THIS VEHICLE QUIT WHILE DRIVING BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE TO A PARKING SPOT AND NOW WONT RESTART DO TO FAILED (TIPM) THOROUGHLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILURE TO SUPPLY POWER TO FUEL PUMP . AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION & DIAGNOSIS MANY SIMILAR CHRYSLER PRODUCTS HAVE SAME ISSUES , OR RECALLS THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE RECALL?
I HAVE INTERMITTENT STARTING. I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON 09/11/2019 AND I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH INTERMITTENT STARTING WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS OF BUYING THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE TIMES WHERE MY VEHICLE WILL START JUST FINE BUT THEN THERE ARE TIMES WHERE THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER. THE STARTER HAD BEEN REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. MY MECHANIC HAD LOOKED AT MY VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT I STILL HAVE ISSUES WERE I CAN GO A WEEK WITH NO ISSUES BUT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WE WILL GO TO START THE VAN AND IT WON'T. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE IDENTIFIED IT IS THE TIPM AND THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE. THIS ISSUE ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IF STATIONARY.
THE TIPM ON MY VEHICLE HAS GONE BAD AND THE FUEL PUMP IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, WONT START, ETC. ALL THE TIPM PROBLEMS YOU READ ABOUT IN THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. THIS VEHICLE HAS A 3.6L ENGINE, THE SAME ENGINE THAT THE 2011 DODGE DURANGO HAS THAT HAS HAD A RECALL TO REPAIR THIS TIPM PROBLEM. IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT THIS 2011 CHRYLSER TOWN AND COUNTRY WOULD NOT HAVE A RECALL AS WELL. EXPLAIN THAT TO ME!
THE "WIRELESS IGNITION NODE RECEIVER" ON OUR 2011 CHYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY BROKE IN OCTOBER 2019 (WITH UNDER 100,000 MILES). THIS IS WHERE OUR KEY IS INSERTED TO START OUR MINIVAN. THE MINIVAN STILLS STARTS AND SHUTS OFF, BUT THE KEY WON'T STAY IN THE IGNITION. UNFORTUNATELY, WE DON'T HAVE THE $400-500 NEEDED TO REPLACE THE IGNITION RECEIVER. THE DANGEROUS PART OF THIS IS THAT THE KEY POPS OUT AT RANDOM TIMES, WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. THE KEY POPS OUT AND LANDS ON THE FLOOR UNDERNEATH OUR FEET WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. THIS ACTION IS ENORMOUSLY DISTRACTING AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SOMETIMES, WE ARE FORCED TO START THE VAN WITH THE KEY AND DROP THE KEY INTO THE CONSOLE, BUT THEN WE HAVE TO GO HUNTING FOR THE KEY IN ORDER TO SHUT THE VAN OFF. APPARENTLY, THESE IGNITION NODES ARE KNOWN TO BE PROBLEMATIC IN MINIVANS JUST 2 OR 3 YEARS OLDER THAN OURS, AND RECALLS HAVE ALREADY BEEN FILED FOR THOSE YEARS. WE ARE WONDERING IF AND WHEN THE RECALL FOR OUR 2011 VAN WILL CATCH UP TO THE PROBLEMS THESE MINIVANS ARE HAVING.
I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHIFTED THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE'S BACK UP CAMERA CAME ON AND IT HAD THE R ILLUMINATED, INDICATING IT WAS IN REVERSE. I TRIED TO SLOWLY STEP ON THE GAS BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I TRIED TO SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT, I SHUT THE VAN OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT. I THEN WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY SHIFT TO DRIVE AND SLOWLY BACK TO PARK AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. IT HAS A HARD TIME SHIFTING IN LOWER GEARS AS WELL WHILE DRIVING, WHEN YOU DO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE IT FEELS LIKE IT DROPS VERY HARD INTO THAT GEAR. NO CODES STORED.
