OUR 2005 TRAILBLAZER IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS EVERY COMPLAINT I HAVE READ ON THIS SITE. THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING AND THE SPEEDOMETER STICKS AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. I READ THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PETITION INVOLVING THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. I WILL BE GETTING MORE INVOLVED WITH THIS. I WILL BE ALSO CALLING. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE ON 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER SHOWED OVER HALF FULL WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE CHANGING LANES ON I-5. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION WITH NO POWER STEERING AND LIMITED POWER BRAKES IT WAS VERY INTERESTING GETTING THE RIG OVER TO THE SHOULDER. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY ON THE SHOULDER (AND I QUIT SHAKING) I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK, BELIEVING THERE WAS A MECHANICAL ISSUE. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED AND MENTIONED THAT HE HAS SEEN OTHER INCIDENTS WHERE 2005 TRAILBLAZERS FUEL GAUGE WOULD APPEAR TO HAVE FUEL WHILE IN FACT THE TANK WAS EMPTY. I OUR CASE WE ADDED FIVE GALLONS OF FUEL AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AND I WAS SAFELY ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY. *TR
MISLEADING INFORMATION ON THE SPEEDOMETER OF THE TRAILBLAZER. THE HAS STOPPED REGISTERING THE CORRECT SPEED DURING TRAVEL. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 20 MPH. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR DRIVERS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT SPEED THEY ARE CURRENTLY TRAVELING. WHILE TRAVELING AT 45 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 75 MPH.
FAULTY FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT. VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN MANY CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS AND GMC ENVOYS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND THE DEALER WANTS $600 TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVING HOME FROM OUT OF STATE AND FILLED UP THE TANK AND THE GAS GUAGE STILL READ EMPTY AND WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT IS NOT ACCURATE AND JUMPS AROUND. DURING THE DRIVE I WAS ON A ROAD GOING 50MPH AND SLOWED DOWN IN A TOWN TO 30MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER GOT STUCK AT 35MPH AND WOULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN. I HAD A 3 HOUR COMMUTE AND DID NOT KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING TO 80% OF IT. UPON RESEARCHING THESE ISSUES, IT APPEARS TO BE A FREQUENT ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE AND IS RATHER EXPENSIVE TO FIX, JUST TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN A YEAR LATER. THIS VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY A FAMILY MEMBER AND WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF.
OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GAS GUAGE STOPPED WORKING THEN I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM OUT OF STATE AND WENT FROM 50 MPH THEN INTO A TOWN WHICH WAS 30 MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER GOT STUCK AT 36 MPH AND WOULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN THE REST OF THE TRIP. I DID NOT KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING AND GOT PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING. THIS IS AN ISSUE. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES WITH THE 2005 TRAIL BLAZER SEEM TO BE HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE AMONG OTHER ISSUES WITHIN THE DASH. CHEVY REALLY NEEDS TO MAKE A RECALL BECAUSE AFTER PAYING $700 TO FIX THE GAS GUAGE, IT WENT OUT AGAIN LESS THAN A YEAR LATER. I WAS ALSO QUOTED OVER $500 TO FIX THE SPEEDOMETER. