I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON I-75. THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WENT FROM 65 MPH DOWN TOO 25 MPH, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND ON KEPT SWITCHING. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GAIN SPEED, EVEN WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER LIGHTS WERE ON EXCEPT FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF/ON LIGHTS. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI. I PULLED OVER, SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES, AND RESTARTED IT. NO LIGHTS WERE ON, AND I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME. WHILE IN A SLOW SPEED ON A SIDE ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, AND THIS TIME SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. AGAIN THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND ON KEPT DISPLAYING ON THE DCIM. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY ACCELERATES OR DECELERATES THE DOORS WILL UNLOCK THEN LOCK AND UNLOCK AND LOCK, THE WARNING CHIME GOES OFF RAPIDLY AND THE CAR WILL THEN EITHER DECELERATE OR ACCELERATE. THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF THEN ON THEN OFF THEN ON COMES ON, AND THEN THE CAR IS FINE.
I TOOK MY 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE IN FOR A STANDARD OIL CHANGE TODAY AND THEY TELL ME THAT I HAVE A STEERING GEAR LEAK AT 34,000 MILES. I AM READING THAT MANY OTHERS ALSO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE COST TO FIX IS $1,375. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND GM SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL AND PAYING FOR THE REPAIR. I WAS GOING TO GO ON A FAMILY VACATION AND NOW NEED TO GET THIS FIXED FIRST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (MIKE SAVOIE CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 1900 W MAPLE RD, TROY, MI 48084 PHONE NUMBER 248-566-6523) WHERE THE TIMING CHAIN WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER TWO YEARS THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SAME REPAIR WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
Power steering intermittently fails at low speed we have had near collisions and as a result my wife cannot drive the car she’s not strong enough to turn the wheel at low speeds I’m afraid somebody’s gonna get in a wreck with this or another car like it I’ve heard other complaints from traverse owners about the same thing
I STARTED MY CAR AND DROVE OUT MY DRIVEWAY AS SOON AS I GET TO THE CORNER TO TURN MY STERLING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THEN I HAD TO HURRY UP TO BRAKE IN ORDER TO NOT HIT THE SIGN AND CURB. FINALLY WHEN IT RELEASED I GOT TO THE MAIN ROAD AND WAS DRIVING ABOUT 20-25 MPH MY VEHICLE RADIO STARTED TO SWITCH FROM FM TO CD ON ITS ON AND THEN I COULDN'T ACELLRATE TO A HIGHER SPEED. THE VEHICLE DISPLAY SHOWED SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF. THERE WAS SOME KIND OF ENGINE LOSS BUT IT STALLED OUT TOO. THIS HAPPENED TWO TIMES NOW! I SEE IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE TRAVERSE SINCE 2011 MODELS. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP DOES NOTHING TO FIX THIS. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR WITH MY FAMILY AND HAVE US GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 1.5 YEARS. SOMEONE COULD GET HURT OR KILLED WHILE DRIVING ONE. THEY ARE NOT FINDING OUT THE ISSUES OR RECALLING THESE VEHICLES!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT HEARD A CRUNCHING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT TIRES OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE THE TRANSMISSION. THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AMERICAN CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 4742 MCHENRY, MODESTO, CA 95356) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AXLE COMPLETELY DETACHED AND THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ALSO WAS DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE WITHOUT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY IN APRIL OF 2017. THE BEST THE MANUFACTURER COULD DO WAS TO OFFERED 40% OFF THE REPAIR FEES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JOSEPH CHEVROLET IN CINCINNATI, OHIO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAK WAS DUE TO A FAULTY POWER STEERING PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. UPDATED 08/31/17*LJ *CN
I BOUGHT THE CAR 12/2015. WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED ON ME ON 1-95 WITH MY CHILDREN AND I, WE WERE TERRIFIED. DURING A SERVICE IN 2/2016, I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A 20,000 MILE DISCREPANCY. THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE ENGINE BUT THE A/C WAS NOT COVERED IN THE STANDARD WARRANTY. SINCE THEN, I BOUGHT MY CAR TO AUTONATION IN APROX. 12 TIMES. LAST TIME, I BOUGHT THE CAR OVER IN MAY, I DROPPED IN OFF BECAUSE MY CAR WAS SHAKING, GAS WAS COMING OUT THE PIPE AND THEN IT STOPPED AND RECEIVED MY CAR BACK OVER 24 HOURS LATER. WHEN I PICKED MY CAR BACK, I RECEIVED A ESTIMATE OF ATLEAST $3,000 AND WAS TOLD IF I WERE TO GET THE CERTAIN REPAIRS DONE TO THE CAR, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT, MY CAR WOULD STOP HAVING THE PROBLEM, WHEN THE CAR STOPS. AGAIN, THIS MONTH, MY CAR DID THE SAME THING AND THE TRUNK DOOR WOULD NOT STAY OPEN, I HAVE TO HOLD THE DOOR UP WITH MY HANDS. THEN I TOOK IT SOMEWHERE ELSE, THAT REPAIR CENTER, STATED THAT MY COMPUTER HAS PROBLEMS, I NEED A NEW CONDENSER AND COMPRESSOR.
