The airbags in my vehicle were recalled in May 2023 for having safety issues that could cause injury or death to the drivers. This is my daughter's vehicle and she is now unable to drive it. We need to remedy this situation immediately.
While driving, check engine light went on, stabilitrack and traction control went off (information from Driver Information Center) and power was reduced. This occurred several times a week and vehicle slowed down dramatically and had to be driven slowly from the roadway. This was a dangerous situation. After safely stopping, I was able to resume travel after turning off engine and restarting, although check engine light would remain on for several on/off cycles. Engine stored code P1682. This has also happened while at a stop and when the accelerator was pressed, the vehicle would stall (sometimes in middle of intersection).

Airbag is part of a safety recall and has been so for over a year, no remedy available and there is risk of death. this is completely unacceptable. The company should be responsible for a replacement vehicle, cost of a rental until remedy is available, or fix the issue immediately.

Chevy still hasn't come up with a solution for airbag. I'm driving essentially a gun if I wreck.
In summer of 2023, I received a recall letter regarding my 2014 Chevy Traverse involving the air bag. The recall states, “An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.” Essentially a bomb could be going off in my car if my air bag were to deploy. I have awaited a resolution to this recall for what I feel is a reasonable amount of time for the manufacturer to provide a solution given that my car is essentially a ticking time bomb. I fear for the safety of myself and my family. I would like the NHTSA to look into this matter and find out why such a dangerous situation has yet to be remedied. Otherwise I may have to seek out legal council, hopefully prior to any devastating consequences.

It has been 9 months since I received a letter notifying me of this potentially fatal issue with my car and a repair is still not available. I am furious that it is taking so long and there need to be legal repercussions for the manufacturer taking this much time to procure a replacement. My car is not safe to drive; I do not feel safe driving my car. I am not getting what I paid for. NHTSA needs to put immense pressure on these manufacturers to hurry up and get a repair for these vehicles so people are not risking their lives driving their car everyday! What is the point of this organization if you have no legal right to demand recalls be repaired in a timely manner?!
I noticed an warning indicator on my vehicle that says SERVICE AIR BAG. I received a recall notice from GM, stating that my car has a recall that needs to be serviced. I called my local GM Service Dealer, and they informed me that this recall "does not have a remedy yet" and they are not able to fix it for me. I looked online to see what the severity is. Safety Risk Description: An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. This is very disturbing to me and makes me uneasy to continue driving my vehicle.

Service Airbag message came on along with airbag warning light. Problem is with connectors under the front driver seat that come apart when the seat moves forward and back. This was a recall on previous models, but not this one. It’s the same exact issue. Also, no remedy for steering wheel airbag that could shoot deadly metal shards into your face. This is deplorable.
The recall issue has not been fixed in almost 8 months& when I checked with the Chevrolet customer assistance center I talked to Tom & he said they still have no idea when they may have the parts, I feel this is inexcusable and should have been fixed long before this!!

- Engine locked up and does not turn at all - Engine failed while our son was driving on the hwy to school and the car stalled. He was not able to turn the steering wheel and the gas peddle would not work. Luckily he knew to get off the road right away. - Gustmans Chevrolet in Kaukauna, WI confirmed this problem. After doing research and talking with the dealership. They said they are finding this is a common issue in the 2012-2014 Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclaves, and Acadias. - Just the dealership as of now - The check engine light went on and then went off the day before. No other message in the vehicle popped up. - The sad part is most of these vehicles are still in good shape and well taken care of. To be told we can only get $500 for this vehicle is just wrong. These vehicle engines should last longer than 9-10 years, Especially when we have done all the other maintenance on our vehicle.

My airbag light has now come on and flashes and dings every time the car comes on
The front airbags have to be replaced there is no replacement part available. My right left blinkers do not always work If airbags can't be fixed then I want them turned off, I would rather risk injury the old fashion way before airbags then to be harmed by metal

In Sept 2022 my airbag light came on and dealer charged me $1,200 for a senor issue to fix, then in December 2022 it came on again they said it was a different issue related to vehicle safety and charged me for part. Then in June 2023 i received the recall notice for my airbag - I've tried multiple times to see when this can be fixed hopefully prior to shards of metal impaling me - told parts not available. In October 2023 the airbag light came on again and this time they said it was the seatbelt anchor and want to charge me $487. It appears they need to figure out a priority to fix what can harm people - if they have parts to make new cars. also it is obvious this vehicle has safety issues making money for dealer and costly both time and money (dealer doesn't offer loaners). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
