DRIVING AT NIGHT AND ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS GO OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO ACTIVATE THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS IN ORDER TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) AND STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,828. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE OPTIONAL ADJUSTABLE FOOT PEDALS, THAT WERE NEVER USED, DEVELOPED A SHORTED CONDITION IN A ELECTRICAL RELAY AND TO THE UNDER THE SEAT CONTROL MODULE WHICH DRAINED THE BATTERY WHILE PARKED, AND WHEN DISCOVERED RESULTED IN A $180.00 LOCAL SHOP DIAGNOSTIC AND DISCONNECT CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER AND ANOTHER $120.00 FOR A NEW BATTERY. THE COST OF REPLACEMENT OF THE COMPONENTS WOULD BE APPROX. $600.00 NOT INCLUDING LABOR.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS JUST WENT OUT ALMOST WENT OFF ROAD BECAUSE IT HAPPENED ON A SLIGHT TURN TO THE RIGHT. LUCKILY IT WAS A MEDIAN DIVIDED ROAD AND I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP. THEY CAME BACK ON AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES OF SITTING WHILE LOOKING UNDER HOOD AND EVERYWHERE ELSE TRYING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM.
ON TWO OCCASIONS NOW WITHIN A TWO WEEK TIME FRAME, VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. BOTH TIMES I WAS IN MOTION AT APPROX. 25 TO 35 MPH. GET IT OVER TO PUT IN PARK AND IT DOES START UP SO FAR. I HAVE CHILDREN AND I COMMUTE ON AN EXTREMELY BUSY FREEWAY. WHAT IF THIS FAILURE OCCURS WHILE I'M MOVING AT 70MPH PLUS? MY MECHANIC HAS REPLACED SOME PARTS IN HOPES IT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON/OFF FOR MONTHS BUT NOTHING OF A MAJOR CONCERN IS SHOWING UP ON THE COMPUTER. I UNDERSTAND THIS VEHICLE HAS 150K MILES BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE HELP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE FLUID LEAKAGE CAUSING POTENTIAL STEERING DIFFICULTIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION A FOURTH TIME AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY) BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WIPER PUMP (WATER) WENT OFF CONTINUOUSLY (ON THEIR OWN) AND WOULD NOT STOP. THE WATER SPRAYER KEPT SQUIRTING WATER AND THE WIPERS KEPT GOING NON STOP. NOTHING WE DID WOULD MAKE IT STOP. FINALLY HAD TO DISCONNECT THE WIPER CONTROL MODULE, JUST TO MAKE THE WIPERS AND WATER STREAMING STOP. I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING-VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

WE WERE TRAVELING FROM SPOKANE, WA TO PORTLAND, OR, WHEN WE GOT TO RICHLAND, WA THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE STOPPED AND SCANNED THE COMPUTER AND GAVE US A CODE FOR A FAULTY PEDAL SENSOR. WE ERASED THE CODE AND TURNED THE TRAILBLAZER ON AND IT CAME BACK ON IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. WE READ ONLINE THAT OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE TRAILBLAZER SS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUES AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SENSOR AND THEY ARE GETTING THEIRS REPLACED. I TALKED TO AUTONATION CHEVROLET AND CAMP CHEVROLET HERE IN SPOKANE, WA AND THEY BOTH HAVE HEARD OF THE RECALL AND THE ISSUE BUT SINCE IT WON'T SHOW UP UNDER MY VIN NUMBER THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL. THEY WON'T 100 TO 150 TO DIAGNOSE WHEN IT TOOK ME 5 SECONDS AND THEY WANT US TO PAY ABOUT 600+ DOLLARS FOR AN REPAIR THAT SHOULD BE FREE. I READ ABOUT THE SENSOR AND OUR TRUCK IS DOING EVERYTHING IT SAYS IT WILL DO. WHEN YOU ARE AT A LIGHT AND GO TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL IT BOGGS DOWN LIKE ABOUT TO DIE THEN LUNGES FORWARD AND SHIFTING HARD BETWEEN GEAR 1 OR 2. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AFTER DARK MY LOW NEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS LOOKING FOR AN AIR CONDITIONER PART ONLINE AND STUMBLED ACROSS THE RECALL. RECALL NUMBER 14V755000. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN NOVEMBER OF 2014. IT OS NOW JUNE OF 2015, THEY HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO HAVEREMEDY. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET SOMETHING DONE WITH MY VEHICLE...A REFUND?? A TEMPORARY FIX?? ANYTHING AT ALL?

