AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. ALREADY HAD HARNESSES REPLACED. PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS REPLACED BY RECALL. I WAS TOLD IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, MAKING THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE LIGHT IS ON REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. SOMETIMES THE AIRBAG LIGHT GOES OFF BUT IT ALWAYS COMES BACK ON. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING OFF AND ON FOR THE PAST YEAR OR MORE. I WILL USE TODAY'S DATE AS THE DATE IT OCCURRED SINCE THE LIGHT WAS ON WHEN I DROVE THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL MORE THAN USUAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ON MAY 31, 2019 I WAS PARKING MY 2012 CHRYSLER 300 IN FRONT OF A CONVENIENCE STORE.. AS I WAS ABOUT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK IT CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND ENTERED THE STORE THROUGH THE PLATE GLASS WINDOW. THE VEHICLE STOPPED DUE TO AN OBJECT IN ITS WAY. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.
CHRYSLER 300 2012 WENT INTO SAVER MODE COUPLE MINUTES LATER ALTERNATOR SMOKED THEN CATCHES ON MILD FIRE.
TIPM MALFUNCTION BURNED CAUSING SERIOUS ISSUES, NO A/C, BATTERY CHARGE LOW BUT GOOD BATTERY, NAVIGATION NO LONGER WORKS. UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
5.7 HEMI DEFECTIVE LIFTER. THE 2012 5.7 HEMIS USED DEFECTIVE LIFTERS, HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LIFTERS FAILING CAN BE FOUND ON DODGE FORUMS ACROSS THE INTERNET. WHAT HAPPENS, IS THE ROLLER ON THE LIFTER THAT ROLLS ALONG THE CAMSHAFT IS PRONE TO LOCKING UP, IT THEN GRINDS INTO THE CAMSHAFT. THIS CAN LEAD TO MISFIRES AND CAUSE METAL FLAKES TO CIRCULATE THROUGH THE ENGINE VIA OIL. IF LEFT UNCHECKED, IT MAY ALSO LEAD TO A TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. I HAVE SEEN COMPLAINTS OF THIS ON ALL CHRYSLER PRODUCTS THAT HAVE A 5.7L, DURANGO, CHARGER, CHALLENGER, RAM, AND JEEP AND FROM MY RESEARCH, I SEE THE BULK OF THESE FAILURES HAPPENING BETWEEN 80000 AND 120000 MILES, LIFTERS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING THAT SOON. IN MY CASE, AT APPROXIMATELY 160000 MILES, MAINLY HIGHWAY MILES, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, I SCANNED THE VEHICLE, IT WAS THROWING A CYLINDER 5 MISFIRE CODE, SO I STARTED SMALL. FIRST I REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, I THEN TRIED SWAPPING IGNITION COILS TO SEE IF THE CODE WOULD FOLLOW THE IGNITION COIL, IT DID NOT. I THEN TESTED MY FUEL SYSTEM, THE PUMP, THE FUEL RAILS, AND THE INJECTORS, ALL WERE WORKING NORMALLY. FOR ONE LAST EFFORT, I CHECKED MY AIR FLOW SYSTEM, THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR, THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE SENSOR, THE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR, AND OF COURSE THE AIR FILTER. ALL WERE WORKING NORMALLY. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A DODGE DEALER, THEY TORE THE ENGINE DOWN AND FOUND THAT THE LIFTERS WERE FAILING, AFTER $2,000 TO REPAIR THE LIFTERS, THE CODE STILL PERSISTS. I REMOVED MY VALVE COVER AND WATCHED THE LIFTERS AS A FRIEND TRIED TO CRANK THE ENGINE, THE CYLINDER 5 LIFTER IS NOT TRAVELING AS MUCH AS THE OTHERS, THIS TELLS ME THAT THE CAMSHAFT HAS BEEN DUG INTO BY THE FAULTY LIFTER THAT WAS REPLACED AND IS WHY THE NEW LIFTER IS NOT TRAVELING AS MUCH AS IT SHOULD. IT WILL COST ANOTHER TWO GRAND TO REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
JUST BOUGHT THIS 2012 CHRYSLER 300 AND NOT EVEN HAVING IT 2 WEEKS I FILLED UP MY TANK AND SMELLED A VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL. MY HUSBAND LIFTED UP THE BACK SEAT AND FOUND A QUITE LARGE PUDDLE JUST SITTING ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP. WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE ORING BUT WE REPLACED THAT YESTERDAY AND FILLED IT UP AGAIN AND NOTICED ANOTHER GOOD SIZE PUDDLE ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN.
