THE DASH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY 2013 TAHOE HAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE HAS 74,000 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE IS GARAGED WHEN NOT IN USE. I BECAME AWARE OF THIS ISSUE ON NOVEMBER 20, 2019. THERE ARE TWO CRACKS THAT ALMOST INTERSECT IN A "V" SHAPE.
TWO CRACKS HAVE APPEARED ON MY DASH, ONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND A SMALL ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CAR HAS 34,000 MILES, IS GARAGED AND ONLY DRIVEN ON PAVED ROADS. WHEN PARKED IN A LOT, A WINDOW VISER IS ALWAYS USED. I NOTICED THE LARGER CRACK ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. IT GETS BIGGER EVERY DAY.
PASSENGER DASHBOARD WHERE AIRBAG IS LOCATED HAS A CRACK. CALLED THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT'S NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY.
I'M SEEING LARGE STRUCTURALLY UNSOUND CRACKS IN THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD, BUT ON TOP OF THE MAIN SPEEDOMETER ETC DOME AND OVER BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA. THE ONES OVER ON THE DRIVER SIDE ARE LARGE ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY FLOP AROUND. IT DOES APPEAR TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY IN CASE OF ACCIDENT WHEN JAGGED PIECES WOULD BE ABOUT. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN THIS CONDITION (NOTICED AFTER PURCHASE WHEN ON ROUGHER ROADS WITHOUT RADIO AND THE VARIOUS PIECES STARTED MAKING QUITE A RACKET.)
1- EVERY TIME I APPLY MY BRAKES, THEY VIBRATE, SPEED DOESN'T MATTER, I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO MY HUSBAND ABOUT THIS FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. 2- SOMETIMES WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKES THEN RELEASE THEM A LITTLE AND REAPPLY THE 2ND TIME IT FEELS LIKE I AM PRESSING AGAINST A BRICK WALL AND CAN'T PUSH THE BRAKES. I NOTICE THIS WHEN I AM GOING SUPER SLOW, PARKING LOT, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, ETC.
DASHBOARD ON VEHICLE IS CRACKING OVER STEERING COLUMN AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG.
MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES AS SHOWN ON THE ATTACHED PHOTOS. ONE CRACK IS NEAR THE HOUSING FOR THE AIRBAG, AND THE OTHER IS FORMING ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CRACKS RESULT IN THE DASHBOARD SHACKING ON ANY UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE, SO EVENTUALLY THE SMALLER CRACK WILL PROGRESS ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHEVY DUE TO A SAFETY HAZARD FROM THIS DEFECTIVE PART. REPLACEMENT OR REPAIRS ARE ESTIMATED TO BE $1200-$2000. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER THE COURSE OF NORMAL DRIVING.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY PASSENGER COMMENTED ON IT AND ASKED WHAT HAPPENED. I HADN'T NOTICED IT BEFORE SINCE I COULDN'T SEE OVER THE PART OF THE DASHBOARD THAT IS HIGHER THAN THE BACKSIDE CLOSER TO THE WINDSHIELD.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 3 DIFFERENT SPOTS
JULY 16TH, 2019 MY 2013 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OF TOTAL LOSS. TRAVEL SPEEDS WERE 30 MPH. IN ATTEMPTS TO STOP DUE TO VEHICLES TRAVELING IN FRONT OF MINE HAD COME TO ABRUPT STOPS MY BRAKES FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE STOPPING WHILE STRAIGHT LINE STEERING. THUS I WAS FORCED TO STEER LEFT TO AVOID COLLISION. MY BRAKES WERE QUICKLY APPLIED, MODERATE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL, BRAKES WERE SLOW TO RESPOND WITH MINIMAL BRAKING. THERE WAS COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, CLIPPING THEIR DRIVER SIDE REAR BUMPER TO MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT CORNER FENDER PEALING IT BACK LIKE A CAN OPENER. THIS HAPPENED ON A STATE HWY. THE STABILITRAC INDICATOR AND SERVICE BRAKES HAD APPEARED ON AND OFF IN THE VEHICLES DIC INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE PAST MONTH. NO CODES PRESENT. THE VEHICLE HAD NEW BRAKES (ROTORS, PADS AND BRAKE FLUID), 43 DAYS PRIOR. IT HAD 138,627 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. 1) WE ARE LUCKY THERE WERE NO INJURIES RESULTING FROM THIS ACCIDENT. 2) FOR A VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED FOR $61K AND PAID OFF, 6 YEARS LATER LOSSES 2/3 OF ITS PURCHASED VALUE. 3) HAVE NOW HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE AND BACK TO BEING $20K IN THE HOLE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A DIRECT RESULT FROM THE CURRENT RECALL GM JUST ANNOUNCED THAT COVERS 2014-2018 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN AND TAHOE MODELS. GM STATES AS THE VEHICLE AGES, THE PUMP IN THE POWER-ASSIST BRAKES CAN PUT OUT LESS VACUUM THAN NEEDED, INCREASING STOPPING DISTANCE AND RICK OF A CRASH. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645