2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE ENGINE KNOCKING NOISE. THOUGHT IS WAS ROD KNOCKING BUT KNOW BELIEVE IT TO BE TIMING CHAIN. VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND DOES NOT RUN. CHEVROLET NEED TO RECALL THESE ENGINES AND FIX THESE TIMING CHAINS.
ENGINE SEIZED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. NO OIL IN ENGINE. NEVER HAD A LEAK, CHANGED OIL 2800 MILES BEFORE INCIDENT, THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE READ NORMAL, NO IDIOTS LIGHTS ON THE DASH. WHERE DID THE ALL THE OIL GO IN 2600 MILES?
EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH REDUCED ENGINE POWER/STABILITRAK/TRACTION OFF. THIS HAPPENED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS HEADED HOME WORK.ENGINE REVING UNABLE TO MOVE AT NORMAL SPEED I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP & WAS TOLD IT WAS 3 BROKEN WIRES ON THE TCM. GOT THE TRUCK BACK AND ALL SEEMED OK, THEN LESS THAN 1 WEEK LATER AFTER PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY CHMES STARTED DINGING,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, TRACTION CONTOL LIGHT CAME ON, DIC SHOWED "SERVICE STIBILITRACK" AND "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW...
I WAS PUTTING GROCERIES AWAY IN THE BACK OF MY PARKED TRAVERSE WHENTHE LIFT GATE SUDDENLY SLAMMED DOWN AND HIT ME ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD. LIFT GATE OPENS THEN SLAMS SHUT, WON'T REMAIN OPEN.
THIS IS A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST GENERAL MOTORS REGARDING THE 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. A SAFETY HAZARD AMONG MYSELF AND OTHERS HOME CAN BE SERIOUSLY INJURED IF NOT KILLED. I USE THIS VEHICLE TO AND FROM WORK ABOUT 75 MILES TO COMMUTE THROUGH THE CASCADE MOUNTAINS. WE BOUGHT THIS CHEVY TRAVERSE OCTOBER 2016 AND HAVE REGULARLY SERVICED AND MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY INCLUDING OR NOT LIMITED TO OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATIONS BUT ALSO POWER STEERING/SUSPENSION WORK. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS OR ABUSE AS A DRIVER. ALL OF A SUDDEN ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AN HOUR DECREASING SPEED AS SHARP CURVES APPROACHING. WITH NO WARNING IT FELT AS IF THERE WAS MINIMAL POWER AND NO CONTROL THE CAR DRAMATICALLY REDUCED FROM 60 TO ABOUT 20 25 MILES AN HOUR, WHILE THEIR VEHICLES BEHIND ME AND HAD TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AS I WAS WAY BEFORE THE ACTUAL CURVES AT THIS POINT IN TIME I NOTICED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKING AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AS WELL AS STABILITRAK. AS WE PROCEED IT AROUND CURVES AT AN UPHILL SLANT I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED BUT DECREASING FROM 25 DOWN TO 10 - 12 MILES AN HOUR. ROUTE 66 ASHLAND OREGON IS DANGEROUS WITH BACK-TO-BACK SHARP CURVES BLIND SPOTS NARROW ROADS AND WEATHER COUSIN FATALITIES EVERY YEAR. LOOKING BEHIND ME A FEW CARS COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN HIT FROM ANYONE COMING AROUND THAT CURVE. A SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MILES AN HOUR AND NOT BEING ABLE TO REACH 20 MPH. THIS MORNING ONCE AGAIN HAPPENED SO I PULLED OVER TO TROUBLESHOOT ONLINE AND I FOUND FROM 2009 THERE HAVE BEEN A SERIES OF COMPLAINTS THAT GM'S MOTORS LACKS RESPONSIBILITY THAT PERTAINS TWO THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AMONG TRAVERSE AS WELL AS OTHER MODELS. I AM SIMPLY TRYING TO PREVENT MYSELF WIFE THREE CHILDREN AND YOU FROM A POTENTIAL FATALITY OF WHICH CAN BE PREVENTED.
