NOT YOUR ORDINARY SAFETY DEFECT BUT AN UNSAFE CONDITION NONETHELESS. I LIVE IN ARIZONA, A PLACE THAT TENDS TO GET A LITTLE WARM. WHEN THE VEHICLE HEAT SOAKS IN THE SUN THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY FAILS.THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE MAIN RECEIVER BOARD AND THE ( 2 ) ENTRY TRANSMITTERS WITH NO EFFECT OTHER THAN MODIFYING THE FAILURE CHARACTERISTICS. THE ( 2 ) KEY TRANSMITTERS ALSO DO NOT OPERATE THE ENTRY SYSTEM IN AN IDENTICAL MANNER. ONE WILL OPERATE ALL ENTRY SYSTEM FUNCTIONS, THE OTHER ( TRANSMITTER #2 ) WILL NOT. THIS WILL CREATE A SEVERE PROBLEM IF IMMEDIATE ACCESS IS REQUIRED TO THE VEHICLE AND YOU CANNOT RELY ON THE SYSTEM TO HAVE THE VEHICLE UNLOCKED WHEN YOU GET TO IT. MY BROTHER, ALSO THE OWNER OF A 2002 TRAILBLAZER, IS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY FAIL IN MY 2002 TRAILBLAZER. THE DEALER REPLACED THEM A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE I WAS HAVING OTHER CHEAP MADE INFERIOR PARTS REPAIRED OR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE PROBLEM IS THE CONTACTS IN THE BULB SOCKET ARE TO FAR APART AND DO NOT MAKE A SECURE CONNECTION WITH THE BULB CONTACTS AND ALSO DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICAL GREASE IN THEM TO PROTECT AGAINST MOISTURE.*AK
THE REAR WINDOW OF MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER POPS OPEN WHILE DRIVING, EVEN WHEN IT IS LOCKED. ITS BEEN INTO THE DEALER (3 DIFFERENT ONES) 7 TIMES AND CHEVROLET HAS TOLD ME THAT SINCE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE WINDOW POPS OPEN SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. WE DO DRIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, BUT ITS NOTHING UNUSUALLY ROUGH. MY WIFE HAS STARTED HAVING MIGRAINE HEADACHES, AND THEY STARTED A FEW WEEKS AFTER WE BOUGHT THIS CAR. WE HAVE THE OPINION OF SEVERAL DOCTORS THAT SAY THESE HEADACHES COULD BE CAUSED BY THE EXHAUST THAT FILLS THE CAR WHEN THE WINDOW POPS OPEN. I'VE ASKED THE DEALER IF THEY COULD MAKE THE WINDOW SO IT DOESN'T OPEN AT ALL, BUT SINCE ITS A LEASE, THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR THAT WOULD AFFECT THE VALUE OF THE CAR. I ALSO BELIEVE THIS TO BE A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE WINDOW POPS OPEN (WHICH HAPPENS VERY OFTEN) AND SOMETHING FLIES OUT THE WINDOW AND CAUSES ANOTHER CAR TO WRECK AND POSSIBLY KILLS SOMEONE. ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT SOMETIMES THE WINDOW UNLATCHES, AND WE DON'T REALIZE IT. IF I PARK MY VEHICLE SOMEWHERE AND SOMEONE STEALS THE CONTENTS OF THE CAR, OR THE CAR ITSELF. AFTER DISCUSSING THESE ISSUES WITH THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE REP (DAN) THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THESE CASES. THIS FAILURE HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY THREE DAYS AND STARTED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER WE BOUGHT IT (AROUND 7/5/2002). WE'VE HAD 3 OTHER NEW LEASED VEHICLES (1998 DODGE RAM, 2000 PONTIAC GRAND AM, AND A 2001 DODGE RAM) SINCE MOVING INTO OUR CURRENT HOUSE AND HAVE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE ROADS WE DRIVE ON, OR HOW WE DRIVE THEM. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AS WELL AS THE SAFETY OF OTHERS WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR, HOWEVER I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE SINCE I CAN'T AFFORD TO TERMINATE THE LEASE AND BUY ANOTHER CAR.....PLEASE HELP. *NLM