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE!? *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR VEHICLE WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SHE WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER OF OUR VEHICLE FAULTED. IT STARTED SHOWING SHE WAS GOING 110 THEN 20MPH THEN 50MPH AND SO ON AND SO ON. SHE PULLED OVER, PHONED ME AND WE CALLED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE IF TOWING COULD BE PROVIDED. IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN OVER 2HRS FOR TOWING ASSISTANCE SO SHE TRAVELED THE REST OF THE TRIP (APPROX 105MILES) FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN HOPES THAT THEY WERE TRAVELING AT A SAFE SPEED. THE FOLLOWING DAY I RESEARCH THIS ISSUE, BROUGTH MY VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY EXPLAINED IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A 05 TRAILBLAZER AND THE GM HAD A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART THEY STATE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THIS LITIGATION AND WE WERE STUCK PAYING THE BILL. NOT ONLY DOES GM KNOW THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, THEY ARE UNWILLING TO COMPENSATE OR TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY UPSET AND FRUSTRATED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THE FACT THE GM HAS NOT OFFERED ANY REMORSE. *TR
HVAC BLOWER STOPPED WORKING ON HI SPEED. VEHICLE INTERIOR LIGHTS DIMMED FOR ABOUT 1 SEC CORRESPONDING TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL VOLTMETER FALLING TO THE LOW END OF NORMAL. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS RETURNED TO NORMAL BRIGHTNESS AND THE VOLTMETER RETURNED TO ITS NORMAL POSITION WITH ENGINE RUNNING-A LITTLE ABOVE THE MIDDLE INDICATING CHARGING CONDITION. UPON INSPECTION THE BLOWER RESISTOR AND HARNESS MELTED TOGETHER. PIN G OF THE BLOWER RESISTOR MELTED THE PLASTIC AROUND IT. REPLACED THE BLOWER RESISTOR. NOTE: NO FUSES BLEW. OLD PART IS AVAILABLE. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD FAIL INTERMITTENTLY AND THE OIL GAUGE FAILED COMPLETELY AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE A READING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN OCT 2010. NOT LONG THEREAFTER, NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER WOULDN'T WORK ALL THE TIME - NORMALLY IT WORKS WHEN I FIRST START DRIVING BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WARMS UP, IT STOPS WORKING ALL TOGETHER. I THINK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. THE CRUISE CONTROL ALSO DOESN'T WORK ONCE IN A WHILE. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOES, BUT OCCASIONALLY I CAN'T GET IT TO GO ON AT ALL. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A NARROW AND BUSY COUNTRY ROAD (BECAUSE OF A DETOUR), MY FUEL INDICATOR, WHICH READ 3/4 FULL, IMMEDIATELY HIT EMPTY AND MY CAR STALLED OUT BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF GAS. ALTHOUGH UP UNTIL THAT SECOND THE FUEL INDICATOR READ 3/4 FULL, I WAS ACTUALLY OUT OF GAS. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED, HAD NO SHOULDER TO ESCAPE TO AND IF THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME HAD BEEN FOLLOWING ANY CLOSER THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERAL CAR PILE UP. AS IT STOOD, THIS INCIDENT PUT MANY IN DANGER AND IT WAS SIMPLY A MIRACLE THAT IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AFTER AAA BROUGHT ME GAS, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A GAS STATION AND EVEN THOUGH I FILLED THE TANK, THE INDICATOR STILL READ EMPTY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY'D HEARD OF THIS MANY TIMES BEFORE BUT WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME ALMOST $900.00 PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE ISSUE, AS IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. A FEW INTERNET SEARCHES LATER AND I FIND I'M ONE OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS ISSUE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE MY PORTION OF THE TAX DOLLARS I PAID INTO THE CAR MANUFACTURER BAIL-OUT TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS PART SO THEY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM, LIKE ANY RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURER SHOULD. IF IT'S TOYOTA HAVING A PROBLEM, WE ARE WORSE THEN A DOG WITH A BONE; IF IT'S AN AMERICAN MANUFACTURE, DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO DIE OVER THE ISSUE BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN? THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER READS EMPTY MOST OF THE TIME AND AT OTHER TIMES WHEN IT DOES REGISTER FUEL IT CAN'T BE TRUSTED. THE CLUSTER ON THIS VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD STICK AND COULD NOT TELL HOW FAST THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. THIS REPAIR COST ME OVER $600. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN. THE ONLINE BLOGS SHOW MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT CHEVY WONT RECOGNIZE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
