FOR SOME HISTORY, I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY LX THAT IS LESS THAN 21 MONTHS OLD, I DO NOT HAVE POWER DOORS. THE VAN THAT HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT MADE AND ODD NOISE. GOT OUT TO CHECK AND SAW NOTHING. IT DID IT AGAIN WHILE TURNING, SO I STOPPED AGAIN TO CHECK, AND AS I WAS PUTTING IT INTO PARK THE NOISE WAS CONTINUOUS, IT WAS A BUSTED CV AXLE. NOW I KNOW WHAT THE MALFUNCTION WAS, BUT AT THAT POINT I HAD NO CLUE. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET MY THREE YEAR OLD OUT OF THE CAR AND THE SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. I DOUBLE CHECKED THAT THE DOORS WERE UNLOCKED AND WAS TRYING TO PULL THE HANDLE TO GET THE DOOR TO RELEASE. AT THIS POINT I GOT FRANTIC, AND WHEN THE DOOR FINALLY RELEASED, IT FLEW BACK SO HARD THAT IT CAUSED A DENT IN THE REAR CORNER PANEL. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE VEHICLE MUST BE IN PARK IN ORDER TO OPEN THE BACK HATCH. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT THE DOOR DID NOT RELEASE PROPERLY TO THE EXTENT THAT HAD THE CAR BEEN ON FIRE I COULD HAVE LOST MY CHILD. I HAVE LOOKED UP SOME THINGS ABOUT CHRYSLER VEHICLES AND PEOPLE GETTING TRAPPED IN THEM AND IT DIDN'T SEEM ALL THAT UNCOMMON. AFTER I HAD MY CHILD OUT I EVEN TRIED TURNING THE VAN ON AND OFF TO GET IT TO SHIFT INTO PARK. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER, AND EVEN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE , AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL ADJUST THE DOOR BUT NOTHING MORE. I DID NOT THINK THEY WERE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY, EVEN AFTER THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD A HARD TIME GETTING THE DOOR TO RELEASE.*AK
I NEEDED BRAKE PADS AT 10,000 MILES AND THE FRONT ROTORS WARPED AT 25,000 MILES. I'VE OWNED AT LEAST THREE VANS BEFORE AND DIDN'T NEED ANY BRAKE WORK TILL AT LEAST 40,000 MILES. IS THE TOWN AND COUNTRY THE NEXT CHRYSLER LINE SINCE THE RECALL ON THE CHRYSLER JEEP AND TRUCK RECALL? *TR
ISSUE #1: AS I WAS DRIVING ON A RAINY DAY AND WENT THROUGH A PUDDLE, I LOST STEERING CAPABILITY. THE WHEEL JUST STAYED IN THE SAME PLACE THAT I WAS GOING IN...IMAGINE THAT HAPPENING WHILE TRYING TO TURN...ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN...I TOOK IT BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY VAN. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE PLACE I BOUGHT IT TO GET WORK DONE ON IT....FOR YEARS I TOOK IT IN TO NO AVAIL...THEN AS I MADE 60K MILES I DID A TUNE UP ON MY VAN AND CHANGED THE SERPENTINE BELT EVEN THOUGH IT DID NOT NEED IT AND YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT...MY ISSUE HAD WENT AWAY...I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO BEHIND THE MAKER AND MAKE SURE MY VEHICLE'S NUTS AND BOLTS ARE SECURED ON A NEW VEHICLE! ISSUE #2: THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG HAS A RECALL, BUT LOCAL DEALER WON'T FIX IT, MY DEALER WON'T FIX IT SAYING I PASSED MY 36K WARRANTY MILES WHAT GIVES? I NEED IT FIXED! ISSUE #3: AS I WAS DRIVING 65MPH ON A HWY, MY VAN SHUTS OFF STUNDED I DRIFT TO THE SHOULDER TO RESTART AND BE ON MY WAY THIS HAS HAPPENED MAY TIMES IF I HAVE ANYMORE THAT THE VAN KEY IN THE STARTER THEN IT TURNS MY IGNITION OFFI NEED THIS FIXED THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN JUST LIKE FORD AND JUST LIKE THE ONES CHRYSLER HAS JUST RECALLED. *TR
SECOND ROW SEAT BELT LATCH IS NOT LATCHING. THE RELEASE BUTTON STICKS IN THE RELEASE POSITION. WHICH CAUSES THE SEAT BELT NOT TO HOLD. IT WILL NOT CLICK. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE REPAIR SHOP WHEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED. THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT PROPERLY PRIMED BETWEEN THE GLASS URETHANE TO SEAL AND SECURE THE WINDSHIELD TO THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC COULD PUSH THE WINDSHIELD AND THE GLASS WOULD RAISE OUT OF THE FRAME. THE CONTACT HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM, AND THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD. THE WINDOW SHOP WAS HOLDING THE WINDSHIELD AS EVIDENCE. *AK UPDATED 03/30/07. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRSYLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVAN. THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE, AND ACCORDING TO WITNESSES, AS THE DRIVER DROVE DOWN A BRIDGE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN AND OUT OF TRAFFIC TO AVOID HITTING OTHER VEHICLES. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF AN 18 WHEELER. THE SPEED WAS 90 MPH ,AND ACCORDING TO THE INVESTIGATION THE BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS KILLED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMALLY LOUD WHINING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE DEALER ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID TO THE VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE MORE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS ADDED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,300.
