TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ROLLING DOWN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW, SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY IMPROPER READINGS AFTER REFUELING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 93,600.
FUEL SENSOR DOES NOT WORK. CHEVY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUED A DEAL TO PAY FOR HALF THE COST ONLY IF THE CAR HAS UNDER 120,000 MILES OR IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD. WE ARE OVER THE MILEAGE LIMIT, BUT THIS PROBLEM CAUSED OUR CAR TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON A CURVY, MOUNTAIN ROAD WITH LARGE COAL TRUCKS SPEEDING BY. WE RAN OUT IN A PLACE WHERE WE COULD NOT PULL FAR ENOUGH OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WERE ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL PASSING VEHICLES. WE COULDN'T START THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO DRIFT IT BACKWARDS DOWNHILL TO A SAFER PLACE. VERY DANGEROUS!!! *KB
IN SUMMER OF 2011 I HAD THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF THE FUEL GAUGE INCORRECTLY SHOWING THE FUEL LEVEL. THIS WENT ON FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL FOR A FEW MONTHS. AS OF JANUARY OF THIS YEAR, I HAVE THE ISSUE AGAIN , ONLY THIS TIME THE FUEL GAUGE IS DOWN COMPLETELY AND SHOWING EMPTY 90% OF THE TIME. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OFFER 50% DISCOUNT ON REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND OBVIOUSLY AFFECTING A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF OWNERS OF THIS MODEL OF CHEVROLET. *TR
FUEL GAUGE SHOWS RANDOM INDICATION OF FUEL LEVEL. AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK TO FULL, THE FUEL GAUGE FALLS TO EMPTY AND TRIGGERS THE FUEL LIGHT AND DINGS. LATER ON IT WILL SHOW A RANDOM INDICATION OF FUEL LEVEL. *TR
1.FUEL GAUGE ON OUR 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS SPORT WITH 6 CYL. ENGINE BECAME ERRATIC GOING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT RELATION OF HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN THE GAS TANK. THIS STARTED WHEN VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS BELOW 40,000 MILES. 2. NOW THE FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY, AND WE HAVE TO GO BY TRIP MILEAGE TO DETERMINE WHEN TO FUEL UP. ONCE JUNE 18, 2011) WHEN WE HADN'T FILLED THE TANK FULLY, THE DISTANCE ON IT WAS MISJUDGED AND RAN OUT OF FUEL ON A MAIN THOROUGHFARE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY AN ACCIDENT DIDN'T HAPPEN. 3. WE HAD CHECKED THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND IT WASN'T RARE, BUT QUITE PREVALENT ON OUR VEHICLE AND SIMILAR ONES, DUE TO DEFECTIVE FUEL SENDING UNITS HAVING CONTACTS CORRODE. WE PUT IN A BOTTLE OF GM FUEL TREATMENT, WITH NO CHANGE. THE EXPENSE TO REPLACE THE COMBINED SENSOR/FUEL PUMP UNIT THAT IS LOCATED IN THE GAS TANK ISN'T WORTH SPENDING AS THE REPLACEMENT PART IS IDENTICAL TO THE ORIGINAL AND THE PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. IF THE FUEL RUNS OUT IN AN INTERSECTION OR RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC A CRASH COULD RESULT THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.. *KB
THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF FIRST TIME AT A RED LIGHT IT TURNED GREEN I WAS THE ONLY CAR AT THE LIGHT WHEN I HIT THE GAS IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME LOOK NO ONE BEHIND ME THEN THE REAR BRAKES WERE LOCKED UP I DROVE IT 1/4 OF A MILE AND THEY UNLOCKED THEM SELVES I DROVE TO MY DEALER TOLD THEM HE LOOKED IT UP SAID THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THAT TOOK MY BLAZER IN FOR A OIL CHANGE AN I SUPPOSED LOOKED AT THE BRAKES THEN ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING AND IT FELT LIKE SOME ONE REAR ENDED ME AGAIN BUT NO ONE THERE BEHIND ME..THEN ABOUT A MONTH AGO IN JULY THE SAME THING AT A RED LITE AND I HAD 3 SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE BLAZER WHEN THEY ALL