First of all, I would like to say that I received an "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" notice citing that "certain 2022 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles failed to perform" However, my car's problem, though similar, is not quite the same as the problem mentioned by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard" - rear visibility. My car's DRIVERS' SIDE VIEW mirror is the one that poses the problem. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the right-side view mirror adjusts so that I can see the right backside of the vehicle. This, unfortunately, does not occur with the left sideview mirror. I can only see the ground. This an obvious determent to the safety of not only myself, but others as well. When I reported this irregularity to Hunter Dodge, I was told that was just the way the mechanism worked. I was told that there was nothing they could do. No one bothered to check it out. No one seemed concerned. This has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle. I don't know if anyone else has this same issue; but I feel that I am not the only one. This functionality necessary for the prevention of serious injury to pedestrians and/or property. Thank you, in advance for receiving this information.
The vehicle will randomly stall out. We took it to the dealer to get it fixed, they kept it for a month and did a software update. It's been 2 weeks and it stalls out about 6 times a week still. It's very dangerous and we can't even use it on the highway. Only backroads. Chrysler and the dealership have said it can't be fixed and they are not taking responsibility.
Car losing its Motive Power @ highway speed. Have multiple videos. It Start happening on Saturday 1/21/23. ON Monday drove car to local dealership they told did software update. That did not fixed. New recall they don't have any parts or information on it. Bringing car back to local dealership on 1/25/2023. Car is unsafe to drive on Highway speed. Dealership service department told me they don't really know what todo. Chrysler Custumer service advice if the not able to fix the car bring it to independent repair shop for brand new car less then a year old.
The vehicle was running while I was drove in the freeway. Suddenly, the screen dash kept pop up an message" shift to P, push the bottom to restart" the "D" kept blinking. The vehicle was slowing down even I stepped in gas. I had to parked to Emergency Parking on Highway immediate. Then I pushed the Power bottom to turn off the car. Then cannot back on. After 2 - 3 hours, the tow truck came, he able to restart the car. The car end up tow to the dealership that located in Pleasanton CA. But the dealership still have not to diagnose of my car since when the car been towed to their shop for 7 business day from now. No answer giving at all. Also Never receive Safety Recall noticed by mail, by text or by email.
This is a Plug in Hybrid vehicle (Rental from Avis). I was driving on freeway today January 13, 2023 and vehicle lost all propulsion (did no respond to accelerator being depressed) with warning message on screen "Press Brake and Push Button to Start" and "Shift to P to Start" while at 64mph. Vehicle was slowing down and would not accelerate when pushing on the accelerator pedal. Happened twice during 20 min drive into work. I was able to have my phone ready and took pictures of the warning screen the second time. Pulled off to the side of the road to be able to switch the car to "P", turned off the the car with the push button and then restart. Notes: 40 degrees F 10 minutes into drive Heated Seats ON Rained the night before, damp in the morning This issue occurred on January 10th as well and had to pull off and restart as well.
It seems that some of the standard safety features are unavailable or missing due to some reason which is mentioned in the optional equipment. below two things seem to be missing: 1. Safety sphere 2. ParkSense Rear Park Assist Additionally, there is also a recall on this vehicle regarding the safety issue. Dealer is denied to make any changes or repair to the vehicle. Please investigate the matter as these are major safety issues.
Power steering went completely out. Vehicle has only 6300 miles on it. Luckily we were driving slow and very close to home. Vehicle is almost impossible to turn. This could have been extremely catastrophic if wife or daughter were driving on highway.
The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at 80 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The following day, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was vibrating and the brakes failed to immediately stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brakes caught fire, and there were flames coming from the brake calipers. The contact was able to put out the fire with a hose. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it remained for twenty-one days; however, no cause of failure was found. The failure recurred, and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who recommended the contact stop driving the vehicle as it was unsafe on the roadway. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and dispatched an inspector to the dealer to inspect the vehicle, but the report was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
When it is unusually cold, the heater fails to heat the hybrid battery sufficiently to register the correct voltage. This causes the car to enter “turtle” mode- a special mode that limits the car to 30 mph. It’s designed to allow the driver to get to a dealership. When we were driving at highway speeds about 70mph, during a particularly cold day, the turtle mode dropped us suddenly to 30 mph. This nearly caused an accident as we almost lost control of the vehicle on ice and snow. It was so sudden we had to swerve into the side of shoulder.
The vehicle lost power while driving on the highway. My wife had to coast off the highway.