STONERIDGE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM PLEASANTON, CA SOLD ME THIS VEHICLE IN MARCH 2019, SOON AS LEFT THE DEALER THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT, THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE REAR CAMERA DO NOT WORK, THE UCONNECT DO NOT WORK-MALFUNCTIONS. THE CAR WAS RETURNED AND KEPT FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS. RETURNED TO ME WITH THE UCONNECT MALFUNCTIONING, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON, REAR CAMERA NOT WORKING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. CLEAR LAKE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (15711 GULF FWY, WEBSTER, TX 77598, (281) 310-8367) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THIS VERHICLE. THE HANDS-FREE SAFETY CALLING FEATURES HAVE FAILED TO START UP. NOT CONNECTING WITH ANY HAND-HELD DEVICES, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO OPERATE THE CAR WHETHER IS MOVING OR PARKED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
MY 2012 CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED HAS HAD TWO RECALLS (T36 & V01) AT FIRST, THE POWER STEERING WAS AFFECTED AND THEN THE VEHICLE FINALLY DIED. I HAD TO STOP DRIVING THE CAR BEFORE IT DIED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION WITH THE T36 RECALL AND FINALLY, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RENEW MY REGISTRATION. I HAVE CONTACTED SERVICE THREE TIMES AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING AN OIL CHANGE, THE FILTER WAS OVER TIGHTENED, WHICH CAUSED THE OIL FILTER COOLER HOUSING TO FRACTURE AND LEAK OIL ONTO THE GROUND. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE FIRE INCIDENT. THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS PURCHASED AT CHERRY HILL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 1708 W, NJ-70, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, (856) 471-1058); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE LOCAL PEP BOYS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 259,000.
POWER STEERING FAILS WITH MODERATE ACCELERATION AND DOES NOT WORK UNTIL SPEED COMES BACK DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 25MPH
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH IN COLD WEATHER. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE DOOR OPEN SOMETIMES IT WILL LOCK AND KEEP DOOR CLOSED OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT.
WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL MOTOR IS HEARD SPINNING, SQUEAK/RUBBING NOISE WHEN I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED OR MOVING
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WARNING LIGHTS INDICATED SYSTEMS STARTING TO SHUT DOWN---WARNING LIGHTS FOR ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, BATTERY LOW, CHECK ENGINE, ETC. THEN "BRAKES" RED LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, AND CAR FELT LIKE BRAKES WERE ON. CAR SYSTEMS LOST ALL POWER AND CAR STALLED, AND I COULD NOT EVEN RUN THE "BLINKER" WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY LIGHTS AT ALL. I WAS ABLE TO SWING CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD JUST IN TIME BEFORE IT BASICALLY "LOCKED UP" DEAD AND IMMOVABLE. HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED 2 MILES TO HOME. I HAD PREVIOUSLY CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS 4 DIFFERENT TIMES TO SCHEDULE THE 17V-435 ALTERNATOR RECALL SERVICE OVER A SEVERAL MONTH PERIOD STARTING MARCH 2018. WAS TOLD TWICE I HAD BEEN MOVED UP THE WAITING LIST FOR PARTS AND THEY WOULD CALL TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT. AS OF DATE OF ALTERNATOR FAILURE DECEMBER 13, 2018 I WAS NEVER RE-CONTACTED FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING CAR IN FOR RECALL SERVICE. CAR NOW SITTING DEAD AND IMMOBILE AT MY HOME.

