REAR QUARTER WINDOW IS POPPING OUT, IT IS LEAKING AND HAS A GAP ALIGN THE TOP I HAVE DUCT TAPED IT IN PLACE TO PREVENT IT FROM COMING OUT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 95 THE LEFT REAR QUARTER WINDOW SEPARATED FROM MY CAR. I VERY THANKFUL ANOTHER CAR WAS NOT FOLLOWING CLOSING. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN UGLY. WHILE DRIVING YESTERDAY, THE LEFT REAR QUARTER WINDOW FELL OUT. CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL NO. G01 FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND I WAS TOLD BY THE CHRYSLER REP THAT THE WINDOWS ON THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL AND THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME. THE REPAIR WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY OR THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE NOT SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, AS VEHICLES SHOULD NOT HAVE WINDOWS FALLING OUT OF THEM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. MECHANIC IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS A FAULTY INTERMITTENT WIPER SWITCH THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND HAD TO BE ORDERED THROUGH CHRYSLER. THE VEHICLE IN UNSAFE TO OPERATE WITHOUT WIPERS BECAUSE WE LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT IS NOW RAINY SEASON AND IT RAINS NEARLY EVERY DAY. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT GET THE PART DESPITE MANY CALLS TO CHRYSLER, AND WE CONTACTED EVERY DEALER/JUNKYARD IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA TRYING TO GET EITHER A NEW OR AFTERMARKET PART WITH NO LUCK. WE NOW HAVE NO WAY TO GET TO WORK, AND IF WE DO DRIVE TO WORK, WE GET STUCK OFTEN SITTING BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IF/WHEN IT RAINS BECAUSE WE CANNOT DRIVE WITHOUT WIPERS. WE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATE A FEW DAYS AGO AFTER GETTING THE RUNAROUND FROM DEALERS FOR TWO MONTHS, AND LEARNED THERE ARE SEVERAL HUNDRED BACKORDERS FOR THIS VERY SAME PART ALL WITH OWNERS WHOSE WIPERS DON'T FUNCTION! ! THIS IS A HEALTH, SAFETY AND HAZARDOUS ISSUES, PARTICULARLY FOR CUSTOMERS IN TROPIC CLIMATE IN SOUTHEASTERN U.S. WHERE RAINY SEASON LASTS FOUR MONTHS! THE PART NUMBER IS 5019-710AA. HOW CAN CHRYSLER BE ALLOWED TO DENY OWNERS THE ABILITY TO FULLY ENJOY THEIR CARS BY FAILING TO PROVIDE PARTS FOR A LATE MODEL CAR? THE PLASTIC USED FOR THE WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLES ON THE CHRYSLER PT CRUISER GT MODEL IS NOT CORRECT FOR THE APPLICATION, IN THAT THE EXTRA HEAT UNDER THE HOOD FROM THE TURBO CHARGER CAUSES THE PLASTIC TO BECOME WEAK AND CRUMBLE, WHICH RESULTS IN WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID LEAKING DOWN ON TOP OF AN ELECTRICAL PANEL LOCATED ON THE FIREWALL OF THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH ULTIMATELY RESULTS IN A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE CORNER PANEL WINDSHIELD, STATING THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT DUE TO THE 3-D ANGEL STICKERS ON HER GLASS, THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT IT IS DANGEROUS TO NOT HAVE A WORKING WINDSHIELD, AND THE DEALER SHOULD FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR RECALL REPAIR REGARDLESS OF THE STICKERS. THE VIN AND RECALL NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 68,000.

ROLLING DOWN THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW ON MY 2005 PT CRUISER CONVERTIBLE 2-DR WHILE THE FRONT WINDOW IS UP CAUSES THE INSULATING STRIP BETWEEN THE WINDOWS TO SLIDE OFF THE BACK WINDOW AND STICK IN THE WINDOW MOUNT. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO EVALUATE THE PROBLEM, AND THEY SAID THE WINDOWS WERE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT WHICH CAUSED THE SEAL TO STICK, AND SUGGESTED IF I DIDN'T WANT TO PAY $500.00 TO FIX IT I COULD PUT ADHESIVE ON IT. I HAVE A FEAR IF MY CHILDREN SHUT THE DOOR HARD THE FRONT WINDOW WILL BREAK FROM SLAMMING AGAINST THE EXPOSED METAL ON THE SIDE OF THE BACK WINDOW. *JB