CRACK IN DASHBOARD WITHOUT CAUSE. FLAWED WORKMANSHIP AND/OR MATERIALS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND HEARD A RATTLE COMING FROM MY DASHBOARD. THE VENT NEAR THE WINDSHIELD WAS VISIBLY VIBRATING. I THEN NOTICED A CRACK EXTENDING FROM THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG COVER TO THE VENT. THE DEALER SAID THAT THIS HAPPENS ON SOME MODELS/YEAR. THIS IS MY THIRD TAHOE IN OVER 20 YEARS AND IT HASN'T HAPPENED BEFORE. THE VIBRATION IS GOING TO MAKE THE CRACK WORSE AND THE DASHBOARD WILL START TO BREAK APART. I BELIEVE THAT THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT IS ALSO AT RISK.
CRACKS IN DASH AT AIRBAG CORNER AND ON DRIVERS SIDE
LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE, STORED IN A GARAGE AT WORK AND AT HOME. DASHBOARD CRACKED AT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS PLASTIC PARTS FROM BROKEN DASHBOARD CAN BECOME DEADLY MISSILES DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POTENTIALLY HARM OR CAUSE DEATH TO PASSENGER (MY CHILD). SPENT NEARLY $600 FOR A DASHBOARD ASSEMBLY THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER REQUIRED REPLACING.
MY 2013 TAHOE HAS CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD OVER THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE. THERE ARE PICTURES ATTACHED. THE CRACKS JUST HAPPENED. I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE, NOTHING HAPPENED. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN TO GET IT FIXED BUT COST IS OUTRAGEOUS. I HAVE ORDERED TWO DASH COVERS NEITHER MATCHED. NOW BY FRONT DOORS (BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE) PULL HANDLES ARE FALLING PART. EVERY TIME YOU PULL THE DOOR SHUT IT PINCHES YOUR FINGERS OR SLIPS AND YOU ALMOST FALL DOWN. EVERY UNSAFE. THIS WAS MY DREAM CAR. MY HUSBAND HAS OWNED SEVERAL TAHOES THAT HE USES IN IS BUILDING BUSINESS, HE DOES NOT BABY IS VEHICLES AND HIS INTERIOR COULD BE CLEANED UP AND LOOK LIKE NEW AND IT'S A 2004 WITH ALMOST 300,000 MILES ON IT. MY INTERIOR RATTLES AND LOOKS SO CHEAP. I AM 66 YEARS OLD. I CAN NOT AFFORD A NEW TAHOE OR A USED ONE THEY ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVE IF THESE PROBLEMS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN. I TOOK TO A DEALERSHIP 2 WEEKS AGO TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON THE PARTS AND LABOR. I VOTED THE PARTS QUOTE BUT HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THE LABOR. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO BUY THE ENTIRE DOOR PANELS. I AM ASHAMED TO DRIVE MY CAR WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN IT, BECAUSE IT RATTLES AND LOOKS HORRIBLE. I AM AFRAID IT THE CRACK OVER THE STEERING MAY CAUSE SOME ELECTRICAL OR SOME OTHER PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE TO THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE FRIENDS WITH THE EXACT PROBLEMS. I WOULD CONSIDER BUYING ANY ELSE, BUT WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CHEVY FANS. I DON'T KNOW NOW?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED AUTONATION CHEVROLET SOUTH CORPUS CHRISTI (6650 S PADRE ISLAND DR, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78412) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
CRACKED DASH CRACKED FOR NO REASON
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. I THOUGHT A ROCK HAD HIT MY WINDSHIELD. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME I SAW SOME WHITE MATERIAL WHICH LOOKED LIKE COTTON ON THE DASH. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION I REALIZED THAT THE "POP"WAS MY DASHBOARD CRACKING. MY CAR IS GARAGED ACCEPT WHEN I AM AT WORK, WHICH WHEN THERE ARE SUN PROTECTORS ON MY DASHBOARD DURING THE WARM MONTHS. MY TAHOE ONLY HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT.
