2015 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND OTHER MECHANICAL/ TECHNICAL ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE ENGINE LIGHT ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED ROUGHLY, THERE WAS A FAULTY TRANSFER OF POWER, AND THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE ENGINE REFUSED TO TURN OFF. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE WAS ADJUSTED AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. HOWEVER, TWO DAYS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THE FOLLOWING DAY, HE WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONSUMER FOUR DAYS LATER WITH THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE SIMILAR PROBLEMS BEFORE THE REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED ROUGHLY AND INTERMITTENTLY, WHILE CRUISING, AND WHEN LIGHTLY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD SEEMINGLY HESITATE ONLY TO ENGAGE AFTER A MOMENT OF UNCERTAINTY. *JB
2015 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE PARKING BRAKE SETS AUTOMATICALLY AND DRIVER HEATED SEAT COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SO FAR, THE PARKING BRAKE SET AUTOMATICALLY AT A VERY LOW SPEED. *JB
I WAS PICKING UP MY BROTHER FROM THE STORE AND MY CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF. I THEN RESTARTED IT WHICH TOOK 3 TIMES AND IT FINALLY TURNED OVER AND STARTED. I THEN MADE IT ABOUT 15 MIN DOWN THE FREEWAY TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AND LEFT MY BROTHER IN THE RUNNING CAR ONLY TO RETURN TO THE CAR BEING OFF. I TRIED OVER 6 TIMES TO RESTART IT AND IT CHOKED THEN TOLD ME ENGINE WARMING TRY AGAIN LATER AND SHUT OFF. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO THEN TOWED IT BACK. AFTER A WEEK OF HAVING IT THEY DECIDED IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND GAVE IT BACK, HOWEVER I DON'T THINK THEY FIXED IT BECAUSE ON 6/27/15 I HAD YET ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL THAT CAUSE MY ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE TO QUIT ON ME AND CONTINUE TO REBOOT ITSELF AND FREEZE ALL WHILE SHOWING THE BACKUP CAMERA SCREEN WHILE I WAS CLEARLY GOING FORWARD FOR MILES.
THE FIRST INCIDENT I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE CITY APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART MY CAR IMMEDIATELY. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS THE CAR RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE BEFORE THE ENGINE QUIT AGAIN. I RESTARTED IT AGAIN AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AND PARKED IT. I DROVE IT HOME 3 HOURS LATER AND IT APPEARED TO BE NORMAL. ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY COULD NOT "RE-CREATE" THE INCIDENT SO THEY GAVE ME THE CAR BACK. I HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 DAYS WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THIS TIME I WAS IN THE CITY TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM. THEY HAVE STATED A RE-CALL WAS DONE ON IT AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED. THE RECALL THEY STATED THAT WAS DONE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE SO IT IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME IF THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY FIXED OR NOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE WHICH RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V090000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
IVE BEEN HAVNG PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED. THE CAR SLIPS GEARS AND TAKES OFF AND STAGGER WHILE ON HIGHWAY. IVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE PROBLEM FIXED BY CHRYSLER. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T MATCH WITH SOFTWARE AND CHRYSLER IS LOOKING TO FIX ISSUE IN THE FUTURE. THECAR FEELS REALLY UNSAFE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I ALSO NOTICED THAT THIS CAR WAS SOLD TO ME WAY ABOVE PRICE THAT WAS OFFERED TO OTHERS. I ALSO FEEL THAT THE CONTRACT IS NO LONGER VALID AS THE CAR DEALERSHIP REQUESTED A CERTAIN AMOUNT TO PAY OFF MY TRADE IN. I LATER FOUND THAT THE AMOUNT WAS NEARLY $300 LESS THAN THE REQUESTED AMOUNT. I WAS TOLD THAT ANY EXCESS FUND WILL BE RELEASED TO ME. ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE REFUND.