THOUGHT SOME ONE RAN INTO THE REAR OF ME BUT NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME THE REAR BRAKES ONLY STAYED LOCKED UP MAYBE 300 YARDS AND THEN RELEASED ..THEN TODAY AT A STOP SIGN 8-16-2012 SAME THING THEN ALL KIND OF NOISE GOING TO THE DOCTORS OFFICE ABOUT 1/4 OF A MILE AWAY GOT INTO THE PARKING LOT AN THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OUT AT THE FRONT OF THE TRANS HERE BOTH BARS TRAILING ARMS AT THE REAR AXLE BROKE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP(GREENWOOD) IN AUSTINTOWN OHIO I HAVE 43000 MILES ON IT AND BOUGHT IT NEW AT GREENWOOD CHEVROLET. *TR
2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT , STARTED GIVING FALSE AMOUNTS AND NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. *TR
WHEN I DID A ROUTINE FILL UP ON MY VEHICLE AND UPON RESTARTING THE CAR AFTER COMPLETION, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STILL SHOWED LOW FUEL. AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE HOME, I NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 20 MILES OR SO, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED CORRECTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. HOWEVER, UPON THE NEXT FILL UP, IT DID THE SAME THING. NOW, IT IS AT THE POINT THAT IT DOESN'T REGISTER THE GAS IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL. ONE MINUTE IT SHOWS EMPTY, THE NEXT IT SHOWS CORRECTLY, AND THEN IT SLOWLY GOES BACK TO EMPTY. I HAVE TO USE THE TRIP GAUGE TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY. LATELY, OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS, THE CAR IS STARTING TO HESITATE AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL ON ME UPON TAKE OFF. I AM GETTING WORRIED THAT THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO STALL ON ME AS I AM DRIVING AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
THE FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER HAS BEEN ACTING ERRATICALLY. WITHIN A FEW MILES OF FILLING UP THE GAS TANK THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. SOMETIMES IT WILL START WORKING AGAIN AND SOMETIMES IT WONT. THE SERVICE STATION SCANNED THE CHECK ENGINE CODES AND IT SHOWED A BAD FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. *TT
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR STOPPED WORKING, THUS LEAVING NO WAY TO TELL HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN MY VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A VEHICLE AFTER ONLY 60,000 MILES. I CONSIDER IT A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD, AND AM FEARFUL THAT IT COULD LEAD TO A STALL ON A BUSY FREEWAY. TO AVOID THAT SITUATION, AND THE UNECCESSARY ADDED STRESS, I AM CONSTANTLY MAKING STOPS AT A GAS STATION. *TT
THREE WEEKS AGO, AFTER OUR 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT WAS FILLED UP, THE GAS GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY AND THEN WENT BACK AND FORTH BEFORE FINALLY GOING TOWARDS FULL. HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT SURE IF IT IS ACCURATE AT ANY POINT. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME WE FILL THE TANK UP IN THE TRUCK. WE HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED, BUT AN ESTIMATED COST HAS BEEN $800 TO FIX THE SENDING UNIT AND DROP THE TANK TO FIX. *TR
PULLING OUT ON THE ROAD BEFORE ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATED NORMAL. THE VEHICLE TRAVELED ABOUT 10 TO 20 YDS WHEN THE ENGINE RPM DRASTICALLY INCREASED LIKE THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL, BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN D. IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AND BEFORE I COULD LET MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR A VERY LOUD BANG OCCURRED IN THE DRIVELINE. I IMMEDIATELY LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND BEGAN PULLING OUT OF THE RIGHT LANE OF TRAFFIC ON TO THE SHOULDER OUT OF TRAFFIC. I ATTEMPTED TO INCREASE ACCELERATION WITH THE VEHICLE IN D AND THE RPM