ALMOST IN ACCIDENT AFTER CAR WOULD NOT STOP PROPERLY. FOUND OUT THAT ALL 4 BRAKE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT UNDER 12,000 MILES. 3 INDEPENDENT AUTO MECHANICS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE LEVEL OF DAMAGE HAD TO BE FROM FACTORY AND NOT FROM NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED DAMAGE BUT DENIED FIXING UNDER WARRANTY AND REPAIRS HAD TO BE MADE AT OWNER EXPENSE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT REIMBURSE, AND IS DENYING PROBLEM EXISTED AND MY EXIST WITH OTHERS.
I WAS DRIVING UP HILL IN THE CITY OF MUSCATINE AND MY AUTOMOBILE STARTED ROARING AND ACCELERATING NEAR A STOP SIGN AND I COULD NOT GET THE AUTO TO STOP. I ENDED UP HITTING A CURB AND CRASHED INTO TWO TREES AND WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. THE AIRBAGS IN THE FRONT AND THE SIDE DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR WERE IMPACTED AND THE FRONT ALSO. THE CAR WAS STILL ROARING WHEN EMERGENCY PERSONAL ARRIVED TO ASSIST ME. THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE SEIZURES AND WAS TAKEN TO EMERGENCY ROOM AND ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. THE UPS DRIVER HEARD THE CAR ROARING AND ME CRASHING INTO THE TREES.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN CAR IS PARKED. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. A BAD LATCH THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. SINCE THIS HAPPENS IS IT NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD. ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE 4 MONTHS AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR THREE WEEKS. WHILE SHOPPING, PARKED IN THE GARAGE, JUST WHENEVER THE CAR IS IN PARK.
VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING OR IDLING. HAS HAPPEND ABOUT 8 TIMES IN LAST 4 MONTHS. HAVE TO COAST TO ROAD SIDE, PUT CARE IN PARK AND RESTART. ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, ELECTRICAL TURNS OFF FOR A SECOND.
THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM TPMS IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY, THE SYSTEM DOES NOT DETECT A LOW PRESSURE OR ZERO PSI EVENT OR WHEEL REMOVAL FOR ALL FOUR TIRES WHILE STATIONARY OR MOVING. THE SYSTEM CONSTANTLY REPORTS ALL TIRE PRESSURES ARE OK AND WITHOUT ANY FAULTS. CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE "NHTSA CAMPAIGN: 14V632000, TPMS LEFT IN TEST MODE" BUT FOR UNKNOWN REASONS MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE IS WITHIN RECALL MFG DATE OF APRIL 2014. BREAKS GET HARD IN UPHILL POSITION WHEN COLD
NO ACCIDENT YET, HAVE TWO RECALLS FOR THE SAME PROBELM, FIRST ONW JUN 2014 AND SECOND TWO WEEK AGO. NOW I AM TOLD IT WILL BE MAR 2016 BEFORE IT CAN BE CHECKED AGAIN OR REPAIRED. I TOOK THIS VEH TO THE DEALER 11 MONTHS AGO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRES, WIRING HARNESS, AND THE ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS SHORTED OUT WHEN THE FRONT SEATS WERE MOVED BACK AND FORTH. THE FAILURE OF THE WIRES BEING IMPACTED PREVENTED THE SEAT FROM MOVING. IN ADDITION, FRONT AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRES, WIRING HARNESS, AND ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS FOUR TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER (STEVE WHITE MOTORS INC, 3470 US HWY 70 SE, NEWTON, NC 28658, (828) 324-4410) FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE FAILURE AND TO REPLACE THE PARTS A FIFTH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION AND MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER REPAIR. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
bought the car new in 2014. after approximately a year, the passenger rear sliding door began to close randomly after opening, on several occasions pinning the passenger who was entering or leaving the vehicle between the door and the frame. the car was under warranty so i had it "repaired" at the dealer. after several months, the same random closings began to occur but less frequently. Most recently, the same door could not be locked leaving the car open to burglary. The dealer says its the door latch that needs replacing and is charging me $1,600 to "fix" it. Are these doors being investigated by your agency?

