I HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR FURTHER TESTING.THE CAR TRIES STARTING BUT NEVER TURNS OVER ACT LIKE NO FUEL. I THEN HOOKED IT UP TO MY FOXWELL NT630 ELITE OBD2 SCANNER IT DETECTED CODES P0340, P2066, P0700, & P0461 CODE P0340 CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR (PART REPLACED). CODE P2066 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR B (PERFORMANCE). CODE P0700 TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM. MY 2005 VEHICLES BUILT IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER OF 2004 ARE BEING RECALLED TO CORRECT A DEFECT IN THE SECONDARY FUEL PUMP MODULES, WHICH MAY HAVE AN IMPROPER PRESS FITTING ON THE INLET THAT CAN BECOME DISLODGED AND SHUT-OFF FUEL FLOW. TAKATA RECALL THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND BANGS WHEN STOPPED, ALSO WHILE STOPPED THE CAR REGISTERS 20MPH. WHEN DRIVING SPEED REACHES 60MPH THE CAR HAS POWER SURGES AND SHUTTERS, THE CAR MAKES A LOUD WHINING NOISE WHILE DRIVING LIKE IT IS STUCK IN HIGH GEAR. THE CAR HAS A HIGH RPM SPEED OF 4-6RPMS WHILE DRIVING. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AT ALL TIMES.

SMOKE CAME OUT FROM BACK PASSENGER REAR TIRE. LET MY CAR SIT OVER NIGHT TRIED TO START IT THE NEXT MORNING, AGAIN IT WOULD NOT START. I HAD IT TOWED IT INTO SHOP THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM I HAD LEFT MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR A WEEK OTHER MECHANICS DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM. LATER THEY TOLD ME I NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. CAR WAS STATIONARY IN RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. TRANSMISION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE SIMPLE RELEASE MECHANISM DID NOT HELP. TOOK CONSOL APART. AS DESCRIBED ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS, COULD SEE THAT THE PINK PLASTIC PART WAS BROKEN SO SPRING DID NOT OPERATE. FOUND OPENING SO I COULD ROTATE THE PINK PART WITH FINGER AND GET OUT OF PARK. THIS PROBLEM SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE PROBLEMS COVERED BY RECALL K39, BUT MY MODEL IS APPARENTLY NOT COVERED. WHY IS IT NOT COVERED? SHOULD CHRYSLER COVER THE REPAIR?
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY (DRIVING 45 MI/HR), IT STOPPED MOVING ACCELERATING (SEEMS LIKE THE CAR IS ACTUALLY SLOWING DOWN) EVEN WHEN I WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. AND THEN THE CAR STALLED.......IT WAS A GOOD THING I WAS ON THE VERY RIGHT SIDE OF THE LANE. THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND/OR THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE MAY ALLOW THE ENGINE TO STALL UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. DEALERS WILL NEED TO REPROGRAM/REPLACE THE PCM/TCM AND/OR REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP MODULE TO CORRECT THIS CONCERN. IN MOST CASES, ASIDE FROM STALLING AND ENGINE REVVING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN, THERE'S A LOT OF HARD JERKING WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE ENGINE HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN SINCE WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE OR DELAY IN MOVING FORWARD AND IF I LET GO OF THE GAS, THE CAR MOVES FORWARD. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN.

THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO BERGSTROM USED CAR SUPER CENTER OF APPLETON (2925 N VICTORY LN, APPLETON, WI 54913, (920) 749-3232) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME HAD EXTENSIVE RUST, HOLES, AND CORROSION THAT COULD AFFECT THE MOTOR, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS WITH MINIMAL ISSUES. ALL OF A SUDDEN THREE DAYS AGO, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ACCELERATOR STOPPED WORKING.