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING APX 25 MPH AND SLOWING FOR A RIGHT TURN. CAR DIED IN BUSY TRAFFIC AT INTERSECTION ON A CITY STREET. NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO OIL LIGHT AND NO ENGINE LIGHT. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND IT SOUNDED HORRIBLE AND HAD NO POWER. TOOK IT INTO A SHOP TO FIND THE ENGINE HAD FAILED DUE TO IMPROPER OIL PRESSURE. SPUN ROD BEARING, AND TIMING CHAIN FAILURE. CAR RAN PERFECT BEFORE THIS INCIDENT AND I ADHERED TO OIL CHANGE SCHEDULE . I STILL OWE $20,000 ON IT! GM AND CHEVY WILL NOT HELP, EVEN THO I BOUGHT FROM A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. ALSO HAD TO REPLACE POWER STEERING PUMP TWICE IN A YEAR. BLOWER MOTOR QUIT WORKING AND WIPER MOTOR. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, I FIND TO THESE TO BE EXTREMELY COMMON ISSUES. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR TIMING CHAIN AND ENGINE FAILURE IN 2009 TO 2011, THEN AGAIN IN 2013 BUT NOT 2012? WHY CHEVY?! COST TO FIX: $9,926. ALMOST HALF OF WHAT I OWE ON A VEHICLE IVE HAD A YEAR.
AT 59,346 THE AIR CONDITIONING QUIT BLOWING COLD AIR. I HAD TO HAVE THE DISCHARGE LINE REPLACED FOR $408.00. THIS LOOKS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM.
OUR 2012 TRAVERSE WITH ~57,000 MILES ON IT HAD A POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK AND PINION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO TURN AND THE TWO COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I AM TOLD THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME OF THE MODEL/YEARS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT NOT OURS. I WOULD LIKE GM TO INVESTIGATE AND INCLUDE OUR YEAR/MODEL IN THE RECALL AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIPER ARM NUT LOOSENED AND PREVENTED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FROM OPERATING NORMALLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TIGHTEN THE WIPER ARM NUT, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V151000 (VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
I OWN A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, WITH JUST OVER 41,000 MILES. YESTERDAY, WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE TRACTION CONTROL / STABILITRAK, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PRIOR TO THAT I HAD NO ISSUES, THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING FINE. I HAVE KEPT IT WELL MAINTAINED AND CLEAN, AND DRIVE AT THE SPEED LIMIT, ON GOOD ROADS. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE, AND IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO RECALL NOTICES, WHICH SEEMS UNUSUAL FOR THE NUMBER OF ISSUES. THE TRAVERSE IS A NICE VEHICLE, BUT I HAVE BEEN IN 3 TIMES FOR MANUFACTURER RECALLS REGARDING OTHER ISSUES. GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, GIVEN THAT IT AFFECTS WHAT APPEARS TO BE MANY MODEL YEARS OF THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS.
