TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 300 (N/A). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH WAS ACTIVATED, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS AROUND THE DASHBOARD WOULD ILLUMINATE, IMPAIRING THE CONTACT'S VISION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS MOST PROMINENT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE DISENGAGED, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS WOULD BECOME DIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO RESET THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD LEAVE THE ISSUE WITH THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER UP TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,800. UPDATED 03/01/13*LJ
STEERING WHEEL MAKES A SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS NO MATTER THE SPEED. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW 11/26/12 AND I STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASE THE 2012 CHRYSLER 300S AWD. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS IN THE DENVER AREA AND THEY ALL SAY THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE ON THEIR COMPUTER EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN HEAR THE NOISE WHEN DRIVING IT. I ALSO RECORDED A VIDEO BC ON ONE OCCASION THE DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING. THIS IS REALLY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR THAT HAS A STEERING SQUEAK WHILE I'M DRIVING. I EVEN CONTACTED HEADQUARTERS AND ALL THEY DID WAS ASK ME TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER AND CALLED TO DO A FOLLOW-UP AND I TOLD THEM THE ISSUE WASN'T FIXED AND I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING BACK. ITS BEEN 8 MONTHS THAT THIS ISSUE CONTINUES TO OCCUR! *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT IT APPEARS THAT THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE LARGE BLIND AREAS LEFT AND RIGHT (SIMILIAR TO HORSE BLINDERS). WHEN MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN THERE ARE BLIND AREAS THAT THERE COULD BE A PERSON OR CAR PARKED THAT YOU WOULD NOT SEE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS. ON CONTACTGING THE DEALER THEY SAID THAT IS THE WAY THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DESIGNED AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD COMPLAINED. IF I HAD TEST DRIVEN THE CAR A NIGHT I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT BECAUE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTER WAS JAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SHIFTED AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,499. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS APPEARED DIM AND DID NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE BLACK LINES THAT LOOKED LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING THROUGH AN OBJECT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE LED LIGHTS AND WERE WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000. WHEN SWITCHING FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE BRAKE PEDAL MY FOOT HITS THE PLASTIC SURFACE ON THE UPPER PART OF THE FOOT WELL. THIS CAN DELAY THE TIME IT TAKES TO HIT THE BRAKES. I REMOVED THE CHRYSLER ISSUE FLOOR MAT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS WOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH PEOPLE WITH SHOE SIZE OVER 11. *TR
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH CAPSULATED HEADLIGHTS, THE LEFT HEADLIGHT HAS A HALO AND LIGHT PATTERN ABOVE THE LIMIT LINE THAT BLINDS ONCOMING TRAFFIC CREATING A HAZARD. DEALER REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SAYS MANY OF THE COMPARATIVE CARS HAVE THIS PATTERN. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING TO DRIVE AND DANGEROUS FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ADJUSTED TO PROPER ELEVATION. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS VERY POOR LIGHTING OUTPUT FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. THE PROJECTOR LAMPS ARE TERRIBLE. THERE ARE NO HIGH BEAMS. THERE IS SOME TYPE OF SHUTTER THAT MOVES TO REDIRECT THE LIGHT. THE HIGH BEAMS ARE WORSE THAN THE LOW BEAMS. WORSE HEADLIGHTS I HAVE EVER HAD ON A CAR I OWNED. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT PERIOD THEN ADD SOME RAIN AND A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND IT REALLY GETS EVEN WORSE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN MANY ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THESE LIGHTS ALMOST HITTING A PEDESTRIANS AND OTHER VEHICLES. I AVOID DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT AT ALL COSTS. I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE SO I AM STUCK WITH THIS VEHICLE I GUESS. I WISH I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR AT NIGHT BEFORE I PURCHASED IT BECAUSE THERE'S NOT A CHANCE IN HELL THAT I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THAT FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN REPLACED ON THREE OTHER OCCASIONS APPROXIMATELY EVERY 10,000-12,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR SELECTOR FAILED TO SHIFT FROM THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ANOTHER PERSON WHO WAS PRESENT REMOVED THE GEAR SHIFTER HOUSING COVER AND NOTICED AN UNKNOWN PART WAS BROKEN. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION); HOWEVER THE VIN WAS INELIGIBLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PROVIDE THE PROPER LIGHTING COVERAGE WHEN DRIVING UPHILL. THERE WAS NO LIGHTING COVERAGE TO SEE FORWARD OR WHILE TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE HEADLIGHT ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO TO CORRECT THE HEADLIGHT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THERE WAS AN EIGHT SECOND DELAYED RESPONSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED TEN TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO INSPECTED THE BRAKE PEDAL WIRING IN WHICH THERE WAS NO DEFECT. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED VIBRATING AND SUDDENLY DECREASED SPEED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DECIDED TO A RECONFIGURED THE BCP SENSOR AND OTHER WIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,600.