INCREASED AND NO FORWARD MOTION, SHIFTED TO 3 AND TRIED AGAIN (NOTHING), SHIFTED TO 2 AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND FORWARD MOTION WAS ESTABLISHED. TOOK VEHICLE TO GM DEALER AND RESULTS WERE A BROKEN SPRAG IN THE TRANSMISSION. GM REBUILT TRANSMISSION TO REPAIR. DISCUSSED WITH SERV MGR THE PROBLEM AND HE INDICATED THAT THEY SEE THESE SPRAGS BREAK QUITE OFTEN IN THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. DOING FURTHER RESEARCH AFTER THAT I DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OF THIS VEHICLE WITH DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS IN THE TRANSMISSION ALL THROUGHOUT THE VEH MILEAGE RANGE FROM 4, 5000, 10000, AND 34000 . VEHICLE SERVICE UP TO DATE BY MY DEALERSHIP AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. THE ENGINE IS A 6.0 LITER 395 HP, 400 FT\LB TORQUE. I ALSO NOTICED WHERE GM FIRST PRODUCED THIS VEHICLE WITH A LIGHTER DUTY TRANSMISSION 4L60-E, THEN UPGRADED TO A 4L70-E AND LARGER TORQUE CONVERTER TO WITHSTAND THE POWER DEVELOPED BY THE 6.0 LITER ENGINE. THEIR GM SERV. MGR INDICATED MY VEHICLE HAD THE 4L70-E TRANSMISSION WHEN I CALLED HIM TO DISCUSS. THERE IS STILL AN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR CIRCUMSTANCE WITH THE HEAVIER TRANSMISSION NOT HANDLING THE POWER DEVELOPED. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF QUICK ACCELERATION WAS NEEDED TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION OR AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY I WASN'T CROSSING TRAFFIC AND TURNING FROM THE PARKING LOT ONTO THE ROAD ABLE TO AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC AVOIDING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. TRAILBLAZER. *TR
FIRST - RELAY RESISTOR MODULE FOR MANUAL HEATING/HVAC. CERTAIN BLOWER SETTINGS DO NOT WORK IN 2006 TRAILBLAZER. THIS SAME PROBLEM IS A RECALL FOR 2004 CHEVY SILVERADOS. WILL THIS BE A RECALL FOR THE TRAILBLAZER AS WELL? SECOND - GAS GAUGE HAVE FAILED AND DOES NOT WORK. I KNOW OF 3 OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS? *KB

THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY THE FUEL TANK AS EMPTY AFTER REFUELING THE TANK TO FULL CAPACITY. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE FUEL GAUGE HAD INCORRECT READING. VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS ON HIGHWAY. WHEN GAS TANK IS FILLED VEHICLE FUEL GAUGE GIVES FALSE EMPTY READING. VEHICLE ALSO STALLS AT TIMES. FUEL GAUGE MOVES AROUND OFTEN DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO OPERATE AS NORMAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY A READING OF EMPTY WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ETHANOL WITHIN THE FUEL WAS EATING AWAY AT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN GAS IS PRESENT. CONTINUES TO BEEP INDICATING THE LOW FUEL. WHEN YOU FIRST TURN ENGINE ON IT WILL REGISTER AN AMOUNT OF GAS THEN FALL TO TRIGGER THE LOW FUEL LIGHT. YOU ARE NEVER SURE HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE FUEL TANK.

MY 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER RAN OUT OF GAS ON A RURAL ROAD LEAVING ME STRANDED. THE GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER PROPERLY. IT FLOATS AROUND. I CANNOT AFFORD THE $600 TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM AT THE DEALERSHIP. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE FOR THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND THINK THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL.. *TR

GAS GAGE FLOATS RANDOMLY UP AND DOWN, NOT STAYING ACCURATE, GAS LIGHT COMING ON CONSTANTLY SAYING "LOW FUEL" EVEN AS PULLING AWAY FROM THE TANK AFTER A COMPLETE FILLUP. HAD BEEN DOING IT FOR A FEW WEEKS OFF/ON, NOW CONSTANT. GAUGE CONSTANTLY READING EMPTY, RARELY MOVING AT ALL. GAS LIGHT STAYS ON. NOW SEEMS TO BE CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE/TRANSMISSION. THE CHECK ENGINE AND FUEL LIGHTS ALSO BEGAN ILLUMINATING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 55,000.