THE CONTACT CALLED HERB CHAMBERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF DANVERS AT 978-774-8840 (LOCATED AT 107 ANDOVER ST, DANVERS, MA 01923) AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE AND LEAVE IT AT THE SHOP. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE TECHNICIAN WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE UNTIL FIVE TO TEN DAYS AND A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,533. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

JUST BOUGHT A 2012 CHRYSLER 300 BASE MODEL ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO FROM A USED CAR DEALER. IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITANT . IT STAYS ON FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE. ONCE IT STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. IT ALWAYS GOES OUT. CAR RIDES FINE. JUST WONDERING IF THIS IS A FREE FIX AT DEALER. IT WOULD COME ON MORE WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN I STOP THE LIGHT WOULD GO OUT SHORTLY AFTER.
MY 2012 S V6 AWD WILL NOT DRIVE IN RWD MODE IT IS STUCK IN AWD ALL THE TIME. MECHANICS AND DEALERS CLEAR AND REBOOT COMPUTERS NO ERRORS BUT CAN'T FIX ISSUE? AND, CAN'T FIND ANSWERS? SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH CHRYSLER'S AUTOMATIC AWD ON/OFF?
THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT WORK DESPITE HAVING BEEN TAKING INTO THE DEALER THREE (3) TIMES FOR DIAGNOSIS /SERVICING SINCE APPROXIMATELY NOV, 2018. THE DEALER EVEN HAD IT FOR 10 DAYS WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION DURING XMAS, 2019 AND SUPPOSEDLY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM DURING THE "SEVERAL" TIMES THEY TRIED. IN REALLY SLICK, SNOWY CONDITIONS, THE SERVICE AWD LIGHT WILL COME ON, BUT ONCE I'VE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON, IT DOESN'T COME ON AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT SLICK, SNOWY EVENT. THE DEALER'S ONLY SUGGESTION IS NEW TIRES WHICH DOESN'T HELP IF THE FRONT TIRES WON'T ENGAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO DRIVE. WHEN THE AWD ISSUE OCCURS, THE VEHICLE IS ALSO DIFFICULT TO STOP WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND DIFFICULT TO START WHEN TAKING OFF. PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS, THEN STAYED OFF FOR 1-2 DAYS. NOW IT STAYS ON CONSISTENTLY (WHETHER IN PARK OR DRIVE). THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON CONSISTENTLY SINCE FEB, 2020. THIS WAS TAKEN IN AND REPAIRED FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL IN APPROXIMATELY JAN, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE-VEHICLE CRASH. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND LOWER BACK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. I PUMPED A TANK OF GAS ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO. I GOT INTO THE CAR IT WAS WAS FILL WITH GAS FUMES. THE SMELL IS STRONG WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING IN PARK. I THOUGHT MAYBE SOME GAS SPILLED WHEN I REMOVED THE PUMP SO I WENT ON HOME BUT FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS I CONTINUED TO SMELL GAS SO I RINSED THE CAR OFF TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP IT DID NOT . I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN MY CITY FOR THE TO CHECKOUT THE SMELL OF GAS. PER THE INSPECTION THE WIRES TO THE RIGHT FUEL INJECTION HAD MELTED AND GAS WAS LEAKING AND THE LEFT WIRES TO THE FUEL INJECTOR WAS WERE MELTING ALSO AND IN A FEED DAYS IT WOULD BE LEAKING GAS TOO. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALL, WIRES MELTING IS NOT WARE AND TARE. THE CAR WILL CATCH FIRE IT THE WIRES AND FUEL INJECTORS ARE NOT REPLACE, SO THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT WILL CAUSE BODILY HARM AND OR DEATH TO THE DRIVER. PLEASE EVERYONE IF YOU ARE HAVING OR HAVE HAD THIS GAS LEAK REPORT THIS TO YOUR CHRYSLER CORPORATION THIS NEED TO BE HANDLED BY AS A RECALL THIS IS A MALFUNCTION THAT ACCORDED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS VEHICLE, THEREFORE IT SHOULD NOT BE THE CAR OWNERS EXPENSE. DO THE RIGHT THING CHRYSLER RECALL THE LEFT AND RIGHT FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS.