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE WEAR AND NEEDED TO BE ROTATED. THE TIRE WAS ROTATED. IN ADDITION, THE TIRE LEAKED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,579 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND IT WAS RAINING. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON BUT THEN STARTED ACTING FUNNY. THEY WERE GOING OFF THE SIDE OF MY CAR, GOING VERY SLOW, ONLY GOING 1/2 WAY. THEY WERE GOING SO HARD THAT I COULD FEEL IT IN MY BRAKES. MY WINDSHIELD BROKE AND THEY STOPPED WORKING. IT WAS RAINING SO HARD I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING AND HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE FUSE BLEW AND THAT THE LINKAGE WRAPPED AROUND SOMETHING AND BLEW THE MOTOR AND CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY SAID THAT IT WAS OUT OF MY WARRANTY PERIOD. THIS IS A 2014 THAT I JUST PURCHASED BRAND NEW LAST YEAR. I WORK AN HOUR AWAY SO MY CAR DOES HAVE 42K MILES BUT IT SHOULDN'T DO THIS. I HAVE A VIDEO OF WHAT MY WINDOW WIPERS WERE DOING WHEN THEY WERE ACTING FUNNY. THIS VIDEO SHOWS CLEARLY THERE WAS NO CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD AT THAT TIME.
CAR CUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. TOOK THE CAR TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY. THEY CHARGE THE BATTERY AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT START. THEN THEY SAID IT WAS THE TIPM, THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND 39 OTHER WAS WAITING ON THE PART ALSO. IT IS GOING TO BE $1,100.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE DRIFTED OFF AND CRASHED INTO TWO VEHICLES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,025.
REMOTE START SYSTEM STARTS UP ON IT'S OWN. VEHICLE WILL RUN FOR HOURS OR DAYS ON IT'S OWN. VEHICLE WILL START ON IT'S OWN WITH THE DOORS UNLOCKED OR OPEN. VEHICLE WILL START WITHOUT THE KEY ON MY PERSON OR NEAR THE VEHICLE. CANNOT GET AN EXPLANATION FROM A DEALER, NOR AN ANTICIPATED RESOLUTION.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
ON AUGUST 7TH, 2015 I WAS DRIVING OUR 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY ON A HIGHWAY IN SPRINGFIELD, MO FROM TEXAS, WITH MY THREE CHILDREN WITH ME, GOING ABOUT 65 MPH, WHEN A CAR CUT IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES, THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. PRESSING ON THE BRAKES DID NOT SLOW THE VAN DOWN IN ANY WAY. I COULDN'T SWERVE TO THE LEFT BEING THERE WAS AN 18 WHEELER SO I WAS FORCED OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE & GRASS. TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER. WE EXPLAINED TO DEALER THAT CHRYSLER HAS BEEN THE ONLY PEOPLE TO SERVICE OUR BRAKES, INCLUDING BRAKE FLUID. MY HUSBAND NEVER OPENED THE BRAKE RESERVOIR AT ANYTIME BEING WE HAD ALWAYS HAD IT SERVICED AT CHRYSLER. HE DID HOWEVER CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL ONE WEEK PRIOR TO OUR OUT OF STATE TRIP. DURING THESE FEW DAYS WE WERE GOING BETWEEN THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE AND THE DEALER. AFTER WE TOLD THE DEALER OF OUR SELF- OIL CHANGE OF ONLY ENGINE OIL, SUDDENLY ABOUT 3 HOURS LATER, THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE REP INFORMED US THAT THE DEALER HAD TOLD THEM, THAT SOMEHOW THE BRAKE OIL BECAME CONTAMINATED AND IT HAD TO HAVE HAPPENED IN THE LAST 7 DAYS. CHRYSLER REFUSED TO COVER COSTS UNDER WARRANTY, THEY FOUND THEIR WAY OUT OF PAYING FOR THEIR BRAKE FAILURE.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHEN THE DRIVER ENTERED THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN THE VEHICLE, KEEPING HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AS THE VEHICLE STARTED, THE WIPERS CAME ON AT HIGH SPEED WITHOUT HAVING BEEN TURNED ON AT THE TIME OR PREVIOUSLY. AT THE SAME TIME, THE ENGINE REVVED AND BEGAN TO ACCELERATE IN REVERSE DESPITE BEING IN PARK WITH THE DRIVER'S FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS OPEN AND CRASHED AGAINST THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE DOOR, EJECTING THE DRIVER WHO HAD NOT EVEN HAD TIME TO PUT HER ON SEAT BELT. THE VAN CONTINUED TO REVERSE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WHERE IT COMPLETED (ALMOST) A 180 DEGREE TURN. THE VAN FINALLY CAME TO A STOP ROLLING UP AGAINST A SIDEWALK CURB WITH A COUPLE MORE ENGINE REVS. A PERSON OTHER THAN THE DRIVER WAS THE FIRST TO THE VEHICLE AFTER IT CAME TO A STOP. HE NOTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. HE SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF BY PRESSING THE IGNITION BUTTON. THE OWNER OF THE VAN AND DRIVER ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE VEHICLE'S AND THEIR SAFETY AFTER HAVING EXPERIENCED THIS INCIDENT. *TT