SPEED-O-METER ERRATIC AND DOES NOT REGISTER PROPERLY. SOMETIMES DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. HAS RESULTED IN BEING STOPPED AND TICKETED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR SPEEDING. *TR
WE JUST PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 4WD, WE HAVE HAD IT FOR FOUR DAYS AND TODAY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING, IT HAS WOUND ALL THE WAY AROUND, WE PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IN THE ATTEMPT TO RESET IT. WE HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO TELL AT WHAT SPEED WE WERE DRIVING, WHICH IS HIGHLY UNSAFE. IN MY BELIEF THIS IS MISLEADING INFORMATION, BY NOT KNOWING HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER..THE SPEEDOMETER HAS WENT OUT ON MY TRUCK..IT IS READING 80 MPH SOMETIMES AND WHEN I TAKE OFF IT GOES WAY OVER 120 MPH.. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I HAVE READY SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL TRUCK. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK FOR 5 YEARS AND I BOUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS NEW AND I'VE PUT SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO THIS TRUCK THIS PAST 10 MONTHS AND NOW ITS GOING TO COST ME ANOTHER $500 DOLLARS TO GET THIS FIX. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE FROM GM. I'M GOING TO COMPLAIN TO THE BBB. MY LATE HUSBAND WAS A GM EMPLOYEE AND HE WORKED FOR THEM FOR 15 YEARS AND WAS KILLED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT LAST MARCH AND GM HAS JACKED ME AROUND SINCE THEN AND NOW I HAVE THIS ISSUE. I'M NOT GOING TO BUY ANOTHER GM VEHICLE THE NEXT TIME. PLEASE FIX THIS VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE. I'M A SINGLE PARENT ON SSI NOW AND CANT AFFORD THIS AND ITS A SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS TRUCK. IT NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ISSUE. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER NO LONGER WORKS ON MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER. IT HAS 61K MILES ON IT. CHEVROLET HAS RECALLED THE AVALANCHE, SILVERADO, TAHOE, AND SUBURBAN, BUT FOR SOME REASON NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. THE DEALER CHARGES $600 TO FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER JUST WENT HAYWIRE. READINGS ALL OVER THE PLACE REGARDLESS OF ACTUAL SPEED. SAME AS MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED FOR THIS VEHICLE. *LN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MALFUNCTIONED AND NO LONGER DISPLAY THE CORRECT INFORMATION. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER BUT NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
SPEEDOMETER NOT READING PRPER SPEED. STAYS AT O SOMETIMES, AND THEN YOU COULD BE GOING 25, AND IT READS 75. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE LIFT GATE REVEL MOLDING WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING, POWER TRANSMISSION AND THE REAR DECK MOLDING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 166,324. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON 2005 TRAILBLAZER IS MISLEADING. YOU CAN BE DOING 70MPH AND IT WILL ONLY REGISTER 50 MPH. SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE DOING 20 MPH AND IT WILL REGISTER 120 MPH. BUT 80% OF THE TIME THE SPEEDOMETER IS CORRECT (I THINK). THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY TO NEW DRIVERS (MY DAUGHTER WHO JUST TURNED 16). GM IS PROVIDING MISLEADING INFORMATION TO THE DRIVER AND YOU HAVE NO INDICATION THAT IT IS INCORRECT. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED 1 1/2 YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF FAULTY INSTRUMENT AND SPEEDOMETER READINGS. JANUARY OF 2011 GAS GAUGE MALFUNCTIONING READS EMPTY WHEN TANK HAS BEEN FILLED, AND CONTINUES TO MISREAD LEVELS AT ALL TIMES. *TR
SPEEDOMETER GOES HAYWIRE, FIRST 150MPH THEN 40 THEN 60 , IT GOES ALL OVER THE PLACE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE CHECKED INTO IT AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. THIS IS MY WIFE DAILY DRIVER AND SHE TRANSPORTS MY KIDS IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR

FAULTY FUEL GAUGE. *TR
MY GAS GAUGE FAILED AND CAUSED AN INACCURACY IN THE AMOUNT OF GAS IN MY VEHICLE. IT NOW REMAINS WITH THE LIGHT ON AND AT EMPTY. I HAVE BEEN CLEARING THE MILES AT EACH FILL UP TO MONITOR APPROXIMATELY 300 MILES PER TANK. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS DUE TO THE NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD!