WHILE DRIVING CAR STARTED SPUTTERING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TAHOE STOPPED RUNNING AND STALLED OUT. TOOK TO LOCAL SHOP TO CHECK THE CHECK ENGINE CODE - FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE
DASHBOARD CRACKING CAN RESULT IN STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUES THAT CAN RESULT IN THE CREATION OF PROJECTILES IN THE INSTANCE OF A COLLISION, AIRBAGS BEING UNABLE TO PROPERLY DEPLOY, ETC. ALMOST ALL GM VEHICLES IN THIS MODEL YEAR RANGE HAVE THIS ISSUE; IS OF WIDESPREAD CONCERN. I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR AND AM WORRIED THAT IF I WERE EVER TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, MY SAFETY WOULD BE JEOPARDIZED.
CRACKED DASH - DASH HAS SEPARATED/CRACKED AT AIRBAG RELEASE LOCATION AS WELL AS AT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. UNKNOWN IF THIS WILL AFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENTS OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN SPEEDO CLUSTER. WAS TOLD TO REPORT THIS BY DEALER.
CRACK IN DASH ADJACENT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. CONCERN DASH WOULD SHATTER IF AIR BAG DEPLOYS.
SPLIT DASH AT CORNER OF PASSENGER AIR BAG
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN MY 2013 CHEVROLET TAHOE PUTTING THE PASSENGER AT RISK DURING AN ACCIDENT. SINCE THE CRACK RUNS DOWN TO THE AIRBAG IT COULD POSSIBLE SHATTER THE PLASTIC AND DAMAGE PASSENGERS. I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND THAT INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS UNSAFE DASH. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS.
CRACKING IN THE DASHBOARD THAT HAS CARRIED INTO THE AIRBAG SECTION OF THE DASH THAT PREVENTED DEPLOYMENT IN AN ACCIDENT ON BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDES OF DASH

THE CRACK WAS RAPIDLY EXPANDING AND THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG COULD DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NELSON HALL CHEVROLET (1811 SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD, MERIDIAN, MS 39301, (601) 621-4324) WHERE THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD AND DETERMINED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL WAS FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
MY TRACTION AND STABILITRAK SYSTEM WILL HAVE RANDOM ALERTS THAT WILL GO ON AND OFF FOR NO REASON. MY DASH HAS ALSO CRACKED BY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AND NOW MAKES CRACKING NOISES AT TIMES AND NOW RATTLES WHEN DRIVING.
I OWN A 2013 CHEVY TAHOE AND OUT OF NO WHERE THE DASH BOARD CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. WITHIN A DAY THE CRACK MADE THE DASHBOARD DROP AND NOW HAS SPREAD WITHIN A WEEK TO ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN. AS THIS RELATES TO THE AIRBAG, I CONSIDER IT A SAFETY HAZARD AND A DEFECT. I CAN PROVIDE PHOTOS IF APPROPRIATE.
THE DASHBOARD OF THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERE CRACKS AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE PLASTIC MAY BECOME PROJECTILES IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT OR COVER REPAIRS.
DASH IS CRACKED NEXT TO THE STEERING COWLING AND NEXT TO THE AIRBAG. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR ALL GM TRUCKS AND SUVS FROM 2007 THRU 2014. THIS MAY COMPROMISE THE AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING AND INJURING THE DRIVER WITH SHREDDED PIECES OF PLASTIC DASHBOARD. GM REFUSED TO PAY TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated notice that there were cracks on the dashboard by the passenger’s side air bag. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that no failure was found. The contact stated that over the years the crack started to expand. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 80,000.