MY VAN WITHOUT WARNING STARTED RUNNING ROUGHT IN DRIVE, SHAKING, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BLINKING FAST TOOK IT TO MECHANIC. IT SHOWS ALL CYCLINDERS HAVE SEVERE MISFIRING ISSUES. THEY CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHY AND TOLD ME TO TAKE TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THIS VAN RUNS CRAPPY HAS NO POWER TO GET TO DEALERSHIP. I WAS ON A CITY STREET TRYING TO DRIVE 20 MILES AN HOUR IT WOULD NOT HARDLY MOVE. I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT HOME IT WAS FINE UP UNTIL THIS HAPPENED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING VERY DANGEROUS IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
OUR 2011 TOWN & COUNTRY STARTED HAVING STARTING/STALLING ISSUES ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO - MIND YOU THERE IS ONLY ABOUT 81K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER FIRST REPLACED THE POWER MODULE IN SEPTEMBER, THEN THE ISSUE RETURNED ONLY TO BE CAUSING MORE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS EXPLAINED THEN THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER MODULE DUE TO A FAULTY RELAY. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THAT OTHER CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR ARE BEING RECALLED FOR. THE STALLING WAS DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY COSTLY PROBLEM WITHOUT A RECALL BEING ISSUED - ALTHOUGH VEHICLES USING THE SAME ENGINE AND COMPONENTS ARE BEING RECALLED. PLEASE HELP ESCALATE THIS.
INTERMITTENT START HAS LEAD TO VARIOUS ELECTRICAL RELATED BURN UPS SUCH AS BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, STARTER RELAY, FUEL PUMP AND IGNITION. PROBLEMS STARTED IN OCTOBER 2018 WITH ROUGHLY 79,000 MILES WITH VAN RANDOMLY SHUTTING DOWN DURING DRIVING OR FAILING TO START AFTER ARRIVING AT A DESTINATION. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN MURFREESBORO, TN REPLACED IGNITION AS THERE IS A CURRENT BULLETIN ON THAT PARTICULAR PART. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND VAN WOULD NOT EVEN START TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY. DEALERSHIP TOLD US THEY COULD NOT GET THE PROBLEM TO REPEAT AND SAID WE MADE THE ISSUE UP. AFTER SEVERAL MORE PARTS BURNED OUT AND EVERY MECHANIC WAS CLUELESS, WE CONTACTED FCA CUSTOMER SUPPORT THIS WEEK. THE CASE MANAGER TOLD US TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. WHICH WE HAVE DONE. THEN THE CASE MANAGER TOLD US THERE WILL LIKELY BE NO ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AS THEY WILL PERSUADE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO LEAVE THE ISSUE UNDIAGNOSED SO THERE IS NO RECORD OF AN ISSUE AND NO REASON FOR THEM TO INTERVENE. THE VAN MOST RECENTLY STALLED WHILE IN DRIVE TWO WEEKS AGO AND HAS FAILED TO START SINCE WE BROUGHT IT HOME. THERE ARE NO CODES STORED. ALL MECHANICS NOT AFFILIATED WITH CHRYSLER BELIEVE THE PROBLEM TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT WITH THE FUSE BOX, OTHERWISE CALLED THE TIMP. IT CAN BE REPLACED WITH A REFURBISHED UNIT AND WE ARE TOLD WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO FAIL AND BURN UP VEHICLE COMPONENTS. REPAIR BILLS ADD UP AS WELL AS THE CONTINUED RISK OF COMPLETE VEHICLE FAILURE WHILE IN GEAR. THIS VAN WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FAMILY VEHICLE. BUT HAS FAILED AND BECOME DANGEROUS. WE CAN OBTAIN ALL RECORDS OF AAA TOWING AND ALL REPAIRS AS WELL AS THE INITIAL DOCUMENTATION FROM A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE IGNITION BUT FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THE REAL ISSUE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO STEP UP. DON'T WAIT FOR A DEATH FROM A LOCK UP IN GEAR! PLEASE HELP US!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, SMOKE WAS SEEN EXITING THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE HEARD AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW FLAMES BY THE ALTERNATOR. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES WITH A BOTTLE OF WATER. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED DICK POE CHRYSLER JEEP (6501 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925, (915) 778-9331) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A MALFUNCTIONING ALTERNATOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE STARTER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START SOMETIMES (THE STARTER CRANKS BUT WON'T START) BUT THEN STARTS A FEW MINUTES LATER AND YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHY, AND SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS COME ON WHILE PARKED AT THE HOUSE AND THEN TURN OFF. OTHER TIMES THE VEHICLE CRANKS UP BUT WILL NOT START AND AFTER RELEASING THE BUTTON IT KEEPS CRANKING UP FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS? SOUNDS LIKE SOME PROBLEM WITH THE FIRMWARE FOR THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) WHICH IS THE GATEWAY OR DISTRIBUTION BOX FOR NEARLY THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN LATE-MODEL CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. BECAUSE OF THE INTERMITTENT NATURE (I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS OVER MORE THAN 6 MONTHS AND IT WILL NOT REPEAT AT MY MECHANICS LOCATION) IT IS VERY HARD TO DIAGNOSE TOTALLY. THE ENGINE SEEMS TO BE STARTING TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGHER THAN IT USED TO ALSO. I HAVE OVER 125,000 MILES WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS ALWAYS WORKED GREAT UNTIL THIS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM STARTED. I ALSO WAKE UP MY NEIGHBORS AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE NIGHT WHEN THE HORN STARTS GOING OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. THIS ONE PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE CAR HAD ABOUT 20,000 MILES AND I ATTRIBUTED IT TO THE KEY FOB BUT I AM NOT SO SURE. I HAVE TALKED TO CHRYSLER WHO KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL SO IF I GO IN I HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED WHILE I THINK IT IS AN ENGINEERING DESIGN PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE FIXED AT NO COST. THE DATE BELOW REFLECTS THE LATEST INSTANCE BUT IT HAS HAPPENED A LOT DURING THE PAST FEW YEARS.