WHEN FRONT PASSENGER MOVES FORWARD THE SEAT BELT WILL LOCK UP ON OCCASION. SOMETIMES YOU ARE UNABLE TO RELEASE THE INERTIA LOCK AND MUST TAKE THE SEAT BELT OFF COMPLETELY. THIS FAILURE HAS CAUSED ME TO BE LOCKED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND CAUSE GREAT DISCOMFORT. IT WILL NOT RELEASE WITHOUT TOTALLY RETRACTING THE SEAT BELT MEANING THAT YOU MUST TAKE THE BELT OFF WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME AND DID NOT CONSIDER IT TO BE A PROBLEM UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. DT
ENGINE STALL - TRUCK STALLED AND ALL LIGHTING AND COMPONENTS WENT DEAD WHILE SLOW TO STOP AT AN INTERSECTION. THE TRUCK COULD NOT BE RE-STARTED. AFTER 10 MINUTES, THE TRUCK STARTED AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ON. SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS TO START THE TRUCK FAILED RESULTING IN IT BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE COMPUTERS IN THE TRUCK AND IT HAS BEEN FINE EVER SINCE. I HEARD ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION FOR THE ENVOY AND BRAVADA BUT NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. MY TRUCK IS A TRAILBLAZER AND DID EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE TWO SISTER TRUCKS THAT SHARE THE SAME MECHANICALS.
SIDE MIRRORS EXHIBIT ERRATIC BEHAVIOR ON ENTRY TO VEHICLE. THEY NEVER RETURN TO PRESET POSITION. THIS EXISTED FROM PURCHASE OF THE NEW VEHICLE, A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. DELEAR SAYS IT REQUIRES TWO ACTUATORS AND SOFTWARE UPDATE COSTING $400. THE INCORRECTLY POSITIONED MIRRORS CAUSE A HAZZARD IF NOT NOTICED EACH TIME CAR IS UNLOCKED, ENTERED AND DRIVEN.
AT 15-20 MPH VEHICLE STARTED BUCKING. WAS TOWED TO DEALER, WHO STATED THAT TIE ROD HAD BROKEN. PLEASE INDICATE INNER OR END TIE ROD.*AK
WHILE DRIVING HEARD POPPING NOISE AND NOTICE UNDERCARIAGE CAUGHT ON FIRE, AND WITHIN MINUTES CAR EXPLODED . DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT.*AK
THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS WERE BURNING OUT CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BECAUSE THE PROBLEM RECURRED, HOWEVER THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. FUEL LINE DISCONNECTED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 50 MPH, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS. *AK DEALER FOUND VEHICLE HAD SEVERE GAS LEAK DUE TO RETAINER FAILURE. FUEL LINE FILTER RETAINERS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TT
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE DRIVNG . DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND WILL RUN AT A ROUGH IDLE, THIS WAS CAUSED BY A ENGINE COIL SHORTAGE. DEALER CONTACTED AND REPLACED PART. MR
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT REMAINS ON CONSTANTLY WHEN DRIVING AND WHILE IN PARK. DEALER INDICATES THAT AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER IS UNABLE TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PART BUT HAS INDICATED THAT SENSOR IN THE FRONT BUMPER WAS NOT SEALED PROPERLY AND IS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. *AK
AT 25MPH THEY HEARD A POPPING NOISE AND THEN FRONT PASSENGER'S WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH VEHICLE STALLED/ LOST BRAKING ABILITY, AND ALL OIL LEAKED OUT FROM VEHICLE. VEHICLE AT DEALERSHIP AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
I WAS SITTING AT A STOP SIGN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE(CONFIRMED BY THE DRIVER IN MY REAR THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON). MY CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN, REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MINE. THEN I ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE WITH MY FOOT STILL RESTING ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK LUNGED INTO REVERSE ON IT'S OWN AND HIT THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME AS WELL. *TS *NLM **DIMSII IVOQ ENTRY POSTED AFTER 12-12-02 CUT OVER TO ARTEMIS**762650