1. ON 5/19/2011, AFTER FILLING MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH GASOLINE, I NOTICED THE GAS LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED ON WHEN PULLING OUT OF THE STATION PARKING LOT. I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD TWO-THREE MILES BEFORE PULLING OVER AND LETTING THE CAR SIT FOR 20-30 MINUTES. UPON RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE GAUGE MOVED TO 1/4 TANK, AND THEN DROPPED BACK TO EMPTY. I DROVE HOME, AND UPON STARTING THE ENGINE THE NEXT MORNING THE GAS GAUGE WAS STILL SHOWING EMPTY. AFTER 2 DAYS, THE GAUGE MOVED BACK UP TO 3/4 TANK. ON 6/1/2011, I HAD 1/4 TANK AND REFILLED, ONLY TO FIND THE GAS LIGHT ILLUMINATED A SECOND TIME AFTER FUELING. THE GAUGE IS CURRENTLY READING 3/4 TANK WHEN JUST FILLED YESTERDAY. 2. IN RESPONSE TO INCORRECT GASOLINE GAUGE IN MY TRAILBLAZER, I HAVE BEGUN PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO MILES DRIVEN AND RESETTING MY ODOMETER AT EACH FILL-UP. HOWEVER THIS IS ONLY A QUICK-FIX, AS I FORESEE ISSUES ARISING DUE TO INABILITY TO PROPERLY READ GASOLINE LEVELS IN MY TANK. 3. AT THIS POINT, I HAVE MADE A PHONE CALL TO THE DEALER, ESTIMATED REPAIR EXCEEDS 1,000 USD. NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN AT THIS POINT TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP/GAUGE. I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK AND THE FUEL GAUGE WAS READING THAT THERE WAS GAS IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE DIED CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH GREAT EFFORT. HAD MY WIFE OR TEENAGE DAUGHTER BEEN DRIVING THE OUTCOME MIGHT HAD BEEN VERY DIFFERENT.AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THE GAUGE WENT TO E AND NEVER WORKED PROPERLY AFTERWARDS. *TR
TODAY FOR THE 5TH TIME MY VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS, THIS TIME ON A BUSY HIGHWAY RIGHT AFTER I TURNED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. A TRUCK CAME WITH FUEL AND I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A GAS STATION. ONE OF COURSE PAYS A MARK UP ON THE FUEL WHEN IT IS BROUGHT TO YOU. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT DOES NOT SERVICE CHEVROLET'S ANY LONGER. ANOTHER DEALERSHIP IN TOWN SAYS THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE UNTIL THERE IS A RECALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I WOULD LIKE TO SELL THE VEHICLE BUT WHO WOULD BUY A VEHICLE LIKE THIS? I MISSED A CLINIC APPOINTMENT, SOMEONE HAD TO COME PICK UP MY SON TO GET HIM TO SCHOOL AND I REARRANGED MY MORNING. THE PREVIOUS TIMES I HAVE BEEN ON MY WAY TO WORK OR IN TO TOWN. ONCE MY SON AND I HAD TO WALK INTO TOWN TO GET A GAS CAN AND WALK BACK WITH THE FUEL. ANOTHER TIME AAA CAME BUT I MISSED ALL MORNING OF WORK. ANOTHER TIME I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT RAN OUT OF FUEL AND MY OLDER SON AND SOME BASKETBALL PLAYERS, ALSO IN MY VEHICLE, PUSHED THE VEHICLE UP THE BLOCK INTO THE GAS STATION. THE OTHER TIME IT RAN OUT WHILE I WAS ON A MAIN STREET BUT I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A NEARBY GAS STATION. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY WHEN IT BEGAN AT ABOUT 75,000. FUEL GAUGE BEGAN READING INACCURATELY FOR A WHILE. AT ONE TIME, THE GAUGE SHOWED A QUARTER TANK, BUT THEN MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON REDWOOD HWY IN GRANTS PASS, OR DUE TO BEING OUT OF GAS. SINCE THEN, THE GAUGE HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. SOMETIMES, THE GAUGE WILL SHOW UP TO A HALF TANK, BUT THE NEEDLE QUICKLY FALLS BACK TO EMPTY. THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM. TWO MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE SENDING UNIT VERY COMMONLY FAILS ON TRAILBLAZERS AND THAT HE WOULD NEED TO DROP THE TANK TO REPLACE IT. *TR