VEHICLE NOT RECALLED ON P60 RECALL DUE TO 180 AMP ALTERNATOR BUT ALL SYMPTOMS ARE SAME. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON THEN RADIO SHUT OFF ,SERVICE TRANS FLASHED, ABS CAME ON,BATTERY SAVE MODE CAME ON,NO POWER, WIPERS CAME ON ,WHILE SLOWING TRANS WENT INTO PARK. OPENING HOOD I HAD A STRONG BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL AREA OF ALTERNATOR, IT WAS HOT TO TOUCH I CHECKED VOLTAGE AT BATTERY 1.42 INSTEAD OF 12+ SEAMS THIS PROBLEM GOES PAST THE 160AMP ALTS.THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET VEHICLE WENT ABOUT 1 MILE FROM START TO TOTAL STOP IN MIDDLE OF STREET BLOCKING TRAFFIC, COULD NOT RELEASE PARKING BRAKE TO MOVE TO SIDE OF STREET. HAD REPAIRS MADE AT SHOP WHERE IT WAS TOWED. THEY HAD TO REPLACE ALT AND BATTERY AND AN INFORMATION TAG ON ALT WAS BURNED ALSO. THE SHOP CHECKED TO SEE IF IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL WHICH IT WASN'T.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITHIN THE WIRING UNDER THE FRONT SEATS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND CHIMES RANDOMLY. IT MAY COME ON AS SOON AS CAR IS STARTED AND NOT CHIME AGAIN, OR CHIME AND LIGHT UP HALF DOZEN TIMES IN FIVE MILES. I HAVE HAD THE DEALER'S MECHANIC LOOK AT IT TWO OR THREE TIMES. IT MIGHT GO AWAY BUT COME BACK AFTERWARDS. MOTOR VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN JUST CRANKING UP AND LIGHT/CHIME OCCURS. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION. THERE IS NO DISCERNIBLE PATTER TO THESE OCCURANCES.
2012 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO OIL FILTERS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD WANDER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE VEHICLE HAS ESC. *JB ALL FOUR WHEELS WERE OUT OF ALIGNMENT. CHRYSLER DID NOT WANT TO CHANGE THE ALIGNMENT, IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE WITHIN SPECIFICATION. UPDATED CONSUMER LETTER 10/18/12. *JB THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE TO THE HIGHEST GEAR. UPDATED 01/12/13. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW, THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED. UPDATED 06/24/13

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING DURING THE NIGHT AT LOW SPEEDS OF 5 -10 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED AND ATTEMPTING A TURN, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD DUE TO REDUCED ILLUMINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WAS NO SAFETY ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT DEALERSHIP, SAID IT WAS A LOOSE WIRE UNDER DRIVER'S SEAT. FAULT CAME ON AGAIN IN ABOUT 2 MONTHS, THIS TIME DEALERSHIP ORDER AND REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE SEAT. AND ONCE AGAIN, A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE LIGHT IS COMING BACK ON, NOW ALSO THE KEY SOMETIMES WORKS, SOMETIMES DOESN'T. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE GEAR SHIFTER STICK FAILED TO SHIFT FROM THE REVERSE POSITION. IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO SHIFT THE GEAR SHIFTER STICK TO THE DRIVE POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT FOUND. THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER COULD LOCK UP IN ANY POSITION. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA16002 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT PUSHED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT BACK AND NOTICED THAT THE TRACK WERE ABNORMALLY STICKING OUT AND INTO THE REAR SEAT FLOOR BOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEATS HAD SUSTAINED LACERATIONS TO THE FEET DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE TRACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NOT A REMEDY TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
AFTER RIDING THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH FOR THE FIRST TIME, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE TO EXIT THE CAR WASH. YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE ON THIS CAR TO SHIFT FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE. AS I ATTEMPTED TO DO THIS , THE CAR WENT INTO PARK ON IT'S OWN AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK FOR OVER TEN MINUTES, NO MATTER WHAT WE DID. THIS RESULTED IN A SHUTDOWN OF THE ENTIRE CAR WASH, AND OUR CAR WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY THE VEHICLE BEHIND US. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER AT ALL LEVELS. THEY TELL ME THE CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED, PERIOD! THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR BEFORE WHERE YOU HAD TO BRAKE TO SHIFT FROM FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE. CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE SO FAR. THIS CAR HAS THE NEW 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH AN ELECTRONIC SHIFTER. THE SHIFTER IS AWFUL!!! *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE SOFTWARE WOULD HAVE TO BE UPDATED UNDER A VOLUNTARY MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. AFTER THE UPDATE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING CHIME THAT WOULD WARN HIM WHEN A VEHICLE WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY WOULD NO LONGER FUNCTION AND HAD BEEN DISABLED AFTER THE UPDATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,938.
