TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS AND REAR EXTERIOR LIGHTING RETAINED WATER EACH TIME IT RAINED BETWEEN THE BODY AND BULBS. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE WATER INSIDE THE LIGHT BULBS COULD CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BELLAVIA CHEVROLET BUICK (199 NJ-17, EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ 07073, (201) 355-2885) WHERE THE LIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED BEFORE THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,351.
THE LOW BEAM/DRIVING LIGHTS STOP WORKING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. THIS OCCURS ALTERNATELY AND INTERMITTENTLY. THIS ISSUE CAUSES PROBLEMS WITH VISIBILITY FOR DRIVER AND OTHERS.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT IN APRIL 2017, MAY 2017 DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. VEHICLE IS ONLY TWO (2) YEAR OLD AND THE HEAD LIGHTS SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY TWO YEARS. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AFTER RETURNING TO TRUCK FOUR HOURS LATER. WHENEVER I ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND RIDE BECAME UNSTABLE.
PLEASE ENACT LAWS THAT PROHIBIT REVERSE LIGHTS FROM ILLUMINATING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN REVERSE! THE REVERSE LIGHTS ARE TO LET OTHER DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS KNOW THAT THE CAR IS IN THE REVERSE GEAR AND MAY BACK UP. FOR SOME REASON GM VEHICLES USE REVERSE LIGHTS WHEN IN PARK, CONFUSING EVERYONE ABOUND THE CAR.