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND GM'S ONLY REMEDY IS TO SCREW OVER CONSUMERS BY MAKING THEM PAY FOR A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART OUT OF POCKET. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED AT GM'S EXPENSE, OR THEY SHOULD AT LEAST OFFER A DISCOUNT. THEIR $800.00 ESTIMATE IS SILLY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON 2005 TRAILBLAZER IS MISLEADING. YOU CAN BE DOING 70MPH AND IT WILL ONLY REGISTER 50 MPH. SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE DOING 20 MPH AND IT WILL REGISTER 120 MPH. THIS JUST STARTED HAPPENING AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 56,361 MILES ON IT. *LN
AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM SHOPPING, MY WIFE AND HER FRIEND PULLED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY AND SHE PLACED OUR TRAILBLAZER IN PARK. THERE WAS A LOUD SOUND SHE SAID SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND THE REAR LIFT HATCH WINDOW SHATTERED SENDING GLASS FLYING. AT THE TIME OF THE GLASS SHATTERING THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS CLOSE TO 30 DEGREES. THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS NOT ON. I CAME HOME FROM WORK AND WE CLEANED ALL THE GLASS FROM THE DRIVEWAY AND THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. I CONTACTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE WINDOW WAS FIXED FOR A COST OF $754.70 BY SAFELITE GLASS REPAIR. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND DID A SEARCH OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS AND FOUND QUITE A FEW. I CONTACTED GM BY E-MAIL AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. GM THANKED ME FOR THE INFORMATION BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY REPLACEMENT OR REIMBURSEMENT. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED AND OUR GRANDDAUGHTER WAS NOT IN HER CAR SEAT AT THE TIME. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF MY WIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN OPENING THE LIFT GATE WHEN THE GLASS SHATTERED. GM SAID THIS APPEARED TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND I OFFERED TO SEND THEM LINKS TO OTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS THAT I FOUND. I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THIS FAILURE. THE GLASS WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING AND THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL GAUGE NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM I UNDERSTAND AMONG 05 TRAILBLAZERS AND PREVIOUS YEARS. IT IS GOING TO COST A LOT OF MONEY TO REPAIR AND GM/CHEVY REFUSES TO WARRANTY OR RECALL THE PROBLEM. I THINK IT IS A SHAME GM/CHEVY IS ALLOWED TO GET A AWAY WITH MAKING THE OWNERS PAY VERY HIGH REPAIR BILLS WHEN THE COMPANY KNOWS IT'S A SAFETY PROBLEM. PLEASE INTERCEDE AND MAKE GM/CHEVY ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT INDICATE THE CORRECT SPEED. OTHER COMPONENTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WERE ALSO NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.
2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER...A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, WHILE MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS TRUCK THE SPEEDOMETER GOT STUCK ON 10MPH AND SHE COULD NOT TELL HOW FAST SHE WAS REALLY DRIVING. WE WERE ON A BACK COUNTRY ROAD (THANK GOD) NOT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC BUT I KNOW SHE HAD TO BE GOING AT LEAST 45MPH. SHE HAS JUST GOTTEN HER LEARNER'S PERMIT A FEW WEEKS EARLIER AND DID NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE DRIVING SO THIS REALLY FREAKED HER OUT. NOW THE SPEEDOMETER WILL WORK WHEN YOU FIRST START THE TRUCK BUT IF YOU COME TO A STOP IT WILL STICK AGAIN AND AT TIMES IT WILL READ HIGHER THAN WHAT I AM ACTUALLY TRAVELING. LIKE THIS MORNING, UPON STARTING THE TRUCK BEFORE IT WAS EVER PUT INTO DRIVE THE SPEEDOMETER READ 10MPH. THIS COULD BE A VERY HAZARDOUS DEFECT AND GM SHOULD RECALL THIS PROBLEM AND FIX IT. IN RESEARCHING, I SEE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SPEEDOMETERS IN THESE TRUCKS, YET GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. IT IS COSTING CONSUMERS APPROX. $500-$750 TO REPAIR. I HAVE GOTTEN AN ESTIMATE OF $600 MYSELF BUT HAVE NOT HAD THE REPAIRS COMPLETED YET. NO MONEY TO DO SO AND HOPING MY WARRANTY WILL COVER IT. *TR
I JUST PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FOR MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER AND SAFETY WAS THE REASON FOR AN SUV. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO HER, THE WINDOW WOULD NO LONGER MOVE UP. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE OIL LEVEL INDICATOR IN THE DASH PANEL IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. A CALL TO THE DEALER WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED CONFIRMS THAT THIS IS PART OF AN "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER" THAT ALSO CONTROLS THE SPEEDOMETER, AND THAT IT WILL PROBABLY MALFUNCTION AS WELL.
