TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE UNDERCARRIAGE CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
IN NOVEMBER 2015, WHILE DRIVING TO VIRGINIA FROM FLORIDA, THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, PADDLE SHIFTERS WERE DISABLED, AND THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A LIMP MODE. I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO GAS STATION AND TRIED TO PLACE INTO PARK, DASH THEN TOLD ME NOT ABLE TO PLACE INTO PARK, THUS I FORCED IT TO TURN OFF. I RETURNED TO THE CAR 20 MINUTES LATER AND IT STARTED BACK UP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN CLEARED ITSELF AND TOOK TO DEALER 2 DAYS LATER, THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG W/ IT BUT MAYBE THE WIRING RECALL WOULD FIX IT BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND A STORED CODE THAT SAID IT WAS A COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I BEGAN TO HAVE HARD SHIFTING ISSUES IN MARCH. I FINALLY HAD TO CONTACT CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE AS THE DEALER WOULD NOT TIMELY FIX THE RECALL. IT WAS THEN FIXED IN MARCH. THEY DID A LEARN AND PLAY ON THE TRANSMISSION AND IT HAS FIXED THE HARD SHIFTING. SINCE MARCH, 3 DIFFERENCE OCCASIONS WITH TWO OF THEM IN THE TWO WEEKS AND MULTIPLE TIMES ON EACH OCCASION THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT HAS ILLUMINATED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON, AND THE CAR GO INTO LIMP MODE. THE LIMP MODE IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT PUTS ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET SOMETIMES AND CANNOT GO ANYWHERE. I HAVE BEEN LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF EXIT RAMPS OF HIGHWAYS, I HAVE BEEN LEFT AT LIGHTS, ETC. EACH TIME WE GO TO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT RECREATE THIS (BUT THEY STATE THEY CAN ONLY DRIVE IT A FEW MILES) SO IT NEVER GETS FIXED. THIS TIME, I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER, CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THE ISSUE AND IT IS A LOW VOLTAGE ISSUE TELLING THE TRANSMISSION TO SHUT DOWN BUT THEY SAID THEY ARE TRYING TO GET IT APPROVED BY THE FEDERAL GOVT AS A RECALL. I HAVE GREAT CONCERNS OF THIS CAR, I HAVE PAID $32,000 FOR A NEW CAR AND IT LEAVES ME VERY VULNERABLE AND NOT SAFE AT ALL!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AS A RESULT OF THE VEHICLE STALLING, IT CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER THE DETAILS OF THE DIAGNOSIS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I WAS DRIVING HOME AND MY TRANSMISSION AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON ME AND CAUSED ME TO HIT A MEDIAN AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER HASN'T BEEN PROFESSIONAL AT ALL IN REGARDS TO THIS RECALL AND I'M DISTURBED. I COULD HAVE REALLY BEEN HURT AND I'M NOT OK WITH THE FACT I HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T MY FAULT AND COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY DIED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS TURNING IN A BUSY INTERSECTION .
PURCHASED 6/29/2015 HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR AT ALL UNTIL I TOOK IT IN FOR OIL SERVICE ON NOV 21ST, 2015 AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT HAD TO BE DONE. (WASN'T GIVEN AN OPTION). SINCE THAT UPDATE THE CAR SHIFTS EXTREMELY ROUGH WHEN DOWN SHIFTING FROM 2 TO 1 AND LURCHES VIOLENTLY FORWARD, IT ALSO SHIFTS HARD FROM 1 TO 2. THE DEALERSHIP GIVES YOU THE EXPLANATION THAT I NEED TO DRIVE IT 1K MILES AND IT SHOULD BE OK? IT IS A DANGER TO DRIVE AND MY WIFE WON'T USE IT.
TOOK MY PERFECTLY DRIVING 200 IN FOR AN OIL SERVICE AND TIRE ROTATION. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THERE WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE (NO DETAILED EXPLANATION SO I ASSUMED IT WAS THE RADIO SECURITY) NOV 21TH, 2015. I WAITED FOR THE SERVICE TO BE COMPLETED AND UPON DRIVING HOME NOTICED THE CAR ACTING WEIRD, THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT DOWN SHIFTING CORRECTLY AND LUNGING FORWARD TERRIBLY. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED THE SOFTWARE FLASH WOULD TAKE 1,000 MILES-WHAT? SOUNDS LIKE BULL S**T TO ME BUT I DROVE IT OVER 1500 MILES FOR CHRISTMAS IN IN WITH EVERYONE RIDING ALONG ASKING WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH MY CAR! I CONTACTED THE DEALER UPON MY RETURN AND AFTER SOME EXCUSES AND A SERVICE MANGER WITH AN ATTITUDE IT NOW GOES BACK IN JAN 9TH, 2016 BUT THEY ARE ALREADY TRYING TO BLOW IT OFF.....DROVE PERFECT TILL MY DEALER AND FCA SCREWED IT UP! IF THEY EVEN ATTEMPT TO TELL ME IT NEEDS TO REFLASH OR ITS MY DRIVING STYLE I WILL IMMEDIATELY REQUEST A TEST DRIVE IN A NEW ONE AND VIDEO IT. UPDATE FROM DEC 31, 2015 FCA TELLS ME MY CAR HAD THE TCM AND PCM UPDATED WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED. UPDATE FROM FEB 8, 2016 WELL AFTER TWO MORE VISITS......THIS CAR STILL DOES NOT DOWN SHIFT CORRECTLY WITHOUT A LURCH FORWARD BETWEEN 2ND AND 1ST. SOME NICE PIECES OF CRAP YOU HAVE BUILT IN DETROIT CHRYSLER! FEB 25,2016-CHRYSLER INFORMED ME THEY ARE AWARE OF THE LUNGING FORWARD WHILE TRYING TO STOP BUT NO KNOWN REPAIR IS AVAILABLE. KEEP DRIVING IT! ITS A SAFETY HAZARD AND INJURY WAITING TO HAPPEN.

