A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A MIGRAINE THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND WAS TOWED TO ALL-STAR COLLISION SHOP. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V52000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AT SALSBURY DODGE IN BATON ROUGE, LA AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS, AIR CONDITIONER, AND RADIO ALSO FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), 15V313000 (AIR BAGS), AND 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 259,000.
STRONG GAS/FUEL SMELLS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR WORK, MIDAS SAID IT WAS THE FUEL VAPOR STORAGE CANISTER IT WOULD COST $400 TO REPAIR. THIS IS AFTER SPENDING $1700 ON A REBUILT TRANSMISSION AND $600 ON A TRANS AND ENGINE MOUNT FROM DRIVING SLOWLY OVER A SPEED BUMP AT MGM GRAND AND $600 TO REPLACE THE BROKEN FAN AND RADIATOR.
MY 2008 CHRYSLER 300C SRT DESIGN WITH THE 5.7 HEMI DROPPED A VALVE SEAT AND BROKE THE #6 PISTON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I KNOW THIS PROBLEM USUALLY HAPPENS ON SHORT DRIVING DISTANCES BUT HERE IS THAT ONE OCCURRENCE WHERE IT HAPPENED WHEN ENGINE WAS AT FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. IT STARTING MISS FIRING WHILE DRIVING AND BY THE TIME WE COULD GET TO THE SHOULDER TO STOP IT WAS BLOWING SMOKE LIKE CRAZY. THE CAR HAD 127,000 MILES ON IT BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS IT WASN'T FROM LACK MAINTENANCE. I LOVE CARS AND TAKE EXTREMELY WELL CARE OF MINE. WHEN I PULLED THE VALVE COVER TO REMOVE THE HEAD IT WAS SO CLEAN IN THE VALVE TRAIN THAT EVEN MY FRIEND WHO IS TRIPLE MASTER ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC SAID, " [XXX] THAT'S ONE OF CLEANEST ENGINES HE HAD EVER SEEN. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT MANY DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE HAD THE VERY SAME ISSUE, MAYBE JUST ANOTHER CYLINDER WHERE VALVE SEATS HAVE JUST DROPPED. TO MY UNDERSTANDING IT'S THE CHOICE IN MATERIAL THEY USED IN THE SEAT ITSELF AND THEN PRESSING IT INTO AN ALUMINUM HEAD IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES. DIFFERENT METALS HAVE DIFFERENT REACTIONS TO HEAT WHERE ONE METAL SUCH AS ALUMINUM WILL HEAT FASTER THAN THEN THE METAL USED IN THE VALVE SEAT. CAUSING VALVE SEATS TO COME LOOSE AND DROP INTO THE CYLINDER CHAMBER CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN ENGINES. HOW CAN THIS NOT BE RECALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND NOW I'M LOOKING AT $5000.00 TO GET A REMANUFACTURED LONG BLOCK AND THEN PAYING TO HAVE IT INSTALLED. I FEEL THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR VEHICLES THAT HAVE DROPPED VALVE SEATS. THERE'S NO WARNING AS TO WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN BUT REST ASSURED IF YOU OWN A 2003 TO 2008 5.7 HEMI CHANCES ARE IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TOO. I WANT WHAT'S FAIR AND THAT'S TO BE REIMBURSED FOR COST OF A NEW ENGINE. CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN ON US. NO HESITATION, NO WARNING JUST COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, PARK, REVERSE OR AT STANDSTILL! HAVE TAKEN IT TO MECHANICS AND TO CHRYSLER 3 TIMES AND THE CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHY IT'S SHUTTING DOWN! THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES DAILY.
THE DRIVERS DOOR BOTTOM HINGE HAS CRACKED OFF IT'S BASE, CAUSING THE DOOR TO SAG. WHEN DOOR IS OPENED OR CLOSED IT MAKES A LOUD CRACKING SOUND. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE HINGE IS STILL CONNECTED, BUT THE "PLATE OR OUTSIDE PART OF THE DOOR " HAS CRACKED. THIS IS WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY. JUST OPENING & CLOSING DRIVERS DOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE FELT UNBALANCED WHILE DRIVING. THE SERVICE ENGINE AND BATTERY WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROADWAY, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, INSPECTED UNDER THE HOOD, AND FOUND NOTHING UNUSUAL. THE NOISE PERSISTED AS THE CONTACT DROVE HOME. UPON ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE HOME, THE KEY WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE CONTACT HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE HER A KEY FOB. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL FOUR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT, AS WELL AS THE EGR VALVE AND GASKET, FRONT OUTER TIE RODS, AND FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARMS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE ALSO REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED HER THAT THE DEALER SHOULD REIMBURSE HER FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

NOTHING WITH A SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN/STEERING WHEEL WORK. THAT INCLUDES WIPERS/WASHER, TURN SIGNALS, HORN, HIGH BEAMS, CRUISE CONTROL OR ANY RADIO/INFORMATION CENTER FUNCTIONS WITH BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT IS ON. IN ADDITION, NOTHING ON THE DOORS WORKS EITHER.