WHILE DRIVING THRU A PARKING LOT THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE IN THE FRONT END FOLLOWED BY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKING UP. I HAD TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON TO BE ABLE TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE.
I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE RD WITH MY TODDLER WHEN UNEXPECTEDLY THE CAR BEGAN TO ABRUPTLY SLOW DOWN. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR THAT SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH A MESSAGE ENGINE POWER REDUCED, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, STABILITRACK NEEDS SERVICING. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND WITH CARS FLYING BY IT WAS TERRYING TRYING TO PULL OFF SAFELY. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT INCREASE IN SPEED WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER PULLING OFF I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE ENGINE OFF WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TRIED TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN BUT RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGES. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN GEAR IT STRUGGLED TO MOVE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AGAIN AND THEN WAITED 10 MINUTES. UPON RESTARTING THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BUT NO OTHER MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 3/30/17. WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON. THE SERVICE ADVISORS CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER AND STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY ONLY NOTED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND THIS COULD POSSIBLY HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY SO I PAID BELIEVING THIS WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY IT HAPPENED AGAIN DRIVING ON A CITY RD AND I WAS NEARLY STRUCK FROM BEHIND AGAIN AND STRUGGLED TO SAFELY GET OFF THE ROAD. THIS TIME MY HUSBAND AND 2 OTHER CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE SAME DASH NOTIFICATIONS AND AFTER GETTING IT STARTED I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP ON 3/17/18. I SHOWED THEM THE PICS AND WAS ADAMANT I WOULD NOT GET IN THE CAR AGAIN UNLESS IT WAS FIXED. THEY ASSURED ME IT WOULD BE FIXED THIS TIME. A FEW DAYS LATER THEY STATED THE FUEL PUMP FUEL LINES AND FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER MY SECOND EXPERIENCE I FOUND SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
THE POWER LIFT GATE FALLS PREMATURELY. I CLICK THE BUTTON TO OPEN IT AND IT GOES UP. BUT AS SOON AS IT GETS FULLY LIFTED, IT IMMEDIATELY GOES BACK DOWN. I'VE SEEN WHERE THERE IS A RECALL CAMPAIGN #15V415000 ON TRAVERSES PRODUCED JULY 6, 2008 - FEBRUARY 28, 2012. MY VIN, HOWEVER, ISN'T LISTED IN THAT RECALL FOR SOME REASON. IT IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL LISTS ON ALL OF THESE OTHER TRAVERSES. I'D JUST LIKE TO BE ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR TO OUR LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM FIX IT WITH THE OPEN RECALL.
WE WERE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH TWO SMALL INFANTS IN THE CAR GOING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND RAPIDLY LOST SPEED, CAUSING US TO SWERVE INTO THE DITCH AND OTHER CARS BEHIND US SLAMMING ON THEIR BRAKES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON. ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND NEEDED TO BE SHUT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDS A NEW THROTTLE BODY. AFTER CONTACTING GENERAL MOTORS, WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, AND IN SOME CASES AN EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS BEEN GIVEN. WE WERE THEN TOLD THAT OUR VEHICLE DOES NOT FIT THAT DESCRIPTION BECAUSE THE THROTTLE BODY WAS MADE IN A DIFFERENT FACILITY AS THE OTHERS. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ERROR AS THE KNOWN ISSUE BUT GENERAL MOTORS IS REFUSING TO TAKE ANY ACTION. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED IMMEDIATELY IN ORDER TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY.
TRAVERSE CAME TO SUDDEN STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD WITH NO WARNING. TOW TO MECHANIC WHO FOUND THERE WAS NO OIL. ZERO OIL LEAKS LOCATED; APPEARED TO HAVE BURNED ALL OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. TRAVERSE HAD 81K MILES AND WAS JUST A FEW MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AT TIME. ALMOST 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS SPENT ON NEW ENGINE. WE ALSO OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU WITH 72K MILES THAT WE RECENTLY DISCOVERED HAD NO OIL ON DIPSTICK IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. ADDED TWO QUARTS OF OIL, WHICH ONLY GOT IT TO BOTTOM OF DIPSTICK. WE HAVE NOW HEARD MANY EXAMPLES (FRIENDS/FAMILY) IN WHICH THIS IS HAPPENING TO CHEVROLET'S WITH UNDER 100K MILES.