2022 CHRYSLER PACIFICA- Consumer submitted "motor vehicle defect notification form. The notification is in reference to "engine issues". The vehicle has been out of service at least 15 days to repair one or more substantial defects. 3 or more repair attempts have been made to repair the same substantial defect or condition.
at 5k miles, the engine light came on, and error message was a engine misfiring. This caused significant difficulty to drive. took it to Chrysler dealership. They ended up saying it was an transmission issue and replaced the entire transmission.
When locking vehicle and arming the alarm up on returning to vehicle in a parking lot no matter where. Upon return to vehicle before unlocking we notice vehicle rear tailgate is wide open. This has happened multiple times with a dealer not finding any cause. Now on our second case to have looked at. This is not good as anything in the vehicle is open to theft with me having no control of it. Happened on the road traveling to FL from IL leaving all of our belongings visible and available to take. Not good had luggage tools, guns all easily stolen.
Driving down the highway at 80 mph, the engine suddenly quit. The check engine light and battery light illuminated after the engine had quit. I was able to coast to the shoulder. Once stopped the ignition could not be turned off to try to restart the van. It would only move from Run to ACC. After sitting without touching anything for 4-5 minutes, the Ignition indicator moved to Off and then was able to be restarted. This is the third occurrence, the first happening while stopped at a red light and the second in a parking lot when shifting from reverse to drive. The dealer agreed to pick up the van from my work and drive it to their service center. The van quit on that driver once on the return trip. The van had just been in service for 36 days and was returned as operational with no defects on October 19, 2022. The parking lot event occurred 5 days later on October 24 and the highway shutdown on October 26. This is obviously a major safety risk. If I had not been driving at 0500 with minimal traffic the outcome could have been worse.
On Oct. 9, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m. EDT, I was braking as I approached a stop sign. For the first second or two of braking, the van slowed normally. Then, as the van was nearly stopped at the stop sign (probably 10 feet ahead of it, and approx. 5 mph or less), while my foot was still gently depressing the brake pedal, the van began to accelerate on its own. In response, I stepped down hard on the brake, lurching the van to a stop. After the hard stop (and explaining it to my family), I gently accelerated through the intersection and parked the van in my driveway. (The stop sign was 2 houses from home.) This was on a residential street, 25 mph speed limit, clear day, dry pavement. Before applying the brakes I had been coasting down the street between 20 and 25 mph. There was no other traffic and no pedestrians. When the van accelerated on its own, we had nearly but not completely come to a stop yet. My foot was still gently depressing the brake to come to a smooth stop. Neither the accelerator nor the cruise control was engaged. With unwanted acceleration while the brake is depressed, I do not think the vehicle is safe to drive. Today (the next morning) I am in the process of calling to have it flatbed-transported to the dealer for inspection. The van is brand new; we've had it 5 weeks, it has 698 miles. No problem or warning prior to this.
I purchased this van brand new. On the day I picked up on a Saturday and very excited! Sunday I went to go out and it didn’t start! Called the dealer on Monday and they sent out someone to jumpstart it and it wouldn’t start. It was towed to dealer and it was told it was the pcm that needed to replace. Work was done and it seemed fine. As I was driving on a trip from Chicago to Vegas with my grandchildren on two and a half day trip! The navigation system would shut down and reboot this has happen 5 times while driving. Making me lose my route. Then one day about two weeks ago it wouldn’t start or lock. After numerous times finally got it started but it wouldn’t lock so I and drove it to dealer. They hooked it up and could not find anything on the monitor. Then drove it back home and the same thing happened! So again I drove it to the dealer and again nothing showed up! This is very scary that it is happening and no explanation. The dealer says if we can’t recreate it then we don’t know what is going on! I need help on finding out why this is happening.
On more than one occasion when I was on a four-lane highway with no vehicle in front of me in my lane, while I was passing a slower moving vehicle in the outer lane, my vehicle slammed on the aes brakes and would have absolutely caused a crash if there would have been a vehicle behind me. That person could have no possibly reacted fast enough to prevent his vehicle from rear-ending my vehicle. Again, there was no one in front of me, only the vehicle in the outer-lane. As far as the rear-cross-traffic problem, my vehicle is one that is missing Chrysler's Sphere and rear-parking-assist because of the chip shortage. There aren't any sensors in the back bumper at all and I'm not sure what triggers the rear-cross-traffic alert, but it does not alert until I've backed up so far from my parking space that if there was a car coming quickly it would surely hit me. This system does not work any where as quickly as any other car I've had it on in the past.

Was driving home and accelerating when there was a mechanical "thump" noise and the vehicle MIL indicator came on with a "red turtle" indicator on. Vehicle speed/performance was immediately reduced and I was not able to maintain a safe speed or have enough power to travel at appropriate speeds when hills were involved. This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle. The dealer has already looked at the vehicle prior and claimed they found the issue and resolved it. Since it occurred again the issue has clearly not been resolved or properly identified.
