THIS VAN HAS THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM AVAILABLE AS A SAFETY FEATURE AT AN EXTRA COST. THE FACTORY INSTALLED MONITORS ARE EXPOSED TO RAIN, SALT AND CORROSION. MOST OF THE VANS PRODUCED ARE AFFECTED WITH THIS PROBLEM .THE REPAIR COST FOR MINE IS $2140.00 PLUS TAX ON A TWO YEAR OLD VAN AT THAT TIME. WHY DOESN'T THE NHTSA REQUIRE THE COMPANY (CHRYSLER) TO PAY FOR THIS MALFUNCTION? CHRYSLER WAS REQUIRED TO PAY THE REPAIR/ REPLACEMENT COST ON OUR OLD 2006 DODGE CARAVAN REAR AIR CONDITIONER PROBLEMS... THE CHRYSLER COMPANY AND IT'S DEALERSHIPS ARE WELL AWARE OF THIS DEFECT.

THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A DEFECT IN THE ELEC SWITCH FOR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW. THERE WAS THE CHANCE THAT IT MAY OVER HEAT AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE SWITCH DISCONNECTED AS THE RECALL SUGGESTED. THAT WAS IN JULY OF 2014. I ALWAYS USE THESE WINDOWS AND IT HAS BEEN AN INCONVENIENCE NOT BEING ABLE TO DO SO. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IT FIXED FOR THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS NOW. MY CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE PARTS AND THAT ONLY A COUPLE ARE SENT OUT T THE MOST AT A TIME. I HAVE BEEN FIRST ON A WAITING LIST AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR THIS PART FOR OVER TWO MONTHS NOW. THEY SAID MY INTERIOR LIGHT COLOR IS BLUE AND THAT THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY OF THAT COLOR IN. NOT SURE WHAT THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE ELEC.SWITCH I NEED? IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CHRYSLER AS TO HOW LONG IT HAS TAKEN TO SOLVE THIS RECALL AND THE INCONVENIENCE THAT THIS HAS CAUSED ME. WE CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN JULY AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN THE PARTS TO FIX THE FAULTY WINDOW SWITCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WERE RECEIVED. AS OF TODAY, THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS. WE FEEL THAT 4 MONTHS IS TOO LONG TO WAIT FOR PARTS TO FIX A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE. *TR

THIS CAR WAS A NEW PURCHASE, AND ALREADY HAD 5000 MILES ON IT. ( IT WAS A DEMO CAR AT DEALERSHIP). AFTER 17K MILES ( 22K TOTAL), BRAKES STARTED SMELLING OF BURNING PARTS. WHEN I HAD TO STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, CAR SIMPLY WOULD NOT STOP. THANKFULLY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES. CHRYSLER MENTIONS THAT THIS WAS DUE TO DRIVING HABIT, AND WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 18 YEARS IN TOTAL, AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE IN ANY OF MY OTHER CARS. *TR

A FEW MILES OR DAYS LATER IT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURN ON AGAIN. BEEN TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HAVE TRY SEVERAL CORRECTION BUT NO LUCK. THE VAN RUNS DECENT BUT IT HAS A LOST SOME POWER AS IT TAKE AWHILE TO SPEED ON HIGHWAYS. *TR

WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION, THE WIPERS WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATE AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING FLASHED OFF AND ON. GOT A RECALL NOTICE IN SUMMERTIME 2014 REGARDING THE SWITCH FOR THE REAR WINDOWS. THAT IF WATER GOT DOWN INTO IT, IT COULD CATCH FIRE. WENT TO DEALER IN ROMEO, MI. I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER DID NOT PROVIDE THEM WITH THE PART AND ASKED IF I WANTED IT HAVE IT DISCONNECTED FROM THE ELECTRICAL. I DECLINED. WENT TO GET MY OIL CHANGED AT A CLINTON TOWNSHIP DEALERSHIP ON DECEMBER 2014, REMEMBERING THAT THE RECALL WAS NEVER DEALT WITH, AND ASKED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE SAME EXACT THING. NO PART AVAILABLE; COULD HAVE IT DISCONNECTED. I AGAIN DECLINED. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY CHRYSLER BOTHERS TO SEND A NOTICE IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PROVIDE THE PART. I FIRST BROUGHT MY T&C INTO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE NOTICE TO GET THE WORK DONE IN FARMINGTON, MI. UPON ARRIVAL THEY HAD NO PARTS AND ESSENTIALLY, SO THEY DISCONNECTED THE WINDOWS AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A PEEP SINCE. I CALLED IN JULY TO GET THE WORK DONE -- NO PARTS FROM CHRYSLER AT DEALER. I MOVED TO CA AND STOPPED AT DEALER TO GET WARRANTY WORK ON ENGINE IN DALY CITY AND ASKED THEM TO COMPLETE THE WORK. THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED PARTS YET. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I WOULD LIKE SOME RECOURSE. *TR

THIS IS A MINIVAN. THE REAR HATCH/LIFTBACK INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO OPERATE AT TIMES. THE HATCH CAN EITHER BE MANUALLY OPENED AND CLOSED, OR ELECTRICALLY OPENED AND CLOSED VIA THE REMOTE CONTROL OR VIA THE BUTTON AT THE REAR INSIDE OR A BUTTON ABOVE THE DASHBOARD. IF THE HATCH IS OPEN AND FAILS TO CLOSE ELECTRONICALLY, THEN THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH BY ANY MEANS, EVEN IF THE DOOR IS CLOSE MANUALLY. I HAVE HAD TO HOOK THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR WITH A ROPE AND TIE IT SHUT, BUT THE DOOR IS NOT MECHANICALLY LATCHED. I HAVE HAD THE MINIVAN TO THE DEALER ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE 1ST TIME THE VEHICLE WENT IN FOR REPAIRS THE CENTER WITNESSED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE LATCH. NUMEROUS CODES WERE RECORDED IN THE BLACK BOX. NOT SURE IF CHRYSLER USED THESE CODES TO CONSIDER FURTHER PARTS REPLACEMENT, BUT THEY WON'T REPLACE ANYTHING AT THIS TIME. CHRYSLER IS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE ANY FURTHER COMPONENTS WITHOUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRING AT THE SERVICE CENTER. THE PROBLEM WAS WITNESS BY WIFE, 3 CHILDREN AND MYSELF. THE KIDS HAVE HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE REAR SEAT TO GET ACCESS TO THINGS IN THE REAR OF THE VAN DUE TO THE HATCH NOT WORKING. THE BIG CONCERN IS THE HATCH NOT LATCHING IN THE CLOSED POSITION WHEN TRAVELING. *TR
CHRYSLER ISSUED RECALL # P25/NHTSA 14V-234 IN MAY OF 2014 AND TO DATE HAS NO RESOLUTION, OR ANTICIPATED DATE, OF HAVING REPAIR PARTS TO REPLACE THE FAULTY SWITCHES. WHILE THE SWITCH HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT OVER NINE MONTHS FOR A SIMPLE REPLACEMENT SWITCH TO ALLOW ME TO CONTINUE TO USE THE FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE FOR WHICH I PURCHASED. IF THEY WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS THEN I WILL NEVER BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN. *TR
