TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE TO THE DRIVE POSITION, THE GEAR BECAME STUCK IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHUT OFF DUE TO THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BAYSHORE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5225 INTERSTATE 10 EAST, BAYTOWN, TX 77521), BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
DRIVING TO WORK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I GOT TWO ALERTS ON MY DASHBOARD SIGNALING ENGINE TEMPERATURE HOT AND TO SERVICE ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THE CARS PERFORMANCE AFTER THESE ALERTS WAS POOR AND IT WAS VERY LOUD. IT WAS STRUGGLING TO GET PAST 40MPH. TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND FOUND MY THERMOSTAT, THE HOUSING, AND SENSOR NEEDED REPLACING. ALSO FOUND OUT THE MEMORY OF THE CONTROLLER NEEDED TO GO BACK TO A DEALER TO BE ERASED AND RE PROGRAMMED WHICH IS NOT MY FAULT.
TAKATA RECALL MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. NO ONE IS NOT IN THE SEAT. I HAVE TO PUT THINGS IN MY SEAT IN ORDER FOR THE LIGHT TO NOT COME ON.
HAVE HAD VEHICLE APPROX 1 YR. WHILE DRIVING 45MPH ON CITY STREET CHECK ENGINE CAME ON WITH ENGINE OVERHEAT MSG AND ENGINE COOLING SENSOR AS WELL. REPLACED SENSOR AND WHILE DRIVING THE NEXT DAY ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH TO SEE IF THE SYSTEM READJUSTS ITSELF TO THE NEW SENSOR MESSAGE CAME ON AGAIN WITH ADDED SERVICE ELECRTRICAL THROTTLE CONTROL MSG AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS AGAIN. I WAS NEAR OREILL AND IT PRODUCED CODES FOR THERMOSTAT, COOLING SENSOR, SYSTEM PERFORMANCE, ETC. MESSAGES ARE NOT ON SCREEN NOW BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STILL ON. I BELIEVE IT TRIGGERS WHEN COOLING TEMP REACHES APPX, 189 F. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES AND SEEMS THE PROBLEM ESCALATES TO MUCH WORSE SUCH AS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. NO RECALLS THUS FAR BUT MANY PEOPLE ANTICIPATING SOMEONE NEEDING TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE. I DRIVE WITH MY CHILDREN ALMOST ALL OF THE TIME AND AM VERY CONCERNED.
AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND I HAVE TO SLOWLY STOPS AND WAIT THERE TO START THE CAR SOMETIMES I HAVE TO JUMP THE CAR IN ORDER TO START AND THEN ITS OK FOR SOME TIME.
I PURCHASED THE CAR ON SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2017, WITH APPROXIMATELY $42,000 MILLS. IN JANUARY 2018, I BEGAN HAVING SOME HEADLIGHTS, AIRBAGS, AND ENGINE LIGHTS ISSUES. I TOOK IT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP SERVICE TO GET A HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT, AN AIRBAG CHECK, AND ENGINE RESET. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE SAME ISSUES OCCUR WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT GOING ON AND OFF, AND THE HEADLIGHT BULB NEEDED ANOTHER REPLACEMENT. I ALSO BEGIN HAVING SOME "KEY FOB NOT DETECTED" ISSUE, EVEN IF I AM HOLDING THE KEY RIGHT NEXT TO THE PUSH START BUTTON. I CHANGED THE BATTERY ON THE KEY, BUT THE ISSUE PERSISTED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE KEY SYSTEM AND PROVIDE ME WITH A NEW KEY. BY THE END OF 2019, MY SCREEN WENT BLACK WHILE DRIVING AND CAME BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES. BY MARCH 2020, THE SCREEN SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START UNLESS BEEN PUT ON A NEW BATTERY OR AFTER SEVERAL JUMP-STARTS. IF I TURN OFF THE CAR AND TRY TO TURN IT BACK ON, MY BATTERY AND ENGINE LIGHT SIGNALS ARE ON, AND I NEED TO JUMP-START THE CAR AGAIN OR GET ANOTHER BATTERY. MY FIRST NEW BATTERY REPLACEMENT DID NOT LAST A MONTH
VEHICLE STALLS AND CUT-OFF WHENEVER I STOP ON THE HIGHWAY, STOP SIGNS OR PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN.

