THE GEAR SHIFTER ON THIS CAR CONTINUALLY CAUSES THE CAR TO NOT SHIFT TO THE DESIRED GEAR, ESPECIALLY WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE INTO REVERSE OR PARK. THANKFULLY, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER, I HAVE DAMAGED MY DAUGHTER'S BICYCLE AND MY GARAGE DOOR BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK. THIS IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE FILLING UP THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL, THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE FUEL LEAK WAS COMING FROM AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CULLMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (300 BENCHMARK WAY, CULLMAN, AL 35057, (256) 615-2563). THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN OVERFLOW FILTER THAT RAN WITH THE FUEL LINES CALLED THE FUEL CANISTER. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS THE CONTACT'S FAULT FOR OVERFILLING THE FUEL TANK, WHICH CAUSED THE FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. ON OCTOBER 1, 2019, THE CONTACT FILLED UP THE FUEL TANK AND THE VEHICLE STALLED, SPUTTERED, AND RETURNED TO NORMAL. WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME, HE SMELLED FUEL AND NOTICED FUEL LEAKING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE LEAK WAS NOTICED CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE DEALER CALLED BACK AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE OVERFILLED THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SIDED WITH THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD DO FURTHER INVESTIGATING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO GET A SECOND OPINION AT ANOTHER DEALER. THE CONTACT INFORMED BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER THAT HE SAW NO OVERFLOW OF FUEL ON THE GROUND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE HORN WOULD FUNCTION INDEPENDENTLY AND THE DOORS UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE KEY WAS IN THE CONTACT'S POCKET. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE SHOULD ONLY ACTIVATE IF THE KEY WAS LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE WEEKS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON APPROXIMATELY TWELVE OCCASIONS. THE BRUE BAKER DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED PER THE RECALL THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD PROPERLY AND, ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, WAS EXTREMELY CLOSE TO CRASHING THE VEHICLE DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VISIBILITY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MADE TO HAVE HIGH VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AND PARKED, THE DOOR WAS OPENED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. AFTER RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO REVERSE AND ROLLED AWAY. THE CONTACT WAS STRUCK BY THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND FELL TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THE CONTACT'S ANKLE AND CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION, WHICH INCLUDED FRACTURED RIBS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. UPON COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND, IN SOME INSTANCES, BOTH FEET WERE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE FAILURE COULD RECUR WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAD A LOW IMPACT CRASH AFTER I APPLIED MY BRAKES AT APPROXIMATELY 2-300 FEET BEFORE THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. MY TIRES ARE GOOD AND THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD PRIOR TO THE CRASH. I SLID APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET INTO A CAR STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY, BECAUSE OF A PRIOR ACCIDENT IN MY LANE. WHEN I BEGAN APPLYING THE BRAKES, I WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH. I TRAVELED ANOTHER 4-5 SECONDS INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR! I THINK SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONED. THE COLLISION CENTER MECHANIC WHO IS WORKING ON MY CAR, TELLS ME THAT IF THERE WAS NO INDICATOR LIGHT PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THEN THERE WAS NO CODE THROWN TO THE EVENT DATA RECORDER. THEREFORE, HE SAYS THE ONLY THING HE COULD DO IS TEST DRIVE IT AFTERWORDS AND TRY AND DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, AND WE TRADED INSURANCE INFORMATION, I DROVE HOME, 60 MILES AND THE THE BRAKES WORKED FINE. WHY DID THEY FAIL THIS TIME?
CAR HAS A RECALL AND HAS BEEN STRETCHED INTO A LIMO. CHRYSLER WANTS ME TO PAY TO REMOVE PARTS SO IT CAN BE FIXED. THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY CHRYSLER. THE CAR MAY CATCH ON FIRE AS ITS A BAD ELECTRICAL ISSUE.
AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT GIVE SUFFICIENT LIGHTING WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS. IT IS DANGEROUS TO MAKE A TURN ONTO A DARK STREET EVEN WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

I HAD AN ACCIDENT AND I GOT INJURED BECAUSE THE FRONT AIR BAG WAS OPEN BY WRONG WAY AND, BURNED MY LEFT HAND.

THE CONTACT AND FIVE OTHERS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES I'VE BEEN DRIVING ALONG TYPICALLY AS THE AUTOMATIC CAR SHIFTS FOO A HIGHER SPEED THE CAR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS ACCELERATING AND IS STUCK AT 3000 RPMS. I'M CONCERNED BECAUSE EVEN WHEN I TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL IT DOESN'T SEEM TO CHANGE THE ACCELERATION.

