Brakes stopped working while in drive
BRAKE FAILURE. FIRST TIME IT WAS RAINING DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PUT ON BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE IT BEGAN RAINING VERY HARD BRAKE LOCKED UP PEDAL WAS HARD TO PUSH CAR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND ALMOST SENT ME OVER THE GAURD RAIL. LUCKILY GAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS ESPECIALLY WHEN WET I HAVE NO BRAKES, LIKE IT LOCKS UP OR SOMETHING . ABS LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH LIFE TIME WARRANTY BRAKES. ABS SENSORS WERE CHECKED AND IN PLACE WHEN BRAKES REPAIRED. HAD IT CHECKED AT TIRES PLUS AND JUST BRAKES BOTH SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THIS CAR SCARS ME BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF I AM GOING TO HAVE BRAKES OR NOT OR HOW TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM OR WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
MULTIPLE STALLING SINCE APPROX 2 TO 3 YRS AGO , HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND HAVE FOUND NO PROBLEM. BRAKE LIGHTS TURNS ON WHEN AT A STOP OR A RED LIGHT, HAVE TAKEN IT IN , DEALERSHIP HAS FOUND NO PROBLEM. CAR HAS STOPPED AT RED LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS EVEN ONCE WHEN TURNED AT A CORNER. ON AUG. 8, 2014, WITH IN MINUTES OF EXITING THE 135 FRWY AT THE LAKE EXIT IN PASADENA, CA., AND SLOWING TO TURN INTO A DEL TACO, THE BREAKS ON OUR CAR "TOTALLY LOCKED UP!". THE FOLLOWING DAY WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO ALHAMBRA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM. I WAS VERY DETAILED IN WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. THE RESULT WAS A NEW COMPUTER TO MONITOR AND ADMINISTER BRAKING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE VEHICLE. I ALMOST LEFT THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE I NOTICED NO MENTION OF THE INCIDENT AS I HAD ORIGINALLY DESCRIBED. THIS CONCERNED ME AND I ASKED THEM IF THE REMEMBERED WHY I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN. UPON THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, THEY UPDATED MY BILL DESCRIPTION TO INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL REASON MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY. I FEEL THEY WERE NOT AS ATTENTIVE TO WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT ONLY MINUTES BEFORE AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DISCUSSIONS AS WELL AS E-MAIL EXCHANGES WITH CHRYSLER AS A RESULT. MY ULTIMATE FEELING IS THEY ARE WAITING FOR MORE OF THESE INCIDENTS TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I AM WORRIED NOT ONLY FOR MY WIFE AND MYSELF, BUT FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY FIND THEMSELVES IN A SIMILAR SITUATION BUT WITH THE PROBLEM OF BEING ON A FREEWAY. THANK YOU. *TR
I WAS STOPPED ON THE RED LIGHT AND LOOKING WAS 1 CAR LENGTH AWAY FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME MY BRAKES WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND I WAS SO SCARED TILL I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUT MY EMERGENCY BRAKE THIS HAPPEN TO ME 3 TIMES IN THE SAME DAY BY THE WAY WHEN HIS HAPPEN MY BRAKES ARE NEW. *TR

HE STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED, HE APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP CAUSING HIM TO DRIVE OVER THE CURB AND CRASH INTO TREES. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED SEVERELY AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
I PURCHASED A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING ON MAY 28, 2010. ON THAT DAY AFTER TEST DRIVE I SPOKE WITH SALESMAN AND FINANCE MANAGER ABOUT THE BRAKES AND WAS INSURED THAT ANY PROBLEMS TO BRING BACK WITHIN 2 WEEKS. I ALSO WAS TOLD THAT THE SQUEAKING WOULD SUBSIDE WITHIN 2 WEEK TIME. I HAVE RETURNED CAR TO DEALERSHIP TWICE NOW AND EACH TIME WAS TOLD NO PROBLEMS AND THEY DID NOT HEAR ANY NOISE. I'VE HAD TO PUMP MY BRAKES TO STOP AND THERE IS A GRIND NOISE WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO BRAKES. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE PADS AND WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE BAD ALSO. IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE HAVING AN ACCIDENT OR POSSIBLE DEATH IN ORDER FOR ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN? OR WILL IT TAKE GOING PUBLIC WITH THE MEDIA? MY BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING THE NORMAL SPEED LIMIT. IT WILL GO OFF AFTER I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE BUT THEN AGAIN APPEAR AT DIFFERENT TIMES THE DEALER HAS SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE FLUIDS NOR BRAKES AND CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY THE BRAKE LIGHT KEEPS APPEARING. *TR
WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES PEDAL THE CAR WILL COME TO A STOP, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE. TOOK THE CAR TO A CHRYSLER DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT THE FRONT ROTOR WERE WARPED, HE RECOMMEND THAT THEY CUT THE ROTOR AND THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. IT FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT AFTER 6000 MILE LATER THE PROBLEM RETURN. I REPLACE THE FRONT ROTOR AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. IT COST ME $250. 00. THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT COVER BY THE WARRANTY. *TR
HELLO I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING AND IT CONSTANTLY HAS BRAKE PROBLEMS. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP IN DEC OF 2009. I HAVE HAD TO PUT BRAKES ON 3 TIMES SINCE THEN AND I DON'T GO LONG DISTANCE OR DRIVE LONG. I HAVE HAD FACTORY BRAKES PUT ON FROM THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THE BRAKES ALWAYS MAKE SQUEAKING NOISE ALL THE TIME. I HAVE TALKED TO ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE CHRYSLERS AND THEY ALL SAID THE THEY HAVE BRAKE PROBLEMS. I PURCHASED MY 2008 SEBRING IN NOVEMBER 2008. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE BRAKES BEGAN MAKING SQUEAKING NOISES. I HAVE HAD THE DEALER (FROM WHICH I PURCHASED) TO PUT 3 PAIR OF BRAKES ON SINCE THEN. I DON'T TRAVEL OR DRIVE LONG DISTANCES, BUT EVERYTIME I STOP THE BRAKES MAKE SQUEAKING NOISE S AND SKIPS. ALSO I HAVE LOTS OF DUST TO ACCUMULATE ON THE FRONT DRIVER RIM. I WAS TOLD TO SLOWLY PULL MY BRAKE HANDLE WHILE DRIVING TO DECREASE THE BRAKE DUST. *TR
2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING WITH 9,000 MILES IS HAVING BRAKE FAILURE PROBLEMS. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED ON 2 OCCASIONS, SHE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE WHILE BACKING UP. ON ONE OF THOSE OCCASIONS, SHE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. *JB
