ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE FAILED TO ACTIVATE WHEN ENGAGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SHE REPLACED THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TAIL LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ON MORE THAN TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND LOST CONTROL CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND LANDED ON ITS SIDE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. I WAS DROPPING THE FAMILY OFF AT A BIRTHDAY PARTY BEFORE GOING INTO WORK. THE FAMILY KEPT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE STRONG GAS FUMES. THE SMELL WAS EXTREMELY OVERPOWERING. WHEN I ARRIVED AT WORK, I NOTICED THAT IT LOOKED LIKE GAS WAS LEAKING AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE GAS TANK, ON TOP. THEN, THE GAUGE STARTED NOT REGISTERING WHEN GAS WAS BEING PUT IN. IT IS ALSO VERY HARD TO START UP. THE VEHICLE TAKES 2 CRANKS BEFORE IT WILL ACTUALLY START UP. WHEN I ASKED A MECHANIC WHAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE, HE STATED THAT THE TRAILBLAZERS ARE KNOWN FOR HAVING AN EXPOSED AREA ON TOP OF TANK THAT GETS CORRODED AND THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENDING UNIT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATE WAS FOR $700-800 DOLLARS. I CANNOT CONTINUE DRIVING UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED, OTHERWISE, SOMEONE WILL FLICK A CIGARETTE OUT WINDOW AND THE TRAILBLAZER WILL BLOW UP. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SPINE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER BEGAN TO REEK OF GASOLINE, PERMEATING OUR GARAGE & HOUSE WITH THE SMELL. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PIPES BETWEEN THE TANK & THE FILL CAP; HOWEVER, THEY SAID I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FUEL FILTER MYSELF. NOTE THAT PRIOR TO WARRANTY WORK, THERE WAS NO LEAKING, PUDDLING OF FUEL, OR ANY INDICATION THAT IT WAS LEAKING. THERE WERE JUST FUMES. IT HAS ONLY 95K MILES ON IT, SO IT'S WITHIN THE 120K/10 YR WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN WARRANTY WORK BEGAN, THEY "DISCOVERED" A LEAK WHEN THEY REMOVED THE BELT THAT HOLDS THE TANK TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT I "MUST HAVE" GOTTEN A ROCK OR SOME DEBRIS UNDERNEATH THE BELT TO HAVE CAUSED THE LEAK. FUNNY, IT DIDN'T LEAK UNTIL THEY TOUCHED IT. NOW THE AREA REP IS DEMANDING "CUSTOMER PARTICIPATION" IN REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK (WHICH THEY ADMIT IS A SAFETY HAZARD). OH, & WHEN THEY SHOWED ME THE LEAK, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THE SERVICE REP SAID "OF COURSE, YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY". BUT AS SOON AS THE GM AREA REP BAILED ON PAYING THE ESCALATED WARRANTY WORK, THE DEALERSHIP RECANTED THEIR PROMISE TO ME. WHEN I PROTESTED, THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTED GM MIGHT NOT PAY ANYTHING IF I PROCEED WITH A WARRANTY CLAIM, COSTING ME $1100+ FOR THE FUEL TANK AND $100+ FOR THE FUEL FILTER. I KNOW THE AREA REP HAS A FUND TO PAY FOR IT, BUT CHOOSES NOT TO. ALL SERVICE WORK INCLUDING OIL CHANGES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON TIME, FROM DAY 1. THE WARRANTY SERVICE OFFERED TO ME IS LESS THAN OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM HAVE RECEIVED (GM PAID FULL REPAIRS FOR OTHERS, INCL. FUEL FILTER & FUEL TANK). I CAN PROVE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT LEAKING GASOLINE PRIOR TO THE TIME WARRANTY WORK BEGAN. HISTORY SHOWS LEAKING GAS TANKS HAVE A NASTY TENDENCY TO BLOW UP. I HAVE A 2003 TRAILBLAZER LAST YEAR WE NOTICED PAINT WAS FADING OFF HOOD ,THIS YEAR IT IS SO BAD I NEED TO HAVE THE WHOLE HOOD REPAINTED, I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A FACTORY DEFECT IN THE PAINT , I HAVE SEEN MANY TRAILBLAZERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM,HOPING THERE IS A RECALL SOMEWHERE SO I CAN GET MY HOOD PAINTED. *TR