MY HEAD LAMP MODULE WENT BAD AND IS RECALLED BUT NO REMEDY HAS BEEN SOLVED, DEALERSHIP REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE BUT I CANNOT GET REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIR DUE TO REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. RECALL DATE WAS NOV 25TH 2015 AM I SUPPOSE TO DRIVE WITHOUT LIGHTS FOR 13 MONTHS. SINCE I TOOK IT TOO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY FIXED IT WHY CANT I GET MY MONEY? PICTURE IS FROM THE INTERNET BUT IS ACTUALLY THE SAME AS MINE. I DO HAVE THE DEFECTED SEAT ELEMENT AT MY HOME.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 3 WEEKS AGO FROM A DEALER IN ST AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA. THE ENGINE WILL JUST SHUT OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING, I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANY HELP FROM THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE EVEN TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE VEHICLE. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING ABOUT 60. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY TRUCK SHUT DOWN, THOUGHT MY FOOT HAD GOT OFF THE PEDDLE BUT WAS STILL ON THE GAS. PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND PRAYED I WASN'T GOING TO GET SMASHED BY TRAFFIC. THEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AND THE SECOND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AS I PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD STOP THE CAR PUT IT IN PARK. AND TRIED TO START IT AND ALL IT DID WAS CRANK AND NOT TURN OVER LIKE I WAS OUT OF GAS. DID RESEARCH ON CONDITIONS AND IT CAME BACK DEFAULT IGNITION SWITCH. THIS HAS JUST BEEN A NIGHTMARE. ONLY TO ARRIVE AT CHEVY. AND LOOK MY VIN NUMBER UP AND SAID YOUR VIN DOESN'T PULL UP ANY RECALLS? HUN YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME RIGHT. AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE WITH 12 GALLONS OF GAS, (FILLING IT UP FROM HALF A TANK) THE FUEL GAUGE READ EMPTY AND THE OUT OF FUEL / LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE WHILE IN TRAFFIC DRIVING IT HOME, BUT DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT AS TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AT THE TIME. AFTER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS EVERY 50K MILES "GIVE OR TAKE" AND THAT I NEED TO HAVE MY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND FUEL PUMP REPLACED. IN LOOKING ONLINE, I FIND THAT THIS IS INDEED A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT HAS RESULTED IN CRASHES AND OTHER SAFETY ISSUES AND HAS BEEN IGNORED BY GM AND THE NHTSA FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW DESPITE THE CONSTANTLY GROWING NUMBER OF CLAIMS. THE DEALER STATED IT WOULD COST "SOMEWHERE AROUND $900" TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I TOLD THEM WHAT I THOUGHT OF THAT, BOUGHT THE DELPHI REPLACEMENT UNIT MYSELF FOR $200 AND MADE THE REPAIRS ON MY OWN. HOWEVER GM IS GOING TO BE GETTING A BILL FOR THIS FROM MY LAWYERS. *TR

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEAD LIGHTS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON. I CONTACTED GOOD CHEVY IN RENTON, WA ON SATURDAY 3-14-15, ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AS THE RECALL PARTS WERE NOT OUT YET. I TOLD THEM I HAD A LETTER FROM GM THAT SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT DRIVER MODULE WITH THE SAME AS IT HAD AND WHEN THE NEW MODULE COMES OUT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE. THEY INSISTED THAT I PAY FOR DIAGNOSIS AND PARTS AND WOULD BE REIMBURSED AT A LATER TIME WHEN THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED. I DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM MY SELF AND PURCHASED THE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE AND REPLACED IT MY SELF. MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR TO WORK AND LEAVES THE HOUSE AT 4:30 AM AND SHE NEEDS THE HEADLIGHTS TO WORK. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER IS 14V-755. GM RECALL NUMBER IS 14291. THE LETTER STATES ALL THIS WILL BE DONE FREE OF CHARGE. *TR