WHILE DRIVING 5-10 MPH, CONSUMER WAS HIT ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONTACTED DEALER AND THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE.*AK THE OTHER VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT AND TRAVELLING APPROX. 45 MPH. CONSUMER SUFFERED BRUISES, UPPER AND LOWER BACK PAINS, ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE AND PERIODIC NUMBNESS IN BOTH LEGS. JG
HAD NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FELT AS IF THERE WAS TOO MUCH "PLAY" LIKE IT WAS "WOBBLY" ESPECIALLY IF DRIVING OVER A RAISED BUMP IN THE ROADWAYS: THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD "GIVE" TOO MUCH. THIS HAD ALSO BEEN NOTICED BY ANOTHER PERSON WHO RECENTLY DROVE VEHICLE FOR A SHORT DISTANCE. I HAD PLANNED ON GETTING THE VEHICLE'S UNDERCARRIAGE INSPECTED ON JUNE 8TH TO CONFIRM WHETHER THERE WAS CAUSE FOR ALARM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON JUNE 2ND. THIS ACCIDENT WAS UNFORESEEN .... IT DID NOT INVOLVE ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE SPEED WAS NOT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, YET WHEN IT APPEARED THAT THE STEERING WAS UNABLE TO BE CONTROLLED, I WAS DRIVING EAST IN THE RIGHT LANE OF A TWO LANE ROADWAY, (THE OPPOSITE TWO LANE TRAFFIC IS DIVIDED BY AN ESPLANADE). THE VEHICLE VEERED INTO LEFT CORRESPONDING LANE, STRIKING THE EDGE OF THE ESPLANADE CURB WITH THE FRONT LEFT DRIVERS TIRE. THE CAR PROCEEDED TO NOT ONLY START A LEFT ROLLOVER, UP ONTO THE ESPLANADE, BUT APPARENTLY FLIPPED OVER FROM FRONT TO BACK, AND LANDED BACK UPRIGHT ALL THE WAY OVER THE ESPLANADE, ON THE OPPOSITE TWO LANE ROADWAY; AND FACING WEST --- THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THAT I WAS TRAVELING IN! THIS VEHICLE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TOTALLED...AND I AM CONCERNED THAT EITHER WAY, IF THERE IS A NEED FOR AN INVESTIGATION, OR IF THERE ARE ADDITIONAL INCIDENCES LIKE THIS THAT CONSUMERS NEED TO BE AWARE OF, THEN I NEED TO KNOW. NOT TO MENTION THAT UNLESS THERE'S EVIDENCE OTHERWISE, I WOULD PROBABLY PURCHASE ANOTHER TRAILBLAZER; THE COMFORT AND RIDE WAS SOMETHING THAT I DID ENJOY.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT BOTH FRONTAL PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SEAT BELTS LOCKED UP. ONCE THE SEAT BELT LOCKED UP CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO MOVE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. BUT, MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER HAD A TIRE FAILURE. *TC
PURCHASED A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN MARCH 2002. SINCE JUNE 2002 HAVE HAD IT NUMEROUS TIMES TO DEALER FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. A/C WON'T WORK ENTIRE INTRUEMENT PANEL BLACKOUTS,SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY CANNOT FIND CAUSE. INSUFFCIENT LUBRICATION FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OUTPUT SHAFT SEALS, THEY SAID THEY LUBRICATED THEM, ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER NEEDED TO HAVE SEALS REPLACED. SERVICE 4WD LIGHT,ABS LIGHT, EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT ALL CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME, THEN HEATER FAN WOULDN'T WORK. CALLED GARAGE CANNOT TAKE IT IN FOR ANOTHER WEEK. HAVE JUST WRITTEN A LETTER TO GM AND CALLED THE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. I DO NOT WANT THE CAR ANYMORE. IT ONLY HAS 19,500 MILES. 3000 WERE JUST PUT ON IT OVER X-MAS, WE DROVE TO FLA. KEYS AND BACK. *AK