THE VEHICLE HAD TWO TRANSMISSION FAILURES WHERE IT BROKE DOWN THE FIRST TIME ON THE FREEWAY AND THE SECOND TIME IN THE CITY. THOSE TWO TRANSMISSION FAILURES HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED TO ANY CAR HISTORY REPORT AGENCY OR THE PUBLIC. THIS MIGHT BE PUTTING SOMEONE LIFE AT RISK. I HAVE TO SAY THIS THAT WE DIDN'T FIND ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: DURABILITY, RELIABILITY, AND SAFETY IN THE VEHICLE AND THOSE WERE THE REASON WE DIDN'T DIVE THE CAR THAT OFTEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE AT A STOP, THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FREESTONE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (844-664-3130, LOCATED AT 350 INTERSTATE 45 E, FAIRFIELD, TX 75840) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
WHILE BACKING INTO A DRIVEWAY THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD SCREECH/GRINDING NOISE AND DID NOT STOP AS IT NORMALLY WOULD HAVE CAUSING ME TO ALMOST BACK INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. CHRYSLER HAS ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO RANDOMLY MAKE THIS SOUND AND FAIL TO STOP NORMALLY. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THE BRAKES ARE PERFORMING NORMALLY AND BESIDES THE SCREECH THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING IN A SCHOOL ZONE AT ABOUT 15 MPH WHEN THE CAR JERKED THEN BOUNCED 3 OR 4 TIMES. THE SLOWED AND WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE RPM'S INCREASED BUT THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND PUT THE CAR IN PSRK BUT THE D WAS FLASHING AS IF IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. WARNING LIGHT WERE ALSO FLASHING. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AN DRIVE TO WORK. SINCE THEN IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ALWAYS TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN HE ACCELERATED AND SHIFTED GEARS, HE COULD HEAR A LOUD RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD HEARD A NOISE WHEN I HIT A BUMP AND CONTINUE HEARING NOISE WHEN HITTING BUMPS. THEN ON SATURDAY MORNING NOTICED BRAKE GRINDING NOISE THEN SATURDAY AFTERNOON WHEN DRIVING HOME THE CALIPER CAME OFF AND DAMAGED MY RIM. WHEN I JACKED CAR UP TO INSPECT I NOTICED THE RETAINING BOLTS FOR THE CALIPER MISSING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TWICE. THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANS AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL OCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS WERE ON BACK ORDER BECAUSE THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. ENGINE IS REVVING HIGH, VEHICLE STALL ON THE HIGHWAY OVER FIVE TIMES, VEHICLE OVER HEATS, VEHICLE HAS A WINNING NOISE, VEHICLE TRANSMISSION JUMPS PLENTY OF TIME, VEHICLE REV, VEHICLE HAS SLOW ACCELERATION, VEHICLE HAS SLOW START UP, VEHICLE STEERING IS RATTLING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET GOING 25 MPH AND WHEN I PUSHED DOWN ON GAS PEDAL IT FELT LIKE MY TRANSMISSION JERK AND STALLED FOR A SECOND AND THEN STARTED DRIVING NORMAL. I JUS BOUGHT THIS CAR ON APRIL 29 2015 AND IT'S AND IT'S DOING THIS ALREADY. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 9 MILES, IT DROVE HOME PERFECTLY. THE NEXT DAY I WAS LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS NOT ON AN INCLINE AND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE I LET OFF OF THE BRAKE AND IT IMMEDIATELY SHOT BACKWARDS BEFORE I COULD EVEN PRESS THE GAS. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES! I THOUGHT IT WAS A ONE TIME FLUKE BUT SURE ENOUGH ABOUT A WEEK LATER I STARTED NOTICING UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION DURING BRAKING AS WELL AS EXTREMELY HARD SHIFTING. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW BUT NOT SURE IF I CAN HER THERE OR NOT AS I NOTICED A VERY LOUD SOUND TODAY WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. THIS CAR HAS SEVERAL ISSUES THAT NEED ADDRESSED AND FAST!
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE BYPASS MY SUNROOF EXPLODED SHATTERING GLASS ALL OVER THE INTERIOR.

