TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) WAS RECEIVED IN JUNE OF 2015. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY WIFE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR CHOSE THAT TIME TO SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND IT HAS OPERATED NORMALLY SINCE. THIS PROBLEM IS THE SUBJECT OF A FIAT-CHRYSLER RECALL, # P57 (NTHSA 14V-567). THE ORIGINAL NOTICE OF THE RECALL WAS RECEIVED IN NOVEMBER, AND CHRYSLER HAS CLAIMED NOT TO HAVE THE NEEDED PARTS ON HAND EVER SINCE. I FEEL THAT THE DELAY IS UNREASONABLE, AND THAT THOSE ESPECIALLY WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DEFECTIVE PART SHOULD BE OFFERED A REPAIR IMMEDIATELY, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THERE ARE SUFFICIENT NUMBERS OF PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE REMAINING MILLIONS OF VEHICLES AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HWY 101 IN THE MIDDLE A TRAFFIC GOING ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY CARS IGNITION TURNED OFF AND I LOST ALL OF MY POWDER, STERRING, BRAKES, EVERYTHING THAT WAS POWERED BY MY IGNITION. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE LOSS OF MY STERRING. THIS HAS HAPPEN MORE THAN ONCE AND BOTH TIMES I ALMOST GOT INTO A AUTO ACCIDENT, I WAS LUCKY I AS IN THE OUTER LANE AND WAS ABLE TO STOP WITH POWER BRAKES WHEN MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THE SAID I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF JUNE BEFORE THE RECALL NOTICE'S WOULD BE SENT OUT. I ALSO HAVE A RECALL FOR MY AIR BAGS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE IN ORDER TO POWER THE VEHICLE OFF AND RELEASE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE CONTACT WAITED UP TO TWENTY MINUTES BEFORE THE KEY WOULD RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH UNTIL. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE KEY WOULD NOT RELEASE UNTIL THE BATTERY CABLE WAS DISCONNECTED. THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 15V313000 (AIR BAGS), HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH BACK IN NOVEMBER 2014. THE SWITCH BEGAN FAILING IN LATE APRIL 2015. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP (MIKE ANDERSON DODGE IN MARION, INDIANA). THEY SAID ALL THEY COULD DO WAS REPLACE THE PART WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART AND CHARGE US FOR THE PART AND THE LABOR. THEY REPLACED THE PART WITH A PART THEY KNOW IS DEFECTIVE AND PLACES OUR LIVES IN DANGER AND CHARGED US $565.00 TO DO SO. THEY SAID THAT WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PART BECOMES AVAILABLE THAT CHRYSLER MAY REIMBURSE US. THIS DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT.

ON APRIL 7, 2015 I HAD TROUBLE STARTING MY CAR. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE STARTER AND TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL SERVICE STATION WHERE MY CAR "DIED". THEY EVALUATED THE CAR AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE KEY AND WINS COMPONENT. ON APRIL 8, THE SERVICE STATION MANAGER CALLED ME TO SAY THAT THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THE PART, SO I RENTED A CAR. ON APRIL 17, I WAS ADVISED TO CALL CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. I NOW HAD A CASE NUMBER AND WAS TOLD MY ISSUE WOULD BE EXPEDITED BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE USA. ON APRIL 27, I WROTE TO THE PRESIDENT AND VP OF CHRYSLER CORPORATION ASKING FOR THEIR HELP. ON MAY 6, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MIKE AT CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS SAYING THE PART WOULD BE HERE ON MAY 13 (IT WASN'T) AND CHRYSLER WOULD PAY FOR MY CAR RENTAL (WHICH THEY DID). ON MAY 26, I WAS TOLD THAT THE KEYS WERE IN BUT NOT THE WINS COMPONENT - THAT MIGHT NOT BE READY UNTIL JULY. LATER THAT DAY, MY CAR WAS FIXED !! BUT WITH JEEP PARTS. IT COST ME OVER $1200; THE TRUNK DOESN'T OPEN WITH THE KEY; THE TIRE LIGHT REMAINS ON AT ALL TIMES AND THE CHRYSLER PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. AND I MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AGAIN ONCE THE RIGHT PART COMES IN!!!