The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the Check Rear Passenger's Seat message displayed. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment. The contact related the failure to the engine; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 250.
Traveling down a country road on a clear afternoon, the vehicle traveled approximately 35 mph while cresting a small hill. On the other side of the hill was a "T" shaped intersection where another vehicle stopped in the intersection from a stop sign several feet behind. The other driver failed to complete the turn when they saw oncoming traffic. The driver noticed the intersection had an obstructed path and attempted to move into the oncoming traffic lane since no oncoming traffic was visible. Just then, the onboard computer installed in the control panel of the drivers seat had acted upon either the obstruction or the switch in lanes and assumed complete control of the braking and steering systems. The driver was unable to retrieve control from the computer systems artificial intelligence before a direct crash occured with a telephone pole. Rendering the vehicle dangerous as live wires draped the saturated earth below the tires and feet of passengers exiting the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no follow up has been made. Neither the police or insurance representatives have been helpful or any investigation made into this account. There were several lights, sensors, noises, and messages that were flashing and beeping but none were able to be understood before the sudden impact.
Was driving down I-270 with family when the vehicle immediately registered a fault that the hood was open and unable to charge/condition battery. All engine power and speed control was lost at highway speeds and was barely able to get out of the way of traffic. I was able to coast to the shoulder without injury or accident with a few near misses. Opened / closed the hood at the side of the road and the fault didn't clear. 5-10 minutes later vehicle cleared the error and I was able to drive to a local dealership who told me "there is nothing they can do for me". The best option I had after talking with the Chrysler dealership was to to drive home praying my family didn't get stuck again.
Started van with remote start to warm it up,and went to it in 5minutes,got in pushed dash button and put it in drive but THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. Drove it 500 ft,and still no power steering. The Van had been sitting for 3 days without use.
Red turtle icon appears on dash with message “Vehicle Speed may be Reduced” repeatedly. Check engine light has come on after about the tenth time seeing the red turtle appear then go away. Vehicle has has not lost any ability to drive normally once engine light came on. A week after engine light appeared the red turtle still coming on and off and vehicle will lose power when turtle icon is on. This is a danger to my family if this persists. I have 3 kids in booster/ car seats and to suddenly lose power could be catastrophic in certain situations. Have an appointment to take on for service on 4/27/22 at Len Stoler Chrysler in Westminster MD
While reversing out of driveway with 4.3 deg. to 5.5 deg. down slope, car stopped with rear in street while displaying an apparent rear collision symbol. There was no cross traffic and a car parked along the curb on passenger side was not encroaching on driveway. Car then refused to move either further back to complete the street entry maneuver or forward to re-enter the driveway. Car was left in a dangerous position part way into the street and blocking sidewalk. Car could not be moved until ignition was turned off for 10 seconds, then turned back on. At that point car was first pulled fully forward into driveway, then successfully backed out into the street and driven off.
22' Pacifica has advanced front brake assist . It does not work. I have tried and it only sets off a audible warning noise and dash says BRAKE. NO braking assist like it was stated it would have. I took it back to dealership 3 times now and have been told every time it has no codes. This safety braking does not work. The settings are all on . But there is no assist braking at all.
On 2/24/2022, we were merging onto the highway when the van powered itself off. The engine light came on. We pulled over, got the van back on, and pulled back onto highway. Almost immediately, the van shut itself off again. On 2/25/2022, on the way to the dealership, the van once again powered itself off on the highway. After arrival to the dealership, the technician said he found a loose cable connecting to the transmission and apparently fixed it. On 3/2/2022, the van shut itself off yet again in the middle of an intersection. In each of these cases, we have been risking get hit by other vehicles. Had we not been able ?to pull off the highway in time, we could have been hit full speed while our van was completely shut off in the middle of the highway. When the van shuts itself off, it takes a while to be able to power it back on. There is no warning to when it will shut off.
The car stalled while driving. I was driving down a city street and the engine cut off and a message on the dash read "Put Vehicle in P to start." I pulled over and it took several minutes to get the car to restart. This happened several times on the way back to the dealership (we had only just bought the car the day before). Our safety and that of others on the road was put at risk because we were stopped in the middle of traffic and were unable to move. Pulling over across traffic once the car had stalled was also dangerous because I could not propel the car forward. I did manage to steer the car to the side of the road. After this happened several times in the course of a few blocks, I called for roadside assistance to tow the car back to the dealership. After the incident happened, the "check engine" light came on. The car is currently at the dealership awaiting repair.
