I HAVE A 2005 TRAILBLAZER. THE DIM LIGHTS JUST GO OFF, THEY MAY STAY OFF ANYWHERE FROM 5-20 MINUTES.WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT AND HAD A TECHNICIAN DRIVE IT IN AN ATTEMPT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE CHANGED ALL OF THE RELAYS AND FUSES AND REPLACED THE BULBS. I AM SCARED TO BE OUT AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF IT AS I AM NOT ALWAYS IN A PLACE WHERE I CAN PULL OVER TO WAIT FOR THEM TO COME BACK ON, YET UNFORTUNATELY,I WORK EVENING SHIFT, THEREFORE IT IS A REQUIREMENT. THIS IS NOT SAFE AND I ASKED IF THINGS SUCH AS THIS ARE ROUTINELY REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. I WAS GIVEN A VERY EVASIVE ANSWER. THE BRIGHTS STILL WORK, HOWEVER THAT IS NOT SAFE FOR OTHER DRIVERS.I HAVE FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE REGARDING THE TRAILBLAZER ON THE INTERNET. ONE WOULD THINK GM WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, OR WILL THEY AGAIN WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED? *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH 46,000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION, IDLER PULLEY, AND WATER PUMP ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING. THE GAUGE DISPLAYED EMPTY WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL AND FULL WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED DUE TO THE SENSOR IN THE TANK INDICATING THAT THE GAUGE WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RISK SINCE THE VEHICLE COULD BE OUT OF FUEL BUT INDICATE THAT IT WAS FULL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I FILLED MY TANK UP AND THE FUEL LIGHT STAYED, THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN MY TRUCK ,FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER CORRECT FUEL LEVEL.THIS IS A 2005 VEHICLE I HAVE ALREADY SPENT MONEY ON THE 02 FUEL SENSOR, I HAVE ALSO REQUATED GM TO CHECK MY LIGHT FOR MY 2,4 AND ALL WHEEL DRIVE THAT BLINKS WHILE DRIVING AND SWITCHES, I WAS TOLD THEIR WAS NOTHING WRONG BUT IT STILL OCCURS,AFTER 3 YEARS NOW MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE MAINTENANCE LIGHT COMES ON. BEING A SINGLE LADY AS WELL AS A SINGLE MOTHER IT IS HARD TO TRUST MECHANICS AS THEY ALWAYS TRY TO GET OVER AND I DON'T HAVE THE FINANCES TO KEEP MAJOR WORK DONE ON SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR QUIT WORKING . GAS GAUGE LIGHT ALWAYS ON AND SHOWING EMPTY AND ALWAYS BEEPING. NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE. DOES THE SAME THING WHEN TANK IS FULL. I SPEND ALOT OF MONEY IN FUEL BECAUSE IT'S AGGRAVATING TO KEEP TRACK OF MILEAGE CONSTANTLY. THE RPM GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ONCE IN A WHILE THE SPEEDOMETER IS ALSO OFF. *TR
2005 TB HAS CONSISTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. FUEL SENSOR HAS FAILED AND BEEN REPLACED, NUMEROUS BULBS FAILED AND REPLACED, NOW ODOMETER/TRIP COMPUTER HAS FAILED. LIGHTS CONSISTENTLY DIM/BRIGHTEN. VEHICLE WILL IDLE LOW AND STALL ON OCCASION. *TR
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN MY 05 TRAILBLAZER. NOW I'M PRETTY SURE THE ALTERNATOR NEEDS REPLACED. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN TO THE SHOP ONCE FOR ELECTRICAL RELATED PROBLEMS AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 77,000 MILE ON IT. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT... MY FUEL TANK LIGHT CAME ON AND NEVER WENT OFF I WOULD FILL MY TANK UP AND IT WOULD NEVER GO OFF. I ENDED UP HAVING TO TAKE THIS IN AND PAID 1000.00 FOR A NEW FUEL TANK... I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND THIS IS A VERY EXTREMELY COMMON THING ON CHEVY TRAILBLAZER'S... IT WAS RIGHT ABOUT 75,000 MILES THAT THIS HAPPENED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT 370. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE REAR SPOILER BRAKE LIGHT COVER DETACHED ONTO THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE REAR SPOILER BRAKE LIGHT COVER WAS REPLACED TWO TIMES. THE THIRD RECURRENCE, THE BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
1. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON CONSISTENTLY NO MATTER WHAT REPAIRS I HAVE DONE. 2. SPEEDOMETER FAILS TO CONSTANTLY. I RECENTLY GOT A SPEEDING TICKET FOR NOT STAYING WITHIN SPEED LIMIT. 3. DEALERSHIP HAS CONSTANTLY SAID THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY COMPLAINTS BY ANY CONSUMERS. 4. ONSTAR SYSTEM HAS FAILED FROM A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. 5. OCCASIONALLY STALLS AND SMELLS OF GASOLINE. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED STICKING PERIODICALLY AT FIRST. THEN WOULD READ AT LEAST 40 MILES PER HOUR OVER, THEN NOW IT IS JUST STUCK. THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO CORRECT THE ISSUE SHORT OF REPLACING THE DASH. *TR