TAKATA RECALL MY STEERING WHEEL MAKES NOISES WHEN I TURN RIGHT OR LEFT. IT'S REALLY BAD WHEN I'M PARKING MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT AND NEED TO TURN TO GET IN THE SPOT OR BACK OUT. IT'S ALSO LEAKING FLUID UNDER MY CAR, POSSIBLY THE STEERING WHEEL FLUID.
I PURCHASED A 2012 TRAVERSE IT HAS KNOWN ISSUES AND THE DEALER AND THE COMPANY'S HEADQUARTERS STATED THEY ARE KNOWN ISSUES BUT THERE ARE NOT ANY RECALLS AND WOULD NOT REPLACE OR GIVE ANY DISCOUNT IN FIXING THE DEFECTS. THE TRAVERSE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET AND SIDE SEAT COVER HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, THE AIR CONDITION WIRING HARNESS IS LOCATED IN A PLACE THE RUBS AGAINST THE CHASSIS AND THE FRAME THAT CAUSE A HOLE TO RUB IN THE LINE. THE FRONT WILL NOT REMAIN IN ALIGNMENT. VEHICLES ARE VERY NOISY, WE HAVE TO TALK LOUD OR TURN THE RADIO UP TO HEAR. I HAVE TALKED TO THE HEADQUARTERS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE LOCAL DEALERS WITH NO RESOLUTION OR HELP. PLEASE HELP.
When driving the vehicle it will lose power and flash service stabilitrack and low engine mode enabled without warning. This has happened many times since 2016. When the conditions cannot be replicated gm/chevrolet has not been concerned but to refer to dealership. The dealership replaced ECM due to warranty conditions. Issue with emissions and electrical modules continued to cause intermittent power loss. Corrosion was found in the internal fuse box due to poor sun roof drainage emptying into glovebox and onto internal fuse box. GM and Chevrolet describes this as a known issue but insists my VIN is not affected. The issues continued to persist leading to frequent battery replacement that was ultimately due to contamination of electrical components. Fuel system parts were all assumed faulty only to find it was ultimately the fuel control module, another electronic component listed faulty but GM/ Chevrolet assumes my VIN is not affected. This car was purchased to be a family vehicle, but had proven to be an unreliable death trap. The first incident that caused concern was 2/14/2017 on the highway with speeds up to 70mph. Thankfully, that day was full of heavy traffic that did not allow drivers to reach high speeds. If I had been going that fast when the engine lost power I can only imagine what that would have meant for me and my family. I know I am not the only owner of a Chevrolet traverse with these concerning issues. I find it irresponsible for GM/Chevrolet/Buick to mass produce vehicles with these issues and fail to acknowledge the hazard they represent. Knowing they have produced a lemon that cost the sticker price, repair cost, and potentially human lives and failing to remedy the issue astounds me. I urge you to please investigate this concern.

HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE LATE JANUARY 2017. WITHIN 2 DAYS OF HAVING IT, THE SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND REDUCE ENGINE POWER ALARMS CAME UP. THERE WAS ALSO GAS FUMES FILLING MY CAR. HAD SERVICE COMPLETED, ALL THAT WAS FOUND WAS A FOULED OUT SPARK PLUG. CAR HAS HAD THESE SAME ALARMS COME UP MAYBE A DOZEN TIMES OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS. THE FIRST TIME THESE CAME UP, VEHICLE WAS IDLING. OTHER TIMES. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. HAVE ALSO HAD THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COME UP AS WELL. THE MIDDLE SEATBELT IN THE CENTER OF THE CAR, DOESN'T COME OUT AT ALL.