I HAVE HAD THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT LS: 2008: FUEL SENSOR FAILURE, RUNNING BOARD FELL OFF 2009: HEAD AND TAIL LIGHTS GOING OUT FREQUENTLY, WINDOWS WOULD GET STUCK- COULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN- ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHING, CAR STALLING OUT- NEEDED CIRCUIT BOARD REPLACED. ANTI-THEFT NON-FUNCTIONING. 2010:WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF(REPLACED DISPLAY BOARD), IDLE PULLEY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED , 4X4 RUNNING ROUGH AND MAKING A SOUND,SPEEDOMETER NON-FUNCTIONING, RADIO STOPPED WORKING,GLOVE BOX LOCK BROKE, HEAT/AC STOPPED WORKING FIRST ON BLOWERS 4& 5 THEN STOPPED COMPLETELY I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD TO FIX ALL THESE REPAIRS, AS IT EXCEEDS $2,000. CAR IS OVER WARRANTY AND WAS BROUGHT USED FROM A FORMER GM DEALER AT UNDER 50K. I CONTACTED GM IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND THEY STATED THAT THEY MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST ME. GM INITIATED CONTACT IN DECEMBER OF 2010 AND TOLD ME TO GET A FULL DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEMS AND STATED THAT IT WAS OK TO GO TO THE FORMER GM DEALER. I PAID OVER $100 FOR THIS DIAGNOSIS AND THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY CANNOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER. *TR

2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER...POWER TO INSTRUMENT PANEL INCLUDING RADIO CUTS IN AND OUT LEAVING A VARIETY OF WARNING LIGHTS LIT AND LOW FUEL WARNING AUDIO SIGNAL GOING OFF. RESETS WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED OFF, BUT HAPPENS AGAIN WHEN CAR IS STARTED AND HAPPENS IN IRREGULAR INTERVALS FOR THE ENTIRE TIME THE CAR IS RUNNING. THE DOOR LOCKS (INCLUDING HATCHBACK) DO NOT ALWAYS UNLOCK WHEN CAR IS STOPPED, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS AND RADIO SOMETIMES STAY ON. ALL GAUGES (GAS, OIL, TEMPERATURE, ETC) GO TO ZERO. AFTER TALKING TO A MECHANIC FRIEND, WE TOOK THE DASHBOARD APART, PULLED OUT THE CLUSTER AND PUT IT BACK IN. THAT APPEARS TO HAVE STOPPED THE PROBLEM FOR NOW, BUT WE HAVE NOT USED THE VEHICLE MUCH SINCE DOING THE REPAIR. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD IT COULD REQUIRE A NEW CLUSTER COSTING IN THE $400 RANGE NOT INCLUDING LABOR. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER FAULTY FUEL GAUGE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND LATER MY GAS GAUGE ON MY CAR STARTED ACTING STRANGE. 2005 TRAILBLAZER GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES WILDLY. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MONITOR THE TANK BY TRACKING MILEAGE. MY WIFE USED THE CAR AND INADVERTENTLY SUBTRACTED THE MILES INCORRECTLY AND RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE FAST LANE OF THE 405 FREEWAY !! A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. NO ONE WAS HURT, JUST A LOT OF STRESS AND A RESCUE MISSION. THE GAUGE NOW STAYS ON, OR JUST ABOVE EMPTY. CHEVY DEALER WANTS 800.00 FOR REPAIR AND SAYS IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. MY ON-LINE RESEARCH SHOWS THOUSANDS OF THIS CAR HAVE THE IDENTICAL SYMPTOM. MOST DEFINITELY THEIR PROBLEM !! IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN. I WAS PULLED OVER ON THE I 15 FOR DOING 88 WHEN MY SPEEDOMETER READ 70. (I'M 58 AND HAVE NEVER HAD A TICKET) ON PULLING OVER THE SPEEDOMETER CAME TO REST AT 25 MPH. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON THE INTERNET AND GM HAS TOLD THOSE PEOPLE THAT THE BLACK BOX SAID THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ANTICIPATED A ROLLOVER AND THEY HAVE NOT PAID TO HAVE THE DAMAGE FIXED. I REQUESTS THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES. I ALLEGE THAT THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.
