MY VEHICLE JERKS WHEN FIRST STARTING OFF, ENGINE ON AND AIRBAG LIGHT BEEN ON OVER A YEAR WHEN I FIRST PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE THEY HAD TO SHAMPOO DRIVER SEAT. AFTER 2 OR 3 MONTHS I TOOK CAR FOR OIL CHANGE AND REPORT THE CAR JERKING SOMETIMES WHEN TAKING OFF THE MECHANIC TOOK ME I DIDN'T NEED AN OIL CHANGE , AND THE CAR JERKING WAS BECAUSE IT WAS NEW..SO I BELIEVE HIM. THEY CHANGED MY OIL FOR A YEAR AND RANDOMLY I TOLD THEM IT STILL JERK..IT WOULD JERK IN THE CITY ON MY JOB AND ON INTERSTATE.

MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED/FIXED. THEY TOLD ME THE EVERYTHING WAS OK AND THAT THEY HAD TO DO SOME UPDATES ON THE VEHICLE AND EVERYTHING WAS FIX. WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR AND TWO DAYS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. SO NOW I HAVE TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE VEHICLE AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A LONER VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK . FROM THE REVIEWS I AM SEEING A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CHRYSLER 200 THIS CAR IS DEFECTIVE

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTRACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED BACK AND FORTH WHICH, AT TIMES, CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF FROM 15 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE BEING ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER A TOTAL OF NINE TIMES FOR THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
WAS INVOLVED IN A 3 -CAR ACCIDENT ON 04/27/2016 PER THE WAY HE VEHICLE WAS HIT AND THE DAMAGES, THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF... MEANING THE PUSH TO START WOULD NOT TURN OFF ENGINE... THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN ACCIDENT OCCURRED AND THERE IS NO REASON EXACTLY WHY THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY BEING THAT THE AXLE IS DAMAGED AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE HAS JUST SHUT DOWN IN MIDST OF DRIVING NO WARNING NEARLY REAR ENDED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THEN WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR IT HAS BEEN SENT FOR REPAIR TWICE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AGAIN IN FEAR OF BEING IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WITH NO WARNING. ON DECEMBER 2015, I BOUGHT THE 2015 CHRYSLER 200 LIMITED FROM GILROY CHRYSLER DEALER. (MALFUNCTION #1) ON SUNDAY APRIL 17, 2015, @ APPROXIMATELY 9:45 I DROVE MY CHRYSLER LESS THAN A MILE FROM MY HOME WHEN I MADE A RIGHT TURN & MY CAR TURNED OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT. (MALFUNCTION #2) THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO HAD PROBLEMS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WHEN GOING IN REVERSE LIKE METAL ON METAL CONTACT. (MALFUNCTION #3) WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE IT IS DELAYED AND CHANGES HARD. ON APRIL 23, 2015 MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AN OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION @ (STEVENS CREEK JEEP DODGE) 4100 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, CA 95129 AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR WAS ADVISED. HE ADVISED THEY WERE BOOKED UP FOR 3 WEEKS IN ORDER TO CONDUCT A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK UNDER THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND IT IS SCHEDULED FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY. THE DEALER WOULD NOT GIVE A FOR A TEMPORARY VEHICLE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER TWO CHILDREN.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR (WITH 22,000 MILES) ON THE HIGHWAY A NOISE WAS HEARD AND AS I ACCELERATED MORE THE NOISE GOT LOUDER, COMING FROM THE FRONT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND A ROAD TEST WAS COMPLETED AND THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT BOTH THE FRONT WHEEL HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE WARRANTY COVERED THE REPAIR AND CAR RENTAL.

I WAS ABOUT TO TURN RIGHT ONTO THE STREET, WHEN I FELT LOSS OF POWER. THE CAR ETC, MIL, AND ETC INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. TRANSMISSION GOES INTO STALL MODE, DOES NOT GO OVER 30 MPH, SPEEDING UP AND SLOWING DOWN AND SHAKING EXCESSIVELY. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 10 MONTHS. NOW IF THIS WAS TO HAVE OCCURRED ON A WEEKDAY I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY AND THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND HAS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. IT HAS HARD SHIFTING AND DOWNSHIFTING ISSUES, ALWAYS CAUSING ISSUES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SINCE IT KEEPS JUMPING AND CONCERNS MY SAFETY AND SAFETY OF OTHER DRIVERS. I FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND A LEMON LAW SUIT WITH ATTORNEY TROY GORMAN, HOWEVER THE COMPANY SHOWS UP A PAPER THAT I SIGNED OF MY LEGAL RIGHT TO SUE THEM FOR ANY WARRANTY DISPUTES! WHO WILL ENSURE MY SAFETY AND OTHER DRIVERS SAFETY THEN? ISN'T THAT A FRAUD AND MANIPULATING WITH THE LAW? BOUHT THE CAR WITH FAULTY AIRBAG AND PASSENGER SEAT AND UPON MULTIPLE CALLS TO THE DEALERSHIP NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE AND I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS SINCE 2016. NOW MY ELECTRIC THROTTLE SENSOR HAS CAME ON WITH THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR. I JUST WANT IT LOOKED AT AND FIXED. NOT EVERYTHING HAS HAPPENED AT ONCE IT BEEN A COURSE OF THREE YEARS.
FRONT END COLLISION OCCURRED ON APRIL 5 2016. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT 49 MPH AND CAUSED A 6 CAR CRASH. NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. LAFONTAIN OF SALINE AND CHRYSLER HQ WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS.. I AM STILL PAYING FOR THIS LEASE.

IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (PREMIER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 13000 I 10 SERVICE RD, NEW ORLEANS, LA 70128, 888-358-9233) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE RESET AND THE BOLTS NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,193.
YOUR AGENCY REPORTED HEADLAMPS ON MY MAKE/MODEL VEHICLE POOR TO MARGINAL IN TERMS OF VISION, AND IS SAFETY RELATED. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER DIRECTLY, AND HAD THE HEADLAMPS INSPECTED BY MY DEALER. DEALER, OBVIOUSLY, SAYS THEY OPERATED AS DESIGNED, BUT THE INDICATION BY NHTSA IS THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED POORLY, AND ARE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. CHRYSLER WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP. MY 2008 HYUNDAI AZERA HEADLAMP DEPTH OF FIELD IS 30' GREATER.
I PURCHASED THE CAR AND NOT 6 MONTHS LATER THEY DID A RECALL ON IT. AFTER THIS THE CAR WOULD ALWAYS COMPLETELY SKIP SECOND GEAR WHEN DOWNSHIFTING. SO BAD THAT IT SHUTTERS BACK AND FORTH WHEN STOPPING, WHICH STARTLES ME AND SOMETIMES ITS HARD TO RUN INTO PEOPLE OR OBJECTS. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE CHRYSLER FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THEY TELL ME IT'S FINE. THE SERVICE PEOPLE ALL AGREE THAT IT'S A HUGE PROBLEM BUT CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO COVER THIS UP. WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A SLOW ROLL, A YIELD, AND TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, THE CAR SHIFTS ERRATICALLY. THE CAR WILL BE IN 3RD GEAR, WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE IN SECOND GEAR BUT IT WON'T DOWNSHIFT, THE CAR WILL LITERALLY PROPEL YOU WHEN THERE IS A SLIGHT ACCELERATION OF THE GAS PEDAL BECAUSE IT SHIFTS INTO FIRST LIKE YOU'RE IN A RACE CAR. AT THIS POINT IT'S HARD TO MAINTAIN BEING IN THE LANE YOU'RE TRYING TO BE IN. NOT ONLY IS THIS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN BUT ALSO NOBODY WANTS TO RIDE IN MY NEW CAR BECAUSE THE RIDE IS SO ROUGH. IT'S APPOINTING AND ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL THE WAY CHRYSLER IS TREATING ME. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH MONEY I SAVED FROM DEPLOYING TO AFGHANISTAN AND ALL FOR NOTHING. WHEN I THINK ABOUT TRADING THE CAR IN, CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE TO GIVE ME EVEN LESS MONEY FOR THE CAR BECAUSE IT SHIFTS HOW IT DOES EVEN THOUGH CHRYSLER SAYS IT'S SHIFTING AS INTENDED. I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS EXTREMELY ERRATIC SHIFTING FOR A YEAR NOW. ALSO WHEN YOU'RE SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP AND DON'T STOP COMPLETELY THE CAR WILL DO A BURNOUT AT TIMES, OBVIOUSLY LAUNCHING YOU FORWARD. IN THE SNOW AND ICE THE CAR WILL DOWNSHIFT VIOLENTLY AND CAUSING THE CAR TO START SLIDING DOWN HILLS. ALL THESE ISSUES HAPPEN AT LOW SPEEDS FROM 2-5 MPH.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED ONCE. THE ISSUES ARE STILL PRESENT AND IT HAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AS A RESULT OF THESE ISSUES JUST LAST WEEK. A CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE OTHER LISTED ISSUES STILL EXIST.

THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY AFTER HAVING AN UPDATE DONE TO THE TCM AND PCM. THE TRANSMISSION HAD NO ISSUES BEFORE THIS OCCURRED AND NOW IT SHIFTS HORRIBLY WHILE LUNGING FORWARD COMING TO STOPS. UPON DECELERATION, IT WILL NOT SHIFT DOWN FROM 3RD GEAR UNTIL THE CAR IS ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPPED THEN DOWNSHIFTS TO 1ST GEAR LUNGING THE CAR FORWARD. EVEN AFTER STOPPING, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SOMETIMES LAG ON TAKE OFFS FOR 2-3 SECONDS THEN TAKE OFF LIKE THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK THREE TIMES TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED, TWO TIMES THEY TRIED RE-UPDATING IT AND THE THIRD TIME REPLACING MY PCM BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED THIS SHIFTING. IN FACT, AFTER THE PCM REPLACEMENT, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SLIP IN 8TH AND 9TH GEARS AROUND 1750 RPMS. IT WILL ALSO DELAY SHIFTING UP WHEN CLIMBING EVEN THE SLIGHTEST GRADE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS RUNNING AT HIGH RPMS (5000-7000). THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROCESS SINCE THE FIRST UPDATE WAS PERFORMED IN THE MIDST OF FRONT HUB REPLACEMENT BACK IN OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER WITH NO IDEAS ON HOW TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION. THE CAR IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD AND HAS ALREADY BEEN TO THE SHOP 7 TIMES FOR REOCCURRING PROBLEMS.