DASH HAS CRACKED OVER THE LAST YEAR AROUND THE AIRBAG AND CONCERN IS THAT PIECES COULD BECOME SHRAPNEL IN CASE OF A DEPLOYMENT.
CONCERN OF BRITTLE PLASTIC DASH PIECES CAUSING FURTHER INJURY IN A CRASH OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM WITH GM DASHBOARDS BETWEEN 2007-2013. THIS A A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE GARAGE KEPT AND REGULARLY DETAILED WITH UV PROTECTANT. THE DASH SHOULD NOT BE THIS BRITTLE.
DASH CRACKED FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, ABOVE AND INTO LEFT SIDE OF AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGED OR SHADE IN WINDOW, WAS STATIONARY & UNOCCUPIED WHEN THE DASH CRACKED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MULTIPLE DASHBOARD CRACKS
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DOOR LOCKS WENT UP AND DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES, THE RADIO SCREEN TURNED OFF, AND THEN THE WHOLE CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. I COULDN'T TURN IT BACK ON AND HAD TO CALL TOW TRUCK. LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY AND THERE WERE NOT MANY CARS COMING WHERE MY CAR HAD STOPPED.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING RIGHT ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I DO NOT KNOW IT THE CRACK STARTING WHILE IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. I KNOW IT HAPPENED IN MAY 2018. IT IS CRACKING MORE EVERYDAY. THIS IS MY DREAM CAR AND I THINK IT'S A SHAME TO PAY THIS KIND OT MONEY FOR SUCH A EXPENSIVE CAR AND IT STARTS FALLING APART. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE NOTHING BUT CHEVY BUYERS WE HAVE OWNED A NUMBER OF BLAZERS AND TAHOE AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM . MY HUSBAND'S TAHOE IS A 2004 . LOOKS GREAT. ALSO ON THE 2013 TAHOE THE DOOR PULL IS BROKE AND THE DEALER SAID I HAD TO BUY THE HOLD DOOR PANEL THST WOULD BE OVER $500. I ONLY NEED THE THE PULL HANDLE NOT THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL. THIS IS NONSENSE. IS CHEVROLET GETTING CHEAP ON THEIR QUALLTY . THIS WILL MAKE BE LOOK INTO OTHER VEHICLES (FORD, TOYOTA, JEEP , ETC. ## VIN PASSED ## CHEVY TAHOE 2013 ##
MY DASH HAS TWO CRACKS: ONE NEAR THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND ONE ON THE RIGHT MID POINT OF THE CURVE OVER THE CONTROL SECTION OF THE DASH. I HAVE SEE WHERE THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME CRACKS. I NOTICED THE FIRST CRACK MAY 5, 2018 AND THE SECOND CRACK MAY 25, 2018. I NOTICED THEM WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HOW UNSAFE THIS IS WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND POSSIBLE FLYING DEBRIS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
TAKATA RECALL. WHILE MY TAHOE WAS IN A REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE NEW AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMED, THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. . IN ADDITION, I NOTICED THE DEPLOYED SIDE AIR BAGS DO NOT COVER THE FRONT DRIVER'S OR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS. THEREFORE, IT APPEARS TO BE ONLY A PARTIAL DEPLOYMENT OR A DEFECTIVE DESIGN THAT IN ADDITION TO ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT, THEY DO NOT PROTECT PEOPLE IN THE FRONT SEATS.
A small crack in the dash start in 2018. I always use a sunshade in the windshield. Then it cracked in other places. It's like there is nothing supporting the dash around the speaker. It's now cracked all over. Nothing has been done extra to this Tahoe. It's cleaned regularly inside and out.
I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. IT HAS A DEFECT THAT REQUIRES THE FRONT AIR BAG SENSORS BE INSTALLED FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM THE NORMAL ORIENTATION (REARWARD RATHER THAN FORWARD). HOWEVER, I SUSPECT THAT MAY AFFECT AIR BAG SENSOR FUNCTION AND POSSIBLY AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DURING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPAIR WITH WARRANTY, BUT WAS ALSO DENY REPAIR.