I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A WATER PUDDLE ON A TWO LANE CITY STREET WHEN THE BACKWASH OF WATER FROM A TRUCK IN FRONT ENTERED MY ENGINE THROUGH THE AIR INTAKE DUCTING AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP (HYDROLOCKED) DISABLING MY CAR AND LEAVING IT INOPERABLE. THIS IMMOBILE SITUATION EXPOSED MY WIFE AND I TO A POSSIBLE COLLISION AS CARS PASSED US. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED FROM THE SITE. LATER EVALUATION BY A LOCAL MANUFACTURER'S DEALER REVEALED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND NEEDED REPLACED WITH AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR OF $9,280. I BELIEVE THIS INCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY DESIGN WHERE THE ENGINE AIR INTAKE DUCT OPENING IS TOO CLOSE TO GROUND LEVEL. THE CONSUMERS COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE COVERAGE COVERED THE DAMAGED AND ADVISED THE DEALER, TO LOCATE A USED ENGINE. AFTER THE ENGINE WAS INSTALLED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. IT WAS DETERMINED THE STARTER ALSO HAD WATER DAMAGED AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. UPDATED 11/17/15. *JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT OPEN; HOWEVER, THE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (AUTO PARK CHRYSLER JEEP, 400 AUTOPARK BLVD, CARY, NC 27511, (844)-825-1780) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REBOOTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A WARRANTY FOR THE POWER TRAIN FOR 100,000 MILES. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,200. *TT
HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THIS PAST SATURDAY. HAD MY ARMS FULL; GRANDCHILD, 2 DIAPER BAGS, PURSE, KEYS. VAN WAS LOCKED. STARTED VAN WITH AUTO STARTER. OPENED BOTH BACK DOORS OF T AND C WITH KEY FAUB. SET BAGS IN BACK. PUT KEY ON FRONT SEAT. PUT BABY IN CAR SEAT. CLOSED DOOR WITH BUTTON ON VAN. WENT TO GET IN CAR AND CAR WAS STILL LOCKED. THANK GOD I STARTED THE CAR. IT WAS 89 DEGREES OUT. SON HAD TO DRIVE TO MY HOUSE AND GET SPARE KEY. CAR SHUT OFF, (RUNS FOR 15 MINUTES WHEN STARTED WITH THE CAR STARTER), BEFORE MY SON GOT BACK, BABY WAS INSIDE. THANK GOD MY SON CAME 30 SECONDS LATER. THIS IS A FEATURE THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. I STILL CAN'T SHAKE THE FEELING THAT I ALMOST CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE HARM TO MY GRANDSON. FRONT DOORS SHOULD UNLOCK WHEN YOU OPEN THE BACK DOORS. I TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR MY MISTAKE. PLEASE MAKE CHRYSLER TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR YOUR DESIGN FLAW.
MY TOWN AND COUNTRY HAS THE POWER FOLDING THIRD ROW SEATS. MY KIDS AND I WERE SITTING IN THOSE SEATS ON JULY 4TH FOR THE FIREWORKS SHOW. I WAS SHIFTING IN THE SEAT WHEN MY KNEE ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THE SEAT FOLD BUTTON WHICH STARTED COLLAPSING THE THIRD ROW SEATS ON MY 2 KIDS AND I. IF MY KIDS HAD NOT JUMPED UP IN TIME, THE SEATS WOULD NOT HAVE STOPPED BEFORE CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. I STAYED IN THE SEAT TO SEE IF I COULD STOP IT SOMEHOW, BUT THE BUTTONS DIDN'T STOP THE PROCESS. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO FORCE THE SEAT TO STOP WITH MY BACK, BUT I HAD TO USE A LOT MORE FORCE THAN MY KIDS COULD EVER HAVE DONE. THE SEATS HAVE ENOUGH FORCE TO SERIOUSLY INJURE A CHILD. THIS IS CLEARLY A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AS THE BUTTONS ARE IN A LOCATION THAT CAN BE ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED EASILY. ALSO, IF KIDS ARE IN THE BACK OF THE VAN AND ARE PLAYING AROUND, THEY COULD EASILY REACH AND PLAY WITH THE BUTTONS WHILE SITTING IN THE BACK. A SIMPLE BUTTON COVER OR CHILD LOCKOUT SWITCH WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VAN IS ADVERTISED WITH THE PURPOSE OF USING THE REAR SEATS AS A TAIL-GATE ALTERNATIVE, BUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE MAKES THAT A DANGEROUS SOLUTION.

