ENGINE STALLED AT SLOW SPEED IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. ENGINE WAS SOMEWHAT DIFFICULT TO RESTART BECAUSE IT WAS FLOODED. ENGINE STALLING HAPPENED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES BEFORE ENOUGH GAS WAS BURNED OFF TO PREVENT THE CONDITION. NUMEROUS REPORTS ON THE INTERNET INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND HAPPENS WHEN RAW FUEL FROM THE EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM IS INGESTED THROUGH THE THROTTLE BODY. THE EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM SHOULD ONLY CONVEY FUMES BUT A FAILURE ALLOWS IT TO CARRY RAW FUEL TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS CONDITION HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE VERY DANGEROUS. GIVEN THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD BE INSTIGATED TO ENSURE THAT RAW FUEL CAN NEVER REACH THE THROTTLE BODY VIA THE EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM. *TR
AFTER FILLING CAR WITH GASOLINE, CAR BEGINS TO STALL AND SHUT OFF. THE CAR WILL START UP AGAIN, BUT SHUTS OFF FREQUENTLY UNTIL THE GASOLINE BURNS. THEN IT RIDE NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I JUST DO NOT FILL THE CAR ANYMORE. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT'S SO UNEXPECTED. IT HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT WARNING. *TR
I PULLED INTO A BP GAS STATION TO PURCHASE FILL UP. AFTER FILL UP I PROCEEDED DOWN THE STREET AND CAME TO A RED LIGHT, WAITED FOR GREEN LIGHT, BUT DIDN'T NOTICE CAR HAD SHUT DOWN. PEOPLE BEHIND HONKING BECAUSE I HAD NOT MOVED. CRANKED UP AGAIN, CAR MOVED A LITTLE. SO TWO YOUNG MEN GOT OUT AND PUSHED ME OUT OF THE STREET AS I WAS LITERALLY A SITTING DUCK IN THE STREET. I CALLED SOMEONE TO COME AND CHECK IT OUT AND HE DROVE IT HOME, BUT IT STOPPED ON HIM THREE TIMES BEFORE HE GOT IT HOME. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS HAS BEEN AND ONGOING PROCESS FOR ME SINCE OCTOBER 12, 2012. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT AS LONG AS I DO NOT FILL IT TO THE TOP IT IS OKAY AND WILL COOPERATE. THIS IS NO WAY TO USE A CAR. I DO NOT KNOW IF THERE WAS A RECALL BUT I KNOW I NEVER RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF ONE. I CURRENTLY HAVE 42141 MILES ON MY CAR SO IT IS HARDLY DRIVEN AND I EXPECTED THIS TO BE MY LAST CAR PURCHASE WITH GAS ISSUES SUCH AS THIS WHO KNOWS. WHEN I GET GAS NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL TO GET IT HOME BEFORE IT CUTS OFF. I CAN ONLY BE THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT MERGING ONTO THE EXPRESSWAY; I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT , INJURED OR KILLED. WHAT ARE MY RECOURSES AT THIS LATE DATE. IS RECALL STILL AVAILABLE. VEHICLE STALLS AFTER REFILLING THE FUEL TANK - USUALLY ONCE WITHIN TWO BLOCKS OF THE SERVICE STATION. SOMETIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ONCE IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN A FEW MILES, THEN THE STALLING PROBLEM GOES AWAY. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING NOR HOW TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. *TR
THIS IS MESSAGE IS TO HELP YOU OUT. MY 2005 300 STALLED WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK AS WELL, AND FINALLY IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENTIRE GAS TANK FROM FRONT TO BACK NEEDED TO GET REPLACED. DONT LET THE DEALER TELL YOU OTHERWISE. MY CAR WAS FIXED AND HAS BEEN FINE EVER SINCE. EVERYTHING THAT IS BEING SAID ABOUT IT STALLING AFTER PUMPING GAS TO THE MAX AND THE WHEEL LOCKING W/O NOTICE HAS TO DO WITH THE GAS PUMP. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL JUST TURN OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE FOUND OTHER CHRYSLER OWNERS ON THE WEBSITE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE HELP. BELOW IS WHAT I FOUND ON THE WEBSITE. 1. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING AND OVER THE WEEKEND ON SATURDAY NIGHT I WAS OUT DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY HEADLIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER & COMPLETELY WENT OUT! WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT IT WAS FOR A MOMENT BUT AT NIGHT WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS (ON A DARK ROAD) A FEW SECONDS, ETC. SEEMS LIKE AN ETERNITY. THAN THEY STARTED TO FLICKER OFF/ON AND GO OUT AGAIN, BEFORE THEY STAYED ON; LIKE THIS EXPENSIVE CAR THAT I PAID MY MONEY FOR SHOULD BE DOING. IT IS A DANGER THAT COULD VERY WELL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT!! IF NOT A RECALL THAN CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE THE PROFESSIONAL COURTESY TO SEND OUT A LETTER ABOUT THIS HAZARDOUS/DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT REQUIRES US TO PAY FOR THIS SO-CALLED UNFORESEEN DEFICIENCY! NO ONE FROM A CORPORATE STAND POINT CAN SAY THAT THIS IS A DANGEROUS AND WE SHOULD SEND LETTERS TOO BESIDES POSTING IT ON THE INTERNET (NOT EVERYONE IS INTERNET SAVVY). THE LIGHTS WILL BLINK AND SOMETIMES GO COMPLETELY OFF.. WHEN I TURN THEM OFF THEY COME BACK ON..THEN GO OUT AGAIN I TURN THE SWITCH AND THEY COME BACK ON.. I WAS DRIVING WITH THE A/C ON AND IT JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT WORK AT ALL NOW, WONT LIGHT UP OR ANYTHING. SINCE THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE AIR LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AS WELL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL WAS UNABLE TO BE REMOVED BECAUSE OF A WARPED LUG NUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO MOISTURE RETENTION UNDER A DECORATIVE COVER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,400.

THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OR MECHANIC. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EMITTED A STRONG FUEL ODOR WHILE PARKED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIAL. THE FILLER HOSE THAT JOINED THE FUEL TANK AND THE PLASTIC SEAL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 176,000.
PARK LOCK OUT MECHANISM FAILED RENDERING VEHICLE NOT USABLE. THE MOUNT POINT ON THE MECHANISM FAILED SO EVEN THE OVERRIDE DEVICE WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL ON 05-07 VEHICLES OF THIS TYPE BUT THEY CLAIM MY 05 IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL (SB-10038199-2853) AND THAT THEY WILL OPEN A CASE. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THIS AS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY AFTER FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. *TR
ON JULY 17,2012 I DROVE MY VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30 A.M TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO CAMP. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME I PARKED THE CAR. APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES LATER I GOT INTO THE CAR, STARTED IT, AND PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO RELEASE MY GEAR FROM THE PARK POSITION. AS I DID THAT, THE GEAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I TRIED THIS APPROXIMATELY 5 TO 10 TIMES BEFORE GIVING UP. I THEN CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN NEW CARROLTON, MD AND INQUIRED ABOUT THE PART. I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAVE A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). AFTER BEING INFORMED OF THAT INFORMATION, I THEN PROCEEDED TO ASK THE REP. WILL THAT RECALL FIX MY GEAR FROM BEING STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. I WAS PLACED ON HOLD AND WHEN THE REP. RETURNED, SHE INFORMED ME THAT THE MECHANIC SAID NO. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK PERFORMED AT A LATER TIME. I THEN CALLED AROUND TO DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND INQUIRED ABOUT WHAT THE ISSUE MIGHT BE. I RECEIVED FEEDBACK FROM AT LEAST 3 OUT OF 5 MECHANICS WHO STATED THAT IT MAY BE THE BRAKE SENSOR FUSE BEING BLOWN OR IT MAY BE A SOLENOID THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. LATER ON THAT EVENING I WENT TO TRY AND MOVE THE GEAR AGAIN AND WAS UNABLE TO, SO I REMOVED THE CHROME PANEL THAT IS AROUND GEAR ASSEMBLY AND STUCK A FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER TOWARDS THE TOP AND PLAYED AROUND WITH IT. AS I WAS DOING SO, THE GEAR SHIFT MOVED FROM THE PARK POSITION. SO NOW I HAVE TO RIDE AROUND WITH A SCREW DRIVER IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE I HAVE 2 YOUNG CHILDREN AND WE COULD'VE BEEN STRANDED SOMEWHERE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,600. WILL BE GETTING REPAIRED FRIDAY JULY 20,2012. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE COVERING THIS ISSUE. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE KEPT LOSING AIR, SO I BROUGHT IT BACK SEVERAL TIMES. THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS FIXED, IT LASTED ABOUT 6 WEEKS AND STARTED LOSING AIR AGAIN, AFTER WEEKS OF PUTTING AIR IN IT I BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER SHOP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. COME TO FIND OUT THE ALUMINUM WHEEL HAD A CRACK IN IT AND HAD WHAT LOOKED LIKE J B WELD ON IT. I HAD TO BUY A NEW WHEEL FOR THE COST OF $355. I TOOK THE CRACKED WHEEL BACK TO THE DEALER AND HE SAID, HOW DO I KNOW YOU DIDN'T DO THAT, THAT'S WHEN I LOST IT. THEY PUT MY FAMILY AND I IN A CAR WITH A CRACKED WHEEL AND THEY KNEW IT. HE SAID WHAT WAS YOUR WARRANTY I SAID 30 DAYS AND TOLD ME TO GET OFF HIS LOT. I ASKED HIM TO JUST MAKE IT RIGHT. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS ALL FOGGED UP THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT, IT DOES NOT SHINE AS BRIGHT AS THE OTHER ONE AT NIGHT. IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE THEY PUT A STICKER ON THAT CAR KNOWING IT HAD DEFECTS WITH IT AND THEY DON'T CARE. I THINK THEY NEED THAT RIGHT TO GIVE OUT STICKERS REVOKED. I TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO CALL MY LAWYER HE SAID GO A HEAD CALL ANY BODY YOU WANT. SO I DID STARTING WITH ATE AG OFFICE I AM DEALING WITH MASSPIRG REF #131117. AT THIS POINT I WOULD LIKE THE HEADLIGHT FIXED THE MONEY FOR THE RIM AND SOOTHING FOR MY TIME AND AGGRAVATION LIKE MAYBE THE COST OF THE CAR OR THEY CAN TAKE IT BACK AND REIMBURSE ALL MONIES INVESTED BY ME. *TR

UPON PARKING THE VEHICLE AT HOME, THE CONTACT SMELLED AN ODOR OF FUEL AND NOTICED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 40,000.
STARTED CAR AND TRIED TO PUT IT IN GEAR. COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. A SITUATION MUCH TALKED ABOUT ON LINE. THE FAILURE OF THE "TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER" COMMONLY CALLED "THE PINK THINGY" ON LINE SOME OWNERS TELL OF HAVING GOTTEN A RECALL. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. HE SAID IT DEPENDED ON WHERE THE CAR WAS BUILT IF THERE WAS A RECALL. IMAGINE HOW HAPPY THAT MADE ME !!! *TR
THE CHRYSLER 300 WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. AFTER SOME RESEARCH ONLINE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK SHIFTER LEVER WAS BROKEN. THERE IS ALSO A K-39 RECALL ISSUED BY CHRYSLER BUT MY CAR DOES NOT FALL UNDER IT. I SPOKE TO CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE SPRING THAT IS BROKEN PREVENTS THE CAR FROM BEING SHIFTED OUT OF PARK IF THE BRAKE IS NOT PRESSED. *TR
CAR STALLS AFTER FUELING. THE CAR WILL DIE AND BE VERY HARD TO TO STEER, BREAK AND CONTROL. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FUEL UP. I NEVER TOP OFF, AND STOP FUELING ONCE THE PUMP AUTO STOPS. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. CASE #[XXX]. I HAVE READ SEVERAL REPORTS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 200,000 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CONTACT NOTICED A PLASTIC SPRING LOCATED IN THE GEAR SHIFTER THAT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE STALLING AND DYING WHILE DRIVING NORMAL, AND AFTER STOP LIGHTS. I ALSO SMELL GAS WHEN CAR IS STARTED. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT SEVERAL OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE ARE HAVING THE SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEMS. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL VAPOR CANISTER AND THE GAS TANK, WHICH IS POSSIBLY A FACTORY DEFECT. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FUEL VAPOR CANISTER WAS ON BACK ORDER, WHICH INDICATES THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND ADDRESS THIS POTENTIAL DANGEROUS FACTORY DEFECT. *TR