ALL DASH ALERTS FLASHED (AT TIMES INDEPENDENTLY OR TOGETHER, WIPERS CAME ON, SPEED GAUGE INDICATORS MOVED WILDLY). THERE WAS NO CORRELATION TO TIMING, SPEED, ETC. AS TO THE EVENTS. APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS EARLIER THE BACKUP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. I WAS TOLD BY A DEALERSHIP THAT THE RADIO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HAD THE RADIO REPLACED. HAD THE TIPM REPLACED, STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, NOTHING HAS CHANGED. PRESENTLY, AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY WILL HAVE MANY HOURS INVOLVED IN DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM? HAVE READ THE 165 COMPLAINTS WHICH ARE THE SAME AS WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING. STILL LEANING TOWARD THE TIPM REPLACEMENT IS ALSO DEFECTIVE.
MY TIPM IS FAILING SLOWLY. MY STARTER IS PULLING WAY TO MANY AMPS WHEN STARTING. I'VE CHANGED IT TWICE. MY FUEL RELAY HAS FAILED. A LOT OF THE TIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I HAVE AN ICON FOR MY ABS SENSOR COME ON AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT OFF IS TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY CAR. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON ON MY DASH. MY CAR WON'T DRIVE OVER 60MPH AND MY RPMS WILL RUN HIGH AND WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS WHILE IT'S DOING THIS IT WILL TAKE YOU ALMOST TO A STOP WITHIN SECONDS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF. AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES IT GETS TESTED AND RESET IT COMES BACK WITHIN HOURS. SO MY AUTO START NEVER WORKS. SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I CAN'T GET MY SEATBELT ALARM TO STOP SINGING SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART. IT ALL LEADS BACK TO THIS TIPM (ELECTRONICS BOARD BELOW THE FUSE BOX). I'VE HAD IT PRICED AT 1300$ TO FIX IT. BUT TURNS OUT IT'S THE MOST COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR OF THIS VAN. PLEASE HELP!
ON MY DRIVER SIDE THE SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, NOT REMOTLEY OR MANUAL. THE LIGHT AT THE OVERHEAD BUTTON TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH COME ON SOMETIMES BUT WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR EITHER. I CAN HEAR A CLICKING SOUND TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE REMOTE BUT IT STILL WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL.
VEHICLE STARTED BUT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. HAD TO OVERRIDE THE SHIFT LOCK. TOOK TO AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR WHERE THEY FOUND MULTIPLE CODES RELATED TO THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. CLEARED CODES AND REPLACED BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. STILL SHOWED CODES RELATED TO BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. FOUND SYSTEM HAD 3 AMP DRAW RUNNING BATTERY LOW AND TRACED IT BACK TO THE TIPM. FOUND DRAW WAS PRESENT WHEN IGNITION SWITCH IS REMOVED FROM THE LOOP. REPLACED THE TIPM MODULE AND PROGRAMED TO VEHICLE. FOUND WIRING ISSUE TO THE TIPM THAT NEEDED REPLACED
IN MOTION AT 70 MPH ON I75 MY TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM INDICATED A FLAT TIRE. BECOMING DISTRACTED AND TRYING TO QUICKLY GET TO THE SHOULDER ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ONCE ON THE SHOULDER THE TIRE PRESSURE WENT BACK TO 39 PSI. WHILE KEEPING AN EYE ON IT ALL 4 TIRES WOULD FLUCTUATE FROM 295 PSI TO 0 PSI SETTING OFF A AUDIBLE WARNING EVERY TIME IT DROPPED BELOW 30PSI. SINCE THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BEGAN TWO WEEKS AGO I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE STARTING, ONCE TO THE POINT WHERE I WAS STRANDED AND HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED. THE MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE IT STARTED FOR THEM. THEY DID LET ME KNOW THAT THE TIPM HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CAUSE ALL THESE ISSUES AND THAT CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF IT BUT NOT DOING ANYTHING. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN RANDOM COMPONENTS AND DIAGNOSTIC SENSOR START GOING OFF AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. BEING POTENTIALLY STRANDED WITH MULTIPLE SMALL CHILDREN CAN ALSO BE A SAFETY CONCERN IN MY HONEST OPINION.