IN ADDITION, A BLACK PANEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY WHILE BEING OPERATED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NEW HOLLAND AUTO GROUP (508 W MAIN ST, NEW HOLLAND, PA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER REGARDING THE OTHER FAILURE WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT A PANEL DID DETACH AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED REGARDING THE PANEL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,400.

AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T TURN OFF ON DASHBOARD. DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE LIGHT WAS DEACTIVATED ONE DAY, WHEREAS IT WAS TURNED OFF, BUT THE NEXT DAY AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT HAS BEEN ON CONSTANTLY SINCE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL LEAD TO MORE SERIOUS ISSUES RESULTING IN BODILY HARM.
WHEN I PURCHASED THE MINIVAN IN MARCH 2015, THE AIRBAG LIGHT APPEARED WITHIN HOURS OF PURCHASE AND DRIVING OFF THE LOT. THE DEALERSHIP HAD ME BRING THE MINIVAN BACK AND THEY INSPECTED IT. THE ONLY EXPLANATION GIVEN WAS THAT IT NEEDED TO BE RESET. NOW IN JUNE' 4 MONTHS LATER AND STILL WITHIN WARRANTY, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE ECON GAS SAVER, WHEN USED SHIFTS THE VAN AUTOMATICALLY, HOWEVER, NOW IT SEEMS THAT EVEN IF I DON'T USE THE ECON GAS SAVER IT SHIFTS AUTOMATICALLY. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND IT DOWNSHIFTED AUTOMATICALLY. I PURCHASED THE USED MINIVAN WITH 34,000 MILES. I NOW HAVE 44,000 MILES. IT'S WITHIN THE 60 MONTH PERIOD AND 75,000 MILEAGE WARRANTY I PURCHASED FOR AN EXTRA 3000, BUT WHEN I WENT TO CHRYSLER THEY SENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VAN AND WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE BACK TO CHRYSLER BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE I HAVE SAFETY RECALL ISSUES AND THOSE ARE COVERED BY CHRYSLER.. SO BUMMED THAT THE FAMILY VAN IS A NICELY PACKAGED LEMON.........
HEADLIGHTS & WIPERS STARTED COMING ON AT THE SAME TIME AND I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THEM. THE WIPERS WOULD SAY ON FOR ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES AND HEADLIGHTS WOULD STAY ON FOR ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES. NEXT THE RADIO WOULD FREEZE UP. THEN THE PUSH BUTTON START WOULD NOT ALWAYS WORK THE FIRST TIME, HAD TO REPEAT IT A FEW TIMES TO START. NEXT ALARMS WOULD GO OFF IN THE CAR, WITH NO SYMBOLS ON THE DASH. THEN THE POWER 3RD ROW SEAT WOULD MOVE FORWARD AND REVERS WITH MY GRANDSON SITTING IN THE SEAT. CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, TOO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS GOING ON!
THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. IT BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER, SHAKE, AND SPUTTER. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CUT OFF AT THE SPEED OF 43MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 5/16/15, THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A CODE THAT INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE AND THAT THEY HAD CLEARED IT. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE PROBLEMS RESUMED. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INDICATED THAT THEY ASKED IF I WAS AWARE THAT THEY NEEDED TO "TAKE THE ENGINE A PART"? I STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO DO WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO FIX MY VEHICLE. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ALSO INDICATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT BECAUSE I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY I SHOULD BE COVERED. I AM UNCLEAR AS TO WHY I WOULD HAVE ENGINE PROBLEMS IN A VEHICLE AT 57K MILES, THIS SHOULD ALSO BE A POWER TRAIN ISSUE WHICH WOULD MEAN THAT MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED FOR 100K MILES. CURRENTLY I AM STILL WAITING ON THE DEALERSHIP TO CONTACT ME REGARDING THE STATUS OF MY VEHICLE HOWEVER I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I AM HAVING THESE PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION FOR THREE DAYS.