CAR PARKED ON LEVEL SURFACE WITH ENGINE RUNNING & IN PARK. LOOKED OUT OF THE 2ND FLOOR WINDOW APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 MINUTES LATER AND THE CAR WAS MOVING, ENTERED THE GARAGE (DOOR OPENED) AND RAN INTO THE WALL, MAKING A HOLE IN THE WALL AND MINOR SCRATCHING OF THE FRONT FENDER. THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING AND THE GEAR WAS IN DRIVE. FILED A POLICE REPORT SINCE I WAS SHOWING THIS HOME FOR SALE AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT STARTED MOVING AFTER 2 TO 3 MINUTES OF IDLING. BELOW DATE IS AN APPROXIMATE ONE. UNSURE OF EXACT DATE AT THIS TIME BUT WOULD PROBABLY SHOW UP ON THE POLICE REPORT. ESTIMATE ABOUT $200 FOR WALL REPAIR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHENEVER THE CONTACT DRIVES THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS FADE IN AND OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON SIX OCCASIONS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,310 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,475. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 5-70 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V192000) FOR THE 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT FELT THAT HIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,248. UPDATED 03/13/08. *LJ
WHEN I DRIVE MY 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY THROUGH A PUDDLE OR IN A HEAVY DOWNPOUR, MY POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THE BELT SLIPS AND SQUEALS FOR QUITE A WHILE BEFORE THE POWER STEERING STARTS WORKING AGAIN. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND A DEALER OR MECHANIC THAT KNOWS HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD DUE TO THIS ISSUE. *TR
RIGHT REAR POWER DOOR FAILS TO OPEN FROM REAR PUSH BUTTON, LATER IN TIME, DOOR LOCK FAILED TO OPEN WHEN UNLOCKING DOORS, ALSO DOOR WON'T LOCK ON AUTO., OR WHEN DRIVING AS THE REST OF THE DOORS. VERY DANGEROUS, MY GRANDCHILDREN RIDE QUITE REGULARLY AND AFRAID DOOR MAY MALFUNCTION. ALSO WHEN TURN LEFT AT TIMES THEIRS A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. *TR
TL* - THE CONTACT WAS TRYING TO FOLD THE SEATS IN A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY, WHEN HE PULLED THE STRAP ON THE SEAT IT FOLDED ON HIS HAND. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THE SEAT WAS ALL THE WAY BACK AND IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. UPDATED 01/31/07. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED BUT THE REPAIRS THAT WERE NEEDED WERE UNKNOWN TO THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 BRIDGESTONE EL42 TIRES DUE TO THEM HAVING SMALL PINHOLES IN THE SIDEWALL. THE FIRST TIRE WAS ON 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY AND THE SECOND AND THIRD TIRES ON A 2006 TOWN & COUNTRY. EACH TIRE HAD SMALL PIN HOLES IN THE SIDEWALL. I TOLD THE BRIDGESTONE DEALER THAT I THOUGHT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AND THAT THREE TIRES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WAS A LOT MORE THAN COINCIDENTAL. HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE TIRES AND THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR NEW ONES SINCE SIDE WALL LEAKS CANNOT BE REPAIRED. I TOLD HIM THAT BRIDGESTONE DIDN'T RECALL THE FORD EXPLORER TIRES UNTIL FORCED TO. *NM
LEFT REAR BRAKE DRUM LOCKED UP IN GARAGE AND VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. SHOW OWNER SAID IT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN IN WATER OR SAT FOR A LONG TIME.. THE VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT, WAS NEVER IN WATER AND NEVER SAT LONG AS I DRIVE 57 MILES FIVE DAYS A WEEK. I WAS CHARGED $66.00 TO CLEAN THE DRUM. THE VEHICLE HAD 16,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. *NM
HEAVY WEAR ON BRAKES. AT APPROX 13,000 MILES WE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES DUE TO WEAR. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE NORM THESE DAYS DUE TO NEWER BRAKE MATERIALS AND OUR CHRYSLER T&C BEING A HEAVY VEHICLE. I DON'T THINK BRAKES SHOULD WEAR OUT AT 13000 MILES. PLEASE MONITOR THIS ISSUE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AT NIGHT ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, SUDDENLY, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND BECAME INOPERABLE. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH CAUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWELVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE BATTERY AND HEADLIGHT SWITCH WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR AND THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,300.