TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING ON JUNE 21, 2008 THERE WAS SMOKE PRESENT UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. SHE OBSERVED THAT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE UNDER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER CONFIRMED WITH THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO HER VIN. THE DEALER INSTRUCTED THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEM; HOWEVER, THE DEALER LATER ADVISED THEM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE AWAY SINCE THE DAMAGE WAS SO MASSIVE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO OBTAIN A RENTAL CAR. THE DEALER LATER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE HER WITH A RENTAL CAR UNTIL AN INVESTIGATOR INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. AN INVESTIGATOR HAS NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE SINCE THE FIRE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 32,000.
I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING BOUGHT NEW IN OCT 2007. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A CONSTANT VIBRATING PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND/OR TIRES SINCE MAY 2008 AND I DID NOT KNOW MY BRAKE SYSTEM WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY UP TO 18,000 MILES SO I TOOK IT A FIRESTONE DEALER. AT THE TIME I HAD 15,000 ON MY SEBRING AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY BRAKES WERE WEARING DOWN DUE TO MY ROTORS EATING MY BRAD PADS AND I WOULD NEED THEM TO BE RESURFACED. SO I PAID OUT OF POCKET $120 TO HAVE THEM RESURFACED AND CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THEN WHEN I HAD TIME I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER IN AUGUST 2008 AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD NEED NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES BECAUSE FIRESTONE DID NOT PROPERLY PUT THE BRAKES BACK ON OR SOMETHING WITH THE BRAKER SLIDER BRIDGE. WELL COME TO FIND OUT FROM THE MANAGER AT FIRESTONE, THAT MY ROTORS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE AND IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT FROM THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION. WELL I HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED BECAUSE I WORK AN HOUR AWAY FROM MY HOME AND DEPEND ON MY VEHICLES LIABILITY. I COULD NOT STAND DRIVING 2 HOURS EVERYDAY WITH CONSTANT VIBRATION. SO I PAID $288.00 TO HAVE MY ROTORS REPLACED AND FIRESTONE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO THROW IN THE BRAKES FOR FREE. WELL HERE IT IS OCTOBER 18, 2008 AND I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND INFORMED THEM OF MY PROBLEMS AND THEY JUST DO NOT SEEM TO CARE. I HAVE BEEN THE ROUTE OF THE DEALER AND I KEEP GETTING THE RUN AROUND. WELL WHEN I STEP ON MY BRAKE MY VEHICLE SOUNDS LIKE IT IS REVVING UP AS IN ACCELERATION BUT STILL SLOWS DOWN, WHEN I MAKE LEFT HAD TURNS I HEAR A CLUNK IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THAT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BECAUSE APPARENTLY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE DAY MY BRAKES MAY FAIL WHEN I AM DRIVING AND I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. I NEED THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM RESOLVED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COULD NOT AFFORD TO HAVE THE DEALER DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HE IS UNABLE TO HAVE THE FAILURE REPAIRED. HE PLANS ON NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 41,000.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON MAY 30, 2007. ON JULY 25, 2007 I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND IT WAS SHAKING WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE CAR TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO RESURFACE BOTH ROTORS AND RESURFACED BOTH REAR DRUMS. THE MILEAGE WAS 4108. IN NOVEMBER 15, 2007 I RETURNED MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON WHEN COMING DOWN ANY HILL. VIBRATION WAS ALSO NOTED AT THIS TIME. DEALER CHECKED AND STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. ON MARCH 24, 2008 I WAS COMING OFF A HILL FROM MY JOB SITE WHEN MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THE CAR WAS MAKING A GRINDING SOUND AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AT THE LIGHT IN THE INTERSECTION DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP DID A ROAD TEST AND ADVISED THAT THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING WHEN HOT. PULLED BRAKES AND HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS DUE TO DETERIORATION. ON JUNE 9, 2008 WHILE DRIVING THE INTERSTATE MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE WHEN I WOULD APPLY THE BRAKES. WHILE EXITING FROM THE FREEWAY I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AT THE INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES WERE MAKING A GRINDING SOUND AND DID NOT ALLOW ME TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN IN THE INTERSECTION. ONCE AGAIN I HAD NO BRAKES. I RETURNED THE CAR TO MY DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AND THEY CHECKED THE BRAKES. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO RESURFACE THE ROTORS THAT WERE REPLACED BY THEM IN MARCH 2008. THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I FEAR THAT MYSELF OR MY CHILDREN ARE GOING TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE WE WILL EITHER BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. MY SON WHO IS DISABLED WOULD HAVE DIFFICULTY SURVIVING ANY TYPE OF IMPACT CRASH. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. NOT SURE IF AIRBAG WILL STILL DEPLOY. WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN IF LIGHT STAYS ON, BUT IT DOESN'T IT JUST GOES ON AND OFF OCCASIONALLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RELEASE THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION WITH THE TRUNK RELEASE MECHANISM. SHE THEN ATTEMPTED TO USE THE KEYLESS DEVICE TO OPEN THE TRUNK, BUT IT ALSO FAILED TO OPERATE. WITHIN TWO TO THREE MINUTES, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MOVE. THERE WERE NO OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS AJAR AND WAS DRAGGED 10 TO 15 FEET. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DRIFT AND CRASHED INTO THE PORCH OF A NEARBY RESIDENCE. THE PORCH STEPS WERE DAMAGED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE AND THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
WHEN SEAT IS MOVED THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. DEALER REFUSES TO FIX SAYING THAT PLACING PURSE ON SEAT BROKE THE SENSOR. CAR WILL NOT SHIFT IN GEAR. 2ND OCCURRENCE. FIRST TIME FIXED UNDER RECALL. NOW DEALER REFUSES TO FIX SAME ISSUE. CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL STALL EITHER AT A STOP OR WHILE MOVING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH CONTINUES TO COME ON. THE FLASHERS RANDOMLY START FLASHING WHILE DRIVING. THE RADIO WILL CHANGE STATIONS ON IT OWN. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED OR REPAIRED 3 TIME IN THE FIRST 25,000 MILES. THE SUSPENSION MAKES A GRINDING NOISE UPON TURNING. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES. RADIO HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT CONTINUES TO CHANGE ON ITS OWN. AIRBAG SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT CONTINUES TO APPEAR ON DASH. SERVICE STATES THAT COMPUTER CANNOT READ ERRORS, AND PUTS CAR ON ROAD TEST. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE TIRE PRESSURE MEASURING SYSTEM. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND COULD TAKE 6-8 WEEKS TO REPAIR THE RECALL. THERE HAS BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V473000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY) IN MAY OF 2008. AFTER CALLING THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE AND HAD TO BE ORDERED. SHE SPOKE WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER ON JUNE 18, 2008 AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A CALLBACK. AS OF JULY 18, 2008, THE CONTACT HAS NOT RECEIVED A CALL. THE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 10 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO ALLOW A PEDESTRIAN TO CROSS. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND SHE COULD HEAR THE ENGINE REVVING. THE VEHICLE STOPPED, BUT HESITATED AS IF IT WANTED TO PROCEED FORWARD. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT LEAST SIX TIMES. I BOUGHT MY 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING BRAND NEW APRIL 2007. AFTER ABOUT A YEAR (OR LESS) AND WELL UNDER 20,000 MILES THE GAS CAP LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT OFF SPORADICALLY EVEN IN THE "OFF" POSITION, GOT STUCK IN PARK, FUEL TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED (WHICH WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING), AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T GO OFF, ETC. HAD ALL THESE PROBLEMS FIXED ONLY TO HAVE MANY OF THEM RECUR. THEY WERE ALL FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW AFTER 36,000 MILES AND NO WARRANTY, THE PROBLEMS I HAVE NOW ARE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STILL WON'T GO OFF, MY ELECTRIC WINDOWS SOMETIMES WON'T WORK AT ALL (DRIVER'S SIDE SPECIFICALLY), AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T GO OFF BUT OCCASIONALLY WHEN DRIVER'S SEAT IS MOVED BACKWARD AND FORWARD BUT ALWAYS RETURNS, CAR WILL STALL AT TIMES WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WHILE DRIVING. AFTER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN GOING OFF AGAIN, TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN MY TOWN...THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPLACE IT AGAIN AND THEY REFUSED. ALL THE RECALLS I READ ABOUT THAT APPEAR TO PERTAIN TO MY VEHICLE, CHRYSLER SAYS MY VIN IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL (EVEN THOUGH IT'S HAPPENING TO MY CAR TOO)! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE FOR MYSELF, OR ANYONE IN MY FAMILY AGAIN! PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR STARTED EARLY AND NEVER WENT AWAY. *TR

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD MAKE NOISE WHENEVER TURNS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FINE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. SIX MONTHS LATER, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND STEERING COLUMN FAILED AGAIN. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,700.