NEXT MORNING BRINGING BACK TO DEALER IT STALLED 3 TIMES ON REVERSE GETTING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. ONLY 100 MILES ON NEW CAR AND IT'S AT THE DEALER FOR MAJOR ISSUE, I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR SPECIAL WITH MY 5 YEAR DAUGHTER IN IT. THIS COULD HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING TRAFFIC HOURS..... AT THE MOMENT I'M WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME IT'S WAS FIST TIME THAT THEY HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM WITH 200C.

5/19 THE ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING OF NJ PARKWAY, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. TOWED TO DEALER FOR SERVICE, DEALER SAID IT WAS A SENSOR. GOT THE CAR BACK ON 5/21. ON 5/23 IT HAPPEN AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO DEALER FOR SAME ISSUE. WAS TOLD SOME PINS WERE LOOSE IN THE WIRING HARNESS. GOT THE CAR BACK ON 6/6. ON 7/6 IT HAPPEN A THIRD TIME, ON 7/8 THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CAR STILL AT THE DEALER SERVICE AREA LICCARDI MOTORS. WHEN I CALLED TO TALK TO THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD TO CLAIM LEMON LAW YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE COURTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY AFTER APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V090000 (POWER TRAIN). 1) POWER TRAIN-WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE AT 65MPH THE TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF GEAR. I HAD TO PULL OVER PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE BEFORE IT WOULD GO. IT ALSO HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN MAKING A RIGHT TURN IT POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND WOULDN'T GO. I DRIFTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD STOPPED, WENT TO PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE. THE CAR ACTS CONFUSED FORM TIME TO TIME. FROM A STOP POSITION AT TAKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AND THEN THUMPS BEFORE IT GOES INTO GEAR. 2). CRUISE CONTROL- TRAVELING DOWN INTERSTATE IN THE MOUNTAIN REGION OF N. GEORGIA, MY CRUISE WAS SET FOR 55MPH. THE CRUISE PICKED UP SPEED UP TO 70 MPH THEN THE CAR STARTED JERKING VERY CONFUSED AT WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING. THE BRAKE WOULDN'T RELEASE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I DID GET IT RELEASED ONCE THE RPM'S SETTLED DOWN. IT HAS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ON FLAT GROUND. 3) THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE THE WORST LIGHTS I'VE EVER SEEN ON A CAR. WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD YOU MAY HAVE 30 FT. THAT YOU CAN SEE IN FRONT OF YOU. WHEN GOING UP AND INCLINE WHAT SO EVER. YOUR VISIBILITY FROM THE HEADLIGHT IS APPROXIMATELY 20 FOOT IN FRONT OF YOU. TERRIBLE HEADLIGHTS. ITS SCARY GOING UP ANY INCLINE NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHAT'S 25 FOOT IN FRONT OF YOU. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED AT MY DEALERSHIP. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE HAPPEN ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION.
I AM FILING A COMPLAINT TO EXPRESS MY FRUSTRATION AND ANGER. ALSO BECAUSE IT STATES ON THE RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED THAT I CAN SUBMIT A WRITTEN COMPLAINT IF THE DEALERSHIP "FAILS TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME". THERE IS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE, THE TRANSAXLE PARK ROD. THE RECALL NOTICE ADVISED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP ON OR AFTER MAY 1, 2015 TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. I DID SO A WEEK LATER AND BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN ON SATURDAY, MAY 16TH. A FEW HOURS AFTER DROPPING OFF MY VEHICLE, I RECEIVED A CALL INFORMING ME THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT PASS THE RECALL TEST AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO KEEP MY VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS. I THEN RECEIVED A CALL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, MAY 18TH AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO FIX MY VEHICLE IS ON BACK-ORDER!!! WHAT THE [XXX] IS THAT?! I UNDERSTAND THAT MY VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED WITHOUT CHARGE BUT THIS IS AN EXTREME INCONVENIENCE AND IS RIDICULOUS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE OR A LIMITED SUPPLY OF IT. TO HEAR THE DEALERSHIP TELL ME THAT THEY ARE UNSURE WHEN THEY WILL BE RECEIVING THE PART AND THAT I'M ON THE "WAIT-LIST" IS VERY UPSETTING AND FRUSTRATING. I EVEN ASKED IF I COULD JUST GET MY CAR AND HAVE THEM CALL ME WHEN THE PART ARRIVES AND THEY TOLD ME "NO BECAUSE IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE." I WAS DRIVING ALONG A TWO LANE HWY DOING ABOUT 50-55MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. I LOST THROTTLE CAPABILITY AND BASICALLY I WAS NOW COASTING ON A WINDY AND HILLY ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF AT A SAFE PLACE BEFORE I STOPPED. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PARK AND THOUGH THE SELECTOR STILL INDICATED "P" IT WAS REALLY IN NEUTRAL BECAUSE IF I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE MY CAR ROLLED BACKWARD. MY PARKING BRAKE WOULDN'T ENGAGE AT FIRST EITHER. I HELD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AS I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. AT THIS POINT I WAS CONCERNED I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO EXIT MY VEHICLE. AS I WAS TALKING WITH ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE I KEPT TRYING TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND/OR ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE. FINALLY THE PARKING BRAKE WORKED AND I WAS ABLE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I THEN DECIDED TO TRY TO RESTART THE CAR. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF THE TRANSMISSION DEFAULTED TO PARK. SO NOW I WAS SAFE TO EXIT. ONCE THE CAR WAS RESTARTED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. WAITED NEARLY 3 HOURS FOR A TOW.
AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDDLE AND START TO APPLY PRESSURE TO MY BRAKE MY CAR SPEEDS UP AND THE RPM JUMPS UP ALSO. I WASN'T ABLE TO SHIFT AT ALL, THE SELECTOR WOULD STAY IN "P" OR THE LIGHT ON THE SELECTOR WOULD GO FROM "P" TO "S" DIRECTLY BYPASSING "N" AND "D" WITH JUST ONE TWIST BUT THE CAR WOULD STAY IN PARK. I TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR A FEW TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. AFTER CALLING CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND STARTING TO WAIT AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF TIME FOR A TOW I DECIDED TO TRY A ELECTRONIC "REBOOT" BY DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL IN THE BATTERY. AFTER LEAVING IT OFF FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES THEN RECONNECTING I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO "D" AND GET MOVING AGAIN. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ILLUMINATED AND I AM REALLY CONCERNED IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

WHERE INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS COULD NOT BE PERFORMED UNTIL AFTER MAY 1, 2015 NEEDED A SPECIFIC TOOL THAT HAD BEEN ORDERED. THEY DID INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND SAID THAT IT WAS SAFE, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AFTER MAY 1ST. ON MAY 7, 2015 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN SHE SAID THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS STARTED GOING OFF AND WARNING BELLS STARTED GOING OFF. THE WARNING SAID "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" THEN WOULD FLASH TO "SHIFT TO PARK AND ENGAGE PARKING BRAKE". THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO HAVE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE CAR WAS RUNNING BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY FORWARD MOMENTUM. THIS MESSAGE CONTINUED OVER AND OVER. SHE HAD TO GO OVER 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC BEFORE SHE COULD GET TO THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE SPOT. VEHICLE CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR/RECALL , IT WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY A WEEK TO COMPLETE. DISAPPOINTED AND VERY CONCERNED FOR MY WIFE'S SAFETY .

THE ENGINE SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL STATE WHILE DRIVING. FIRST THE "SERVICE PARK BRAKE" INDICATOR CAME ON FOLLOWED BY "SERVICE TRANSMISSION". THEN THE SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL TURNED ON (P, N, D, S ). IT WAS THEN NECESSARY TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. ONCE WHILE ON THE EXPRESSWAY. TURNED ENGINE OFF AND ON AND STILL ALL SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IT STAYED IN THIS CONDITION SO THE CAR COULD NOT BE RE-STARTED. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PULLED THE LEAD OFF THE BATTERY TO RESET. MY VEHICLE IS NOW IN THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE STALLING COMPLETELY THERE WERE 2 OR 3 INSTANCES WHERE I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND THEN TO DRIVE WITHOUT HAVING TO PULL OVER, I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING I WAS DOING UNTIL I REALIZED I HAD BIGGER PROBLEMS.

