH BULLETIN #08-07-30-021E. DEALERSHIP HAS FOLLOWED THIS BULLETIN WITHOUT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM.

STARTED THE TAHOE AND PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE SEAT BELTS ALSO LOCKED UP.
TAKATA RECALL. WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE PSAN INFLATORS ARE DEFECTIVE AND COULD CAUSE SEVERE BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. AT THIS POINT THE MANUFACTURER HAS DECIDED NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS, HOWEVER THIS SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY CHEVROLET.
DASHBOARD COMPLETE CRACK AT LEFT UPPER CORNER OF PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER DASH PLATE. THERE IS ATAKATA AIRBAG RECALL SINCE 2016 THAT GM STILL HAS PENDING REPLACEMENT. CRACK HAPPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN PARKING LOT THIS SUMMER. SINCE COLD SMALL HAIRLINE CRACK IS NOW COMPLETLY THRU DASH AND PUSHED AIRBAG DASH COVER UP. I AM AFRAID THAT IF THE VEHICLE GETS JARRED THE BAG WILL RELEASE.