2014 CHRYSLER 300 C. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER RECALL NOTICE. CONSUMER HAD ACCIDENT AFTER VEHICLE SHIFTER LEVER WAS PLACED IN PARK AND IGNITION KEY REMOVED. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD BEEN AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE FOR 15-20 MINUTES, WHEN HE WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE HAD CRASHED INTO A FRONT DOOR OF A BUSINESS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ERRATICALLY AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. I HAVE IT SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AFTER I FIRST PURCHASED IT IN JANUARY 2015. THEY SAID IT NEEDED AN SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT WORKED AND SHIFTED NORMAL FOR ONE DAY AND AFTER THAT I CAN STEP ON THE GAS LIGHTLY AND IT SHIFTS UNCONTROLLABLY, FROM FIRST TO SECOND AND/OR HAS TROUBLE GETTING OUT OF FIRST OR SECOND GEAR AND SLAMS INTO THIRD GEAR BY A JOLT INTO EACH GEAR. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AT STOP LIGHTS WHEN I BARELY STEP ON THE GAS AND SEVERAL TIMES IT JAUNTS FORWARD QUICKER THAN EXPECTED WITH MY FOOT BARELY ON THE GAS. OR I CAN STEP ON THE GAS PEDDLE AND IT DOESN'T GO OR FIND THE GEAR UNTIL A SUDDEN THRUST FORWARD WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND WILL BE TAKING IT AGAIN AND THEY DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER WHY IT DOES THAT. ALL THEY DO IS SAY THEY'LL RE-LOAD THE SOFTWARE AND IT DOESN'T HELP FIX THE SITUATION. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN OVERTIME. I'M AT A STOP LIGHT NOT KNOWING HOW THE DRIVE TRAIN WILL RESPOND. ALWAYS ALERT OR EVEN JUST PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVE IS WHEN IT WILL CHANGE GEAR UNEXPECTEDLY DRIVING IT WHEN IT'S NOT WARMED UP. VERY VERY DANGEROUS. THANK GOODNESS I'M A SAFE DRIVER. I CAN'T EVEN TRUST SOMEONE ELSE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR FEAR THAT WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE SHIFTING ISSUES. I PURCHASED A CHRYSLER 300 YEAR 2014 USED FROM CHRYSLER DEALER IN MESA AZ. ON 4/22/2015. THE CAR WAS WHAT WE WANTED AND WE ALSO PURCHASED THE MOPAR EXTENDED WARRANTY AT THE TIME. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE NO MENTION WAS MADE THAT THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION WOULD NOT BE SAFE AT NIGHT TO DRIVE. I HAVE HAD MANY CONVERSATIONS WITH DEALER STAFF OVER LAST YEAR AND A HALF AS TO THE PROBLEM WITH NO RESULT. HERE IS THE PROBLEM WHEN TURNING A CORNER AT DARK YOU LOSE ALL SIDE VISION IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA WITHOUT STREET LIGHTING. APPARENTLY CHRYSLER HAS BUILT A CAR WITHOUT LIGHTING THAT LETS YOU SEE ANYTHING THAT IS NOT STRAIGHT AHEAD. WHEN I BEGAN TO INVESTIGATE THIS WITH CHRYSLER REP. AS NO ONE AT DEALERSHIP SEEMED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM WE FOUND THE PROBLEM. YOU WILL SEE BY THE EMAILS I HAVE ATTACHED THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS OF PROBLEM. THEY EVEN HAVE AN OPTION TO FIX CALLED STEERING DIRECTED LIGHTING. HOWEVER I AM TOLD IT CANNOT BE PUT ON MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN THAT THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AFTER DARK IN AN AREA OUTSIDE OF CITY LIGHTS. AS YOU WILL SEE BY ATTACHED EMAILS I HAVE TRIED TO GET CHRYSLER AND THEIR DEALERSHIP TO PAY ATTENTION BUT THEY CHOOSE NOT TO EVEN TEST DRIVE THEIR OWN PRODUCT. ALSO NO ONE IN AUTHORITY FROM EITHER CHRYSLER OR THEIR DEALERSHIP HAS CONTACTED ME. ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN TOLD SEVERAL TIMES THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME FROM DEALERSHIP. TL*THE CONTACT RENTED A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ADJUSTING THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, IT DETACHED FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,819.

