TAKATA RECALL, FCA IS STALLING ON REPAIRS FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG. AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE IN MAY 2016, I CONTACTED FCA SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY AIRBAG REPAIRED, EACH TIME I AM TOLD PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. ON MY LAST CALL OCT.17, 2016 I WAS TOLD NO REPAIRS UNTIL SOMETIME IN 2017. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, CALLED THE DEALER AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THEM TO RECEIVE THE PART AFFECTED IN THE RECALL. AS OF TODAY, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART. I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON THIS FOR AROUND FIVE MONTHS NOW. WHAT IS THE HOLD UP? WHAT IS THIS AGENCY DOING ABOUT THIS ISSUE?
MY GIRLFRIEND BROUGHT ME DRINKS FOR LUNCH SHE RAN INSIDE MY SHOP DROPPED THEM OFF AND WENT BACK OUT STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND BANG BANG CLANK CLANK....SIEZED MOTOR. GOT I TOWED HOME PULLED HEADS OFF AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW A DROPPED VALVE SEAT. SECOND TIME SAME CYLINDER OPPOSITE HEAD. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH EARLIER MODEL HEMI. MOTOR IS TRASH.

DROPPED INTAKE VALVE SEATS ON THIS HEMI ENGINE. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THE HEMI ENGINES FROM THIS TIME PERIOD. STOPPED AT THE STORE FOR 20 MINUTES, CAME OUT AND TRIED TO START THE ENGINE AND ALL I HEARD WAS METAL ON METAL AS THE ENGINE TRIED TO TURN OVER. ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REBUILT OR NEED TO BUY ANOTHER REBUILT ENGINE.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A REPLACEMENT KEY FOB, WHICH ALSO FAILED TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT POURED WATER TO STOP THE SMOKE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER-NOTIFICATION CODE K39. THERE IS A RECALL LETTER THAT CHRYSLER IS CIRCULATING ABOUT "TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER" DESCRIBING THE ISSUE OF A BROKEN SPRING HOOK IN THE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY AND IF IT BREAKS, IT WOULD PREVENT THE DRIVER TO SHIFT THE CAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE. MY CAR IS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C AND SUFFERED FROM THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND CHRYSLER'S GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER 1-800-853-1403 AND THEY BOTH SAID THAT MY CAR BECAUSE ITS A CANADIAN MODEL, DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL.
