We have contacted the chevrolet dealer which was Knippelmier Chevrolet of Blanchard Oklahoma about the air bag recall and they keep telling us the part to repair the recall is unavailable. This started in July of 2023... At the end of July 2023 the service airbag light was coming on and off and blinking. We have tried to call other dealerships but we get the same answer. We have also stopped driving the car as much as possible. But this is how my wife gets to and from work. This recall has gone long enough without repair for something this serious... Please let us know how to move forward... Thank you..
For the already known air bag recall for my vehicle, I have called GM and clearly stated how uncomfortable and unsafe I feel driving my vehicle with such a dangerous malfunction that is meant to save my life, not take it. They told me there was no way they could help, but for me to be patient. I live in a bumpy and windy area, and from other reports, I know can set off the airbags. As for the automatic braking system, we were driving on the freeway with no vehicles or objects in front or even beside us when the system kicked in with the red light and alarm sound while braking immediately and even had my steering wheel lock up. I was able to regain control a minute later, but we were close to a curve in the road that I may have not been able to turn with my steering wheel locked up, as well as a vehicle behind me having to hit their own brakes and quickly change lanes due to our vehicle suddenly braking. I have been to a dealership for diagnosing but they told me they could find nothing out of ordinary. Given I did not trust these mechanics as they have lied before to get money from us and have missed other problems that were easily diagnosed at another mechanic we have seen. Our small town only has few choices of mechanics or dealerships.

I am extremely uncomfortable continuing to drive my vehicle knowing there is a recall on the airbag that may cause extreme harm to passengers and there is no solution. I cannot drive my vehicle knowing the safety features that I assumed are in place are lacking. I am uncomfortable with GMs lack of solution at this point. What are my options?

There is a recall for our this vehicle that was initiated in May because our airbag inflator may explode causing death or serious injury. We have yet to be provided with a fix, and have been denied a loaner vehicle because the dealerships don't want to part with their limited # of loaners for an undetermined amount of time. We are being told to continue driving around ourselves and our young children and one dealership told us "you probably wouldn't die". This is alarming that they are not providing an immediate fix, even at greater cost to the company, and are rolling the dice on safety.
Spouse is scared to death to drive this vehicle because of the death possibility. Deal can not do repairs without parts. GM doesn't have the replacement parts. Dealer will not issue a loan car during the waiting for part process. No one can tell me an approximate repair date. So i have a time bomb air bag sitting in my garage not being driven. What's my options?

driver's air bag module - An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. The vehicle has been acknowledged by Chevrolet to be one of the vehicles affected by the recall, but they do not have any replacements and they do not know if or when any replacements will be available.

Passenger side mirror blind spot detection started flickering and then remained on while the vehicle is in park and in motion. Shortly afterwards it stopped working all together and began receiving a service side detection warning light on dashboard. While backing up the camera still working but there is no sensor working that detects close people or vehicles. Extremely dangerous for little kids that almost ran behind vehicle. While driving down the highway, I was almost involved in accidents while attempting to make a lane change and did not see vehicle in next lane as it was in blindspot. Issue seems to be very wide spread with this model. A service bulletin was issued for Acadia (same design as the Traverse) for same detection warning. GM dealership reported that the issue is also common which is why the parts needed for repair are on a backorder status with no ETA. NHTSA needs to take action.
I have contacted GM several times and they refuse to even loan me a rental I don't feel safe in my car and it's not right there's no remedy!

We were sent an "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" stating that "the front-driver airbag may contain a defect" that could result in "injury or death" . This recall was sent in June and they have no fix and are not supplying courtesy cars.