WE PURCHASED OUR NEW 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINI VAN FROM OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER WITH TWO DEFECTIVE OUTBOARD REAR SEAT HEADRESTS. THE OUTBOARD ATTACHMENT OF THE STEEL HORSESHOE SHAPED ATTACHING ROD TO THE SEAT FRAME IS BROKEN. RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER AFTER WE DISCOVERED THIS CONDITION FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIRS ON MAY 4, 2015. WE HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO A SERVICE DEPARTMENT BACKLOG. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE SEAT ON MAY 6, 2015 AND CONTACTED US TO TELL US THAT WE HAD DONE SOMETHING TO THE SEAT TO CAUSE THE HEADREST RODS TO BREAK. WE TOLD THE DEALER THAT WE DISAGREED AND WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DISCUSS THERE FINDINGS. THERE IS NO VISUAL DAMAGE TO THE SEAT OR THE HEADREST, THE SEAT IS NEW, LOOK LIKE IT DID WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. WE ALSO WAS TOLD THAT WE MUST HAVE DAMAGED THE HEADREST WHEN WE RAISED THE SEAT FROM THE SEAT WELL IN THE FLOOR TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. OUR SERVICE ADVISOR MR. RASHON PERRY GOT HIS SERVICE MANAGER AND WE DISCUSSED THE DAMAGE TO THE SEAT AND HE TAKEN SOME DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE TO THE SEAT AND TOLD US THAT HE WOULD SUBMIT THEM TO CHRYSLER FOR REVIEW AND GET BACK TO US IN 2 TO 3 DAYS. DID NO HAPPENED. CALLED DEALERSHIP ON MAY 14, 2015 AND ASKED OUR SERVICE ADVISOR MR. PERRY FOR AND UPDATE, NEVER ANSWERED THE PAGE FROM THE FRONT DESK. ASKED TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THE SERVICE MANAGERS (JOHN ?) AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS ANSWERING MACHINE ASKING FOR AN UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF REPAIRING OUR SEAT. NO RETURN CALL TO DATE. WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD THAT REQUIRES THE HEADREST TO PREVENT A PASSENGERS HEAD FROM WHIPLASHING DURING A 35 MPH REAR OR FRONT CRASH. CHRYSLER COULD HAVE OTHER VEHICLE IN THE PUBLICS HANDS WITH THESE DEFECTIVES SEATS HEADREST. WE NEED HELP IN GETTING THIS VERY SERIOUS ISSUE ADDRESSED. PLEASE HELP US.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I DETECTED A BURNING SMELL. I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER MY LEGS. I LIFTED MY LEG AND SAW A GLOWING HEATING COIL IN THE SEAT. I STARTED FEELING A WEIRDNESS IN MY BRAKES WHEN I WENT TO STOP NORMALLY AT STOP SIGNS, WHEN COMING UP TO CARS & STOP LIGHTS, AND JUST BASIC BRAKING WHILE TURNING INTO PARKING LOTS, DRIVEWAYS, ETC. NO SLAMMING OF BRAKES JUST NORMAL BRAKING. THE BRAKES SEEM TO START BRAKING THEN THEY HAVE A SLIP SLIP FEELIN, LIKE IT IS GIVING OUT AND THEN CATCHING AGAIN. THEY FOUND ITS NOT THE ABS KICKING IN ALSO. I THOUGHT AT ONE POINT I WASN'T PRESSING DOWN ENOUGH SO I TRIED PRESSING HARDER TO MAKE SURE IT WAS PRESSED DOWN ENOUGH AND IT STILL CONTINUES TO DO THIS. I HAD OTHER PEOPLE DRIVE MY CAR AND THEY ALSO FELT THIS SLIP SLIP OF THE BRAKES WHEN STOPPING. IT USED TO BE ONCE IN A WHILE BUT NOW IT IS CONSTANT. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE SHOP FOR THIS ISSUE AT 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS 2 TIMES EACH PLACE TOTAL OF 4 TIMES NOW. NOTHING IS DONE. THEY SAY THEY ARE FINE. BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I AM AFRAID THAT THEY WILL JUST NOT STOP US AND NOT BRAKE THE CAR WHEN WE STOP AND WE WILL END UP IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