I CHECKED MY OIL BEFORE LEAVING ON A 3 HR TRIP THIS PAST WEEKEND, BECAUSE I NOTICE THAT CENTRIPETAL FORCE WAS CAUSING MY OIL LIGHT LIGHT TO DING. I FIGURED IT MAY NEED TO BE TOPPED OFF. I CHECKED IT 3 TIMES TO BE SURE, AND THE DIPSTICK SHOWED I WAS AT THE MAX FILL LINE. WHEN THE ENGINE HAD OVERDRIVE ENGAGED, IT SUDDENLY DISENGAGED, LOSING ALL POWER. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART SOUNDED AS IF THE ENGINE WAS SEIZED UP. I TRIED TO ROLL IT TO DISENGAGE, NO JOY. HAD IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPT (110 MILES) AND THEY TOLD ME THE ENGINE WAS BONE DRY. CAN I SUSPECT THIS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH OIL SLUDGE, AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED WITH THE 2.7 LITER ENGINES?

WHILE STARTING THE CHRYSLER 300LX 2008 THE CAR BATTERY EXPLODED IN THE TRUNK.
I HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEAL ABOUT BOTH RECALLS ON MY 300 WITH NO RESULTS. I'M TOLD THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT THEY NEVER CALL. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COST IF THESE RECALL ISSUES DO DAMAGE TO MY OWN VEHICHLE OR PASENDER IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE TRIED NUMERIOUR TIMES TO GET THESE ISSUES RECTIFIED AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO MAKE HEADWAY WITH THE DEALERSHIP.
DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM IN MY CHRYSLER 300 WAS BAD AND IT WOULD COST ROUGHLY BETWEEN $1400-$1500 TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START

TAKEN CAR TO THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND THEY CAN NOT FIND SOURCE OF PROBLEM, EVEN WITH THE MECHANIC EXPERIENCING THE SERIOUS SHAKING WHILE BRAKING ON MOUNTAINOUS HIGHWAYS. INSPECTED BRAKES, TURNED ROTORS, REPLACED SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND SHAKING STILL OCCURS. SOME PROBLEM ON THESE MODELS BECAUSE MY BROTHER IN LAW HAD SAME EXPERIENCE WITH HIS 300C. NOW CAR DRIVES FINE IN TOWN AND ON FREEWAY AT SPEED. 120K ON CAR NOW.

MY RADIO HAS A HOLE IN IT. THERE WAS A POP NOISE AND THEN EVERYTHING LEAKED OUT THE CAR WAS ONLY JUST STARTED, NOT OVER HEATING I STOPPED TO TALK TO A NEIGHBOR WHEN WE HEARD THE POP NOISE AND A PIECE OF PLASTIC WAS STICKING OUT OF THE FAN AREA I LATER LEARNED IT WAS FROM MY FAN ASSEMBLY. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO A CAR WITH LESS THEN 56,000. MILES THAT GOES TO DEALERS FOR SERVICE, THIS CAR IS A LEMON. THEY HAD TO REBUILD TRANSMISSION AT 27,000. MILES, BRAKES AND ROTORS LAST YEAR FOUR NEW TIRES, AND THAT DEALER SAID I WAS GOING TO NEED FRONT END WORK, I HAVE BEEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS AND DON'T FEEL I CAN TRUST ANY OF THEM . THEY SEEM TO FIND THINGS TO DO EVEN IF NOT NEEDED . I DON'T THINK MY TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING WHEN THEY SAID IT WAS EITHER I WOULD HAVE SEEN IT ON THE GROUND AS IT SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY BUT I DO THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LEAKING WHEN I LEFT THERE,AS THERE NOT GOING TO CHANCE ME BRINGING IT SOMEWHERE ELSE . THIS CAR IS A LEMON AND I SHOULD GET A FULL REFUND. WITH ALL RECALLS NEEDED NEW TIRES AND ROTORS BRAKES ETC, LAST YEAR AND THEY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT FRONT END WORK WILL BE NEEDED . WE TOOK OUR 2008 CHRYSLER 300 IN TO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER FOR IGNITION SWITCH RECALL #14V567000. AFTER RECALL PERFORMED, THE AUTO RAIN SENSING WIPERS, REMOTE START, REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE, AUTO DIM HEADLIGHTS AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR DID NOT WORK. PER THE DEALER, THE ANTENNA CONNECTION FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPAIRED AT NO COST. HOWEVER THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR REQUIRED NEW SENSORS WHICH COST ME $514.68. I FILED A CLAIM WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY OFFERED TO PAY 50% . ALL OF THESE SYSTEMS WERE OPERATING PRIOR TO THE RECALL WORK, APPARENTLY THE NEW MODULE COULD NOT RECEIVE THE SIGNALS FROM THE SENSORS. (SEE DEALERS STATEMENT ON ATTACHED INVOICE) MY UNDERSTANDING OF A RECALL IS THAT IT IS TO BE DONE AT NO COST TO THE OWNER, IF THERE IS A COST, OWNERS WILL NOT BRING THEIR VEHICLES IN FOR REPAIR.