VEHICLE KEEPS OVERHEATING AND SHUTTING OFF BY ITSELF WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. FIRST I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT MALFUNCTIONING AND NOW A CONVERTER. THE CAR STALLS AND SHUTS OFF WITH THE INABILITY OF RESTARTING. STARTED HAPPENING FOUR MTHS AGO.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY COMING ON. THE REASON FOR THE LIGHT IS THE AIRBAG SWITCH UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. WHENEVER THE IS ON A BUMPY ROAD OR IT IS TAPPED BY SOMEONE'S FEET IN THE BACK SEAT THE LIGHT IS TRIPPED.
TAKATA RECALL. I GOT A LETTER COUPLE MONTHS AGO ABOUT A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS SAYING THAT THEY ARE DEFECTED AND THE COMPANY WHO PUT THEM IN ARE GOING BANKRUPT. SINCE I BEEN DRIVING THE CHRYSLER(2017) ITS HAS BEEN STALLING WHEN I DRIVE. WHEN I BROUGHT IT I ASKED ME MAN WAS THERE ANYTHING WRONG HE SAID NO. THERE IS STILL STALLING WHEN I DRIVE AS IF ITS SWITCHING GEARS(KINDA LIKE A STICK SHIFT) IT'S SCARY BECAUSE I HAVE KIDS AND PLACES I TAKE THE CAR TO IS SAYING ITS ITS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT. I'VE DROVE MANY CARS AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY AN I'M ON AUTO CRUISE IT SHIFTS FROM THE # I HAVE IT ON TO A HIGHER LEVEL THEN ONCE AGAIN IT'S LIKE IT WANTS TO STALLS AND KINDA JERKS. THAT'S NOT NORMAL AT ALL BECAUSE IF I'M ON AUTO CRUISE AT 65 MPH WHY WOULDNT OT JUST STAY THERE INSTEAD OF JUST TRYING TO SWITCH GEARS? EVERY DAY WHEN I LEAVE ITS JERKS WHEN I PULL OFF AS I'D IT'S A STICKS SHIFT. HAPPENS LITERALLY ALL THE TIME. I TOOK IT TO DIFFERENT SHOPS ONE SAYS IT'S A RECALL BUT OTHERS SAY IT'S NOTHING WRONG AND I CANT FIND ANYTHING ON WHO I'M SUPPOSE TO TALK TO AND REALLY GET THIS LOOKED AT
ON DECEMBER 31, 2017 MY WIFE AND I WERE ON OUR WAY HOMEFROM CHURCH WHEN THE SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON. WE READ THE OWNERS MANUAL, NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING CAUSE OF THE HOLIDAYS. ON JANUARY 2, 2018 I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER NEAR ME AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. LATER THAT DAY THE SERVICE MAN CALLED AND SAID IT WAS THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SEAT AND A SHORT WIRE HARNESS, THE COST WOULD BE ABOUT $800.00 WHICH I SPENT $127.00 TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. I DID NOT HAVE IT REPAIRED BECAUSE I FEEL THIS IS A CHRYSLER PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME OUR AIR BAGS DON'T WORK. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. THIS DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF SERVICE CALLS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. I ALSO CALLED TWO OTHER DEALER, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY ALL STOCK REPLACEMENT PARTS SO THIS MUST BE AN A SERIOUS ISSUE. THE DEALER CALLED OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY CO. AND IT WAS NOT COVERED. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND NEVER GOT A RETURN CALL AFTER SHE HUNG UP ON ME. SO AT THIS TIME THIS IS WHY I AM WRITING YOU. *JS
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR SEIZES. IT HAPPENED AT 3,500 MILES (DEALERSHIP STATED BLOWN FUSE) AND AGAIN AT 12,500 MILES. I AM DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPS AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP. IT IS A SUDDEN STOP AND WILL CAUSE A CRASH AND INJURIES. I WILL NOT GET BACK INTO THAT CAR! BOTH TIMES, IT WAS AT 25 MILES PER HOUR, JUST STARTING BACK AFTER A STOP SIGN.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHEN I AM DRIVING, THE CAR WILL SHUT ITSELF OFF AND GIVE ME A MESSAGE SAYING THAT THE FOBS HAVE LEFT THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY HAVEN'T. AT TIMES, I ALSO GET A MESSAGE TELLING ME THE KEY FOB WAS NOT DETECTED WHEN TRYING TO GET IN AND/OR START THE CAR. THE FOBS BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND A LOCAL DEALER CANNOT FIND/DUPLICATE THE ISSUE.