PURCHASED FEB 1, 2002. SINCE THEN HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. HAD INTO 4 DIFFERENT DEARLERSHIPS FIXING MANY PROBLEMS BUT AFTER EACH VISIT ANOTHER PROBLEM OCCURS. FROM TAIL LIGHTS BURNING OUT, WINDHSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILURES, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED, HEATER CONTROL PANEL REPLACED ONCE, MEMORY MIRROR MODULES REPLACED 2 TIMES, HEATED SEAT SWITCHES REPLACED 2 TIMES, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER/REPLACED ENTIRE REAR WINDOW 1 TIME, BATTERY REPLACED 1 TIME ( SAID BATTERY WAS AT FAULT FOR CURRENT PROBLEMS) BATTERY WAS FINE AND CHARGED ME $ 150 FOR NEW BATTERY THAT WAS NOT THE CORRECT BATTERY REPLACEMENT, EXHAUST GASKET BECAME LOOSE/LOUD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED BECAUSE IT JUST CUT OFF AS I WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY GOING APPROX 65 MILES AN HOUR, I HAD TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD QUICKLY- HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. PROBLEM FIXED, HOWEVER AFTER I PICKED IT UP THEN THE CURRENT PROBLEM BEGAN. I COULD GO ON AND ON WITH THE PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE HAD. PRESENT PROBLEM IS THAT WHENEVER I TURN ON THE HEAT IT DIES OUT WITH NO WARNING---JUST STOPS AND STALLS. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY FIXD IT BUT UPON PICK UP THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. GONE TO PICK IT UP 2 TIMES, BUT WHEN I START IT AND PUT ON HEAT, IT DIES ALL OVER AGAIN EVEN AFTER DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY FIXED IT. I LIVE IN CHICAGO AND IT HAS BEEN A COLD WINTER. ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH ON ANOTHER EXPRESSWAY ON WAY HOME FROM HAVING THE AIRBAG SENSOR AND A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB DONE AND ALL FLUIDS CHANGED. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT WORTH $ 37,000 AND I FEEL IT IS TIME THAT GM ACCEPT SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS LEMON OF A VEHICLE. IT IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I AM STILL PAYING DEARLY FOR IT BUT LATELY CANNOT EVEN USE IT AS IT REMAINS IN ONE DEALERSHIP AFTER ANOTHER AT MY EXPENSE. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM GM. I NEED HELP AND ANSWERS AS I AM NOT GETTING ANYWHERE EVEN WITH THIS VEHICLE STILL UNDER WARRANTY.*AK
VEHICLE OWNER IS KENNETH STARR OF CLOVER, SC(GRANDFATHER). FUEL LINE BECAME DETACHED FROM ENGINE WHILE DRIVING ON THRUWAY, LARGE QUANTITIES OF FUEL SPRAYED ON AND AROUND ENGINE. VEHICLE IS NOT IN PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, WOULD SUGGEST THIS PROBLEM IS WIDER THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT. IN OPINION OF TROOPER AND MACHANIC, IT WAS ONLY THE FACT THAT HE WAS GOING 60+ MPH THAT KEPT THE FUEL FROM HITTING THE MANIFOLD AND IGNITING, WITH THE AMOUNT OF FUEL RELEASED, SURVIVAL OF VEHICLE OCCUPANTS WOULD HAVE BEEN A UNLIKELY. MANUFACTURE DATE OF THIS VEHICLE IS LISTED AS 01/02.*AK

ENGINE PROBLEMS; VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES,AND THAT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
WHILE CHANGING LANES, STEERING HAS LOCKED UP AND CAUSED VEHICLE TO RUN INTO A CONCRETE WALL, MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK AFTER THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP, THE VEHICLE HIT THE CONCRETE WALL AND ROLLED BACKWARDS CRASHING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A RECALL ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH THE STEERING COLUMN. *YH