I HAD A SAFETY RECALL ON MY 200, TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NOV 18TH, 2015. THEY REPROGRAM MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM). RIGHT AFTER THAT MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO ACT ALL CRAZY, NOT SHIFTING RIGHT OR DOWN SHIFTING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, GOT IT BACK ON DECEMBER 2ND, 2015. THEY SAID THEY RE DID THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY HAVE ADVISED ME TO DRIVE IT LIKE THAT FOR TWO WEEKS TO RELEARN DRIVIND AND TO BRING IT BACK IF IT DOESN'T IMPROVE. THE CAR IS ACTING EVEN WORSE, THE TACHOMETER SEEMS LIKE IT IS NOT COORDINATED WITH THE SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS LIKE NOT RELEASING WHEN I BRAKE. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT, THIS IS NOT THE CAR I BOUGHT A YEAR AGO. I DRIVE AT LEAST 50 MILES PER DAY IN A CAR THAT DOESN'T GIVE ME A GOOD FEELING ABOUT IT.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE STALLED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS PLACED AS NUMBER 19 ON A WAITING LIST AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION AND DRIVING LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION ECU WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,200.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION ON MY CAR THAT THE POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER (PDC) ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ON MY VEHICLE MAY HAVE SPREAD ELECTRICAL TERMINALL(S). A SPREAD ELECTRICAL TERMINAL(S) COULD CAUSE INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION(S) TO CERTAIN ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THIS MAY RESULT IN AN ENGINE STALL OR A SHIFT TO NEUTRAL EVENT. EITHER OF THE CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. SO I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE FIXED SINCE I AM VERY CONCERNED AND DO NOT WANT TO CRASH FOR SURE. MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WAS FOR OCTOBER 22ND AT 8AM. WHEN I GOT TOSERVIC DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID OH SHE FORGOT TO PUT YOU DOWN FOR THE RECALL SO WE CAN'T FIX TODAY BECAUSE WE DO NTOT HAVE THE PARTS. SO I RESCHEDULED TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED AND THAT APPOINTMENT WAS FOR FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6TH AT 8AM.I WENT INSIDE, REGISTERED MY CAR, AND LEFT MY KEYS WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS ON MY WAY. I HAD MY DAUGHTER PICK ME UP SINCE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP MY CAR FOR 8 HOURS AND I DID NOT WANT TO SIT THERE FOR 8 HOURS. ABOUT 45 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING MY CAR AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THEM STATING THAT THEY WOULD ONCE AGAIN NOT BE ABLE TO FIX MY CAR BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AT THIS POINT. THEY CLAIM THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER BUT I AM RECEIVING EMAILS FROM CHRYSLER SAYING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND TAKE YOUR CAR IN IMMEDIATELY TO BE FIXED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND I JUST WANT MY CAR FIXED PROPERLY. JUST THE OTHER DAY IT SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT AND A CRASH DID NOT OCCUR. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT??
CAR WILL STALL OUT WITH NO WARNING AT ANY SPEED OR MANEUVER, DISABLING POWER STEERING. I DRIVE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS TRAFFIC AND IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF STALL OCCURS ON THEIR MANY, MANY EXPRESSWAYS AND OVERPASSES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS, DOWNTOWN STREETS AND ON IH 35.
STOPPING THE VEHICLE AS I WAS TRAVELING DOWN MY STREET, CAME TO A STOP SIGN, HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL, BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF AND HARD TO STOP. NO LONGER STOPPED AFTER THAT AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER. BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND A SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE WARNING CAME UP ON INFO SCREEN. LUCKILY WAS NOT TRAVELING FAST ENOUGH SO I STILL MANAGED TO STOP WITH PARKING BRAKE AND SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL

CONTACTED DEALER WHO SAID THEY KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM.WHEN I SAID THAT CAR WAS UNSAFE,SERVICE MANAGER KEITH AT TATE CHRYSLER SAID 'I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU, JOIN THE OTHER 300,000 PEOPLE IN LINE" WAS ON US HIGHWAY 70 DOING APPROX 65 MILES AN HOUR WHEN ISSUE OCCURED.

THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE MONTH TWO, TAKEN IN MULTIPLE TIMES TO BE TOLD A VARIETY OF REASONS WHY THE CAR ISN'T WORKING. CAR STOPPED TWICE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WOULDN'T START OR MOVE (WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR BOTH TIMES). CURRENTLY CAR WILL SPEED UP WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS, ALSO CAR TRANSMISSION THUDS INTO GEAR FEELING LIKE THE CAR IS LITERALLY GOING TO FALL APART. BEEN TOLD THAT EVERYONE IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION. IN THE MEAN TIME THE CAR IS CLEARLY UNSTABLE, UNSAFE.

BOUGHT CAR IS OCTOBER OF 2014. OCTOBER OF 2015, CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. FIRST DAY IT STARTED. CAR HAD TROUBLE TURNING OVER. IT CRANKED, AND CRANKED, AND FINALLY WAS ABLE TO TURN OVER. DROVE IT TO WORK THAT DAY AND FELT SHAKES AND VIBRATIONS AT IDLE. NEXT DAY, SAME THING. CAR HESITATES AND SHAKES AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. TOWED TO DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THE ISSUE WAS THE RECALLS AND UPDATES TO THE TCM AND PCM. I STATED THERE WAS SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS, AND THEY INSISTED IT WAS JUST THE RECALLS (POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER). GOT A CALL THE NEXT DAY TO PICK CAR UP. TOOK OFF WITH IT, AND AT NEXT STOP LIGHT, CAR STALLED. LIGHTS FLICKERED AND CAR FELT VERY ROUGH. WAS ABLE TO TURN BACK ON CAR. AT THIS TIME, THE A/C STOPPED WORKING. THE DEFROST WAS THE ONLY THING WORKING NO MATTER WHAT WAS TURNED ON OR OFF ON THE DASH. TRIED TO TURN AC AND DEFROST ON AND OFF AND THE DEFROST STAYED ON THE WHOLE TIME. MADE IT BACK TO DEALER, AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUES. WHILE I STOOD THERE, THE ADVISER FELT THE SHAKE WHEN HE TOUCHED THE DOOR, AND SAID THERE WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG AND GOT ME A LOANER CAR. STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK.

CAR BEGAN LURCHING FORWARD UPON ACCELERATION SO WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL, I ASKED THAT THE DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT. THEY STATED THAT IT WAS FIXED WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT THEY COMPLETED. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR BEGAN LURCHING FORWARD EVERY TIME I CAME TO A STOP. ONCE I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IT SHIFTS AND LURCHES LIKE IT WANTS TO GO. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE TWO EMPLOYEES TELL ME THEY ARE AWARE OF MANY WITH ISSUES LIKE THIS BUT ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER NOTHING IS WRONG. THE PAPER WORK THEY GAVE ME STATES NOTHING IS WRONG. THE CAR LUNGES EVERY TIME YOU STOP. THIS IS NOT "NORMAL". THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT ONCE ANOTHER SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX IT IS AVAILABLE THEY WILL CALL ME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND, IF "NOTHING IS WRONG" WHY WOULD THEY NEED TO CALL ME WHEN A FIX IS AVAILABLE? THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS AND IT HAS 2,300 MILES ON IT.
THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER SAID TO CONTACT IF THE DEALER COULD REMEDY THE DEFECT IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE SOONEST THEY CAN FIT MY CAR IN IS JANUARY 2016. THEY SAID THEY ARE OVERLOADED WITH ALL OF THE RECALLS AND THEY CAN'T DO IT SOONER. I'M 33 WEEKS PREGNANT AND I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD. I REALLY DON'T NEED THE ADDED STRESS THAT MY CAR, WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN FEBRUARY 2015, COULD POTENTIALLY STALL AND CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. THAT IS A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN IF SOMETHING DOES GO WRONG.