A FEW DAYS AGO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL IT WAS NOT SERIOUS BUT IF CONTINUED, TO HAVE THE CODE CHECKED. I HAD NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO, BUT ALL SEEMED TO BE RUNNING NORMALLY. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY LAST NIGHT AND THE THERMOSTAT LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID SOMETHING REGARDING THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE CAME ACROSS THE MESSAGES. I DROVE TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION AND CHECKED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD, AND THE ENGINE SEEMED FINE...NOT VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH SO I DECIDED TO TRY AND TAKE IT TO PEP BOYS TO HAVE THEM CHECK IT. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, THE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED AND THE MESSAGE WAS GONE, HOWEVER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. THE PEP BOYS TECHNICIAN CHECKED THE CODE, THE CODE THAT WAS READ WAS P0128. I SPOKE WITH THE TECHNICIAN AND HE HAD SAID HE HAD SEEN A LOT OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE 200 MODELS AND ADVISED ME TO CHECK THE RECALL...WHICH DOES NOT HAVE MY VEHICLE FOR ANY.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. I TOOK IT TO BE WORKED TWICE, AND ALWAYS COME BACK ON.
I NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR WAS GETTING WET, I PULLED UP THE CARPET AND NOTICED POOLED WATER. I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. THEY RAN WATER OVER VEHICLE AND WATER CONTINUED TO POOL ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR. DEALER THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE DRAINAGE ISSUES OR HEATER CORE. NEITHER WAS CORRECT. I WAS TOLD THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH SEAMS AND WELDS COMING APART BUT DEALER NOT RESPONSIBLE SINCE VEHICLE AT 36992 MILES. THERE IS A TSB AND STAR CASE OPEN ON ISSUE. STAR CASE NUMBER IS S1623000004. RELEASE DATE FOR THIS CASE IS 11/14/2017. THE TSB IS FOR CHRYSLER 200'S FOR '15-'16 MODEL YEAR SOLD IN NAFTA AND APAC MARKETS BUILT ON OR BEFORE JULY 5, 2016. THE TSB WAS DATED SEPTEMBER 27, 2016. THE NUMBER IS 23-045-16.
THE CAR WOULDN'T START AND THEN IT DISABLED ITSELF. FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT STARTED, IT'S STARTED FLASHING THROUGH OUT THE DASH ABOUT THE KEY-FOB, REPLACED THE BATTERIES, THAT DIDN'T FIX IT. THEN IT STARTED APPEARING TO BE NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON, BUT THERE WAS NO CODE. RESTARTED THE CAR, MIL OFF. DIDN'T DRIVE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, HAD A DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO START THE CAR, THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO REVERSE. WOULDN'T GO OVER 32 MPH. TURNED OFF RESTARTED WAS ABLE TO GO 50 MPH. THE MIL WAS ON, WAS ABLE TO A DIAGNOSTIC READING - SEE ATTACHED. MY DASH IS LITE UP LIKE CHRISTMAS. IT IS FLASHING TRANSMISSION ERRORS AND PARKING BRAKE ERRORS. WHY WASN'T I NOTIFIED THE RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE? I TOOK CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING AS THIS FIRST STATED 11/24/2017

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR AT LEAST TWELVE MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (ARREGO DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP/RAM IN SAWGRASS, FLORIDA) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND THE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR WOULD BE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TRANSITION WILL SLIP ON TAKEOFF AND WILL ALLOW THE CAR TO ROLL FORWARD ON A HILL WHEN PLACED IN PARK.
CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. 'PUT IN PARK AND RESTART' APPEARS ON SCREEN AND CAR LOSES ALL POWER.