FUEL JUST STOPPED WORKING, DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEADLIGHTS START DIMMING GAUGES GO ALL OVER THE BOARD. PUT A NEW BATTERY IN, CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR AND IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON FOR OXYGEN SENSOR HAD THAT REPLACED 1 YEAR AGO NEEDS REPLACED AGAIN. *TR
BOUGHT 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN MARCH 2008. ABOUT A MONTH AGO THE SPEEDOMETER ACTING UP. I WOULD BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD JUST STARTING DECLINING. ONCE I STOPPED AN PUT INTO TO PARK IT WOULD RESET ITSELF. THIS HAPPENED 3-4 TIMES AND THEN TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL I WAS GOING MAYBE 30MPH, JUST PULLED OUT OF DRIVE WAY AND IT SAID I WAS GOING 110 MPH. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE AND TO FIX THE PROBLEM YOU ARE LOOKING AT $400-$600. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. *TR
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FALSE READINGS WITH MY FUEL GAUGE. LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I FILL UP MY TANK AND THE GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY, BUT AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES IT WOULD READ FULL. NOW IT READS FULL FOR 20 MINUTES AND THEN STARTS TO GO DOWN. I WAS TOLD THAT IS WAS A POSSIBLE SHORT IN THE WIRING AROUND THE FUEL PUMP. GREAT, A GOOD WAY TO START A FIRE!!.. GAS GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK ON A 2005 TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER STICKS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS *BELOW* ZERO WHEN I'M MOVING. LAST NIGHT, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 65-70MPH, I ASSUME, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STUCK AT 30. WHEN DECELERATING, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL STICK AT CERTAIN SPEEDS, AND THEN JERK DOWN SUDDENLY. MY TRAILBLAZER ONLY HAS ABOUT 53,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SEEN REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE BEGINNING AT 30K, BUT MOST KICK IN AT AROUND 50K. I AM CALLING THE SHOP TODAY. FROM WHAT I'VE READ, IT'S RELATED TO A FAULTY STEPPER MOTOR. IF I AM ABLE TO UPDATE THIS REPORT, I WILL. HOWEVER, I THINK THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND AM NOT GOING TO WAIT TO REPORT IT UNTIL AFTER THE REPAIR; I'VE SEEN AT LEAST 40 (I STOPPED COUNTING) OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT A MALFUNCTIONING SPEEDOMETER IN 05 TRAILBLAZERS ON ABOUTAUTOMOBILE.COM (I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH DIMMING LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS FLASHING AT NIGHT). *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING IN MY VEHICLE AND BY THE TIME THE RECALL OCCURRED IN 2013, MY VEHICLE HAS MORE THAN THE LIMITED MILEAGE OF 120,000 OR LESS TO PAY FOR HALF THE REPAIR COST. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO WORK AT ALL BACK IN 2009 AS WELL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THE SPEEDOMETER WORK FOR A WHILE AND THEN IT SAYS I AM GOING 110 MPH. I KNOW I CAN'T BE GOING THAT FAST WHEN I AM CREEPING DOWN THE ROAD. I ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER WITH THE SAME VEHICLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT COST OVER 500.00 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE NEED THIS ISSUE TO BE SOLVED AND THINK IT IS ONLY FAIR THAT CHEVY HAS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO MYSELF AND OTHER DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *TR
SPEEDOMETER IS VERY IRREGULAR, SOMETIMES 40 -80 MILES OVER THE SPEED YOU ARE GOING, SOMETIMES STUCK AT 0 AND AT OTHER TIMES WORKS FINE. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU DON'T' KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *TR
SPEEDOMETER NO LONGER REGISTERS CORRECT SPEED. GAUGE READS 110 MPH WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING MOTIONLESS IN DRIVE WAY. WHILE DRIVING SPEEDOMETER SWINGS WILDLY. WHILE TRAVELING USING GPS UNIT TO GIVE SPEED VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER WAS CONSISTENTLY OFF BY MORE THAN 50 MPH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AND THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED. THE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE IS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

I OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH 47,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER READ 120MPH. MY FIRST INSTINCT WAS TO HIT THE BRAKES WHICH I DID AND THE CAR ALMOST SPUN OUT OF CONTROL. I FINALLY REALIZED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS BROKEN. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR A DANGEROUS PROBLEM SUCH AS THIS. *TR
2005 TRAILBLAZER: 1) SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ WRONG SPEED WHILE DRIVING, NEEDLE WOULD MAX OR ZERO OUT WHILE DRIVING, AND NOW IS COMPLETELY NOT WORKING; CAN NOT DETERMINE CORRECT SPEED WHICH COULD LEAD TO TICKET OR ACCIDENT. 2) WIPERS STAY ON WITH SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION, MUST PULL FUSE TO STOP THEM; WIPERS ARE DISTRACTION GOING ACROSS DRY WINDOW OR MUST STOP TO PUT FUSE IN IF WEATHER REQUIRES. CURRENTLY VEHICLE IS IN SHOP FOR REPAIR. FIRST REPLACEMENT PART FOR WIPERS DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. THROUGH VIEWING OTHER INTERNET COMMENTS THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE AN UNEXPECTED DRIVER IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DO TO THESE ISSUES. *TR

AT 58348 MILES, THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED, WOULD NOT READ ZERO MILES AT DEAD STOP, WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD REGISTER INACCURATELY, VERY DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE ROAD SPEED, AND DRIVE SAFELY. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AT COST OF $362.25. THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM, AS ONE CANNOT DETERMINE THE PROPER SPEED WHILE DRIVING, IT HAS OCCURRED IN MANY OTHER CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS ALSO. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER WOULD STICK AT A CERTAIN MPH AND SHOW MY SPEED AS MUCH FASTER THAN I WAS REALLY GOING. EACH TIME YOU WOULD SHUT OF THE CAR, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD DROP 5 MPH LESS UNTIL IT REACHED 0. THEN IT WOULD START ALL OVER AGAIN AT 25 MPH. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND FINALLY MY SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. *TR

I WILL BE DRIVING AT A RATE OF 60 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPS TO 95+ MPH AND WHEN I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR THE SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT GO BACK TO ZERO AND WILL SIT ON 20 OR 30 MPH INSTEAD OF ZERO. MASSIVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH CHEVY TRAILBLAZER 1. WHILE GOING 10 MILES AN HOUR, THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPS TO 120MPH THEN TO 50MPH THEN TO 120MPH AGAIN. 2. WHEN I FILL UP WITH GAS, THE GAS GAUGE STATES THAT THE TANK IS STILL EMPTY THEN MOVES TO FULL THEN TO A 1/4 THEN TO FULL THEN TO HALF ETC... 3. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, MY HEADLIGHTS GO HIGHBEAM TO LOW BEAM AS IF I AM MANUALLY FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT OTHER CARS. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET WHERE THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME MODEL OF CHEVROLET SUV AND THAT GM REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. -I CALLED GM AND ADVISED THEM OF THE ENTIRE ISSUE. THEY ADVISED ME TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC AS THIS WAS NEEDED BEFORE THEY COULD HELP ME. -I WENT TO THE DEALER AND PAID $115 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC, NEEDLESS TO SAY THE REPAIRS THAT THE DEALER FOUND RANGER OVER $3000.00 DOLLARS. -I THEN CALLED GM BACK AND THEY TOOK THE INFORMATION THAT THE DEALER GAVE ME (DONNA AT 1-866-790-5700 X21153) -I JUST GOT A CALL BACK FROM GM STATING THAT BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE SUV THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING (THEY KNEW ABOUT THE MILEAGE BEFORE THEY SENT ME TO THE DEALERSHIP!). SO I WASTED $115 DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT NEEDED BY GM, AND THE FACT THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE MILEAGE TO START OFF WITH IS A WAY TO LET THE DEALER MAKE SOME MONEY OFF THE CONSUMER. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS THE PASSENGER IN A VEHICLE TRAVELING 35 MPH ON ICY ROAD CONDITIONS. ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF THEM AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. HER NECK WAS SNAPPED BACKWARDS. THE SEAT BELT PROPERLY RESTRAINED HER AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE OTHER DRIVER RECEIVED A CITATION. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND NOT ON THE THROTTLE THE HEADLIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF IN MY 05 TRAILBLAZER. IT DOES IT EVERY NIGHT AS I DRIVE HOME AND CAUSES PEOPLE AROUND ME TO DRIVE ERRATICALLY. THE TRUCK ALSO SUDDENLY REVS WHILE COMING TO A STOP. TWICE IT HAS CAUSED ME TO TAP THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME WHILE MY HEADLIGHTS ARE FLASHING SO IT BADLY SCARES PEOPLE AROUND ME. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CAN FIND NO FAULT IN THE TRUCK BUT THE PROBLEMS ARE BECOMING SO BAD THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE TRUCK AND THAT IS A VERY BAD PLACE TO BE STUCK IN. I HAVE READ THAT MORE THEN A FEW PEOPLE HAVE THESE ISSUES AND THAT THERE IS NO FIX ACCORDING TO GM- SO I FELT THAT I HAD BETTER REPORT THIS HERE AS WELL. *TR
WE OWN A 2005 TRAIL BLAZER.........WE WAS DRIVING THREW OUR HOME TOWN ON DAY AND THIS IS A 20 MPH ZONE. MY HUSBAND LOOKED DOWN AND WE WAS GOING 120MPH!!! I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH, WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 80 MPH AND ABOVE. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS ON 120 MPH AND NOW IT WONT GO BACK DOWN, IT JUST STAYS ON 80 MPH UNTIL I DRIVE IT, THEN IT JUMPS BACK UP AGAIN. *TR
MY GAS GAUGE NO LONGER WORKS PROPERLY. IT READS EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS ABOUT 50K MILES. *TR

SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 46,000.
2005 TRAILBLAZER SPEEDO STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. SPEED WILL SHOW 40-50 MPH WHEN STOPPED OR NEVER GO ABOVE 35 MPH DURING HWY DRIVING. *TR

AS A RESULT, THE FUEL GATE UNIT MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR THE FAILURE AT $350, WHICH IS HALF OF THE PRICE THEY ARE CHARGING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50,000.