VAN HAS HAD A FEW TIMES WHERE IT WILL NOT START, YOU CAN TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY TO THE ON POSITION, ALL THE LIGHTS/RADIO AND AIR WILL COME ON BUT THE ENGINE FAILS TO START, DOES NOT MAKE A NOISE. AFTER A FEW TRIES IT WILL START. RECENTLY THE KEY GOT STUCK IN THE ON POSITION TO START AND THE ENGINE TRIED STARTING 4 TIMES WHILE STUCK IN THAT POSITION BEFORE IT FINALLY STARTED AND ALMOST QUIT. DID NOT DARE TO TURN VEHICLE OFF DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY IT WOULD NOT START. RESEARCH STATES THE TIPM IS THE CAUSE OF THIS ALONG WITH MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED.
WHEN DECELERATING FROM OVER 45 MPH ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SHIFTS SUDDENLY TO 3RD OR 2ND GEAR. CODES P0733 P0734 P0792. CLEAR ENGINE CODES, DRIVES NORMAL UNTIL DECELERATION AT ELEVATED SPEEDS. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS NORMALLY OTHERWISE. THIS IS THE 62TE 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION.
INTERMETINT WIPERS DON'T WORK,, BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK
REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT FULLY CLOSE AND LOCK WHEN PUSHING CLOSE BUTTON. DOORS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY PUSHED CLOSED FROM THE OUTSIDE TO CLOSE THE LAST QUARTER INCH AND TO HAVE THE DOOR CLOSE MECHANISM ENGAGE. THIS PRESENT A SAFETY RISK TO 2ND ROW PASSENGERS AS THE DOORS ARE NOT FULLY SECURED.
MY VAN HAS AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH WHERE ALL THE DADH COMPONENTS WILL FLICKER AND THE GAUGES WILL GO UP AND DOWN REPEATEDLY AND EVERY COUPLE DAYS THE CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF (NO POWER STEERING, NO GAS) WE HAVE PUT IT IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CANT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THERE FOR THEY CANT DO ANYTHING. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO SAID THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO LOOK INTO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM HOPING THAT CHRYSLER WILL FIX THEIR MISTAKES
FUEL PUMP RELAY PREMATURELY FAILS INSIDE THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL WHILE DRIVING. THE FUEL RELAY FUSE IS NOT REPLACEABLE AS IT IS HARD WIRED INSIDE THE TIPM. THE ENTIRE TIPM UNNECESSARILY NEEDS REPLACED AT GREAT EXPENSE AND LABOR OF NEARLY $1,800 FOR WHAT SHOULD BE AN INEXPENSIVE FUSE. OTHER CHRYSLER/ DODGE/ JEEP VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND REPAIRED FOR THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NOT THE CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVANS. THE MANUFACTURER AND ITS DEALERSHIPS IS AVOIDING A RECALL SO THAT THIS MODEL 'AGES OUT' AND PERMANENTLY DISPOSED SO THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO DO A RECALL.
Unknown what part is at fault. The automatic sliding doors will open fully and then immediately close. The feature that is supposed to make the doors stop when they detect something does not activate. An adult's full body weight is needed to press on the door to make it stop closing. Faulty on both driver and passenger sides. Starts to happen intermittently and then constantly. Dealership claims it is a "software" issue and not applicable for bumper-to-bumper warranty. I also contacted the mopar warranty department and they also claim it is not a covered issue even though there is a serious safety risk involved. A quick google search reveals it is a common problem.
VEHICLE HAS PLASTIC 'FOB' AND NOT A TRADITIONAL KEY. THIS VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY (WHILE STATIONARY) FAILS TO CRANK THE STARTER. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD WITH 2007 - 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VANS. I FOUND NO RECALL. IS THERE AN INVESTIGATION? PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SCORES OF TIMES IN PAST 6 MONTHS.

RECENTLY I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID HAS BEEN LEAKING INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. WHEN I TRY TO WASH THE BACK WINDOW IT JUST POURS OUT OF THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT.