CAR STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING. STALLED 4 TIMES 12/10/17 THEN WAS DRIVING ROUGH, AS I WAS GOING DOWN THE STREET THE RED LIGHTING BOLT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, PARKING LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. WENT TO THE GAS STATION TO PUT GAS IN, STARTED CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. IT TOOK AROUND 8-10 MINUTES TO GET THE CAR TO GO INTO DRIVE. THERE WAS ALL KINDS OF WARNINGS GOING ACROSS THE SCREEN SAYING ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION SERVICE IMMEDIATELY AND TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. SO I TAKE THE CAR IN AND THE TCM IS NEEDING REPLACED AND THE ENGINE MAY NEED REPLACED. THIS IS NOT OK FOR A 2015 CAR TO HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS.
THE VEHICLE HAS BEGUN THROWING AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE ENGINE IS RUNNING HOT AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL NEEDS SERVICED. THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE RUNNING HOT. THE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND COME BACK ON ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO THE NEXT TRIP. THE DEALER STATED THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND QUOTED ALMOST $700 TO REPLACE THE SENSORS. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE LESS THAN ONE YEAR (2ND OWNER) AND JUST ROLLED OVER 60,000 MILES.
THE SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM GOES OFF REPEATEDLY WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF PASSENGERS BEING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
ON NOVEMBER 29, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:15 PM, WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25MPH IN TRAFFIC ON A TWO LANE. I HIT THE BRAKE TO STOP, NO BRAKES, AND I HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER HITTING THEM, I BOUNCED OFF AND CONTINUED TO MOVE WITH NO BRAKES. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I SUSTAINED INJURIES TO ME CHEST, NECK, HEAD AND BACK. I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR IN THE RIGHT SIDE LANE AND EVENTUALLY WAS ABLE TO STEER INTO A PARKING LOT; STILL WITH NO BRAKES. I LOOKED DOWN TO PULL UP THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SAW THE SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL. I THEN PUT THE SHIFTER IN PARK AND THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED. I DO NOT YET HAVE THE POLICE REPORT. I DID NOT RECEIVE A TICKET, BUT WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL.
MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF 3 TIMES JUST THIS WEEK WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME I WAS IDLING AT A STREET LIGHT. THE DASH SAYS TO PUT CAR BACK IN PARK AND THEN IT TAKES A COUPLE OF TRIES TO RESTART IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID I HAVE NO OIL. BUT I JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE NOT TOO LONG AGO AND I HAVE NO LEAKS. THIS CAR IS CONSUMING WAY TOO MUCH OIL. NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THAT I WAS LOW ON OIL. I WAS IN A YIELDING LEFT HAND TURNING LANE WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF 2 OF THE 3 TIMES. IF IT HAD HAPPENED A FEW SECONDS LATER I COULD HAVE BEEN T-BONED WITH MY SON IN THE CAR ON THAT SIDE. VERY DANGEROUS!!!!! THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED.
WARNING LIGHT ON MESSAGE SERVICE AIR BAGS.SERVICE SOON
S55 RECALL CONCERN: I FEEL COMPLETELY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE!! I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2017 STARTING IN LATE NOVEMBER EARLY DECEMBER 2017 THE VEHICLE STARTED SHUTTING OFF BY ITSELF WHEN I AM DRIVING IT SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF AND COMPLETELY DIES. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN I AM BRAKING OR ACCELERATING. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST EVERY 3-6 MILES I DRIVE AND I HAVE TO DRIVE ALOT WORKING AN HOUR AWAY. THIS IS VERY SCARY ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE TURNING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND IT JUST STOPS. SOMETIMES IT GIVES WARNINGS BY LIGHTING UP RANDOM LIGHTS LIKE SLIPPERY ROAD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND SPUTTERS SO I CAN ANTICIPATE IT SINCE IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!! I AM BEING TOLD THAT IT IS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT OVER, I USE FULL SYNTHETIC DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP, AND THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE FOR THE VEHICLE BUT TO ME THIS IS NO SAFETY FEATURE IF ANYTHING IT IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AND I AM AFRAID TO RIDE AROUND WITH MY CHILD IN IT NOT KNOWING WHAT WILL HAPPEN. IN FACT I GO OUT OF MY WAY TO GO AROUND INTERSECTIONS OR DANGEROUS EXPRESSWAYS BECAUSE I AM AFRAID IT WILL STOP WITH HER IN THE CAR. PLEASE HELP!
WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, MY CAR HAS TURNED OFF TWICE WHILE DRIVING IT. THE FIRST TIME I WAS GOING DOWNHILL ON AN S-CURVE AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AND A MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START. THE SECOND TIME I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST SUDDENLY TURNED OFF AND THE SAME MESSAGE APPEARED. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND HAD TO THROW IT IN PARK WHILE OTHER CARS WERE TRYING TO GO AROUND ME WHILE I TRIED TO RESTART IT. WHEN IT DID RESTART IT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND IT ALSO HAD A FLASHING LIGHTNING BOLT. I WAS GOING TO GO GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED THE FOLLOWING DAY, BUT WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON IN THE MORNING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS GONE.
MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN A LOCAL STREET WITH NO WARNING. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW (WITH 6 MILES), I SEARCHED IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, THE NHTSA WEBSITE ONLY SITE 78 VEHICLES AFFECTED IN THE RECALL. I CHECKED AND MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RESOLVED FOR FEAR THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY WHILE SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, OR EVEN WORSE, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR SOMETIMES HAS A HARD TIME CHANGING GEARS, IT'S ALMOST LIKE IT GETS STUCK IN NEUTRAL SOMETIMES AND WONT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. I WAS NOT IN CITY LIMITS IT HAPPENS CONSTANTLY WHEN I FIRST START TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE (MOSTLY WHEN I'M WITHIN MY OWN PERSONAL DRIVEWAY) AND I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY FATAL ACCIDENTS NOR HAVE I BEEN IN A NEAR ACCIDENT. THE ONLY REASON I AM REPORTING THIS ISSUE IS BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN THIS OCCURING ISSUE WITH OTHER CARS THE SAME AS MINE MODEL/YEAR WISE AND WAS WONDERING IF MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE HAD BEEN LOOKED AT FOR THESE POTENTIAL RECALLS.
MY CAR COMPLETELY DIED WHILE DRIVING, AND WITHOUT WARNING. PROMPTS ON THE DASH READ SHIFT TO PARK TO START SO I DID. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR 3 TIMES BEFORE IT TURNED BACK ON. 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME.
PURCHASED CAR 10/2017. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY PROBLEM WITH SEAT BELT LIGHT. DEALER SAID NEEDED CALLIBRATION AND DID. PROBLEM PERSISTS. ALSO HAVE PROBLEM WITH SOMETHING IN CAR TURNING OVER, JERKING, WHILE DRIVING, ALMOST LIKE CAR WANTS TO STALL, ON HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREET. FIRST OCCURRENCE APPROXIMATELY NOVEMBER 2017. MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE DECEMBER 27, 2018.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON AFTER HAVING MY OIL CHANGED AND IT WON'T GO OFF 5/6/2017. THEN YESTERDAY 11/6/2017 MY CAR WOULD NOT START BECAUSE MY BATTERY WAS DEAD BUT I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR USED IN MARCH AND THE BATTERY SHOULD BE DEAD AFTER 2 YEARS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ENDED UP COMING ON AFTER HAVING AAA JUMP START MY VEHICLE AND I'M JUST HAVING ISSUES THAT I SHOULDN'T BE EXPERIENCING AND I'D THINK MY AIRBAG SHOULD STILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP ENGINE STALL EVERY TIME YOU BRAKE AND STALL TO TURN BACK ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WITHIN MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V114000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM AN AIR BAG RECALL, AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN STATING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE SHIFTING MECHANISM, IN THE AUTOMATIC CYCLE, OF THIS VEHICLE JERKS OR LURCHES SIGNIFICANTLY, ESPECIALLY AT THE 25-35 MGH RATE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS RE-PROGRAMMED BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LURCH WHEN ACCELERATING. IN SLOW TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLES LURCHES CONTINUALLY AND IN SOME CASES, CLOSE TO HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. SAME IN SPORT MODE. ALSO HAVE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED WITH NO HELP. THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE ACQUISITION OF THE VEHICLE OVER TWO YEARS AGO. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO GET WORSE.
