TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 45 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED WHEN THE AIR BECAME HOT. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WAS 12,000. UPDATED 01/26/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED ALL THE GAUGES DROPPED TO ZERO AND THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT OPEN AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART FOR 45 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED AFTER THE SECOND TIME. UPDATED 04/13/11
WE OWN A 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH THE 8 PASSENGER SEATING. I AM AWARE THAT THIS PROBLEM AFFECTS ALSO THE SEVEN PASSENGER VERSIONS OF THIS VEHICLE ALSO, THROUGH CONVERSING WITH OTHER TRAVERSE OWNERS ON BLOGS. THE REAR SEATBELT ANCHORS ARE VERY PAINFUL TO PASSENGERS, AND DIG INTO THE HIPS. THIS AFFECTS THE SECOND ROW PASSENGERS, WHETHER THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH CAPTAINS CHAIRS OR A SECOND ROW BENCH. IT ALSO AFFECTS ALL THIRD ROW PASSENGERS. THE ANCHORS ARE ENTIRELY TOO STIFF AND STICK STRAIGHT OUT FROM THE 90 DEGREE POINT OF THE SEAT, WITH NO "GIVE" AT ALL. THE PASSENGERS HAVE TO ACTUALLY SIT A BIT SIDEWAYS TO AVOID BEING DISCOMFORTED BY THE BELTS. ALSO, SOME TRAVERSE OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF A GREAT DEAL OF DIFFICULTY WITH INSTALLING CAR SEATS BECAUSE OF THESE BELT ANCHORS. MY KIDS ARE OLDER NOW, SO I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THIS, BUT I FEEL FOR THEM. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE FROM YOUR DEPARTMENT LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER, AND POSSIBLY GETTING US DISGRUNTLED TRAVERSE OWNERS SOME SATISFACTION. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION. *TR
HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM IMPOSSIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE. NORMAL 6 FOOT PERSON WITH STRAIGHT POSTURE, RESTRAINT PUSHES HEAD DOWNWARD CAUSING MODERATE TO SEVERE NECK DISCOMFORT AFTER ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OF DRIVING. ONLY SOLUTION FOUND WAS TO REMOVE OR REVERSE HEAD RESTRAINT, OR TO LAY DOWN BACK OF SEAT WHILE DRIVING. UNSATISFACTORY DESIGN. *TR
TL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERESE. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEAD REST IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND IF A REAR END CRASH OCCURS A SERIOUS NECK INJURY CAN BE CAUSE BY THESE HEAD REST. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THE HEAD REST A MANDATED BY THE HIGHT SAFETY TASK FORCE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE WITH THE MANUFACTURER HEAD REST AND NHTSA SHOULD LOOK INTO REMOVING THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. JO
I HAVE HAD TROUBLE FROM THE BEGINNING AND HAVE HAD IT CHECKED WITH NO ANSWERS FOUND. THE CAR HAS LOCKED BY ITSELF (WITH AND WITHOUT KEYS IN IGNITION), SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL "DING/ALARM" WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN AND KEYS ARE IN IGNITION AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T, WINDOWS HAVE ROLLED DOWN BY THEMSELVES, WINDOWS WON'T MOVE WHEN LEVER IS PUSHED (ONLY HAPPENED A COUPLE TIMES), BACK UP "BEEP" SOUND (FOR BACK UP CAMERA) KEEPS BEEPING EVEN AFTER CAR IS PUT INTO DRIVE, THE BATTERY DIED AND HAD TO BE TOWED AND BATTERY REPLACED (LESS THAN A YEAR), THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON ONCE WHILE DRIVING, AND ONCE THE LIGHTS CAME ON WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED. *JS
WAS GETTING READY TO PARK ON THE STREET WHEN A CAR HIT ME,I HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME,MY CAR WAS THROWN ON THE SIDE WALK,I WAS PASS OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS,BUMP MY HEAD,MY CAR WAS TOTAL, FRONT AND REAR,SURPRISINGLY MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY TO HELP PROTECT ME FROM MY INJURIES I GOT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, SHE NOTICED A BELL RINGING INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS RISING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THAT THE EMISSION SYSTEM MAY HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LOCATED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT; A MECHANIC STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS MOSTLY LIKELY IN RELATION TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND ASKED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE; THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 150.
VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS HAD A RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE 4 YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS MADE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE BASE OF THE COLUMN AND ALSO CHANGED THE STEERING GEAR. THE PROBLEM HAS COME BACK WITH INCREASING EFFORT TO STEER THE CAR. NOW THE DEALERSHIP STATES THE CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND 12 MONTHS HAVE ELAPSED SINCE THE REPLACEMENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADREST ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE PUSHED HIS HEAD FORWARD AND HE WAS ONLY ABLE TO SEE THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT HE NEEDED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE THE HEADREST WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. CLAIM#714-849689560 WAS FILED WITH GENERAL MOTORS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 610.
WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON HILL OR GRADE, THE TRAVERSE ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED. THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AUTO TRANSMISSION DOES NOT HOLD THE TRAVERSE IN PLACE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. THERE WAS ALSO AN UNUSUAL GRINDING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP YET THE NOISE REMAINED IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER INFORMED HER THAT THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN AND WHEEL GEAR FAILED AND WOULD ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED BY THE DEALER WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD CONFIRM WITH THE DEALER THAT THE CORRECT REPAIR WAS BEING MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,700 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR CENTER SEAT BELT RETRACTOR MALFUNCTIONED AND AS A RESULT, THE SEAT BELT COULD NOT BE UTILIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE BELT BEING TWISTED, WHICH WOULD NEED TO BE REALIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, PARK ASSIST OFF AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY BUT THE CHECK ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS RESET. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. WHEN THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A WIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD WHICH WAS MISSING ITS PROTECTIVE COVERING AND NEEDED TO BE RE-COATED. THE WIRE WAS RECOATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS UNTIL THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON BOTH OCCASIONS BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,000. UPDATED 10/05/10. *LJ
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN I-25 NEAR MONUMENT COLORADO, I BEGAN TO PASS A SEMI-TRUCK AS I'VE DONE 1000 TIMES BEFORE. I ACCELERATED SLIGHTLY TO GO AROUND THE TRUCK AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THIS DID NOT RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR. I CHECKED THE FLOOR MAT AND IT WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND CHECKED THE CRUISE CONTROL WHICH WAS NOT ENGAGED AT THE TIME. I IMMEDIATELY PUSHED MY EMERGENCY ON-STAR BUTTON AND THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND STEP ON THE BRAKE. THIS EMERGENCY PROCEDURE DID WORK THANKFULLY.
WHEN TURNING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT AND THE RACK AND PINION WAS MAKING A ROARING SOUND. SALES AUTO CHERV DEALER FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM CONCERN THAT THE RACK AND PINION MIGHT START LEAKING AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR CONCERN OF GENERAL MOTORS. AFTER READING THE INCIDENT REPORTS, THIS MUST BE HAPPENING TO ALL OF THE TRAVERSES. SOME OWNERS HAVE NO CLUE. AFTER THREE MONTHS BEING THE CHEVROLET TRAVERSE OWNER THIS HAPPEN AND I HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT CHECKED EACH TIME I GO FOR SERVICE. PLEASE HAVE GENERAL MOTORS TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE REGARDING THE STEERING OF THE FRONT RACK AND PINION. CHEVROLET OWNER *TR
1. STOPPED AT RED LIGHT IN 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE SUV AND REAR ENDED BY A NISSAN FRONTIER PICK UP TRUCK TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. DRIVER'S SEAT BELT ON BUT DRIVER'S HEAD THROWN AGAINST WINDSHIELD AND THEN DRIVER'S BODY SLAMMED AGAINST THE BACK OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHICH WAS FORCED BACK TO A RECLINING POSITION. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. 2. SEAT BELT FAILED TO PREVENT DRIVER'S HEAD FROM HITTING WINDSHIELD IF IT IS SUPPOSED TO IN THIS TYPE OF COLLISION. DID THE SEAT BACK ACT PROPERLY IN SUCH A COLLISION? WAS THE AIRBAG SUPPOSED TO DEPLOY IN THIS TYPE OF COLLISION. 3. IN BODY SHOP TO REPAIR TO PRE-ACCIDENT CONDITION.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW WIPERS WERE EXTREMELY SLOW AND WOULD NOT PROPERLY CLEAR THE REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST THE CONTACT BECAUSE THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALTER THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO BE PERFORMING TO STANDARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I PURCHASED OUR 2010 TRAVERSE NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2009. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE POWER STEERING FAILURE AND REPLACEMENT 3 TIMES. THE POWER STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED AT 9500 MILES, AT 35,000 MILES, AND NOW IT IS OUT AGAIN AT 48,000 MILES. I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WON'T GO OFF, NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME MY TIMING CHAIN NEEDS REPLACED BASED ON THE CODES DETECTED FROM THE COMPUTER. I HAVE TRIED TO GET GM, AND OR A LOCAL DEALER TO WORK WITH ME ON THESE ON GOING ISSUES, AND THEY COULD CARE LESS. *TR