MY HORN ON MY CHRYSLER 300 S IT DON'T BLOW IT ONLY BLOWS IF I MAKE A TURN THEN GOES OUT

AS A RESULT, CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY, STORED IT INSIDE HIS HOME, AND RECONNECTED IT UPON DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GWINNETT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (5054 US-78, STONE MOUNTAIN, GA 30087, (678) 384-4774) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 235,000.
MY CAR CUT OFF AND WOULD TURN BACK ON I PAID 250 FOR A BATTERY AND LABOR. ONCE I STARTED DRIVING IT THE CAR SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC
I TOOK MY CAR IN THE KELLY JEEP IN LYNFIELD MA FOR 4 RECALLS, ONE OF THEM WAS THE N07, WHICH IS RELATED TO AIRBAG AND ANOTHER ONE THAT I CAN NOT REMEMBER THE MOST NUMBER THAT IS RELATED TO VALVES AND EMISSIONS. WHEN I GOT MY CAR 2 DAYS LATER IT TURNED ON THE LIGHT OF THE AIRBAG AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SINCE I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO GET BACK WITH MY CAR IN THE DEALER, I CALLED TO INFORM THE PROBLEM AND SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE TO SOLVE, SO THEY I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE A RECALL RELATED TO AIRBAGS IN MY CAR AND THAT IF MY CAR HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEM NOW. AND MY CAR IS A CHRYSLER 300 2012.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 12 MPH, SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
BACKUP CAMERA, WHEN IN REVERSE CAMERA WILL NOT WORK, CAMERA WILL BE REVERSED IMAGE, OR CAMERA WILL INTERMITTENTLY WORK. VEHICLE STATIONARY, ON DRIVEWAY/ PARKING LOT.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAD AN AIRBAG INDICATOR THAT CAME ON THE DASH BOARD OF MY VEHICLE AND I RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING THE RECALL OF MY AIRBAG. I DID TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. AFTER THE AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE WAS REPAIRED I NOTICED THAT THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I DID GO BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHY THE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS STILL ON. THE SERVICE REP ADVISED ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE INDICATOR. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND DECIDED TO DO A BIT OF RESEARCH BECAUSE I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE INDICATOR WAS STILL ON. UPON RESEARCHING THE INDICATOR LIGHT, I DID READ THAT IF THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WAS LIT AND I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BACK AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SERVICE MANAGER WHO ADVISED THAT THE LIGHT WAS NOT AN ISSUE THEY COULD RESOLVE UNLESS I PAID A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $120 AND THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW AT THAT POINT WHY IT WAS ON. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND IF THE VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG AND THERE IS A RECALL WHY I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I FEEL THAT IF THE VEHICLE HAS AN AIRBAG RECALL THAT I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THAT DEALERSHIP WITH ALL THE CONFIDENCE IN THE WORLD THAT THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. YET I NOW MUST EITHER PAY OR HOPE THAT I DO NOT HAVE A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT AND HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED ESPECIALLY SINCE THE AIRBAG HAS A RECALL. I CAN UNDERSTAND IF IT'S A MAINTENANCE INDICATOR BUT IT'S AN AIRBAG ISSUE THAT PUTS THE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE IN DANGER. I NEED TO GET SOME ASSISTANCE WITH THIS MATTER. I FEEL THAT I SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN JEOPARDY.

WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, ATTEMPTED TO BUCKLE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT, BUT THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT CONNECT - THE MECHANISM INSIDE OF THE RECEIVER WOULD NOT LOCK THE SEAT BELT INTO PLACE - THEREFORE THE "SEAT BELT NOT ENGAGED" INDICATOR CONTINUED TO SOUND - SINCE THE SEAT BELT CANNOT BE LOCKED/SECURED. MECHANISM IS BROKEN, AND NEEDS TO NOW BE REPLACED BEFORE VEHICLE CAN BE SAFELY DRIVEN.

AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG INFLATOR; WEEKS LATER MY AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. UPON DIAGNOSING THE ILLUMINATED AIR BAG LIGHT, LOCAL CRYSLER DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT THE DRIVER'S BACK BOTTOM SEAT WIRING HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. IT WAS ALSO REPORTED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECENT RECALL. ISN'T THIS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT?

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN INTERNAL SHORT IN THE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS. THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A COST $550 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2018 UNDER AN AIR BAG RECALL. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT GANELY CHRYSLER AURORA (FIRST JIM, THEN MAT). I REQUESTED AN APPOINTMENT REGARDING THE ALTERNATE RECALL. JIM STATED THAT SINCE THIS RECALL IS OVER A YEAR OLD, AND THE DEALERSHIP ONLY GETS ONE PART AT A TIME, I WOULD HAVE TO CALL IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO SEE IF THEY ARE ABLE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN SO THEY COULD LOOK AT MY PART NUMBER AND ORDER THE PART IF THEY DO NOT ALREADY HAVE IT ON HAND. SINCE THIS WAS NOT WHAT JIM STATED I CALLED GANELY AURORA BACK AND SPOKE TO MAT. MAT CONFIRMED WHAT THEY OTHER DEALERSHIP TOLD ME AND SAID THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHY JIM TOLD ME TO CALL BACK IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND DEALERSHIPS SHOULD NOT GIVE CUSTOMERS THE RUN-A-ROUND OR KNOWINGLY PROVIDE INCORRECT INFORMATION.

RE: EXPERIENCE RECALL T36: I WAS TAKING AN EXIT OFF RAMP FROM THE HIGHWAY WHEN I COULD SMELL A BURNING SMELL. THE ABS, BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING. MY SPEEDOMETER WAS MOVING UP AND DOWN, MY SCREEN STARTED BLINKING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT ON ON ITS OWN AND MY CAR JUST LOCKED UP AND ALL LIGHTS COMPLETELY WENT OFF. STEERING AND BRAKES WAS NOT OPERABLE. AS I CAME DOWN THE HILLED RAMP I PULLED OVER (STEERING WHEEL) WAS HARD TO STEER, HOPING AND PRAYING THAT I DIDN'T HIT THE LIGHT POLE THAT WAS APPROX. 10 FT AWAY. THANK GOD THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ABOUT 5 FT AWAY FROM THE LIGHT POLE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN THE PARK POSITION. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THE TOW TRUCK GUY COULDN'T GET THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO TOW IT! HE HAD TO OPEN UP SOMETHING BY THE SHIFTER TO FORCE IT TO GO INTO NEUTRAL. GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY QUOTED ME A $160 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE ALTERNATOR WHICH ALSO KILLED MY BATTERY. MY CAR WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AT ABOUT 10:30AM. THE SHUTTLE SERVICE BROUGHT ME TO WORK. BY 3PM I DIDNT GET ANY PHONE CALL REGARDING THE STATUS ON MY CAR, I CALLED THEM TO CHECK. THEY SAID IT WAS THE T36 RECALL -THE ALTERNATOR IS FAULTY THAT THEY WILL TRY TO GET THE NEW ALTERNATOR COVERED WITHOUT ME HAVING TO PAY ANYTHING OUT OF POCKET. THE CAR WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BE REPAIRED UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. WELL TODAY IS THE NEXT DAY, THEY WILL REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR FREE OF CHARGE BUT IT'LL STILL BE A DEFECTIVE ONE BECAUSE I WILL STILL HAVE TO COME BACK TO THE DEALER "WHEN THEY GET THE RIGHT ALTERNATOR" AND REPLACE IT AGAIN! THIS MEANS I WILL STILL BE DRIVING MY "UNSAFE" CAR THAT COULD GET ME IN AN ACCIDENT OR BURN UNTIL THE NEW PART COMES OUT!!THIS IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! I CALLED THE DEALER MONTHLY PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING TO NO AVAIL. I FEEL LIKE THEY SHOULD PROVIDE ME A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE "RIGHT PART" COMES IN!