VEHICLE WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL MODE SET AT 70MPH. VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MINE WAS GOING SLOWER MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AUTOMATICALLY AS IT IS DESIGNED TO DO. I PROCEEDED TO LEFT LANE TO PASS THE OTHER VEHICLE (TRUCK) AS I BEGAN PASSING MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO A SPEED OF OVER 85MPH WITHOUT MY TOUCHING EITHER THE GAS PEDAL OR THE RES BUTTON OF THE CRUISE FEATURE. I THEN HAD TO CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE AND BRAKE THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN. IT WAS TERRIFYING. THIS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE DURING MY TRIP. I HAD THE VEHICLE INTO CHRYSLER BEFORE BECAUSE THE COMPUTER TURNED THE HEATED SEAT FEATURE AND HEATED STEERING WHEEL FEATURE ON WITHOUT MY TOUCHING THE BUTTONS. I WAS DRIVING APPROX 60-65 MPH WHEN VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, NO STEERING, BRAKES OR CONTROL OF CAR. I PULLED OFF ROAD (LUCKY), RESTARTED VEHICLE AND IT HIGH RPM AND VEHICLE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. TOWED VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP WHERE NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG. IN THE MAIL I RECEIVE A P60 RECALL FOR THE ALTERNATOR WHICH WERE LL THESE SYMPTOMS, INDICATING UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. GREAT!!! NOT!!!! NO ALTERNATORS TO BE FOUND. I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IS. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND TOWED BACK INTO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SEE NO ISSUES. THEY INSIST I DRIVE THIS DEATH TRAP. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD PUT THEIR FAMILY IN THE CAR AND THEY SAID "NO". SO OF COURSE I SAY BUT YOU WAN TME TO PUT MY FAMILY IN THAT CAR? AFTER TWO MONTHS OF BACK AND FORTH, I GET A NEW ALTERNATOR PUT IN. I TEST DRIVE WITH MANAGER, ALL SEEMS WELL UNTIL A WEEK LATER. THE VEHICLE HIT HIGH RPM 6000-7000 WITH NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATOR AND CAR DIDN'T GO OVER 25 MPH. YES ALL OF THIS WITH NO RENTAL FROM CHRYSLER, NO HELP FROM THEM AS WELL. BRAND NEW 2014 CHRYSLER 300 S PURCHASED 12/5/2014 . 595 MILES ON ODO TODAY, 1/17/2015. DRIVING HOME TODAY I NOTICED A SPLIT SECOND SURGE, LIKE THE BRAKES GRABBED, LIKE THE CAR LURCHED. SHORTLY AFTER I NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. PULLED OVER AND SHUT/STARTED THE ENGINE. CHECK ENGINE STILL THERE. STARTED OUT FROM THE CURB, AND THE ENGINE REVVED TO APPROX. 3000 BUT THE CAR BARELY MOVED, THE TRANSMISSION LAGGED RELATIVE TO ENGINE SPEED. [I.E.NOT ENGAGING OR SLIPPING]. GRADUALLY IT PICKED UP SPEED. STOPPED AGAIN SAME THING. TRIED TO SHIFT TO SPORT MODE WITH OUT SUCCESS....NO SPORT MODE, SO PADDLE SHIFTERS ALSO FAILED . I COULD SHIFT TO P,R,N,D. NOT SPORT MODE. A SHORT WHILE AFTER I WAS HOME, I STARTED THE CAR, CHECK ENGINE STILL LIT. WHILE STILL PARKED NOW I COULD SHIFT TO SPORT MODE. DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE IN DRIVE, BUT ECO NOT SHOWING IN INFOMAT DISPLAY. SPORT MODE/PADDLE SHIFTERS NOW WERE WORKING BUT WOULD NOT SHIFT TO 8TH GEAR. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, AND HOURS BEFORE IT TOOK PLACE.....I PAIRED MY CELL PHONE AND IT AUTOMATICALLY LOADED ALL MY CONTACTS. I USED BOTH CONTACTS AND VOICE RECOGNITION TO MAKE CALLS NO PROBLEMS. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THE PREVIOUS WEDNESDAY TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THE CAR WAS SHIFTING ERRATICALLY. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT WHEN IT SHOULD, INSTEAD THE CAR WOULD DROP OUT OF GEAR THEN HANG OPEN FOR A MOMENT BEFORE IT WOULD SLAM INTO THE NEXT GEAR. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I COULD STOP IN THE NEXT WEDNESDAY (1/14/15). ON THE 13TH I WAS MAKING THE FIRST TURN FROM MY HOME AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM FIRST GEAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD ME COME IN. MY HOUSE WAS ONLY A COUPLE MILES AWAY SO I DROVE IN THERE WHILE STAYING UNDER 20MPH. I FEEL THE GEAR SELECTOR ON MY 2014 CHRYSLER 300 IS VAGUE, CONFUSING, AND DANGEROUS. IT IS ELECTRONIC AND PIVOTS INSTEAD OF MOVING ONE SPOT FOR EACH GEAR SELECTION. IF YOU PARK AND ATTEMPT TO SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO PARK SOMETIMES IT MAKES IT AND SOMETIMES IT ENDS UP IN REVERSE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OFF WHEN YOU PUSH THE STOP BUTTON AND AS YOU STEP OUT THE CAR TAKES OFF BACKWARDS. ALSO WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE SOMETIMES IT GOES PAST DRIVE AND INTO LOW, SO I ENDED UP DRIVING FOR A TIME STUCK IN LOW GEAR AND NOT KNOWING UNTIL YOU GO TO SLOW OR STOP AND IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE STUCK ON SO YOU START LOOKING FOR THE REASON. I HAVE HATED THIS CAR ALMOST SINCE I LEASED IT IN DECEMBER OF 2014. I HAD THE HIGH BEAMS INSPECTED AT A STATE CERTIFIED GARAGE. THE MECHANIC SAID THE HIGH BEAMS WERE ODD, BUT WITHIN TOLERANCE. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, ESPECIALLY ON RURAL DARK ROADS, BECAUSE THE VISIBILITY IS SO TERRIBLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. DRIVING HOME AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER 2014, FOG CONDITIONS EXACERBATED THE PROBLEM.