HAVE A 2006 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT ONLY HAS 36,000 MILES AND THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE FUEL GAUGE RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING AFTER FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS. IT READS EMPTY (AND THE LOW FUEL AMBER LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND THE WARNING BELL CHIMES). IT THEN WILL GO BETWEEN 1/4 TANK TO EMPTY TO FULL TO EMPTY (BACK AND FORTH) EVEN THOUGH THE TANK IS COMPLETELY FULL. THIS VEHICLE SUFFERED THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY (IT HAD LESS THAN 3 YEARS 36,000 MILES). AT THAT TIME GM REPLACED THE "FUEL SENSOR SENDING UNIT" AT NO CHARGE TO ME SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. WE ARE NOT SUFFERING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD HAVE TO SURMISE THAT THERE MUST BE A DEFECT SINCE IT CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE NORMAL TO REPLACE A FUEL GAUGE SENSOR TWICE ON A VEHICLE THAT IS JUST NOW FIVE YEARS OLD WITH 61,000 MILES ON IT. FAULTY FUEL GAUGE / FUEL SENDING UNIT / FUEL READING / FUEL PUMP. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED THREE TIMES NOW DUE TO FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNITS. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM BECAUSE MY TRUCK NOW SHOWS THAT I AM ALWAYS ON EMPTY AND CAN BE A HUGE HAZARD AND LIFE ENDANGERMENT. I DON'T WANT TO BE GOING DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND HAVE MY TRUCK STALL. I HAVE REPLACED THIS UNIT TWICE ALREADY AND I AM NOW WITH A FAULTY ONE AGAIN. ALL ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER EQUIPMENT. NO AFTER MARKET REPLACEMENTS. THEY EVEN CALLED IN A CHEVY TECHNICIAN WHO COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY DROPPED THE TANK AND REPLACED THE SENDING UNIT. HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN EXPENSES. THEN THE HEATING FAN SWITCH STARTED SMOKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AS IT HAD MELTED AND NOTHING WORKED . ALSO, EVERY DOOR RUSTED THROUGH AT THE BOTTOM INCLUDING THE REAR HATCH. DEALERS' RESPONSE:WELCOME TO WISCONSIN. I SPENT $700 TO HAVE THE RUST CLEANED UP. *TR
ABOUT 4-5 MONTHS AGO MY FUEL SENSOR STARTED SAYING THAT IT WAS EMPTY WHEN I JUST FILLED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME. AFTER ABOUT 50 MILES OR SO THE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF AND SEEM LIKE NORMAL FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN THE GAS GAUGE WOULD GO BACK AND FORTH. ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY! I RECEIVED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A RECALL NOTICE BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A LIMITED WARRANTY STATING THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR 50% TO GET THIS PART FIXED. OBVIOUSLY GM IS AWARE THAT THIS PART IS FAULTY AND YET WE ARE BEING FORCED TO PAY 50%!!!! THEY SHOULD BE COVERING 100% OF IT. *TR

WASHER FLUID SPRAYS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATE WHEN SWITCH IS NOT ON AND AT TIMES WOULD CONTINUOUSLY SPRAY AND WASH WINDSHIELD WHEN THE SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION. NOW WIPERS WILL ONLY WORK ON HIGH POSITION OR YOU CAN TURN THEM ON AND THEY STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
