CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER - INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FAILURE. TACHOMETER INOPERATIVE AND ERRATIC WITH ONLY 42K MILES ON VEHICLE. UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS ALSO A SYMPTOM FOR THE REMAINING GAUGES IN THE CLUSTER. *TR GM HAS SPECIAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE FOR ALL OTHER TRUCK PRODUCTS EXCEPT ENVOY AND TRAILBLAZER.
I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH 4WD. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS ROLLED AWAY WHILE IN PARK. ALSO, THE VEHICLE ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WENT FORWARD WHEN THE GEAR SELECT WAS IN REVERSE. FINALLY, ON 4 OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE PUT ITSELF IN NEUTRAL. TWICE AT SPEED AND TWICE WHILE WAITING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THIS VEHICLE NEARLY RAN OVER MY 3-YEAR-OLD CHILD AND THE DEALER CLAIMS ALL OF THESE INSTANCES HAVE BEEN DRIVER ERROR. I'VE HAD IT WITH GM AND THEIR UNWILLINGNESS TO SEE ANY URGENCY WITH THIS HUGE SAFETY RELATED ISSUE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER FAILED DURING HOLIDAY TRIP . HAD CRUISE ON WHEN APPROACH AN INTERSECTION MADE TURN WHEN I CHECKED SPEED IT SAID 90 SLOWED DOWN WAS ALMOST REARENDED AFTER THAT I REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED SO I DROVE WITH FLOW OF TRAFFIC .NEXT DAY GOT ON LINE DID SOME RESEARCH FOUND OUT GM HAS THIS PROBLEM ON SEVERAL TYPES OF VEHICLES SOME RECALLED SOME NOT .AS OF NOW I DISCONNECTED BATTERY FOR 15MIN.RECONNECTED IT AND ITS WORKING AGAIN. TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS A 300 -700 DOLLAR REPAIR .DOESN'T SEEM FAIR BECAUSE THEY SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE . IF A YOUNG DRIVER OR ELDERLY DRIVER WERE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY COULD CAUSE A CHAIN REACTION ACCIDENT COUNTLESS INJURIES / DEATHS AND PROPERTY DAMAGE. GM KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM WHY AREN'T THEY FORCED TO FIX IT. GOES BACK TO THE 2001 MODEL YEAR TO PRESENT .THE INTERNET HAS PROBABLY THOUSANDS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. AND COULDN'T ACCESS GMS COMPLAINT SITE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER FREEZES UP AND WILL NOT GO BACK TO 0. HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN 6 WEEKS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING ALL OF THE LIGHTS AND FUNCTIONS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD OFFER HIM NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000. UPDATED 1/19/2010 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. UPDATED 03/31/11
STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2008 WHILE LIVING IN MINNESOTA, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STARTED SHOWING INCORRECT READINGS. FIRST, THE SPEEDOMETER, THEN AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER, MOST OF THE GAUGES LIKE FUEL, TEMP, AND OIL PRESSURE. THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 100 MPH WITH THE CAR STOPPED. AFTER WINTER, THE GAUGES AND SPEEDOMETER RETURNED TO NORMAL WITH ONLY AN OCCASIONAL BAD READING. I MOVED TO FLORIDA IN 2009, AND WENT ABOUT SIX MONTHS WITH NO ISSUES, BUT STARTING SUMMER OF 2010, THE ERRATIC SPEEDOMETER READINGS STARTED AGAIN. I CONTACTED CHEVY AND WAS TOLD A SIMILAR PROBLEM HAD BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL FOR TAHOES AND OTHER VEHICLES, BUT THAT THE TRAILBLAZER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE +/- $700 REPAIR BILL MYSELF. *TR
GAUGES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. FIRST ONE WAS SPEEDOMETER THEN OIL PRESSURE GAGE AND TACHOMETER. I AM SURE MORE WILL FOLLOW. ALSO ELECTRIC SEAT NO LONGER MOVES FORWARD OR BACKWARD. *TR
HEAD LAMPS AND SOCKETS KEEP BURNING OUT. *TR
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ON WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. HAD IT CHECKED INTO, ERROR CODE INDICATED A LEAK IN FUEL SYSTEM. SUGGESTED A NEW GAS CAP. THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A CRACK IN THE NIPPLE ON THE GAS TANK WHERE THE FILL PIPE HOSE CONNECTS. NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TANK. APPR. COST JUST FOR THE TANK $500 PLUS LABOR. *TR
MY TACH STARTED TO NOT WORK IN THE COLD OF 07-08, THEN MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE STARTED TO PEG OUT. NOW MY SPEEDOMETER IS READING OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNTS WHEN I AM PARKED, OR DRIVING. IT HAS NOT WORKED FOR MONTHS NOW. NO REPLACEMENT AS OF YET. *TR
MY HUSBAND REPLACED THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ON THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY TRAILBLAZER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES WITHIN A FEW MONTHS. WE THEN TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP AND THEY REPLACED THE CONNECTOR. ONCE AGAIN I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE RIGHT LOW BEAM. WHEN I START THE VEHICLE, IT LIGHTS UP, BUT ONCE I TURN ON THE BRIGHTS AND RETURN TO LOW BEAM, IT REFUSES TO COME ON. *KB
MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER LTZ NEEDS A SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. THIS FIRST STARTED HAPPENING AT APPROX. 59,000 MILES. I NOW HAVE 61,000 MILES ON MY CAR, AND GM REFUSES TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE TO MY CAR. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON OTHER CHEVY MODELS, BUT GM CLAIMS THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PROBLEMS WITH THE TRAILBLAZERS TO "FIX" THIS PROBLEM. MY ESTIMATE IS $390.00 + TAX AFTER PAYING $106.00 FOR THEM TO ANALYZE THE PROBLEM AND TELL ME IT IS BROKEN (WHICH I KNEW BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER READING 92 MPH WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF IN THE DEALERSHIP GARAGE). I'VE CONTACTED GM SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP, WITH NO LUCK IN GETTING THIS CORRECTED. I'VE CONTACTED THE BBB ALSO. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, I'VE RESEARCHED THIS, 100'S OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME QUALITY ISSUE AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. AS A LOYAL GM DRIVER I WANT THEM TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND FIX KNOWN PROBLEMS LIKE THIS ONE. *TR
GM FAILED TO FIX RECALL # 04087 NOV 01, 2004 | RECALL ID# 25264 EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS NOV 01, 2004 MODEL AFFECTED TRAILBLAZER ------------------------------- MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER RIGHT BRAKE TAIL LAMP IS INOPERATIVE AND I AM GOING TO FAIL MY ANNUAL SAFETY INSPECTION. CHECKED BULBS AND SWITCHED LAMP BOARD 16532713 TO DETERMINE IT WAS A FAULTY LAMP BOARD. DETERMINED PART WAS ON RECALL LIST IN 2004. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE PART. DEALERSHIP, LINDSEY CHEVEROLETT, IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE SINCE THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE BOARD IN 2005 WHEN THE CAR WAS IN FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE. CONTACTED GM HEADQUARTERS CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR, PAULA ALVERA, AND SHE SAID I WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR A CERTIFIED GM MECHANIC TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A $25 PART. CONCERNED GM HAS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR THIS RECALL THAT ONLY LAST 2-3 YEARS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 68,000.
ORIGINALLY, IT BEGAN WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. EVERY SO OFTEN IT WOULD READ INCORRECTLY, BOTH LOW AND HIGH. AS IT HAPPENED A LITTLE MORE OFTEN, I BEGAN ASKING AROUND TO FIND OUT IF OTHERS I WOULD MEET HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF DEFECT, I FOUND THIS TO BE A MORE COMMON PROBLEM. AS TIME PASSED I SIMPLY IGNORED THE PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER TOWING A FEW CANOES UP TO A LAKE AND THE TACHOMETER STARTED READING VERY HIGH, DESPITE THE MOTOR IDLING NORMALLY. EVENTUALLY, THE TACH WENT BACK TO NORMAL, BUT SHORTLY AFTER ACTED UP AGAIN. ALL THE WHILE THE FUEL GAUGE IS STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY, GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE THE NEEDLE IS COMPLETELY INVERTED. THEN THE VOLTMETER BEGAN TO CLIMB, GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE THE NEEDLE IS REGISTERING OFF THE SCALE. SO NOW THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE VOLTMETER ARE COMPLETELY AND OBVIOUSLY REGISTERING OUTSIDE OF THEIR SET PARAMETERS, BUT THE TACH IS OFTEN SUSPECT AS WELL. *TR
GASOLINE SMELL WHEN CAR IS RUNNING. POSSIBLY RELATED TO FUEL TANK CONNECTORS. *TR
2003 TRAILBLAZER THAT'S BEEN MAKING A TAPPING NOISE FOR MONTHS WHEN I TURN IT OFF BUT TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. TOLD SOMETIME EXHAUST SYSTEM MAKES THIS INNOCENT NOISE. NOW STARTED THE TRAILBLAZER AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A JET TAKING OFF THEN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOLD BY DEALER THAT CLUTCH FAN BROKEN AND NEED TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AT A COST OF $900. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, FOUND HUNDREDS OF OWNERS WITH THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. REQUESTING A RECALL!!! *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DOOR WAS NOT AIR TIGHT AND WOULD LET IN AIR & RAIN IN. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME AND AFTER APPROXIMATELY A COUPLE WEEKS THE PROBLEM WILL START AGAIN. THE WHOLE AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM HAS FAILED, THE BLOWER GOES ON AND OFF BY ITS SELF; BUT WHEN YOU TRY AND TURN IT ON IT WILL NOT TURN ON. THIS INCLUDES THE DEFROSTER AND HEATER IT MAKES DRIVING VERY HAZARDOUS WHEN THE WINDOWS FOGS UP. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRAILBLAZERS; HE HAS SEEN A LARGE NUMBER OF TRAILBLAZERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ALONG WITH PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK HATCH GLASS SEPARATING FROM THE HINGE. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO MY TRAILBLAZER AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE GLASS OR THE ENTIRE HATCH. I LOVE MY TRAILBLAZER BUT DISAPPOINTED WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THE VEHICLE. *TR