AS WITH LAST REPORT CAR STOP SUDDENLY AND CONSOLE SAID TO PLACE CAR IN PARK. GLIDED OFF ROAD AND HAD TO RE-START. TOOK CAR IN TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE THE OIL WAS OLD. CAR HAS 3900 MILES. WHAT HAPPENED WAS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM IN R24/NHTSA 15V-470. SERVICE REP TOOK ME ASIDE AND TOLD A STORY ALL SHOULD HEAR. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND IS FIGHTING COMPLAINTS UNDER WARRANTY IF OWNERS ARE NOT CHANGING OIL AT "REASONABLE" INTERVALS. IT ALREADY HAPPENED AT THEIR DEALERSHIP WITH A CLIENT THAT WANTED THE ENGINE REPLACED. SO WORD TO THE WISE...HE KNOWS THAT CHANGING THE OIL IS NOT THE ISSUE, BUT WAS GIVING US A HEADS UP ABOUT CHANGING THE OIL SO NOT TO VOID THE WARRANTY. SOUNDS LIKE CHRYSLER MAY NOT PLAY NICE ON THE ISSUE THEY KNOW THEY HAVE WITH THE 200. SO CHANGE YOUR OIL AND KEEP A RECORD OF IT!
THE CAR IS BURNING OIL. 35 QT IN 6000 MILES. THAT IS ALL YOU SMELL AS YOU DRIVE OR AT IDLE. THE CAR JERKS BACK AND FORTH AS YOU DRIVE NOT GOOD FORM MY 5 YR AND 3 YR OLD NECKS WHEN ITS JERKING THEM BACK AND FORTH. AS WE BRAKE THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS GIVING GAS TO GO. THE CAR HAS DIED AT STOP SIGNS IN THE MIDDLE OF KNOW WHERE.

ON SATURDAY 2/27/16, MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION (WE HAD THE GREEN LIGHT) AND A FORD F-150 TRUCK RAN A RED LIGHT FORCING US TO T-BONE HIS TRUCK. WE WERE GOING APPROX 25 MPH AND THE TRUCK WAS GOING APPROX 40 MPH WHEN WE COLLIDED. THE AIRBAGS ON MY CHRYSLER 200 DID NOT DEPLOY BUT THE AIRBAGS ON THE F-150 DID DEPLOY. MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH RECEIVED HEAD, NECK AND BACK PROBLEMS FROM THIS ACCIDENT BUT THANKFULLY NOTHING EXTREMELY MAJOR. I AM INCLUDING PICTURES OF THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACCIDENT.
SAME ISSUE AGAIN AS REPORTED ON 2/13/2016. CAR SHUT DOWN. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND MESSAGE SAYS TO PLACE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK AND START THE CAR. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME THE CAR RE-STARTS. THIS IS A COMMON TREAD WITH OWNERS OF THIS CAR MODEL. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME MODEL BUILT EARLIER IN 2014.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE BACKING UP, THE BRAKES MAKE A GRINDING / RUBBING NOISE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY. IT STARTED WITH JUST 1,200 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A PROBLEM WHICH CHRYSLER CLAIMS THEY CANNOT FIND.

CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING. YESTERDAY DRIVING HOME DURING MY COMMUTE, IN ONE OF THE BUSIEST HIGHWAYS IN NYC THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THIS WAS A HARROWING EXPERIENCE BECAUSE IT WAS RUSH HOUR, I WAS AT THE TIME, PASSING A SHORT BRIDGE WHICH OFFERED NO SHOULDER FOR ME TO PULL OVER. CONFUSED AND BEWILDERED, I FELT FEARFUL SOMEONE MY NOT SEE ME AND SLAM BEHIND ME. I QUICKLY PUT MY FOUR WAYS AND LITERALLY PUT MY ARM OUT THE WINDOW FRANTICALLY WAVING TRAFFIC AROUND THE DISABLED VEHICLE. AS I TRIED TO RE-POSITION THE GEAR KNOB FROM DRIVING TO PARK, THE LIGHT INDICATOR WOULD NOT MOVE FROM THE DRIVE POSITION ALTHOUGH THE KNOB DID ROTATE TO THE PARK POSITION. AFTER 5 MINUTES OR SO, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR BY PRESSING ON THE IGNITION BUTTON AND LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED IT STARTED UP AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME SAFELY, ALTHOUGH THIS TYPE OF EVENT COULD HAD HAD A VERY DIFFERENT RESULT.