THE CHRYSLER 200S 2015 MODELS WIPER SEEMS TO BE INSUFFICIENT TO WIPE OUT THE WATER FROM THE WINDSCREEN WHILE DRIVING DURING HEAVY RAINS.DRIVING IN RAIN IS REALLY VERY DIFFICULT WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER CARS.IT MIGHT BE DUE TO THE INCLINATION OF THE WINDSHIELD THAT ALL THE WATER FROM ROOF FLOWS DIRECTLY TO WINDSHIELD AND MAKING THE WIPERS INSUFFICIENT.THIS MAKES THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER AND OTHERS TO BE IN QUESTIONS AS THE VISIBILITY IS REDUCED.

WHEN I SEARCH BY MY VIN# I DO NOT SEE THAT MINE IS INCLUDED BUT I CAN TELL YOU FROM SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE UNTIL NOW, ON A WEEKLY BASIS I WILL PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT/DRIVEWAY AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL FORWARD OR BACKWARD 1-3 FEET BEFORE IT ACTUALLY STOPS MOVING. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT EITHER THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO INSPECT THIS CAR PROPERLY BEFORE WE PURCHASED IT OR THAT THAT THERE ARE MORE VIN#S THAT SHOULD BE EVALUATED FOR THE ISSUE. ON MAY 3, 2015 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN, THE CAR STALLED AND I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF ALL STEERING AND BRAKING FUNCTION. I PICKED UP THE CAR AND DROVE IT FOR ONE DAY. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON MAY 6, 2015, IT AGAIN STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH AS I LOST ALL STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY. AGAIN, THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. SERVICE WAS CALLED AND TOOK THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT AUTHORIZED DEALER. I RECEIVED A CALL TODAY MAY 8TH THAT THE CAR WAS FIXED AND READY TO GO. I PICKED UP THE CAR AND DROVE HOME. BEFORE ARRIVING TO MY HOME, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN AND AGAIN I LOST ALL STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014 I PURCHASED A NEW 2015 200S. IN MAY 2015 I TOOK MY CAR IN TO GET THE RECALL WORK DONE AND AN OIL CHANGE AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP JERRY ULM CHRYSLER OF TAMPA AND THIS IS WHERE MY NIGHTMARE BEGINS. SHORTLY AFTER THIS VISIT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND 3 DAYS AFTER THIS THEY REPLACED MY TRANSMISSION. I PICKED UP MY CAR AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND I STARTED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CAR HESITATING AND IT WOULD ALMOST FEEL LIKE IF I WAS DRIVING A 20 YEAR OLD CAR WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THEY STATED THAT SEVERAL OTHER THINGS WERE CORRECTED. THE CAR STILL HAS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN YOU DRIVE, I TOOK IT BACK FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH A TECH. AFTER THE TEST DRIVE HE STATED "THE JERKY DRIVE IS NORMAL WITH THIS CAR". AS I TOLD HIM, IF THE CAR DROVE THIS WAY WHEN I TEST DROVE IT, I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM FROM THE GM AT JERRY ULM CHRYSLER OF TAMPA AND TO DATE I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM. THE CAR CONTINUES TO DRIVE POORLY AND THE OTHER DAY AS I WAS DRIVING, THE LETTER D STARTED TO FLASH AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. I WASNT ABLE TO POWER OFF THE CAR OR TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR FOR ALMOST 2 MINS. IT STOPPED FLASHING AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND I POWERED IT OFF. AFTER A FEW MINS, I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT WAS WORKING AGAIN.
ON A FEW OCCASIONS GOING DOWN HILL ON A HIGHWAY, THERE IS AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THEN THE TRANSMISSION WILL STALL INTO GEAR GOING DOWNHILL AS WELL. THE ENGINE WILL BE AT VERY HIGH RPM FOR THE SPEED I GO WHICH IS 45-50. OFTEN WHEN I BACK OUT IN REVERSE, THE BRAKES MAKE A HUMMING NOISE.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE INCIDENT THE MESSAGE "FAULTY TRANSMISSION WAS DISPLAYED". THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500.