WE OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE GAUGES CONSTANTLY MESS UP. SOME MY SPEED, OIL GAUGE AND RPM SEEM TO ACT NORMAL, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GAUGES START MISREADING OR THE SPEEDOMETER WILL GO DOWN TO ZERO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I CAN'T TELL HOW FAST I'M GOING AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS POST WITH PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. ITS NOT SAFE FOR ANYBODY NOT TO KNOW HOW FAST THEIR GOING. GM NEEDS TO INITIATE A RECALL AND COVER THE COST FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE LIGHTS MELT THE HARNESSES IN THE FRONT LIGHTS FREQUENTLY. MORE THAN 2 TIMES A YEAR THE TAIL LIGHT NEEF CONSTANT REPLACEMENT FROM FAULTY WIRING. THE WIRES ARE NOT BIG ENOUGB TO HANDLE THE LOAD. IT HAPPENS AT ANY TIME IT WANTS DOESNT MATTER IF ITS SITTING IN PARK OR DRIVING.
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. ON 03/07/2013 IT STARTED TO LEAK FUEL WHILE PARKED IN THE GARAGE, I TOOK IT TO BEARDMORE CHEVROLET IN BELLEVUE,NEBRASKA TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK CRACKING AND LEAKING ALONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP LEAKING AND POOLING FUEL ON TOP OF THE TANK, THEY INFORMED ME THAT GM HAD A SERVICE LETTER OUT THAT COVERED FULL REPLACEMENT OF TANK,PUMP AND LINES AT NO CHARGE FOR 10YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, I HAVE 81260 MILES AND AN IN SERVICE DATE OF 03/26/03 SO I WAS 10 DAYS OUT OF WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR. DEALER CALLED GM FOR ME AND GOT APPROVAL TO REPAIR THE TRAILBLAZER WITH ME PAYING 500.00 OF THE 2200.00 REPAIR. I TOOK THE DEAL AS THEY COULD HAVE JUST DENIED THE WHOLE CLAIM. SO PEOPLE IF YOU SMELL FUEL OF HAVE A WET FUEL TANK GET IT TO THE DEALER ASAP. GM HELPING WITH THE BILL IS BETTER THAN NOTHING. I WAS ALSO TOLD THE NEW PARTS WERE ALL UPDATED AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. *TR
INSTRUMENT FRONT PANEL NO LONGER OPERATES. ALL GAUGES DO NOT OPERATE (SPEEDOMETER, OIL, GAS. TEMP...). *TR
I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A GAS ODOR COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY SUV, AND WHEN I CHECKED I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A GAS LEAK IN THE GAS LINE THAT GOES FROM THE GAS FILTER TO THE ENGINE, AND I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT TWO OF THOSE LINES WERE STUCK TO EACH OTHER. THE ONE THAT HAD THE LEAK WAS TOUCHING THE CHASSIS, SO THAT WHEN IT VIBRATED IT COLLIDED CONSTANTLY WITH IT. THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE LEAK. *TR
WE OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHICH KEEPS GOING INTO REDUCE POWER MODE, I PULLED THE CODES AT VARIOUS TIME AND DIFFERENT PARTS, I REPLACED THE CRANK, CAM, AND ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSORS. I ALSO REPLACED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, FAN CLUTCH, STARTER, ALTERNATOR, SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS TO AVAIL. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND REFUSE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET THIS ISSUE ADDRESS, LAWSUIT AND OR DEATH. ASHAMED ON YOU GM. THIS ISSUE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *TR