2003 TRAILBLAZER LS STARTED LEAKING FUEL FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK. GAS SMELL IS PRESENT ALL THE TIME. FUEL TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BUT THE VEHICLE RAN O.K. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING AND HE BELIEVED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS. IT WASN'T A RECALL SO WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OURSELVES AND SINCE WE REGULARLY CHANGE/CHECK OUR OIL I WASN'T TOO WORRIED. NOW WE HAVE NOTICED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE HAS SHOT ALL THE WAY AROUND AND HAS STAYED BUT WHEN IT IS REALLY COLD OUTSIDE IT DROPS BACK TO NORMAL. THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE RPM GAUGE ALSO STICKS. SPENT MANY DAYS FOR A FEW YEARS TRYING TO SOLVE PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO AND DVD PLAYER NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND SWITCHING STATIONS ON ITS OWN AND AFTER SEVERAL REPLACEMENTS FINALLY GAVE UP BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER CORRECTED. THIS IS A REAL CONCERN AS I DO TRAVEL BY MYSELF AND RELY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE TRAILBLAZER AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY CHEVORLET. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW HATCHES ARE RUSTING THROUGH AND I FEAR THIS WILL CAUSE THE GLUE TO SEPARATE FROM THE GLASS. ONCE THE GLUE SEPARATES THE WINDOW WILL FALL OUT. OTHER THEN THE HINGES RUSTING I SEE NO OTHER OBVIOUS SIGNS OF RUST. *TR
LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVEING AT NIGHT. *TR
I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN I BROUGHT THIS CAR NEW. AFTER ONE YEAR I HAD TO REPLACE LINC PLATE. OVER THE YEARS EVERYTHING HAS GONE WRONG WITH THIS CAR. SPEEDOMETER HAS NOT WORKED SINCE AUG. '08, GAS GAUGE STOPPED OCT. '11. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SINCE 2010 AND GM KNOWS THIS IS A DEFECTED PART. YET GM PAID FOR THIS SAME DEFECTED PART AT THEIR COST FOR THE TAHOE, BUT HAS NOT PAID FOR THE TRAILBLAZER. WHY? WINDOWS AND DOORS DO NOT UNLOCK ON COMMAND. WINDOW WIPER(REAR) STOPPED WORKING-I REPLACED THAT PART. A/C COMES ON MY ITSELF. THERMOSTAT FAILURE. I THINK GM SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THE ONLY REASON THEY WOULD NOT IS THAT THEY ALREADY KNOW THAT THEY ARE PRODUCING SUBSTANDARD PRODUCTS THAT ARE NOT FIT TO BE DRIVEN ON THE ROAD. *TR
I WAS GOING OUT TO MY SUV WHICH IS A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT TO OPEN THE BACK IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE BUT NO ICE WAS VISIBLE ON MY TRUCK OR ANYTHING I HEARD A CRACK I THOUGH IT WAS ICE EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING BUT NOTICED MY TAIL LIGHT COVER ON TOP LOOKED BROKE SO TOOK IT TO LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO GET CHECKED THEY SAID YES IT IS CRACKED IT WILL COST YOU 1800 DOLLARS TO FIX I DID NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR A LITTLE PIECE BUT GUY SAID YOU WILL BE FINE AS LONG AS THE LIFTGATE LIFTS WHICH IT DID IT SEEMED FINE THEN ON THE WAY TO OUR DESTINATION ONE DAY ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY THE PIECE FLEW HALF WAY OFF FLAPPING BEHIND US FREAKING OUT WE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE WE HAD TO RIP IT OFF NO CHOICE OR WE WERE STUCK THEIR AND THE PIECE WOULD OF FLEW OFF AND CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. WELL IT IS STILL OFF UNTIL IT GETS REPAIRED BUT THIS JUST IN THE LAST WEEK I SEEN 2 MORE TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH THE SAME PIECE MISSING JUST IN MY SMALL TOWN OF POTTSVILLE WHICH HAD ME THINKING THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. BUT WHAT CONCERNED ME THE MOST WAS THE THIRD TRAILBLAZER EXT IN A WAL-MART PARKING LOT WITH THE PIECE BROKE BUT STILL ATTACHED.THAT PERSON PROBABLY HAS NO IDEA THAT THE PIECE WILL PROBABLY FALL OFF WILL ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I DID TALK TO THE LADY DOWN THE STREET FROM ME WHICH WAS ONE OF THE TRAILBLAZERS I SEEN AND ASK SHE SAID THE SAME THING THAT IT CRACKED WHEN OPENING THEN TOOK IT TO SHOP THEY SAID YOUR LUCKY THIS PIECE COULD HAVE FLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING. SO PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE 2003-2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS ACTIVATED AND NOW IT WILL NOT DEACTIVATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V046000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER). THE DEALER WILL LET THE CONTACT KNOW IF THEY WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 77,000.
