TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, A LOUD POPPING AND ROLLING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT NOTICED PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD FALLING AND CRACKING FROM THE DRIVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TOWARDS THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,556.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH SHE HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WENT TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE WAS WELDED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. HE NOTICED THE ROCKER PANELS WERE STARTING TO RUST AND TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. IT WAS VERIFIED THATT THE ROCKER PANELS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL, HOWEVER THEY DID OFFER TO ASSIST WITH A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE REMAINDER OF THE REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,851 AND THE CURRENT WAS 90,155.
I WANT TO SUBMIT A SAFETY REPORT ON MY 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING, LX...TRUNK HYDRAULIC HINGES FAILURE. ON 15 JUL 09, MY WIFE TOOK A SOLID BLOW FROM THE TRUNK LID CLOSING IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHE OPEN IT TO RETRIEVE GROCERIES FROM THE TRUNK. I REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO OLIVER C. JOSEPH CHRYSLER, BELLEVILLE, IL PARTS DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD ME TO SEND INFORMATION TO YOU ALL. MY WIFE IS STILL GETTING HEADACHES FROM THIS BLOW TO HER HEAD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE REPAIRS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL. IT WAS LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FENDER AND WAS 12 INCHES LONG AND 4 INCHES WIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE, NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,500. WHEN I TRADED IN MY 2003 MAZDA SUV ON JULY 28, 2007, I DID SO IN GOOD FAITH THAT I WOULD GET A FAIR TRADE. I DISCLOSED INFORMATION REGARDING THE MAZDA SUV TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY AUCTION (ACA CARS) SALES DEPARTMENT. MY CAR JUST HAD ITS OIL CHANGED, ITS TIRES WERE BRAND NEW, ITS BRAKES AND PADS WERE IN WORKING PROPER ORDER. I HAD EXPECTED THE SAME COURTESY AND RESPECT FROM THE CAR DEALERSHIP. I TRAVELED FROM SACRAMENTO TO DUBLIN BECAUSE I PUT MY TRUST IN THIS DEALERSHIP AND HAD FAITH THAT IT WOULD SELL ME A CAR THAT HAD PASSED THEIR SAFETY INSPECTION. HOWEVER, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FELT BETRAYED WHEN I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE WAS HELD BY VELCRO TAPES. I WAS EMOTIONALLY DISTRESSED OVER THE THOUGHT OF WHAT MIGHT AND MAY HAPPEN IF I DID FURTHER DRIVING, FEARFUL THAT THE FRONT BUMPER WOULD DROP OR "FLY OFF" WHILE I WAS ON THE ROAD. I COULD HURT MYSELF AND EVEN OTHERS. I WAS FURTHER DISAPPOINTED BY THE REACTION OVER THE PHONE BY THE SAME PERSON WHO SOLD ME THE CAR. TO IMPLY TO ME THAT I COULD HAVE DONE THE DAMAGE MYSELF, REPAIRED THE FRONT BUMPER WITH VELCRO, AND PUT THE BLAME ON THE CAR DEALERSHIP WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. THE VELCRO-BUMPER SITUATION COULD BE JUST THE "TIP OF THE ICEBERG." I NO LONGER HAVE ANY TRUST LEFT IN THIS CAR DEALERSHIP AND AM WONDERING WHAT OTHER "HIDDEN" FLAWS THEY DID NOT DISCLOSE. AS A CONSUMER, IT IS MY RIGHT TO BE FULLY INFORMED OF ALL ASPECTS REGARDING THE CAR THAT I PURCHASED. I BELIEVE THAT THIS DEALERSHIP HAS NOT ONLY FAILED TO GIVE ME THAT RESPECT, IT HAS ALSO DEALT ME WITH A FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION. *JB

SINCE APPROXIMATELY 2004, THE PAINT BEGAN WEARING OFF (NOT PEELING) THE ROOF OF MY 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THEY SAID CHRYSLER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CLEAR COAT THAT YEAR, AND AT THIS POINT NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. THE SPOT REMAINED THE SAME IN SIZE, BUT CONTINUED TO WEAR DOWN TO THE METAL. I ASSUMED I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE SPOT REPAINTED. THIS WINTER, APPROXIMATELY 3/4 OF THE ROOF DOWN TO AND INCLUDING PART OF THE TRUNK AND REAR FENDERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME WEARING AWAY OF PAINT THAT THE ROOF HAS. AT THIS POINT, ABOUT 2/3 OF MY CAR NEEDS TO BE REPAINTED. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I FOUND ENUMERABLE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR BLACK CHRYSLER SEBRING COUPES JUST LIKE MINE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I WANT MY CAR REPAINTED BY CHRYSLER. I FEEL THAT THE DEALERSHIP MINIMIZED THIS PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO MAKE IT RIGHT WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION. THE PAINT ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR IS WORN DOWN TO THE BARE METAL. *TR

HOOD ASSEMBLY WOULD LOSE BOLTS WHEN OWNER WOULD EITHER RAISE OR SHUT HOOD. OWNER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ALONG WITH THE BOLTS THAT POPPED OFF. *AK *JG