CAR WOULDN'T START, THEN WOULD START, THEN WOULDN'T START AND NOW REPEATEDLY WILL NOT START. TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL SHOP WHO CHARGED ME FOR A REPAIR BUT THAT DIDN'T RESOLVE THIS. TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALER SHOP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO INITIALLY DIAGNOSE WHAT WAS GOING ON. I'VE ASKED THEM TO DO NO WORK PENDING CONVERSATIONS WITH THE ORIGINAL SHOP. ALL THE DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAVE READ POINTS TO THE TIPM SO I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE CAUSE.

VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY LOSE POWER, SHUTTING OFF ENGINE. THIS COULD HAPPEN WHILE STOPPED OR MOVING AT ANY SPEED, EVEN HIGHWAYS. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHERE HE FOUND A FAULTY WIN MODULE. DIAGNOSTIC FOUND DTC FOR LOW VOLTAGE TO TCM. MOVING KEY FOB WOULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND SHUT DOWN, BUT SO COULD NORMAL ROAD VIBRATION. REMOVED AND REPLACED WIN MODULE AND PROBLEM WENT AWAY.

I DROVE TO THE GROCERY STOREAND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, LOCKED THE DOORS AND SHUT THEM. I WENT SHOPPING AND CAME BACK OUT. THE KEY FOB WOULD NO LONGER UNLOCK THE DOORS. I USED THE MANUAL KEY TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE. I LOADED MY GROCERIES. ENTER THE VEHICLE AND INSERTED THE KEY FIVE INTO THE IGNITION. THE KEY FOB WAS DIFFICULT TO GET INTO THE IGNITION. ONCE THE KEY FOB WAS INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION SUCCESSFULLY, IT WOULD NOT TURN. I AM ENSURED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE KEY FOB, I ACCESSED THE GEAR OVERRIDE PANEL AND INSERTED A SCREWDRIVER, I MOVE THE GEARSHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, AND THEN BACK INTO PARK. THEN ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE IGNITION AGAIN. STILL NO POWER, AND THE KEY FOB STILL WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. ATTEMPTED TO JUMPSTART A VEHICLE ASSUMING THAT MAYBE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. STILL NO CHANGE. NOW I STILL CANNOT REMOVE THE KEY FOB FROM THE IGNITION NOR IS THERE ANY ENGAGEMENT FROM THE IGNITION. SEVERAL VEHICLES OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF PREVIOUS YEARS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.

TO MAINT SHOP FOUND OIL FILTER HOUSING ( ACTUALLY PART OF OIL/COOLANT HEAT EXCHANGER) SEALS LEAKING ON TOP OF THE ENGINE BLOCK BELOW THE INTAKE ASSEMBLY. IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE VISUALLY. CHRYSLER SB 09-008-15 DATED 8-7-2015 DEALS WITH THIS ISSUE. BIG PROBLEM IS THAT AS STATED, TAKES ALMOST A QUART OF OIL TO SIT ON TOP OF THE ENGINE FOR IT TO START TO LEAK VISUALLY....SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD,, ESPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER. AFTER VARIOUS TESTS HE FOUND IT WAS THE TIMP AND NEEDS A FUEL RELAY BYPASS INSTALLED BECAUSE CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE TIMP IN THEIR MINI VANS. $159 FOR THE NEW BATTERY AND IT WILL BE $675 FOR THE BYPASS. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM.

AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I'VE FOUND THRE ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM AND SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PART HAVE BEEN RECALLED. TO PUT A NEW TIPM IS GOING TO COST ANOTHER $1,300. PLEASE A'S A REPUTABLE COMPANY, I HOPE YOU WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THIS ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE LOVED MY VAN AND WAS PLANNING TO UPGRADE TO THE PACIFICA. I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERY, STARTER, FUEL PUMP, FUEL INJECTORS, DONE A FULL TUNE-UP, REMOVED THE REMOTE START AND MORE WITHOUT SUCCESS.
PASSANGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. THE LOCK ITSELF IS STUCK IN LOCK POSITION. BUT IT WILL NOT MOVE BY ANY POWER DEVICE. AND WILL NOT BUDGE BY MANUAL. ALL DOORS WILL LOCK BUT THAT ONE. THERE ARE MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING THIS ISSUE. SAYING IT IS THE ACTUATOR.

THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM HAS FAILED. THERE'S A CONTINUED DINGING THAT IS LINDICATING THE FAILED OF THE SYSTEM - THIS SYSTEM CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. AND THE COST TO REPLACED THE FAULTY COMPUTER MODULE IS $800.00 EACH AND BOTH COMPUTERS HAVE FAILED. NOTE: WE CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICULAR WITH THE DINING GOING OFF.