I JUST WANT YOU AWARE THAT I TRIED TO COMPLETE SAFETY RECALL G39-RADIATOR FAN FOR MY NEW CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE DEALER IS HAVING DIFFICULTY OBTAINING THE PART. I WAS TOLD THEY ARE "LIMITED" IN THE NUMBER OF PARTS THEY CAN ORDER, PER WEEK. NOTHING WAS RESOLVED IN COMPLETING THIS RECALL. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. THE FAILURES OCCUR SIMULTANEOUSLY AND INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURES STILL PERSIST. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CUP HOLDER WAS SUPPOSED TO COME WITH A SPECIALLY DESIGNED CUP. THE CONTACT WENT TO THE DEALER TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE CUP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CUP WAS NEVER PUT INTO PRODUCTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CUP HOLDER'S TEMPERATURE GOES UP TO 140 DEGREES. THE CONTACT IS UNSURE OF WHAT TYPE OF CUP CAN BE USED IN THE CUP HOLDER WITHOUT DAMAGING THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,900.
2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROLLER WHILE DRIVE FAILED...*BF *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE RPM'S WOULD SPORADICALLY INCREASE AND DECREASE WHILE TRAVELING 40 MPH. SECONDLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DECELERATE WHEN DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HE EITHER HAS TO CONTINUALLY APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN OR PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. A TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WOULD NOT DECELERATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000. UPDATED 09/15/08 *BF WHEN THE CONSUMER REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE WIPERS WILL COME ON AT ANY TIME. VERY STARTLING WHEN CAR IS MOVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 75 TIMES SINCE WE BOUGHT IT IN 2008. OUR MECHANIC (WHO IS REPUTABLE AND DOES QUALITY WORK) HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE REGAINED POWER INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR SEVERAL TIMES TO RESOLVE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONSISTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE RPM'S DECREASED TO ZERO AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. AFTER IT WAS RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE HESITATED FOR 15-20 SECONDS BEFORE ACCELERATING. WHEN IT RAINS, THE HEADLIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WOULD DIM INTERMITTENTLY. THE LIGHT SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR REPAIR THE FAILURES. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND MY SON HAS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY BOTH WERE RECALLED FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR (THAT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE AN INTERIOR FIRE)AND NOW IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND WE STILL CAN'T GET THEM REPLACED. MY LOCAL DEALER SAID THAT THEY ONLY GET A HANDFUL IN ON MONDAYS AND IT IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. THERE WERE NO ACTUAL EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS A 2007 MODEL CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN WITH A 2.4L, 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. THE CAR HAS 36,505 MILES ON IT. THE CAR WAS ACTING PERFECTLY NORMAL UP UNTIL I WENT TO START IT. ONCE I STARTED IT, I COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. I CALLED AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE "SHIFTER" HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE INCIDENTS STARTLED ME GREATLY THAT I REQUESTED TO RECEIVE A NEW CAR. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED AND HAD SOMEONE FLY IN FROM LOS ANGELES, CA TO FIX. NOW AFTER 5 YEARS THE CAR IS DOING SAME THING. I PRESENTED THIS SAFETY ISSUE TO THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP BY THE NAME OF [XXX]. [XXX] PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT SINCE I DID NOT USE HIM FOR MY SERVICING THAT HE WOULD NOT ASSIST ME. IT IS VERY HARD TO DRIVE AND IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON SLIPPERY, RAIN, WET, LIGHT SNOW SURFACES. ON DRY SURFACES THERE IS ALREADY THE ISSUE OF TRYING TO GO STRAIGHT WITHOUT OVERCORRECTING . THERE A LACK OF ROAD FEEL AND PLENTY OF BODY ROLL LIKE A 1970 OR 1980 MERCEDES . I OWN A 2007 2.7 TOURING 6 CYLINDER CHRYSLER SEBRING NOW FOR 4 YEARS AND I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES FROM THE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT IT NEW. THE DEALERS SAY THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. WHY IN 2007 THE CONSUMER MAGAZINE WHO TESTED THE CARS WROTE IT UP AS HAVING A BAD STEERING FEEL THAT THEY WERE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH, AND THEY WERE EXPERT DRIVERS. YOU CAN NOT CONTROL THIS CAR UNDER SAFELY UNDER NORMAL TO LIGHT RAIN AND LIGHT SNOW DRIVING CONDITIONS. YOU HAVE TO SLOW DOWN UNDER THE HIGHWAY DRIVING SPEED OF 45MPH,WHICH CAN GET YOU A TICKET, ON INTERSECTION SPEED OF 55-60 MPH. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 40 YEARS WITH A VERY GOOD DRIVING RECORD. I AM SURPRISED THAT A CAR LIKE THIS WOULD BE SOLD TO THE PUBLIC USING OLD OR OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY JUST FOR A PROFIT NO MATTER WHO GETS HURT. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK I WAS SENT A RECALL FROM CHRYSLER AND THEY FIXED NO FEE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN WET AND HUMID CONDITIONS, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE INDICATOR WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE'S SPEED WOULD SUDDENLY REDUCE TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKES AND POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE WOULD ERRONEOUSLY REV VERY HIGH AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD LOSE TENSION AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. FURTHERMORE, WHEN REFUELING IN COLDER WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE FUEL WOULD SPRAY OUT OF THE FILLER HOLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
THE VEHICLE STALLS OR RUNS ROUGH WHENEVER IT IS RAINING OR HIGH HUMIDITY. ALSO THE REMOTE STARTING SYSTEM ACTS UP BY NOT STARTING CORRECTLY OR SHUTTING OFF AT DIFFERENT INTERVALS AFTER IT STARTS. SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE SOMETIMES AFTER A MINUTE AND COULD STALL AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES. IT IS NEVER SEEMS TO HAVE A PATTERN WHEN THESE SYMPTOMS OCCUR WITH STARTING WITH THE REMOTE OR STALLING WHEN DRIVING. THE PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AS WELL AS THE COILS BEING CHECKED ON THE PLUGS. THE VEHICLE USES NO SPARK PLUG WIRES SO THESE WOULD NOT APPLY OR BE AN ISSUE WITH THESE PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED NEW AND ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES CURRENTLY ON IT. IT IS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING WITH A 4 CYLINDER 2.4 L ENGINE. I HAS BEEN BACK TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND ALL OF THEM SAY IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL H07. MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE LATEST ONE IS THE MOST SERIOUS. A FAULTY ABS SENSOR CAUSE THE BRAKES TO OPERATE ABNORMALLY. THE ABS LIGHT MAY COME ON THEN GO OFF AND (PERIODICALLY GOES ON AND OFF). REGARDLESS OF THE LIGHT STATUS, THE ABS SYSTEM RANDOMLY ENGAGES AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO STOP IN A SAFE MANNER. THE ABS WHEN ENGAGED RESISTS THE DRIVER FROM APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE RESULT IS THE CAR NOT STOPPING. LUCKILY I WAS GOING SLOW AND THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND OTHER WISE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, RESISTED MY BRAKING FORCE THEN WENT OFF AND ALLOW THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE AS ANTICIPATED. THE ROADS WERE NORMAL, DRY AND FREE OF DEBRIS/ LOOSE FILL. THIS HAPPENED TWICE OVER TWO DAYS. ON THE SECOND DAY I PARKED THE CAR AND LET IT SIT UNTIL IT'S SERVICE DATE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DIAGNOSED A FAULTY SENSOR WITH CODE C1044. THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO RUST. FIRST THIS IS A 2007 CAR, SECOND IF RUST ON A SENSOR IS GOING TO INHIBIT NORMAL BRAKING THEN THE PART IS DEFECTIVE AND OR THE DESIGN IS DEFECTIVE. I WAS LUCKY SOME ONE ELSE IS NOT GOING TO BE. ABS IS DESIGNED TO PUMP THE BRAKES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I'M SURE NORMAL DRIVING AT 25 MPH ON A DRY NORMAL SURFACE ISN'T ONE OF THEM. EVEN IF THE ABS FAILS THE OPERATOR SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY APPLYING MANUAL FORCE TO THE BRAKE PETAL. THIS FAILURE DOES NOT ALLOW EFFECTIVE USE OF THE BRAKES! SECOND ISSUE IS THE LIGHTS (BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DIMMING) WITH AUDIBLE SURGES IN THE CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER. THE DEALER SAYS THIS IS DUE TO MY REMOTE STARTER EVEN THOUGH THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING WELL BEFORE THE REMOTE STARTER WAS INVOLVED. THIRD ISSUE IS THE REAR WINDOW REPEATEDLY COMING OUT OF TRACK THERE WERE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES ROTORS WARPING AND BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON, GAS CAP LIGHT COMING ON, TIRE SENSORS