HEATER SYSTEM, NO HEAT COMES OUT OF DRIVERS SIDE ,IT WORKS ON DEFROST , ALSO PASSENGER SIDE BUT COLD AIR FOR THE DRIVER. WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW HEATER CORE WITCH DON'T MAKE SENSE TO ME. WHY WOULD I NEED A NEW HEATER CORE IF I AM GETTING HEAT EVERY WHERE ELSE
AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STALLED 6 TIMES, ITS NOT A STANDARD WHICH IS UNUSUAL. THE ONLY EXPLANATION THE GARAGE GAVE ME WAS THAT ITS LOW ON OIL. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE TO ME, I'VE RESEARCHED IT AND ALOT OF PEOPLE AT HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. WHEN THE CAR STALLED I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND THE BRAKES. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. I STAYED THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH A COP DIRECTING TRAFFICS AROUND MY CAR,UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO START BACK UP. WHEN IT STARTED BACK UP IT RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN IT STALLED AGAIN AND I HAD IT TOWED.
CAR PURCHASED 10/21/2016, 3 MONTHS LATER PROBLEMS BEGAN. 01/16/2016 SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. DEALER SAID IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, FOR WHAT REASON I STILL DON'T KNOW. TAKEN THE CAR TO 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS TO WORK ON IT AND I KEEP BEING TOLD IT IS A PASSENGER SEAT CONNECTOR, YET I HAVE HAD THIS DONE 3 TIMES NOW...$500 OUT OF POCKET EACH TIME, THE LIGHT IS STILL ON AS OF 11/10/2017. NOW THE CAR ALSO HAS A SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON CONSTANTLY ALONG WITH THIS AIRBAG LIGHT. AS WELL AS OF 10/25/2017 MY CAR HAS BEGAN TO TELL ME THE ENGINE IS RUNNING HOT WHILE I'M DRIVING, BUT THE THERMOSTAT DISPLAY INSIDE NEVER EVEN GETS TO HALF.. SO NOT SURE ABOUT THIS NOW. AS WELL AS ALSO TELLING ME TO SERVICE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AS SOON AS THE OVERHEAT SENSOR GOES OFF. LASTLY I WAS AT THE GAS STATION THE OTHER DAY AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START, IT SAID THE KEYFOB NOT DETECTED BUT IT WAS IN MY HAND! HAD TO GOOGLE WHAT TO DO..(WHICH IS PUT NOSE OF KEYFOB TO BUTTON AND PRESS IT THAT WAY IF HAPPENS TO ANYBODY ELSE) SOO THAT WOULD BE A TOTAL OF 4 DIFFERENT LIGHTS ON AT THIS TIME OF 11/10/2017. ENTERPRISE HAS YET TO HELP ME OR GET BACK TO ME ON ANY OF THESE ISSUES. IT WAS A RENTAL CAR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT FROM THEM, OBVIOUSLY THEY SOLD ME A LEMON! AS I WAS GETTING AN OIL CHANGE ON 11/01/17 I HAD THEM RUN CODES AND IT AND IT READ I NEEDED A NEW THERMOSTAT TO TAKE CARE OF THE ENGINE OVERHEATING AND THE ETC LIGHT...NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS HAS BEEN A CAR FROM HELL. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS TO ENTERPRISE ABOUT THIS CAR REPEATEDLY ESPECIALLY WITH IT ALL HAPPENING SO SOON AFTER GETTING THE CAR. I'M STUCK WITH IT NOW SO I WOULD LOVE FOR SOMEBODY TO KNOW WHAT THERE DOING AND ACTUALLY FIX THIS CAR!!!