SUDDENLY COULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD TRY TO WALK ME THROUGH TRYING TO GET THE TRIM AROUND THE GEAR SHIFT APART TO GET TO THE PINK PLASTIC PIECE THAT IS TYPICALLY THE PROBLEM AND RIG IT SO IT COULD BE MOVED OR DEALER SAID I COULD CALL TOW TRUCK AND THEY TYPICALLY KNOW HOW TO GET IT STARTED. I GOT A RIDE HOME, LOOKED ON INTERNET AND SAW MANY POSTINGS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. WENT BACK TO THE CAR, FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE INTERNET TO GET TO THE PINK PLASTIC PIECE, USED A SCREWDRIVER TO MANEUVER THE SHIFTER CABLE TO GET OUT OF PARK AND DROVE IT HOME. THEN I DISCOVERED THE K39 RECALL NOTICE ON INTERNET. CALLED DEALER NEXT DAY, WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN ISN'T COVERED BY K39 AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO LOOK AT IT BUT WOULD LIKELY COST ABOUT $300. I CONTACTED MANUFACTURER AND INDICATED I WANTED REPAIR AT NO COST IF I TOOK TO DEALER JUST LIKE CUSTOMERS COVERED BY RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT UNLESS RECALL WAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY VIN, I'D HAVE TO TAKE TO DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. MANUFACTURER MADE NO GUARANTEE ABOUT COST TO BE DIAGNOSED/REPAIRED OR IF IT WOULD BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSIS. THE K39 RECALL LETTER INCLUDES STATEMENT ABOUT IMPROVING OWNERSHIP SATISFACTION AND IMPROVEMENTS IN EVERY VEHICLE THEY BUILD. APPARENTLY, SATISFACTION OF OWNERS LIKE ME WHOSE VEHICLES HAVE NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN RECALL DOESN'T MATTER AND THEY APPARENTLY AREN'T CONCERNED ABOUT IMPROVING EVERY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY MISSED MINE. REPAIR TO MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN COMPLETED THANKS TO INTERNET WHERE WE FOUND INFORMATION THAT WE FOLLOWED. WE SAVED TOWING CHARGE & DEALER REPAIR COST ESTIMATED IN EXCESS OF $300. *TR

THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD MENTIONED THE BUMPER / SKID PLATE PROBLEMS HE HAD BEFORE. I THEN WAS CAREFUL AS TO WHERE I PARKED. WELL, I PARKED THE CAR IN FRONT OF A CONVENIENT STORE AND AS I PULLED BACK, THE FRONT BUMPER CAUGHT ON TO THE CEMENT BLOCK AND CRACKED THE BUMPER AS WELL AS PULLING MOST OF THE SKID PLATE FROM UNDER THE CAR. AS I DROVE HOME I HEARD SOME PIECES FALL ON TO THE ROAD BUT COULD NOT PULL ASIDE TO PICK THEM UP OR I WOULD OF GOTTEN HIT BY A CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO A BODY SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THESE CARS HAVE THAT PROBLEM ALL THE TIME. I HAVE NOTICED THAT 99% OF THE CHRYSLER 300 THAT I SEE ON THE STREET ALSO HAVE THE SAME THING, HANGING BUMPERS AND SKID PLATES. I DID CALL TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT. I DON'T THINK THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE AND THE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR FLOOD BUT HAS DEVELOPED THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED TO FULL THIS VEHICLE STALLS. AT 3/4 FILL IT DOES NOT OCCUR. IN LIGHT OF THE CHEVY COBALT TRAGEDY PERHAPS A PROPER INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DEFECT WILL COMMENCE. AFTER LEAVING THE CAR WASH AND TRAVELING LESS THAN 50 FEET, THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH SMOKE. HER SON IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, AS IT BURST INTO FLAMES FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO BE CALLED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CONSUMERS SON LOCATED A RECALL # 04V334000. THE CONSUMER THEN CONTACTED CHRYSLER REGARDING THE RECALL AND THEY CLAIMED THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT. SHE WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT HER. AFTER NOT HEARING FROM CHRYSLER AFTER THREE WEEKS, THE CONSUMER CALLED CHRYSLER, WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED A REPORT WOULD BE SENT TO SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS IMMEDIATELY. DAYS LATER, AN INSPECTION REPRESENTATIVE FROM AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY WENT TO THE CONSUMERS HOUSE TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. ON APRIL 11, 2012, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A CALL FROM CHRYSLER'S LAWYER STATING THEY WOULD HANDLE ALL OF THE EXPENSES INVOLVING THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, THE LAWYER WAS CONTACTED AND GIVEN THE ASSESSMENT OF THE DAMAGE AND THE COSTS INVOLVED, CHRYSLER THEN STATED THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE FIRE DID EXTENSIVE DAMAGE, AND IT WOULD COST MORE TO FIX THE VEHICLE, THAN WHAT IT WAS WORTH AND WAS CONSIDERED TOTALED. *JB
