DASHBOARD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES HAYWIRE AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT DISABLE/TURN OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXTERIOR SIDE VIEW MIRRORS ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE REFLECTED THE CHROME THAT OUTLINES THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REFLECTION MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE MIRRORS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED AUTO THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD OCCASIONALLY COME ON. AFTER A NUMBER OF VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS GOING UP OR DOWN HILL THE BRAKE FLUID WOULD BE OFF THE SENSOR AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE OR RECOMMENDED EVEN AFTER I PUSHED THE ISSUE. MY ISSUE IS WHEN DO I KNOW IT IS JUST A FLUID LEVEL PROBLEM OR SOME OTHER BRAKE PROBLEM THAT WOULD TRIGGER THE LIGHT TO COME ON. THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I HAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THEN A SHORT TIME LATER MY ABS LIGHT COME ONE. MY CAR LOST POWER AND EVEN THOUGH YOU PRESS GAS PEDAL THE ENGINE DECELERATES LIKE IT IS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO SUPER LOW GEAR BUT NOT SENDING ANY POWER TO TRANSMISSION WHICH ACTS LIKE IT IS TOTALLY SLIPPING (IT IS ELECTRONIC TOO)! I ALMOST GOT HIT 4 TIMES BEFORE GETTING TO SIDE OF ROAD. I SHUT IT DOWN. IT THEN RE-STARTED AFTER 5 MINUTES AND RAN FINE FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING THE CYCLE AGAIN BUT LUCKILY I WAS ON THE BACK STREETS AND NOT THE HIGHWAY. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HIP AND FOOT INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
THE TIRE SENSOR (TPMS LIGHT) FOR MY PASSENGER SIDE, REAR TIRE ALWAYS SAYS THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW AS WELL. IT WILL SAY THE TIRE IS LOW, AND IT'S ALWAYS ONLY THIS TIRE. I CHECK THE PRESSURE WITH A HAND GAUGE AND ALL IS FINE. THIS VEHICLE OBVIOUSLY HAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I HAVE HAD MULITIPULE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR IN THE 19 MONTHS I HAVE HAD IT!
WHEN WE WERE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT, WE WERE GOING INTERSTATE SPEED IN NEBRASKA AT 80 MPH, WE HIT A LARGE ROAD SIGN THAT TOTALED OUR VEHICLE. OUR AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I HAVE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. ALSO MY CAR IS AT PERFORMANCE AUTO BODY SHOP IN LINCOLN NEBRASKA AND THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED WHEN THE AUTO BODY SHOP RECEIVED THE VEHICLE.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND WAS REAR ENDED,SPEED LIMIT WAS 35 MPH HE DID NOT EVEN TRY TO STOP.HEAD RESTRAINTS DEPLOYED AND HIT ME CAUSING INJURY AS WELL AS ANXIETY.
AN ELECTRICAL FIRE SEVERELY DAMAGED MY VEHICLE. THE FIRE STARTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE NO ACCESSORIES WERE PLUGGED IN TO THE 12V POWER PORT. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY ACCESSORIES THAT WERE BEING USED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WERE THE A/C AND THE RADIO. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY A HOMEOWNER, BUT THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS. THE CAR IS STILL COVERED UNDER THE FULL MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY, BUT AT THIS POINT I AM BEING TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A WARRANTY ISSUE BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT PROVE THAT THE FIRE WASN'T STARTED BY A DEVICE PLUGGED INTO THE 12V POWER PORT.
THE BRAKES MAKE A LOT OF NOISE AS IF THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF WEAR BUT THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID ALL OF CHRYSLER'S 200 HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. ...UPDATED 09/22/15 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE BEING OPERATED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY STARTING. FURTHERMORE, THE AIR BAG AND SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. CLOVIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (395 WEST HERNDON AVE, CLOVIS, CA) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE NOTICED THE HOOD PARTIALLY UP AFTER PARKING THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS AND I HAVE NOT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD DURING THAT TIME. I SUSPECT THAT THE HOOD LATCH MAY BE FAULTY.

THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE ABOUT WHAT PART NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,900.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE HOOD SUDDENLY RELEASED WITHOUT WARNING STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. THE ONLY DAMAGE TO THE CAR WAS THE HOOD. CAR WAS RENTED FROM ENTERPRISE.