TRANSMISSION LINES ROTTED OUT. LOST FLUID AND TRANNY WENT SOUTH!. 1400 FOR REPAIRS!. THANKS ALOT GM. JUNK! *TR
RIGHT SIDE BRAKE AND SIGNAL LAMPS CONTINUE TO BURN OUT. WHOLE BRACKET HOLDS WATER, DEALER WAS SUPPOSE TO FIX PROBLEM, BUT AFTER THE RECALL WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, BRAKE LAMP AND TURN SIGNAL LAMPS CONTINUE TO SHORT OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT OBSERVED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH; THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT READING INTERMITTENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE RPM REMAINED INCORRECT AND THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWED A FAULTY READING. THE FAILURES OCCURRED AT ANY SPEED RATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,488. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHILE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL OF MY 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, THE SPEEDOMETER BEGINS TO READ ERRATICALLY. SOMETIMES, IT IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG, BUT IT ALSO SLOWLY CREEPS TO A DIFFERENT SPEED WITHOUT NOTICING IT. ALSO THE CRUISE CONTROL SEEMS TO FOLLOW WITH THE SPEEDOMETER WHETHER OR NOT IT IS READING CORRECTLY. *TR
MY FAMILY & I WERE ON OUR WAY BACK FROM CHICAGO ON I-55 NEAR PONTIAC IL WHEN WE HAD A TIRE BLOW-OUT ON OUR '03 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I TRIED TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT LOWER. (CHEVYS HAVE A WINCH SYSTEM FOR THE SPARE TIRES) THE TIRE WOULD LOWER ABOUT 2 INCHES, BUT WOULD NOT LOWER COMPLETELY. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO LOWER THE SPARE W/ NO RESULTS!! IF THIS SYSTEM WOULD HAVE WORKED PROPERLY I WOULD HAVE HAD THE FLAT CHANGED IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. THE SPARE TIRE STORAGE IS A GOOD SYSTEM, IF IT WORKS! THERE WAS NO RUST ON THE CABLE, OR ANYTHING HINDERING IT FROM WORKING THE WAY THAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNERS' MANUAL TO NO AVAIL! IT JUST DIDN'T WORK! BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY SYSTEM, I HAD TO CALL A TOWING SERVICE TO GET OUR VEHICLE HAULED BACK TO BLOOMINGTON FROM OUTSIDE OF PONTIAC. THE BILL FOR SAID TOW, WOUND UP COSTING MY FAMILY $255.00. WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO TO HAVE A SPARE TIRE ON A VEHICLE, IF YOU CAN'T RETRIEVE IT FROM IT'S STORAGE SPOT? AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILS TO SHIFT INTO SECOND. LOUD REVVING NOISE, FAILURE TO SHIFT. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES CORRODED WHICH CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK OUT WHILE ON A 20 MILE ROUND TRIP FROM OUR HOUSE. THE TRUCK STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AS WE PULLED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND THERE IT DIED. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEAD, REBUILD OR REPLACE. I PAID TO TOW IT TO THE GM DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND THEY CONFIRMED THE TRANNY WAS DEAD. ALUMINUM COOLING LINES ROTTED OUT, DRAINED THE FLUID AND THE UNIT FRIED. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR MONITORING OF THIS FLUID LEVEL PER GM. THIS TRUCK HAD BEEN SERVICED BY THIS DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS IS NOT A COMMON OCCURRENCE BUT THIS IS NOT RARE EITHER. HE SAID GM WILL NOT HELP WITH THE REPAIRS AND HE WAS RIGHT. I HAD THE LOCAL TRANNEY SHOP DO THE REPAIRS FOR 2500.00, LESS THAN GM'S 4500.00. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK, I WILL DO ANOTHER REPORT REGARDING THE FAILED DOOR LATCHES, AND I GAVE GM THE TIME TO REPAIR THEIR PROBLEMS AND THEN THEY TELL YOU TO "STUFF IT" WHEN THEIR BAD DESIGNS GET REAL COSTLY. LAST GM IN MY DRIVEWAY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A REPORT AND DECLINED TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT PAID $307 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 32,000. FAN CLUTCH NOT WORKING. I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS. I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS PROBLEM THROUGH THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE I CAN UNDERSTAND SEVERAL BUT NOT IN THE HUNDREDS. THERE IS A BAD TAPPING NOISE AND IT'S FROM THE FAN CLUTCH GOING BAD. IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

