The rear Sun/Moon Roof on my 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ (FWD) exploded while driving on the highway in Houston, Texas on [XXX]. VEHICLE IS REGISTERED IN MONTANA, ONE OF THE STATES LISTED IN RECALL #12V151000, RE: WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECOMING INOPERABLE IN COLD WEATHER. CHECK SHOWS MY VEHICLE IS NOT SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL, BUT MY PROBLEM MATCHES IT EXACTLY. CONDITIONS, -12DEG AND LIGHT SNOW. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IDLING ABOUT 10 MIN WITH DEFROSTER ON. I BRUSHED OFF WINDSHIELD AND CLEARED COME ICE THAT HAD COLLECTED ON THE WIPER BLADES AND AT THE BASE OF THE WIPER ARMS. WHEN I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND TURNED ON THE WIPERS, THE ARMS WOULD NOT MOVE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED 6 MONTHS AGO, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. I BELIEVE THE ONLY PRIOR OWNER WAS ALSO IN MONTANA.
WIPERS WILL ONLY WORK ON HIGH. THEE IS NO LOW OR INTERMEDIATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIPER ARM NUT LOOSENED AND PREVENTED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FROM OPERATING NORMALLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TIGHTEN THE WIPER ARM NUT, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V151000 (VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, MILEAGE 57,993. WHILE DRIVING DURING A SNOW STORM I WENT TO TURN THE FRONT WIPERS ON. THE WIPERS ACTIVATED, BUT IMMEDIATELY STOPPED HALF WAY UP THE WINDOW. THE FRONT WIPERS BECAME TOTALLY INOPERABLE AT THIS TIME AND NOW NO LONGER FUNCTION. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ITS PLACE OF PURCHASE AND MECHANIC STATED BOTH THE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I TRIED TO REFERENCE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM NUTS RECALL DATED APRIL 9, 2012: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V151000, GM SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 12036, BUT NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR GM'S CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS RECALL APPLIED TO MY 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THIS RECALL SOUNDS LIKE THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT LED TO THE FAILURE OF MY WIPER SYSTEM.

2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. CONSUMER STATES SEVERAL ISSUES WITH VEHICLE TO INCLUDE WINDOWS AND SEAT ISSUES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED IF THE MIDDLE ROW PASSENGER WINDOWS WERE PARTIALLY ROLLED DOWN, THEY WOULD VIBRATE AND MAKE A HORRIBLE NOISE ASH SHE ACCELERATED AND EXCEEDED 30 MPH. THE PANEL BETWEEN EACH OF THE SIDE AND REAR WINDOWS WAS EXTREMELY LARGE AND PROVIDED A MAJOR BLIND SPOT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE PARTICULARLY WHEN BACKING UP OR CHANGING LANES. THE CONSUMER ADDED SMALL MIRRORS TO ASSIST WITH THE VISIBILITY. BOTH FRONT SEAT SQUEAKED OR CREAKED WHEN THEY WERE OCCUPIED. *JB