AT ABOUT 18,000 MILES, A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL SUDDENLY FORMED UNDERNEATH MY CAR ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AS THE ENGINE OIL COOLER/HOUSING MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. THE SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. THE EXACT SOURCE OF THE LEAK WAS NOT IDENTIFIED, BUT REPLACING THE UNIT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES OTHERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR PENTASTAR ENGINES (CHRYSLER, JEEP, AND DODGE VEHICLES). A VIDEO DESCRIBING THE UNIT AND ITS POSSIBLE FAILURE MECHANISMS CAN BE FOUND AT: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=JJGNEI1HMNY THE DEALER ASKED IF AN INCORRECT FILTER HAD BEEN INSERTED INTO THE UNIT. HOWEVER, THE DEALER HAD DONE ALL BUT ONE FILTER REPLACEMENT, AND THE ONE FILTER THAT WAS NOT REPLACED BY THEM WAS INDEED THE CORRECT FILTER BECAUSE IT WAS STILL IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME THE DEALER DID THE REPLACEMENT. THE UNIT REPLACEMENT COST WAS ESTIMATED AT $340, BUT LOCATION OF THE REPAIR MEANS THAT IT TAKES AN EXPERIENCED MECHANIC ABOUT 3 HOURS TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. ALTHOUGH THE REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT CONCERNS ME THAT SUCH A FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENT WOULD BREAK AFTER ONLY 18K MILES AND REQUIRES SUCH AN EXTENSIVE REPAIR EFFORT.
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN MARCH 2014 WITH ONLY A FEW MILES ON IT. I HAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON MANY TIMES AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS MY GAS CAP. WELL AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF THIS I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WOULD LOSE POWER AND ALTHOUGH I WOULD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR MY CAR CONTINUED TO DECLINE IN SPEED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THIS HAPPENS AND IT WILL LAST A FEW MIN TO A FEW DAYS. I WAS TOLD WELL THAT?S ODD YOU DON'T HAVE ANY RECALLS OR ANY COMPLAINTS ON YOUR CAR. I EVEN ASKED THEM ABOUT A REPLACEMENT PART THAT I CAME ACROSS THAT WAS DONE TO MY ARE RIGHT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO RECORD. SURE IS FUNNY THEY DID THE REPLACEMENT ON IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE HAD MY CAR OVER YEAR AND I CAN'T GET ANY ANSWERS ON THIS ISSUE. IT?S SUPER DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM GOING OVER 50 MPG. .....UPDATED 09/22/15 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE FAILED TO REMAIN IN POSITION AND VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE CONTACT HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE EXCESSIVELY TO KEEP IT IN POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHERE IT WAS EVENTUALLY DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH FRONT MOTOR MOUNTS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 CHRYSLER 200 TO DROP MY FATHER BACK HOME. MY MOTHER AND SISTER WERE ALSO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE.THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 10/29/2014 AS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP WITH 5846 MILES & PASSED INSPECTION ON 10/30/2014. I ASSUMED POSSESSION OF THE CAR ON 10/30/2014 AFTER IT PASSED INSPECTION. THE CAR HAD 8059 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE MY PURCHASE. I WAS QUITE STARTLED WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY & STARTED TO DECELERATE IN SPEED. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE FREEWAY WAS 70 MPH. ALTHOUGH I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DECREASE RAPIDLY. I REMEMBERED SEEING MY SPEED DROP AS LOW AS 19 MPH ON THE FREEWAY; A VERY SCARY THING. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKED UP, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR BATTERY LIGHTS INDICATING ANYTHING WAS WRONG. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS HURT & THERE WAS A REST STOP NEARBY THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO AND INTO A PARKING SPOT. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY POWERED OFF AS THE CAR MADE IT TO THE PARKING SPOT & WAS UNABLE TO RESTART AFTER THAT. THE ENGINE WAS CHECKED, BUT NOTHING WAS VISIBLY WRONG WITH THE CAR TO CAUSE THE CAR TO MALFUNCTION THE WAY IT DID. WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, MAYBE 45 MINUTES LATER FROM THE APPROXIMATE TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED, MY DAD MENTIONED THAT HE WAS COLD, SO I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AGAIN TO TURN THE HEATER ON. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. MY SISTER AND I DECIDED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE REST STOP PARKING LOT, AND TURNED IT OFF AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WOULD RESTART. IT RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEM AND DROVE LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. EVEN AFTER THE CAR RESTARTED, THERE WERE NOT ANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS SITUATION WAS VERY SCARY BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE CONSTANT SQUEALING OF THE BRAKES AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNING ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES OR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE BRAKES ARE SO LOUD AND NOISY THAT PEOPLE CAN HEAR MY CAR COMING FROM FAR OFF, THEY SOUND LIKE I OWN AN OLD BEAT-UP VEHICLE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED. THIS CAR IS BRAND NEW AND SHOULD NOT BE SO EMBARRASSINGLY LOUD EACH TIME I HIT THE BRAKES WHETHER IT'S AT A SLOW CREEP OR ON THE HIGHWAY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH IS ALSO VERY CONCERNING. AT FIRST THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD COME ON AT THE TOP OF ANY HILL OR INCLINE, LIKE AT THE TOP OF A RAMP TO ENTER THE FREEWAY. NOW, THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RANDOMLY COMES ON AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE DAY THE VEHICLE WILL TRY TO ENGAGE THE BRAKE ITSELF, OR THAT MY CAR WILL LOCK UP WHILE I AM DRIVING FAST DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS NEVER BEEN ENGAGED MANUALLY BY ME EXCEPT WHEN I PARK AT LOCATIONS WHERE I USE THE E-BRAKE AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND ESPECIALLY IF I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, I BEG TO DIFFER. THE TIRE SENSOR FOR MY PASSENGER SIDE, REAR TIRE ALWAYS SAYS THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW AS WELL. IT WILL SAY THE TIRE IS LOW ABOUT ONCE A MONTH, AND IT'S ALWAYS ONLY THIS TIRE. I CHECK THE PRESSURE WITH A HAND GAUGE AND ALL IS FINE. THIS VEHICLE OBVIOUSLY HAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THE BRAKES ARE JUST HORRID!! I WOULD LOVE TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE BUT UNFORTUNATELY WITH IT BEING SO NEW I AM FAR FROM BEING ABLE TO DO SO. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT CHRYSLER!!