POWER STEERING FAILURE. LOUD WHINING FROM THE "STEERING GEAR" AND "POWER STEERING PUMP" FULL FAILURE. I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED. IT HAS APPROX 60,000 MILES ON IT. SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE WITH THAT MANY MILES UNLESS IT'S A FACTORY OEM DEFECT !!!
RECEIVED SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS RECALL NUMBER 14030 NOTICE MAY 2014. HAD RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED 15 AUG 14 BY DEALER WHERE TRAVERSE PURCHASED. AT APPROXIMATELY 100,350 MILES ON 16 JAN 17 "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ONLY WARRANTED FOR 90 DAYS. AMAZING THAT CHEVROLET CAM GET AWAY WITH THIS ON A CRITICAL SAFETY REPAIR ON AN AIR BAG SYSTEM. VEHICLE IS AT THE SAME DEALER WHO MADE REPAIR NOW, TODAY FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR.
VEHICLE WILL DISPLAY "SERVICE STABILITRAK" "TRACTION CONTROL OFF". THEN VEHICLE BECOMES JUMPY. THEN A BURNING AND FUEL EXHAUST SMELL ENTERS THE CAB. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY 4-6 MONTHS. I PUT THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP LAST MONTH AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED.
MY CHEVY TRAVERSE STARTED MAKING RUBBING NOISES WHEN MAKING HARD TURNS JUST AFTER IT HIT 60,000 MILES (AND HAD ITS BIG MAINTENANCE WHICH FLUSHED THE POWER STEERING FLUID). WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP I WAS TOLD THAT ALL OF THE STEERING COMPONENTS NEEDED REPLACED (POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK, GEAR, NEW FLUID) AND THEN THE CAR WOULD NEED AN ALIGNMENT (ALSO JUST HAD ONE WITH THE LAST SERVICE). WITH A "DISCOUNT" AT THE DEALERSHIP, THIS COST ME $2,428!!! I READ THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN RECALLED, SO IT COMES OUT OF MY POCKET TO REPLACE FAULTY PARTS THAT WERE USED IN MY VEHICLE. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY OFFERED ME TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE PARTS (USED THE SAME FAULTY PARTS?) THAT WITH MY MILEAGE WILL LAST MAYBE THREE YEARS.

WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE THERE IS NO SOUND IN THE TRAVERSE. NO MUSIC, BACK UP WANING, OR TURN SIGNAL NOISE. THE CARE HAS TO WARM UP TO MAKE SOUND.
I WAS DRIVING 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE (WITH MY 4 CHILDREN IN TOW) MY CEL, SERVICE STABILITRAC AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHTS CAME ON. MY SPEED WAS REDUCED TO AROUND 45MPH. I HAD TWO SEMIS BEHIND ME, THE ONE DIRECTLY BEHIND ME HAD TO GET OVER VERY QUICKLY TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND TOOK THE NEXT EXIT APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES AHEAD. ONCE OFF THE INTERSTATE I SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE, WAITED TWO MINUTES THEN RESTARTED, LIGHTS AND MESSAGES STILL ON. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE BUT COULD ONLY GO AROUND 45MPH WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT WANTING TO GO. I PARKED IT AT WORK THEN AT LUNCH I DROVE IT ON CITY STREETS AT 35MPH. I PARKED IT AGAIN AT MY WORK. WHEN I GOT OFF I STARTED THE CAR AND STARTED DRIVING, NO LIGHTS OR MESSAGES. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE TO THE INTERSTATE ON MY WAY HOME. WHEN MY VEHICLE HIT 60MPH THE SAME THING HAPPENED, LUCKILY NO VEHICLES BEHIND ME. I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND DRIVE 45MPH THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR A FEW DAYS. AFTER STARTING AGAIN THE SAME LIGHTS AND MESSAGES APPEARED. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. I CONTACTED CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD MY VIN/YEAR WAS NOT PART OF THE ISSUE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO KNOWING THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WAS ONE OF THE SCARIEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V151000 (VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO OTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND THE DEALER. THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING RESULTS WERE ALL THE SAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON EXAMINING THE CAR I FOUND POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKING FROM THE STEERING GEAR. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING GEAR AND FRONT STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

HAVING THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS BEEN FOUND AFTER READING MANY POST ON THIS TYPE MALFUCTION RELATED TO THIS MODEL VEHICLE I AM NOT FEELING TOO HOPEFUL AT THIS TIME WILL FOLLOW UP ONCE DEALERSHIP CALLS ME.

