TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY PULL TOWARDS THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE ALIGNED AT LEAST SEVEN TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,700. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE CALIPERS AND ITS RELATED COMPONENTS. THE GUIDE PINS ON THE CALIPER WAS CORRODED WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO DRAG, AND IN TURN CAUSED OVERHEATING CONDITIONS . ALSO, THE TIRE, ALUMINUM WHEEL, PADS, WHEEL BEARINGS, ABS, FLUIDS, SEALS, HOSES AND OTHER RUBBER TYPE ITEMS NOT LIMITED TO MOUNTING TO GROMMETS AND OTHER CHASSIS COMPONENTS FAILED. I HAVE HAD THE FRONT BRAKES REPLACE BY CHRYSLER 3 TIME SINCE JUNE 2009 AND THE ROTOR ONCE. I AM CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A MASSIVE SHUTTER WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (VERY DANGEROUS). I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME THE ROTORS ARE PROBABLY WARPED (AGAIN) AND THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I JUST HAD THEM DONE BEFORE 36K AND NOW I'M AT 50K. I PURCHASED NEW WAGNER ROTOR AND CERAMIC BRAKE PADS AND INSTALLED THEM MYSELF. FIRST TIME OUT THE SHUTTER IS STILL THERE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AGAIN AND TOLD THEM THE NEW EQUIPMENT (PER THEIR RECOMMENDATION) DID NOT WORK. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN AND FOR $95 THEY WILL TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. SURFING THE INTERNET AND NHTSA INFO IT SOUNDS LIKE A TON OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES AND THERE IS NO HELP FROM CHRYSLER OR NO RECALLS ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX IT. I HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS AND I AM AFRAID OF DRIVE/STOPPING THIS VEHICLE. THE SHUTTERING EFFECTS YOU ABILITY TO STEER WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN TO TAKE AN EXIT RAMP ON A HIGHWAY. SOMEONE OUT THERE HELP!! *TR
2009 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY HAS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS FLAW WITH THE AUTOMATIC REAR SEAT. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS REMOVING SOME SUITCASES FROM THE WELL BEHIND THE REAR SEAR. DURING THE PROCESS, HE LOST HIS BALANCE AND FELL AGAINST THE BUTTONS ON THE SIDE THAT OPERATE THE SEAT FOLDING CLOSURE. THE BACKS OF BOTH SEATS BEGAN TO FOLD FORWARD. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO STOP THE MOVEMENT BY PUSHING THE BUTTONS, BUT THEY KEPT FOLDING. THEY FINALLY CAME TO STOP AND THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE THE REST OF HIS BAGS. WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE SEATS BY PUSHING THE BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE PART OF THE MECHANISM ON THE RIGHT SEAT WAS BENT. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED A GOVERNOR SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON THE SEATS TO STOP THE MOVEMENT IF THE SEAT SENSES AN OBSTRUCTION. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE WINDOWS SHATTERED AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER AND FOUR OTHER PASSENGERS RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND AN INVESTIGATOR TO THE DEALER. STERLING MICHIGAN POLICE DEPARTMENT FILED REPORT NUMBER 108901. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BECOME STIFF AND SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED THREE TIMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THE BACK UP CAMERA MALFUNCTIONED AND LOST POWER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CAMERA STOPPED OPERATING WITHOUT WARNING AND THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