THE CONSUMERS ENGINE FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ONE INCIDENT CAUSED ANOTHER DRIVER TO CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING THE CONSUMER, THE ENGINE COIL SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM. *SCC

COOLING FAN HAD INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS OF RACING WHEN YOU STEPPED ON GAS, NOW COOLING FAN IS RACING CONSTANTLY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER AND CHEVROLET THAT A NEW PART HAS TO BE DESIGNED. NO ONE KNOWS HOW LONG THIS WILL TAKE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED MY CAR OVER, AND I WAS INSIDE THE CAR UNTIL A TOW TRUCK ARRIVED. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER INFORMED ME THAT GASOLINE WAS POURING OUT FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. A CLIP FAILURE THAT LEFT MY TRUCK SITTING IN A GASOLINE PIPE. GM FIXED IT, BUT GAVE IT BACK TO ME WITH NO GAS IN MY CAR. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE GAS STATION. *LA
HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROMBLEMS:FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT TIGHTENS ON PASSENGER WILL NOT RELEASE UNTIL TAKEN OFF.BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN WORKED ON 5 TIMES SINCE SUV WAS PURCHASED IN 2002.HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS TRAILBLAZERS ON THE ROAD WITH THE SAME PROMBLEM. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROMBLEM !!!!

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE WASHER DOES NOT SPRAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT WINDSHEILD, THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. NLM THE DEALER STATES THE FAILURE OF THE WINDSHIELD WASHER WAS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW AT FACTORY. *YH
THE BRAKE LIGHT IN MY TRUCK FAILED. I HAVE HAD CHEVY REPLACE THE CIRCUIT BOARD BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE VEHICLE GOES THROUGH LIGHT BULBS ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE BULB AND THE CIRCUIT BOARD. IT BURNS OUT THE METAL WIRE USED IN THE CONTACT. THE FILAMENT NEVER BURNS OUT.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS THERE IS A VIBRATING SENSATION. TS ALSO, WHEN STARTING ENGINE,SOMETIMES THERE IS A HIGHER THAN NORMAL ENGINE IDLE, AND IT WON'T IDLE DOWN. WHEN STARTING TO DRIVE IDLE IS STILL HIGH, BUT IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH, DRIVER HEARD A TICKING NOISE, SUDDENLY ENGINE DIED. DRIVER HAD TO FORCE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. *AK IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE HAD BLOWN, THE 4WD HAS ALSO BEEN REPAIRED TWICE AND THE FRONT BRAKES SHAKE WHEN APPLIED, MILEAGE TO DATE 12,000-8/02. *YH
WHILE DRIVING AT 25-30 MPH IN RAINY CONDITIONS, THE CONSUMER HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND RAN SIDEWAYS INTO A TREE, BUT THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONTACTED DEALER/MANUFACTURER WHO WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *AK THE ACCIDENT IMPACTED AT A PILAR BETWEEN THE FRONT/REAR PASSENGER DOOR. THE SEAT WHERE AIR BAG WAS LOCATED HAD BEEN CRUSHED. THE ROOF AND THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED, THE AIR BAG(S) DID NOT DEPLOY. IF SOMEONE WERE SITTING THERE THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THE SYSTEM ON THE BOARD DID NOT DEPLOY DUE TO THE PITCH OF THE IMPACT. *SCC
SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, (FEB. '02) TO PRESENT (JULY '03) MY 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LTZ 2WD HAS FREQUENT-TO-CONSTANT "PINGING" IN ENGINE WHILE ACCELERATING; FLAT SURFACES AND INCLINES. HIGHER OCTANE GASOLINE DOES NOT REMEDY. REPRESENTATIVE AT DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. STATES THIS IS "NORMAL" WITH TRAI*BLAZERS. I AM CONCERNED THAT IT IS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE HEADS.*AK
PROBLEMS WITH AIR BAG DASH LIGHT, FAST ENGINE IDLE, AIR CONDITIONER, REAR HATCH INNER STRAP BROKE, ETC...*MR THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS INTERMITTENT. THE SIR MODULE WAS REPLACED, AND THERE WAS POOR TERMINAL CONNECTION AT THE SIR WIRING HARNESS, AND WAS TRACED/REPAIRED ON THE LEFT SIDE IMPACT CONNECTOR AND THE CODES WERE CLEARED. THE ENGINE IDLED FAST(ESPECIALLY AT START UP, AND THE FUEL MILEAGE WAS 13 MPG. THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION AND REPAIRS WERE: PASSENGER IMPACT CONNECTOR WAS LOOSE(REPOSITIONED/CONNECTED), IDLE WITHIN SPECIFICS, THE EMBLEM HAD FALLEN OFF, THE REAR HATCH INNER STRAP HAD BROKEN, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO TAKE LONG TO SHIFT INTO GEAR(HAPPENED SOMETIMES WHEN COLD), AND THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED(J6355 POWER TRAIN CONTROLLER PCM). THERE WAS A THUMPING SOUND IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHEN SHIFTED, THE A/C WOULD BLOW OUT COLD AIR WHEN THE A/C INDICATOR WAS OFF, HOT AIR WOULD COME OUT OF THE DEFROSTER AREA ON THE DASH WHEN THE INDICATOR WAS SET FOR HEATER ON THE FLOOR, THE ENGINE MADE A TAPPING SOUND, THE LIFT GATE WEATHER STRIP HAD COME APART, AND THE BATTERY KEPT LOSING CHARGE(3 OCCURRENCES). *SCC *JB
SIDE VIEW MIRROR WILL CHANGE AUTOMATIC SETTING, AT THE TIME WHEN CONSUMER USES POWER LOCK. COULD SET SIDE VIEW MIRROR AT HEIGHT DESIRED, BUT IT WILL CHANGE AS SOON AS POWER LOCK IS USED. *AK THE FRONT SIDE MIRRORS ELECTRONICALLY LOCKED POSITION CHANGES DUE TO MEMORY OF THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING. *YH
ENGINE DIED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO START VEHICLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WHEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED, I NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE THAT SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE AND SAW THAT GAS WAS STILL LEAKING OUT. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. DEALER FOUND FUEL FILTER RETAINING CLIP HAD COME LOOSE. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY ALSO REPLACED 4WD SWITCH. IT HAD BEEN SWITCHING TO 4HI AND 4LO WHILE IN A4WD. NOT EVEN TWO DAYS LATER, THE CAR AGAIN DIED WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT 55 MPH. ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER, SO VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP IT WAS BOUGHT FROM. WHEN DEALERSHIP SERVICE TRIED TO START THE CAR IT CRANKED ONCE THEN A SOUND LIKE FREE SPINNING WAS APPARENT. WHEN THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REMOVED BROKEN PIECES OF PISTON AND RING WERE FOUND INSIDE THE ENGINE AND THE SPARK PLUGS WERE SMASHED. ENGINE WAS REPLACED.

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR LOCKS UP WITH OUT CAUSE THE PASSENGER HAS TO UNBUCKLE THE SEAT BELT TO RELEASE THE LOCK. MR
CONSUMER STARTED VEHICLE AND SHIFTED TO REVERSE AND SUDDENLY SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD, CONSUMER COULD NOT GET OUT OF VEHICLE SINCE DOORS LOCKED UPON STARTING VEHICLE. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET OUT THROUGH REAR PASSENGER DOOR THAT HAD NOT BEEN SHUT PROPERLY. DEALER DETERMINED THAT BATTERY CABLES SHORTED OUT, AND SHUT DOWN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. DEALER WAS EXCHANGING VEHICLE.*AK