DRIVING ON A WELL CLEARED INTERSTATE IN LIGHT SNOW CONDITIONS, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SWAYS BACK AND FORTH LIKE THERE IS NO TRACTION WHILE THE FRONT END HAS TRACTION AND TRIES TO MAINTAIN TRACTION. ONCE STABILIZED AND ONLY DRIVING 20-25MPH WHEN GOING OVER A BRIDGE OR UNDER AND OVERPASS, THE LITTLE BIT OF MOISTURE IN THOSE AREAS MAKES THE REAR OF THE CAR SLIDE SIDE TO SIDE. DRIVING OVER EXPANSION JOINTS IN THE HIGHWAY MAKES THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE JUMP TO THE RIGHT. DRIVING IS STABILIZED ON COMPLETELY DRY ROADS OR IN TOWN SNOWPACKED BUT TREATED ROADS. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON INTERSTATES IN EVEN THE MILDEST OF ANY TYPE OF ADVERSE WEATHER. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN OVER 25 MPH WITHOUT OUT THE REAR END SWAYING BACK AND FORTH. DURING THIS SITUATION ALL OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING AT OR NEAR POSTED HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT PROBLEM. *TR
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN AT STOP LIGHT . PROBLEM WAS HEAT SENSOR. TRANSMISSION WENT TWICE ON 3/10/2015 AND 3/19/2014 BOTH TIMES I WAS DRIVING WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER IN THE CAR AND DUE TO THE DECELERATION CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY TRUCK BEHIND ME. *TR

I DROVE AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR, CHRYSLER 200 SEDAN. I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 2-4 HOURS ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, GOOD ROAD. WHEN I GOT OUT I HAD A SHOOTING PAIN FROM THE MIDDLE OF MY LEFT BUTTOCKS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF MY LEFT LEG. I'VE NEVER HAD THIS SORT OF THING HAPPEN BEFORE. I TRIED TO FIGURE OUT IF IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE, BUT THE ONLY VARIABLE WAS SITTING IN THAT CAR SEAT. I AM A MID-FIFTIES WOMAN IN GOOD CONDITION. 5'7" TALL, 150 POUNDS. PRETTY AVERAGE. A CAR SEAT SHOULDN'T DO THIS TO A PERSON. THE CAR WAS AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR, BUT I RENTED THE CAR FROM ALAMO RENTAL IN THE QUAD CITIES ILLINOIS AIRPORT. THEY HAD TO BORROW A SEDAN FROM ENTERPRISE. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ON MY CONTRACT IS [XXX]. THE RENTAL RAN FROM OCT. 11-OCT. 13. THE CONTRACT SAYS THE VEHICLE HAD 1325 MILES ON IT WHEN I RENTED IT, AND 1864 WHEN I RETURNED IT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE THRUWAY IN UPSTATE NY, TWO DIFFERENT LIGHTS CAME ON AND A NOISE SOUND CAME ON ONE WAS A THERMOSTAT AND THE OTHER WAS AN H LOOKING LIGHT AND THEN MY VEHICLE SHUTDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD WENT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY COMPLETED AN OIL CHANGE AND STATED THAT I NEEDED NEW TIRES. I'VE NEVER HAD IN ISSUES IN THE THREE YEARS I'VE BEEN FINANCING THIS VEHICLE. I'M STILL UNDER CONTRACT AND I'M NOT ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATES IT WAS THE ENGINE WHICH WOULD RUN ME ABOUT $4800. AS AN MILITARY VETERAN I AM ON A SET INCOME AND I'M NOT ABLE TO AFFORD TO FIX THIS ISSUE. APPROACHING A TURNPIKE EXIT, THE ENGINE CUT OFF AND STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. YESTERDAY WHILE PARKED AND SUPPOSEDLY ENGINE TURNED OFF, WHEN I RETURNED I NOTED THE ENGINE STILL SEEMED TO BE RUNNING EVEN THOUGH I TURNED IT OFF. I NOTED WHEN READING ABOUT THE NEW GENERAL MOTORS RECALLS, I.E. CHEVROLET, IF THIS HAPPENS TURN THE ENGINE ON AND THEN OFF. THIS DID WORK AND THE ENGINE DEFINITELY TURNED OFF. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2014 CHRYSLER 200 3.6 THIS YEAR I NOTICED PROBLEMS. WHEN DRIVING IN SPEEDS OF 10-35MPH IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY JERK/LUNGE WHILE SHIFTING INTO GEAR. I WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN OFTEN OR ALL THE TIME. THEN THIS WEEK BEFORE WE LEFT FOR VACATION WE HAD THE DEALERSHIP CHANGE THE OIL AND CHECK ALL THE FLUID LEVELS. I HAVE 8400 MILES ON MY CAR. WHILE ON VACATION WE WERE DOING A LOT MORE STOP AND GO DRIVING. THE JERKING AND LUNGING WAS HAPPENING AGAIN, AND THEN OUR ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE ARE OUT OF STATE AND NOW HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS. THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE OTHERWISE, THE OIL LEVEL IS GOOD AND THE GAS CAP IS ON. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. HOWEVER, SOUNDS LIKE THIS JERKING/ LUNGE ISSUE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND THERE HAS BEEN NO FIX YET! GREAT! *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT BELT HAS SOME ISSUES WITH BUCKLING. ULTIMATELY, IT DOES BUCKLE BUT IT IS NOT SECURE. THERE HAS BEEN INSTANCES WHERE IT UNBUCKLED BECAUSE OF A BODY MOVEMENT. IN ORDER TO BUCKLE IT I HAVE TO INSERT THE BELT INTO THE BUCKLE AT LEAST 5-6 TIMES, AND EVEN THEN I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS ENTIRELY SECURE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME. *TR

ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY ACCELERATED TO 100 MPH. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,783.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2014 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH, THE CONTACT MOVED HER LEG AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. BRAND NEW 2014, CHRYSLER 200 HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE HAS SURFACE RUST ON REAR DRIVER SIDE QUARTER PANEL WHERE IT MEETS BRAKE LIGHT, SURFACE RUST ON EDGE OF TRUNK DECK, RUSTED BOLTS INSIDE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR HINGES, CONVERTIBLE TOP LEAK AT DRIVERS LEFT CORNER OF INTERIOR. CONDENSATION APPEARS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT OPTIONS AS TO CONTROL IT USING THE DEFROST. NOTHING WORKS. WHEN I USE THE WIPERS IT JUST SMEARS THE "FOG" ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE EXAMPLE IT HAPPENED AT NIGHT AFTER MY SON'S SOCCER PRACTICE WHERE I COULD HARDLY SEE OUT THE WINDOW. IT WAS 85 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I HAD DEFROST ON AND NOTHING WAS WORKING. I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND OF COURSE, THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE BRAKES MAKE A LOT OF NOISE AS IF THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF WEAR BUT THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ALWAYS SAY THE SAME THING: ALL OF CHRYSLER'S 200 HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THIS IS TERRIBLE BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW I'M COMING JUST BY THE NOISE.

AS I START TO SLOW DOWN MY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND A BELL RINGS. THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR ABOUT A HALF MILE AND SOMETIMES LONGER. *TR
THE CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 12/27/13. THE NEXT DAY, AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE DRIVER PUSHED THE GAS. AFTER PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR REPEATEDLY, THE CAR MOVED. THE DEALER SAID THE CAR WAS 1 1/2 QUARTS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID. SUBSEQUENTLY, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN OR TO LET ONCOMING TRAFFIC PASS, THE CAR HAS STALLED AS THE DRIVER PUSHED THE GAS THEN IT JUMPED INTO GEAR. ANOTHER TIME, THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO GEAR AS THE DRIVER SLOWED TO MAKE A TURN. WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION FILTERED WAS CRACKED AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUE. TOOK THE CAR IN FOR TEST DRIVING, WE INTEND TO LEAVE THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP TO BE TEST DRIVEN OVER TIME. THE PROBLEMS ARE NOT EVIDENT EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. ADDITIONALLY, TODAY SOME KNOCKING OCCURRED UNDER THE CAR WHEN THE BRAKES WERE PRESSED. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED SO IT COULD BE USED FOR HIGHWAY TRAVEL, BUT I AM FEARFUL OF DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IF IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR COULD BE REAR-ENDED. *TR
