CHROME ON INSIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS PEELED AND IS CUTTING FINGERS WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR. *TR
I HAVE READ THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DASHBOARD BEING CRACKED. MINE HAS DONE THE SAME AND I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE IF IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY HAD TOLD ME NO BECAUSE IT DID NOT COME FROM THE FACTORY LIKE THAT. I'M THINKING WELL NO [XXX], HAVE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE/POWERTRAIN ISSUE/ENGINE ISSUE/ ETC IT'S PROBABLY NOT GOING TO COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE ISSUE. MY DASH BOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY DURING A COLLISION OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FROM SHARP PLASTIC EXPOSED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH CUTTING THE AIRBAG OR SHARDS OF PLASTIC BECOMING PROJECTILES POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY TO OCCUPANTS. *TR
I HAVE A 20 INCH CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD DIRECTLY OVER MY STEERING WHEEL. IT IS SEPARATED ABOUT 2 CM AND IS DANGEROUS DUE TO AIR BAG LOCATION AND POTENTIAL OF AIR BAG MALFUNCTION IN A CRASH.
MY 2010 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ HAS 35K MILES WITH THE SAME CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD AS EVERY OTHER OWNER ALL OVER THE WEB AND ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT 2 YEARS AFTER $60 BILLION OF TAXPAYER/CONSUMER MONEY BAILED THEM OUT. GM REFUSES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AROUND THE AIRBAG AND ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD.
Dash cracked. The entire dash. Multiple cracks multiple areas.
THE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE FROM THE SCREW HOUSING AND NOT THE HANDLE ITSELF. CHEVY'S RESPONSE: PULL TOO HARD ON DOOR HANDLE, $ 200 REPAIR COST TO REPLACE HANDLE. THE DASHBOARD IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED CRACKING AND RUNNING TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL. CHEVY'S RESPONSE: SOME TIME THE HEAT WILL DO THAT. $ 950 REPAIR COST FOR NEW DASHBOARD. MY TAHOE IS IN TOP SHAPE, WASHED TWICE A WEEK INSIDE AND OUT AND IS GARAGED? I DON'T KNOW WHY THE SIMPLE THINGS ARE SO CHEAP? *TR
SUPPORT BRACKET WELD TO TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE BROKE. DIPSTICK TUBE LOOSE AND ONLY HELD IN PLACE AT TRANSMISSION. CAUGHT AT A GM LUBE LOCATION IN CHARLESTON, WV DURING ROUTINE LUBE AND OIL CHANGE. THEY STATED THEY HAVE SEEN AT LEAST 6 OF THESE BREAKS IN LATE MODEL GM SUVS. IN WORST CASE TUBE COULD POP OUT OF TRANSMISSION AND LEAKING TRANSMISSION OIL COULD HIT EXHAUST AND CAUSE A FIRE. MY FIX IS A SMALL HOSE CLAMP AROUND THE BRACKET AND TUBE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD HAS TWO LONG CRACKS, ONE ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ONE BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. CALLED GM AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE TRUCK WASN'T EVEN A FULL TWO YEARS OLD. THE TRUCK IN KEPT IN A GARAGE AND I USE SUN VISORS DURING THE DAY TO PROTECT THE DASH FROM THE SUN. THE CRACKS CONTINUE TO GROW. THIS IS A DEFECT FROM GM AND THEY SHOULD PAY FOR REPLACEMENT. I AM WORRIED IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, PIECES OF THE DASH WILL FLY INTO PEOPLES FACES IN THE TRUCK OR CAUSE A DEPLOYING AIRBAG TO MALFUNCTION. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON IN 2012 AND THE DEALER AGAIN WOULD NOT FIX IT.
ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2011, AS I MOVED OVER TO PASS A CAR ON THE LEFT ON A 2-LANE HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATOR IN MY 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE BEGAN ACCELERATING AT A VERY FAST RATE ON ITS OWN AND "STUCK" . I HIT THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES, BUT IT DID NOT "UNSTICK" AND KEPT ACCELERATING. I AM NOT CERTAIN TO WHAT EXACT SPEED THE CAR REACHED DURING THIS TIME, BUT I BELIEVE IT WAS IN EXCESS OF 80 MPH. SHIFTING THE CAR TO NEUTRAL BACKED IT OFF. AFTER PUTTING IT BACK IN DRIVE AND PUNCHING THE ACCELERATOR 3-4 TIMES WITH MY FOOT, THE CAR "UNSTUCK" AND SPEED REDUCED; NOT CERTAIN IF MY ACTION "UNSTUCK" IT BUT AT THIS POINT THE SPEED REDUCED. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS EXTREMELY SCARED AND IT WAS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE SITUATION. VAN HORN CHEVROLET IN PLYMOUTH, WISCONSIN, CONFIRMED A DAY LATER THAT DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED A FAULT CODE AND THE SENSOR WAS FAULTY, AND THE SENSOR WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED. THE REPAIR INVOICE STATES "REPLACED ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR."
DASH ABOVE GAUGES STARTED CRACKING AND KEEPS GROWING AS WELL AS A 2-3IN CRACK BY PASSENGER AIR BAG
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHROME PLATED DOOR HANDLES ON ALL FOUR DOORS WAS PEALING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CUT HIS FINGERS WHEN OPENING THE DOORS. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
AROUND 40,000 MILES THE DASH CRACKED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, I'M AFRAID IT WILL SEND FRAGMENTED PIECES OF DASH INTO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE CONCERNS WHETHER THE JAGGED EDGES OF PLASTIC COULD POTENTIALLY PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG UPON DEPLOYMENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN SNOWY WEATHER WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND DEFROSTER ACTIVATED WHEN THE WIPERS BEGAN TO FREEZE AND WOULD NOT CLEAR THE SNOW FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALTER THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,500. UPDATED 05/03/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE NO DEFROSTER VENTS ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. UPDATED 05/13/11
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WOULD CLOSE INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE WINDOW OPENING INDEPENDENTLY AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THEFT FROM HIS VEHICLE. HE BELIEVED THERE TO BE A COMPUTER FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300.
TAKATA RECALL ..MY CHILDREN ARE RIDING IN THE TAHOE WITH DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS FOR 8 YEARS I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED WHEN WILL IT BE FIXED

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON MARCH 19, 2010, THE DRIVER ROLLING UP THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WHEN A PASSENGER'S FINGER BECAME STUCK IN THE WEATHER STRIPPING. THE PASSENGER'S RIGHT INDEX FINGER WAS AMPUTATED ABOUT 1/8TH OF AN INCH ON THE TIP. A HOSPITAL REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,700.
WE PURCHASED A NEW 2010 CHEVY TAHOE WITH A TRAILER PACKAGE. WHEN WE PLUGGED THE TRAILER PLUG IN, WE FOUND THAT THE NO ELECTRICITY WAS TRANSMITTED TO THE TRAILER LIGHTS AND BRAKES. WHEN WE BROUGHT TO VEHICLE TO A CHEVY DEALER, THEY INFORMED US THAT THE WIRES WERE NOT CONNECTED AT THE FUSE BOX. WE BELIEVE THIS IS SAFETY PROBLEM AND A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. EVEN WORSE THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THIS SAFETY DEFECT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY BECAUSE WE DID NOT ASK FOR THE WIRES TO BE CONNECTED TO THE FUSE BOX WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR. WE WERE SHOCKED AT THIS CONVOLUTED ARGUMENT. THE MANUAL INDICATED THAT WE JUST AND TO PLUG THE TRAILER WIRES INTO THE TAHOE PLUG. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT COULD LEAD TO SAFETY PROBLEM IF SOMEONE JUST PLUGGED THEIR TRAILER WIRES IN AND LATER FOUND THEMSELVES WITHOUT TRAILER LIGHTS OR BRAKES. *TR
