The ABS light, Traction light, and Brake light all come on and simultaneously. I've been told that the ABS Module is bad and needs to be replaced. The fact that the module needs to be replaced concerns me since there are prior recalls for ABS Module with other Dodge, Ram, and Chrsyler makes and models.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED FROM 30 MPH TO APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE RPMS REVVED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TUBBS BROTHERS FORD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 959 SANILAC RD, SANDUSKY, MI 48471, (810) 648-0000) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
I HAVE A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VAN WITH ADJUSTABLE PEDALS. PER THE MANUAL 'THE PEDALS CANNOT BE ADJUSTED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE OR WHEN THE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM (ESCS) IS ON'' IMPLYING SOME TYPE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE TWO SYSTEMS. FROM TIME TO TIME THE ESCS WILL NOT COME ON OR WILL STOP RESPONDING TO INPUTS, INCLUDING NOT DISENGAGING THE ESCS WHEN THE CANCEL BUTTON IS PUSHED (THOUGH IT WILL DISENGAGE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL). HOWEVER, IF I TOGGLE THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH (IN ANY DIRECTION) THE ESCS IMMEDIATELY BECOMES RESPONSIVE AGAIN. THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME TYPE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH AND THE ESCS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALER WITH NO ASSISTANCE. DUE TO THE ESCS INTERMITTENTLY NOT DISENGAGING VIA THE CANCEL BUTTON THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. AFTER THE CONTACT REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES WOULD GRIND AFTER THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE BUT ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AGAIN UNTIL THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED AND BY THE CONTACT. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO STARTED TO SHAKE AND BOUNCE AS THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED AND THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND THE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE TO 100 MPH. THE CONTACT THEN SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,700.