DRIVING ON VACATION TOWING CAMPER. TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND NOTHING. GOT TO GAS STATION. NO TRANS FLUID. GOT IT TO DEALERSHIP . THEY SAID TRANS BLOWN DUE TO WATER IN TRANS. DIPSTICK RUSTED INHALF. LEAK WITH HOSE CAUSED PROBLEM. GOT FIXED GM ONLY PAID 1/2 BECAUSE WE FOUGHT. HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY SAID MANUFACTURER DEFECT. FOUND SERVICE BULLETIN ON INTERNET. INTERMITTENTLY THE SPEEDOMETER READS FROM A FEW MPH HIGH TO 70 MPH HIGH. THIS PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED ACROSS THE GM PRODUCT LINE AND IS COVERED IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER BY GM. BUT NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. WHY NOT? *TR
3 MONTHS AGO I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY SPEEDOMETER. I WOULD BE SITTING STILL AND IT WOULD BE READING 50 MPH. THIS WOULD OCCUR OFTEN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE GARAGE AND THEY REPLACED THE SPEED SENSOR AND THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND I WAS INFORMED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO GM DEALER BECAUSE THIS WAS SOMETHING THEY COULD NOT FIX SINCE IT INVOLVED THE CLUSTER GUAGE. NOW THIS GUAGE IS RESTING ANY WHERE BETWEEN 100 AND 120 MPH. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN DOING ALOT OF RESEARCH AND SEE THAT I AM NOT AONE IN THIS PROBLEM WIH THE SPEEDOMETER. *TR
THREE OF THE FOUR DOOR LATCHING MECHANISMS HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THIS TRUCK. THE DOORS WOULD LOOK LIKE THEY CLOSED BUT THEY WOULD OPEN AS YOU TURNED A CORNER. THIS OCCURRED TWICE WHEN I HAD MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK, FIRST ON THE PASSENGER LEFT SIDE THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER THE PASSENGER RIGHT SIDE. I AM GLAD GM DIDN'T SCREW UP THE SEAL BELTS TOO. BEGAN TO SMELL FUEL FROM THE REAR OF MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER EXT. I HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING THE FILLER NECK SOME TIMES CRACKS AND WOULD BE FIXED WITHOUT COST. HEARD FUNNY NOISE COMING FROM VEHICLE. AFTER THAT THE CARS BATTERY WOULD BE DEAD. COULD RECHARGE BATTERY BUT IT WOULD BE DEAD THE NEXT DAY. TOOK IT IN TO A PRIVATE SHOP WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ABS MODULE UNDER THE FRAME WAS CORRODED AND DRAWING DOWN THE BATTERY BY GROUNDING ON THE FRAME. IT ALSO DESTROYED A COMPUTER AND TWO PLUGS ON THE TRANSMISSION NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH. TOTAL REPAIRS TO VEHICLE TOTALED OVER $2,300.00. *TR

DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDOW FALLS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING, INTO THE DOOR. WILL NOT ROLL UP INTO THE FULLY CLOSED POSITION WHEN ELECTRIC WINDOW SWITCH IS ACTIVATED. MUST MANUALLY PUSH THE GLASS INTO THE FULLY CLOSED POSITION, HOWEVER, AS STATED ABOVE, IT WILL FALL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS CREATES A SERIOUS HAZARD IN THAT WHEN THE WINDOW FALLS WITHOUT WARNING, NOT ONLY CAN THE DRIVER BE STARTLED AND MAKE A DRIVING ERROR, BUT ALSO, GIVEN THE EXTERIOR CONDITIONS, CREATE A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING / OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. *TR