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE SERVICE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE REPLACEMENT PART FOR RECALL # 06V067000, FOR VISIBILITY: WINDSHIELD: WIPER/WASHER MOTOR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 9-16-06, WHICH WAS CAUSED BY ANOTHER DRIVER RUNNING A STOP SIGN AND SMASHING THE FRONT, DRIVER SIDE OF MY 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE ESTIMATED DAMAGE THUS FAR IS OVER $8,000. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED, BY READING THIS WEBSITE, THAT THE FRONT AIR BAGS USED IN THIS VEHICLE ARE CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE NHTSA. CHRYSLER CORP. ADVISED ME THAT IT WOULD INVESTIGATE THE AIR BAGS IN MY CAR (PURCHASED ONE WEEK PRIOR TO ACCIDENT), BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET, DESPITE SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT ON LINE, WRITING A LETTER AND PLACING TELEPHONE CALLS. THE DEALER, CHRYSLER PARAMUS, OF NEW JERSEY, HAS ALSO BEEN UNCOOPERATIVE IN THIS REGARD. I WAS ADVISED TODAY BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE CAR REPAIRS SHOULD BE COMPLETE IN ANOTHER WEEK OR SO. HOWEVER, THAT ONLY REFERS TO THE DAMAGE FROM THE COLLISION. THE CAR WILL STILL HAVE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND THAT IS OF GRAVE CONCERN TO ME. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE HAD EXCESSIVE BRAKE DUST ON ALL FOUR WHEEL RIMS. THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS BRAKE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE BRAKE DUST ON THE RIMS WAS BRAKE MATERIAL THAT SIMPLY FLAKED OFF WITH NORMAL WEAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED.
TURN SIGNAL WILL FLASH EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT, AND ACTUALLY CHANGES TO RIGHT WHEN TURNING LEFT, AND LEFT WHEN TURNING RIGHT. I HAVE HAD TWO VERY NEAR MISHAPS DUE TO THE PERSON BEHIND ME NOT KNOWING WHICH WAY I AM TURNING. I TOOK THE 2006 CHRYSKER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN FOR REPAIRS, AND THEY KNEW WHAT WAS BAD, BUT DID NOT HAVE THE PART(S) AVALIABLE. I AM STILL DRIVING THIS VERY UNSAFE VECHICLE, WAITING FOR THEM TO GET THE PART(S).
I BOUGHT MY 2006 TOWN AND COUNTRY 9/05 IT HAS 15,000 MILES ON IT WE HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKES, WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK THEM OFF, THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS METAL TO METAL WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE STILL HAD 1/2 A PAD LEFT. I LOVE MY VAN BUT THE COMPANY WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM IS ANOTHER STORY. *JB
MY 2 YEAR OLD SON PUSHED THE BUTTON TO CLOSE THE HATCH ON OUR 2006 TOWN AND COUNTRY MINI-VAN AND MY HUSBAND WAS PACKING THE CAR AND WAS UNDER THE HATCH AND HE THOUGHT IS WAS GOING TO BOUNCE BACK UP LIKE IT HAS IN THE PAST AND IT DID NOT. THE BACK HATCH KEPT CLOSING DOWN ON HIM HE THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO PIN HIM IN SO HE PUT HIS ARM OVER HIS HEAD TO TRY AND STOP THE HATCH FROM PUSHING DOWN ON HIM AND ONLY WHEN HE PUSHED UP SO HARD THAT IS SNAPPED THE ARM OFF THE BACK HATCH DID IT STOP AND BOUNCE BACK UP. ALSO MY HUSBANDS WRIST AND ARM WERE SWOLLEN FROM THE HATCH PUSHING DOWN ON HIM. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN BY TWO YEAR SON UNDER THERE AND IT COULD OF KILLED A SMALL CHILD OR PERSON. MY HUSBAND STATED HE BARELY WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE HATCH UP. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALL OF THE PANEL LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF AT ALL TIMES. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, AND A FEW MAJOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUES. THE FAILURE HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 100 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, THE PASSENGER REAR TIRE SUDDENLY WENT FLAT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE SLID ACROSS THE INTERSTATE AND HIT A GUARDRAIL. THERE WAS DAMAGE DONE TO THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE WAS AT THE SCENE, BUT A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. A TIRE DEALERSHIP EXAMINED THE TIRE AND DETERMINED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRE; HOWEVER THE AIR VALVE ON THE WHEEL WAS LEAKING AIR. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE AIR VALVE.
VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 4000 MILES ON IT. AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES DURING A DRIVE, AND SOMETIMES THE LIGHT SEEMS TO TURN ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, BUT IT'S FAIRLY REPEATABLE WITH TURNING THE WHEEL. I AM SENDING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON SEVERAL CHRYSLER MINIVANS STARTING WITH A 1998 MODEL AND I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS SYSTEMIC SAFETY PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED IN AT LEAST EIGHT YEARS. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FIVE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR FOUR TIMES AND THE HARNESS WAS ALSO REPLACED ONE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. THE PART HAD BEEN ON BACK ORDER SINCE APRIL 2010. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
AFTER STARTING MY CAR, THE LIGHT INDICATING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS TURNED OFF STAYED ON FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. AN HOUR LATER I STOPPED, TURNED MY CAR BACK ON AND THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE SUN ROOF GLASS BLEW OUT, HITTING THE VEHICLE AND CAUSING SOME BODY DAMAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE SUN ROOF GLASS AND METAL FRAME WERE REPLACED.
WE PURCHASED A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINI-VAN. THE VAN IS EQUIPPED WITH STOW AND GO SEATING. ON THE THIRD ROW SEATS, LOCATED ON THE END OF EACH SEAT, LEFT AND RIGHT, IS A PULL TAB. WHEN MY 6 YEAR OLD SON PULLED THE TAB THE SEAT EJECTS FORWARD. THE FORCE CREATED A LUMP ON HIS HEAD. THE TAB IS EASY TO ACCESS AND EASY FOR A CHILD TO PULL. WHEN THE TAB IS PULLED THE UPPER PART OF SEAT MOVES FORWARD FAST AND WITH FORCE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR CHILDREN AND EVEN ADULT. ESPECIALLY, IF YOU AREN'T EXPECTING THE MOVEMENT OF THE SEAT. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT, THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE NOTICED COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR RESULTING IN WINDSHIELD WIPER FAILURE. THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. UPON INSPECTION, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR, WHICH REMEDIED THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED.
PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 1/28/06. I TOOK THE CAR TO CARMAX ON 1/31/06 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. CARMAX IS STILL UNABLE TO CURE THE PROBLEM AS OF 2/8/06. THE ORDERED A NEW SEAT BELT RETRACTOR AND THAT DID NOT WORK. THEY TRIED TO REPLACE THE SEAT WITH A SEAT FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THAT DID NOT WORK. *JB
WHILE DRIVING A NEW 2006 TOWN AND COUNTRY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR. INITIALLY, PULLING OVER, SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTING THE CAR WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, AFTER THIS SHUT-OFF PROCEDURE THE CAR WOULD DOWNSHIFT VERY ROUGH (WITH AN AUDIBLE BANGING NOISE). VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE FIRST SYMPTOM. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID ILLUMINATE. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE CAR FOR 4 DAYS AT THIS POINT WITHOUT EVEN HAVING DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. WE ARE DRIVING A RENTAL VEHICLE AS A SUBSTITUTE. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY. THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED 5 TIMES, BUT THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER HAS NOT IDENTIFIED THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250 AND CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31,000. 2006 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HAS WATER LEAKS COMING FROM THE FACTORY INSTALLED SUN ROOF. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT STILL LEAKS. *NJ THE RACK AND PINION FAILED AND THE PART WAS OUT OF STOCK FOR 6 WEEKS. THE TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP LEAKED ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY. *JB