WHILE UTILIZING THE UCONNECT 8.4 NAV ONBOARD NAVIGATION SYSTEM DRIVING ON 1-94 TOWARD CHICAGO, THE GPS SYSTEM STARTED GIVING WRONG DIRECTIONS AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER LOST LOCK ON WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS AND THE DIRECTION IT WAS HEADING. AT ONE POINT, THE SYSTEM TOLD ME TO TURN RIGHT AT THE EXIT AND THERE WAS NO EXIT. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS AND KNEW THE DIRECTIONS TO BE IN ERROR. HAD THIS NOT BEEN THE CASE, I.E DRIVING AT NIGHT IN POOR VISIBILITY AND UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ROUTE, THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER RECALL WORK WAS DONE I EXPERIENCE ISSUES. WHEN I TRY TO START MY CAR (PUSH TO START REQUIRES YOU TO PUSH THE BREAK AND PUSH THE BUTTON) BREAK PEDDLE WON'T DEPRESS, SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHTS COMES ON. I CALL A TOW TRUCK AND GET IT DROPPED OFF AT THE CLOSET DEALERSHIP. I ARRIVE BEHIND THE TOW TRUCK AND WATCH IT BE DROPPED OFF EXPLAIN TO SERVICE ADVISER WHATS GOING ON AND I JUST HAD RECALL WORK DONE AND THAT IS WHEN THE ISSUES STARTED. IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT MY CAR OR KNOWING WHAT CAR IS MINE SHE SAYS NO ITS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL. SHE IS NOT A TECHNICIAN AND DOESN'T ACTUALLY KNOW THE CAUSE YET. THEY CALL LATER IN THE DAY AND TELL ME THE BODY CONTROL MODULE HAS SHORTED OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS NO LONGER COMMUNICATING WITH THE TCM(THE TCM WAS UPDATED DURING RECALL WORK BUT THE BCM WAS NOT.) THE TWO CAN LONGER COMMUNICATE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOW BASICALLY SPEAKING A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE. OF COURSE I AM TOLD NOT RELATED TO RECALL. THE NEXT DAY I GET A CALL SAYING MY BATTERY THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY WORKING GREAT CAN NO LONGER PASS A TEST. SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO CRANK AND START MY CAR( THE CAR THAT WENT IN FOR A BREAK PEDDLE THAT WOULD NOT DEPRESS AND WOULD NOT START) I NOW NEED TO PAY FOR A NEW BATTERY AND THERE IS AN INSTALLATION FEE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. NEXT DAY MY CARS STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS NO LONGER WORK AND SOMETHING ELSE HAS SHORTED OUT. MY RENTAL CAR NOT ONLY HAS TRASH IN THE BACK SEAT BUT A ROACH THAT CRAWLS OUT FROM IN BETWEEN THE SEATS. I GET A CALL THAT THE TECH WHO WORKED ON MY CAR FINISHED AT CLOSING TIME SO TO BRING BACK THE RENTAL NEXT DAY! I'M THINKING MY CAR WONT HAVE ANY MORE ISSUES, I'M WRONG!! THE MENU ON MY CAR LETS YOU VIEW THE TIRE PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURES OF THE VEHICLE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE OIL TEMP DOESN'T DISPLAY. THE SETTING FOR MY DOORS TO BE UNLOCKED WITH THE HAND SENSOR ON DRIVER DOOR WONT WORK!
TAKATA RECALL I TURN MY CAR ON THIS MORNING AND AND MY GEAR SAYS IT'S IN NEUTRAL AND IT WON'T LET ME SWITCH TO DRIVE.
IN LATE AUGUST 2017 I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, WITHIN 60 DAYS AN ALARM LIGHT CAME ON AND SOUNDED OFF. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE SERVICE DEPT, AND WAS TOLD AN ADJUSTMENT WAS MADE AND THE CAR WOULD BE FINE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED, THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THE CAR NEEDED A TRANSMISSION; A 4 WAS PUT IN THE CAR INSTEAD OF A 2 AND IT WOULD BE 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR BEFORE THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE, BECAUSE THERE WAS A BACK ORDER ON THIS PARTICULAR ITEM. DUE TO MANUFACTURING, THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE AND THERE IS NO RECALL, THE CARS ARE BEING REPAIRED AS THEY ARE BROUGHT IN. I WAS ALSO TOLD TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR I SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THE CAR MAY STALL. WELL, THE GEARS ARE STARTING TO SLIP AND IT TAKES A COUPLE SECONDS TO GET IN GEAR WHEN PULLING OFF FROM AN IDLE POSITION, ALONG WITH THAT THE ALARMS ARE STILL GOING OFF. THE ISSUE THAT THE CAR COULD JUST CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING IS UNNERVING BY ITSELF. I NO LONGER FEEL LIKE I HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I CAN'T CONTINUE PUTTING MYSELF AT RISK. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER THE FULL WARRANTY.
THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR CLUSTERS MAY HAVE INSUFFICIENT CRIMPS IN THE TRANSMISSION WIRE HARNESS, AND AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION MAY UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. THE CAR IS SHAKING RIGHT AFTER I REFILLED THE GAS TO FULL. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM FIXED OVER 5 TIMES. HOWEVER, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURED THE NEXT DAY AFTER I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGH WAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE TRANSMISSION BROKE DOWN AND THE CAR LOST ITS POWER.