THE CAR'S ENGINE SOUNDS TOO LOUD. I BOUGHT THE CAR LATE DECEMBER 2015 AND I TOLD THE SERVCE ADVISOR THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE WIRING BECAUSE THE LIGHT BULB NEEDED TO CHANGE, SOUNDS FROM SPEAKERS WOULD BOUNCE OFF FROM ONE SPEAKER TO ANOTHER, THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO BACK UP, AND ENGINE WAS LOUDER THAN USUAL. TWO WEEKS AGO, WHILE I WAS ON I-95 WITH MY KIDS, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SLOWED DOWN ON ME, TRACTION CONTROL AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF, THE CAR STATED ENGINE POWER SLOWED AND STABITALK LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TERRIFIED. I'M ALREADY A VICTIM OF MILE DISCREPANCY AND POOR PROFESSIONALISM FROM THE GM FROM AUTONATION CHEVROLET DELRAY AND I'M STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE. I TOOK MY CAR THERE A TIME BACK IN MAY BECAUSE MY ENGINE WAS SHAKING, I WAS TOLD THEY FIXED MY ENGINE BUT THE CAR WAS STILL SHAKING AFTERWARDS. ALSO THE SEATBELT FOR THE MIDDLE SEAT OF THE SECOND ROW, WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. I WENT TO AUTONATION TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE, THEY CLAIMED IT DOESN'T HAVE ENGINE ISSUES EVEN THOUGH THEY DID NOT GIVE ME A COPY OF THE RESULTS OF THE WHOLE DIAGONOSIS.
63,000 MILES POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION REPLACED AS HAD LEAK. WAS TOLD BY CHEVY DEALER THIS WOULD BE $1700 TO REPAIR. WENT TO LOCAL AUTO SHOP AND HAD REPLACED FOR $1300. 2WKS LATER THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED WHILE DRIVING WITH DIFFICULTY TO STEER. LOCAL AUTO SHOP REFERRED US TO CHEVY DEALER AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND SUGGESTED WE ASK FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. CONTACTED CHEVY DEALER WAS TOLD POWER STEERING UP WOULD BE $1300 TO REPAIR, REQUESTED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BEING THIS A KNOWN ISSUE. CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE FILED CLAIM, WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET 10% OFF COST OF REPLACEMENT OF POWER STEERING PUMP AT CHEVY DEALER. CHEVY DEALER DECLINED MY REQUEST TO CONTACT THE DISTRICT REP CONCERNING THIS MATTER AND ALSO CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THIS IS ALL THEY COULD DO FOR US. CONSIDERING THE CHEVY TRAVERSE MADE 2011 ARE PART OF A STEERING RECALL, I WOULD LIKE CHEVROLET TO ADD THE 2012 MODEL TO THIS RECALL FOR SAFETY REASONS AND ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MODEL NOTED ON THE INTERNET. I WAS DRIVING IN THE VEHICLE WITH MY GRANDMOTHER WHO TURNED 94 YRS OLD THAT SAME DAY. I HAVE 3 YOUNG CHILDREN UNDER 5YEARS OLD WHO HAD DRIVEN IN THIS VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS THAT CHEVROLET IS WAITING FOR A CATASTROPHIC EVENT WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE THEY RECALL THE STEERING ISSUES FOR 2012 CHEVY TRAVERSE.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT COMES UNDONE WHILE DRIVING. IT DOESN'T STAY BUCKLED. WE HAVE USED AN AIR COMPRESSOR HOSE TO BLOW ANY DEBRIS OUT THAT MAY HAVE FALLEN DOWN INTO THE BUCKLE BUT IT STILL DOESN'T STAY LATCHED.