THIS IS JUST THE MOST RECENT OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THE 2003 TRAILBLAZER LT. SINCE THE VEHICLE REACHED ABOUT 47000 MILES I HAVE HAD REPETITIVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM: AC WENT OUT, RADIO WENT OUT, REPLACE ALTERNATORS THREE TIMES BATTERIES 4, REFUSAL TO START, SOME POWER VAMPIRE SUCKING OUT THE POWER, AND NOW I AM DRIVING ALONG AND THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPS WORKING. I GET TO THE GROCERY STORE AND SHOP THEN COME OUT AND IT IS WORKING AGAIN. THEN THE NEXT DAY, NONE OF THE GAUGES ARE WORKING FROM THE TIME I STARTED IT. I CALLED CHEVY AT 1-800-222-1020 AND WAS INFORMED THERE IS NO RECALL, BUT I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ACCORDING TO ON-LINE COMPLAINTS. [XXX], AT CHEVROLET SAID THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL IT IS SEEN BY A DEALER. I HAVE EVALUATION APPOINTMENT SET FOR 3/4/2013. BOUGHT USED FROM A DEALER. HAD FOR 2 DAYS WHEN HAD FIRST PROB THAT WAS FIXED GOT BACK AFTER A WEEK. RAN GREAT. DROVE FOR 1 DAY AND RAN GOOD, STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WENT TO PULL ONTO MAIN HIGHWAY AND WOULDN'T MOVE FORWARD. BACKED UP FINE BUT NO FORWARD. I FINALLY GOT IT TO CRAWL FORWARD. AFTER A LIL WHILE IT KICKED BACK IN AND RAN FINE TIL I STOPPED AGAIN. FINALLY I MADE IT HOME AND PARKED IT. AFTER THEY FINALLY CAME AND TOWED IT AND "FIXED" IT I HAD IT AND DROVE IT FOR 1 DAY AND HAD SAME PROBLEM. AFTER IT SAT FOR A WHILE IT DID GO AGAIN. PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AND PARKED IT. STILL WAITING FOR IT TO BE TOWED AND "FIXED" AGAIN AND HOPEFULLY RIGHT THIS TIME. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND IT HAPPENS A LOT. SOUNDS LIKE IT MIGHT BE THE FAN CLUTCH OR SUN SHELL SPLINE. NOT SURE YET THOUGH. CALLED MECHANIC THAT DEALER HAD FIX IT AND THEY ONLY CHANGED A VALVE IN TRANNY THEY THOUGHT WAS BAD. SAID THEY HAVE ABOUT 3 MORE OF THEM TO CHECK BEFORE THEY REPLACE WHOLE TRANNY. I HOPE MORE PEOPLE RESEARCH THESE VEHICLES AND DON'T BUY THEM. *TR

MY TRUCK HOOD LATCH AND AREA SURROUNDING IS SO RUSTED GOING DOWN THE ROAD THE HOOD JUST BOUNCES LIKE ITS GOING TO COME LOOSE. I CALLED AN ASSORTMENT OF MECHANICS AND THEY SAY ITS A COMMON AND BIG PROBLEM WITH THE TRAILBLAZER! THEY DO NOT COME WITH A HOOD SEAL TO STOP THE ELEMENTS FROM ENTERING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THUS THE RUSTED HOOD FRONT AND LATCH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I DON'T THINK THE CONSUMER SHOULD PAY FOR NEW HOODS WHEN THE TRUCKS DONOT COME WITH THE PROPER PROTECTION! *TR

CAR IS A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THE IGNITION KEY IS STILL STUCK IN THE CAR. THERE WHERE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. BRAKES FAILED AFTER 7 MONTHS OF HAVING THE CAR , I HAD TO GO TO AN OUTSIDE COMPANY TO FIX CAR. ALSO WHEN HITTING BRAKE LIGHTS IT COMES ON AS HAZARD LIGHTS. CAR STARTED TO SHAKE WHEN TURNING ON A/C TOOK TO DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT SOMEONE ELSE THAT CAN FIX THE CAR. ALSO THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO START THE CAR AND TURN THE CAR OFF IS BY UNHOOKING THE BATTERY DUE TO KEY BEING STUCK IN THE IGNITION I WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO GET CAR FIXED OR REPLACE AND DEALERSHIP WAS BANKRUPT. THE VEHICLE WOULD REGAIN SPEED AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL STARTED TO MALFUNCTION BUT THEN RESET ITSELF. NOW, NONE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WORKS. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAD A VERY STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE SUV AND ALSO OUTSIDE AND WHEN I STOPPED ON ROAD FUEL WAS POURING OUT OF IT AND I GOT SO FRIGHTENED THAT IT WOULD CATCH FIRE. MY FUEL TANK GUAGE WENT FROM A FULL TANK TO LESS THAN A HALF TANK OF GAS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES AND THE SUV WAS SLUGGISH AND FELT WEIRD. I TOOK THE SUV IMMEDIATELY TO MY CAR REPAIR PLACE AND THEY DISMANTLED THE GAS TANK AND FOUND THE FUEL MODULE TO HAVE A HOLE IN IT AND IS CORRODED. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE IS A NHTSA ACTION NUMBER OF PE07013 ON IT AND I FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ONLINE AND I AM VERY UPSET AS THIS REPAIR IS GOING TO COST ME CLOSE TO A THOUSAND DOLLARS AND I AM A DISABLED AMERICAN VETERAN AND THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY IS VERY HARD FOR ME TO COME UP WITH. ALSO THE SUV WAS VERY UNSAFE AND IF I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT I AM SURE IT WOULD HAVE WENT UP IN FLAMES. SUMMARY: MULTIPLE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE MALFUNCTIONING. THE TACHOMETER IS READING 5,000 RPM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, AND 7,000 RPM WHEN GOING 15 MPH. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF THE GAUGE SITS AT 2,000. THE SPEEDOMETER IS CLICKING UP (NOT A SMOOTH TRANSITION TO THE CORRECT SPEED). AND IT SHOWING A LESSER SPEED THEN I AM GOING. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS IT IS GOING 10 MILES PER HOUR BUT WILL SLOWLY DROP DOWN TO ZERO. BOTH OF THESE MALFUNCTIONS COULD ARE A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO LEAK IN EVAC SYSTEM ACCORDING TO DIAGNOSTIC TEST. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED LEAK TO BE AT WELD WHERE FILL SPOUT TUBE IS ATTACHED TO FUEL TANK. STRONG GASOLINE FUMES WERE PRESENT COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT COST OF $1300.00. INTERNET RESEARCH REVEALED THAT GM HAD A TSB ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM (CAMPAIGN #05012), BUT IT ONLY APPLIED TO EXT MODELS. SINCE THIS IS, IN REALITY, A FIRE SAFETY ISSUE, I BELIEVE GM SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE ALL MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM REGARDLESS OF AGE OR MILEAGE. *TR

AUTOMATIC DRIVE SHIFT LINKAGE DISCONNECTED DUE TO FAILURE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A SMALL PLASTIC RIVET THAT HELD THE LINKAGE COMPONENTS TOGETHER. TRANSMISSION COULD NOT BE SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE, NOT EVEN TO NEUTRAL. COULD ONLY STOP CAR BY COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE BRAKES, TURNING OFF THE IGNITION KEY, AND THEN APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. CALLED DEALER AND THEN TOW TRUCK. WHEN THE TOWER ARRIVED, HE LOOKED AT THE MAKE/MODEL OF THE VEHICLE AND AS I DESCRIBED WHAT HAD HAPPENED HE SAID HE KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE HE HAD PICKED UP 6 OF THE SAME VEHICLE IN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN HE CHECKED, HE WAS CORRECT, THE LINKAGE HAD BECOME DISCONNECTED DUE TO A BROKEN PLASTIC RIVET. *TR

WHEN REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULB, I NOTICED THAT THE CONNECTION WAS MELTED. THROUGH MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM DUE TO THE GAUGE OF WIRE USED IN THE WIRING HARNESS. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL. SINCE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT COULD POSSIBLY OCCUR WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE, I WOULD HOPE THAT THIS COULD HELP INITIATE A RECALL.