I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATING EMPTY AFTER A FILL UP ALTHOUGH ITS NOT... I HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, I SPENT $900.00 (AT THE TIME) ON AN ACDELCO FUEL SENDING UNIT AND REPLACED THE PART... IT WORKED FOR SOMETIME, HOWEVER, HERE WE ARE TWO YEARS LATER AND ITS HAPPENING AGAIN...I DON'T HAVE $900.00 TO REPLACE THE PART AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY (LUCKILY IT WASN'T TO BUSY, BUT BUSY ENOUGH AT THE TIME OF 9:30AM IN THE MORNING ON A MONDAY) DOING ABOUT 55MPH, GIVE OR TAKE, AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF, THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND IT WOULD NOT START. LUCKILY FOR ME, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE COOPERATION OF A STATE TROOPER TO SIT WITH ME UNTIL SOMEONE COULD BRING ME GAS. SURE ENOUGH IT WAS A GAS ISSUE DUE TO THE SENSOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THE TRUCK STARTED RIGHT UP ONCE I PUT A FEW GALLONS IN THE TRUCK.. *TR
TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THE LIGHT BESIDE IT STAY ON 24/7. I HAVE HAD IT AT MY MECHANIC WHO HAS SENT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AND HAVE REPLACED ALL PARTS BUT THE COMPUTER TO MY CAR. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE COMPUTER AND NOT KNOW IF THAT IS THE FIX. MY HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER AND SOME DAYS TURN OFF WHICH HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT WHEN I GIVE MY VIN THE DEALER TELLS ME I HAVE ZERO RECALLS. THEY DO THIS WHEN SITTING STILL, DRIVING SLOW OR EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE CARS THINKING I AM FLASHING THEM SOME TIMES WHEN I AM NOT. IF I ROLL MY WINDOWS UP THEY DIM. I ALSO WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WHEN MY CAR STALLED ON ME. WHEN I COASTED DOWN THE HILL TO STOP, THE CAR STARTED. MY MECHANIC PUT IT ON COMPUTER BUT THE CODE WAS AN "UNEXPLAINED" REASON, BASICALLY NO ONE KNOW WHY OR IF MY CAR WILL DO IT AGAIN. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS CAR FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP OVER THE HEADLIGHTS BUT IT WAS DAYLIGHT AND THEY DID NOT SEE IT SO SAID THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. I AM SO OVER MY CAR, I AM TO THE POINT I WILL NOT OWN ANOTHER GM PRODUCT. I HAVE SEEN 3 RECALLS IN THE NEWS THAT MATCH MY YEAR AND MAKE, BUT MY "VIN" SAYS OTHERWISE. I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A TICKING TIME BOMB. MY COMPUTER LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ON FOR 3 YEARS NOW, HEADLIGHTS HAVE DONE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2008, AND IT STALLED BEGINNING OF SPRING 2015. I JUST WANT A SAFE RELIABLE VEHICLE!
TAKATA RECALL IF FLUID, SUCH AS MELTED SNOW CONTAINING ROAD SALT, ENTERS THE DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE, IT MAY CAUSE CORROSION THAT COULD RESULT IN A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD. A SHORT MAY CAUSE THE POWER DOOR LOCK AND POWER WINDOW SWITCHES TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY OR MAY STOP WORKING. SHORTLY AFTER HAVING THE POWER CONTROL MODULE REPLACED & REPROGRAMMED THROUGH A CERTIFIED SHOP, THE DAYTIME RUNNERS/LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BEGAN WORKING/FAILING INTERMITTENTLY. WE NOTICED THE DAYTIME RUNNER LIGHTS WOULD STOP WORKING/TURN OFF AND ONLY SOMETIMES TURN BACK ON. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING TO THE STORE AND WE HAD TO USE THE BRIGHTS THE REST OF THE WAY THERE AND WHOLE WAY BACK HOME.
THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS NOT WORKING. WHEN MY DAD OPENED THE HOOD THERE WAS AN AROMA OF BURNING WIRE. MY DAD REMOVED THE RUBBER CAP FOR THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT AND FOUND THE PLASTIC ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE LOW BEAM BULB WAS BURNT AND CHARRED. MY DAD REMOVED THE CONNECTOR IN ORDER TO AVOID A FIRE. I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NOT A CURRENT RECALL FOR MY VIN NUMBER AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER FOR REPAIR. I CONTACTED A DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE REPAIR COULD RUN HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR

I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE DIM LIGHTS AND COULD ONLY PROCEED USING THE BRIGHT LIGHTS. THE NEXT THING I REALIZE IS THAT I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. I THEN PROCEEDED TO SLIDE DOWN AN EMBANKMENT APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED ENORMOUS DAMAGE TO THE FRONT AND SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND MY VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY MY INSURER.

FRIDAY JANUARY 23, I WAS DRIVING MY 7 YEAR OLD TO SCHOOL AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STEEP HILL. I HAD NO BRAKES OR STEERING. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I AGAIN TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC. HE KEPT MY CAR FOR 4 DAY. I FINALLY PICKED IT UP YESTERDAY JANUARY 24 AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. MY MECHANIC SAID HE IS STUMPED. IT DROVE GREAT AFTER PICKING IT UP. THEN THIS MORNING JANUARY 25, AS I WAS TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL, MY CAR SHUT OFF 3 TIME WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN TWO HILLS. THEN IT STALED 2 MORE TIMES WHILE I WAS A RED LIGHTS. I NEARLY MISSED TWO ACCIDENTS. BY DOING RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I CALL THE LOCAL CHEVY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THIS IS AN KNOWN PROBLEM. I CALLED CHEVY DIRECTLY AND THEY TOO ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS. I EVEN FOUND COMPLAINTS ON THIS VERY SITE. I'M JUST CURIOUS IF SOMEONE HAS TO DIE BEFORE THIS PROBLEM GETS FIXED.
