TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET TRAX. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREY CHEVROLET (4949 SW HOVDE RD, PORT ORCHARD, WA 98367, (360) 329-2916) WHERE NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND. THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ON NOVEMBER 22, 2017. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 14, 2017 WHERE I HIT A DOG AND MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT I HIT A DOG AND IT CAUSED THIS DAMAGE. I CONTACTED GM TO SEE IF THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE UNLESS MY INSURANCE CONTACTED THEM AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME TO READ MY MANUAL ON SEATBELTS WHEN I LET THEM KNOW THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY THAT THIS CAR IS UNSAFE IF IT CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM HITTING A DOG AND THEY DOG WAS NOT LARGE AT ALL. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ID CONSIDERING THIS VEHICLE
IN COLD WEATHER DRIVING, 2017 CHEVY TRAX WILL THROW A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT 20 MINUTES AFTER STARTUP, WHICH SHUTS DOWN THE VEHICLES ABILITY TO MAINTAIN SPEED. THIS HAPPENS IN TOWN AND ON THE HIGHWAY. CODE SAYS TURBO FREEZING. THE VEHICLE WILL GO MAX 40MPH UPHILL ON THE HIGHWAY AND MAX 60MPH ON FLAT OR DOWNHILL HIGHWAY. HAVE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE CARS ARE COMING FROM BEHIND VERY FAST IN SNOWY CONDITIONS WHEN VEHICLE WILL NOT MAINTAIN SPEED. THE VEHICLE CANNOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP EITHER. VERY SCARY. IN TOWN DRIVING IS ALMOST NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT GETTING RUN INTO BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET OUT OF THE WAY. WE HAVE 10 OF THESE VEHICLES AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME. CHEVY DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE A FIX, BUT CANNOT GETS PARTS TO FIX. ITS BEEN 4 MONTHS OF THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH NO HELP FROM CHEVY. I AM FED UP.
THIS CAR IS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS SINCE MONTHS OF ME BUYING IT FRUSTRATED JUST BEACAUSE HAVE TO BE ALOT IN THE DEALER AND LONG HOURS WAITING
MY RADIO STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID THE AMPLIFIER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT GOT WET FROM WATER THAT HAD POOLED IN THE WHEEL WELL DUE TO A LEAK. THEY TOOK THE CAR TO SS AUTO BODY AND THEY FOUND MULTIPLE LEAKS AND HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 24 DAYS TRYING TO IDENTIFY THEM ALL.
I BOUGHT IT 2017 AFTER A MONTH MY COMPUTER BOX IS BROKEN I'M LUCKY BECAUSE IT'S UNDER WARRANTY. EVERY YEAR IN MY DASH BOARD IT ALWAYS SHOW UP CHECK SERVICES. NOW MY CAR IS CHECK ENGINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 CHEVROLET TRAX. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN THE RED LIGHT. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND HEAD THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-302-0913391. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600. UPDATED 08/08/17*LJ *CN
THE VEHICLE'S SHIFTER CONSOLE DOES NOT ILLUMINATE AT NIGHT, LEAVING ONE TO GUESS WHAT FUNCTION THEY ARE IN (PARK, REVERSE, DRIVE). A VERY TINY NOTIFICATION IS ON THE ELECTRONIC DASHBOARD, BUT IF THAT FAILS, THEN THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING WHAT FUNCTION THE VEHICLE IS IN. CHEVY SAYS THAT THE FEATURE IS STANDARD, YET ADMITTED THAT THEY LEFT OUT OF SOME 2017 TRAX VEHICLES. THE SHIFTER CONSOLE DOES NOT ILLUMINATE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOUR HEADLIGHTS ARE ON OR OFF. CHEVY HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND INFORMED THAT IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX THE DEFECT.
