TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS USING THE KEYLESS ENTRY, THE VEHICLE'S DOORS AND LIFTGATE FAILED TO OPEN AND CLOSE. ADDITIONALLY, THE MANUAL BUTTON HAD TO BE PUSHED FOUR TIMES BEFORE THE DOORS OPENED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORMANDIN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT (900 CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136, (408) 266-9500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 586519, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
CRUISE CONTROL PERIODICALLY WILL NOT TURN ON AND NOT SET.
I WAS DRIVING TO THE POST OFFICE AND AS I WAS GETTING CLOSE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT, GOING UP ON THE CURB AND SIDEWALK, BARELY MISSED A TELEPHONE POLE, CRASHING INTO A UTILITY BOX. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED, NO INJURIES RECEIVED, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TRAVEL SPEED WAS AT POSTED LIMIT OF 35. WHEN MY SON GOT THERE HE SAID THAT IT LOOKED AS IF THE 2 TIRES ON THE RIGHT HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND GONE FLAT, ALMOST AS IF THEY HAD RUN OVER SHARP OBJECTS, CAUSING THE VAN TO SUDDENLY VEER RIGHT

THE CONTACT CALLED STATE LINE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF KANSAS CITY (1001 W 104TH ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64114) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN), WHICH HE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE AND LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
BOTH SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. THEY FOUND THAT THE LEFT SIDE ACTUATOR WAS JAMMED AND THE RIGHT SIDE WAS GRINDING. THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL - NOT EVEN MANUALLY. THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. NO ONE COULD GET OUT OF THE VAN WITHOUT CLIMBING ONTO THE FRONT OR OUT THE BACK HATCH. *TR
MY STEERING CONTROLS DO NOT WORK. THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS DONT WORK AND CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. THE CONTROLS FOR THE SPEEDOMETER FOR DIGITAL USE DO NOT WORK. THERE IS ONLY 36000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE PART TO FIX IS UNAVAILABLE. THE QUESTION IS WHY NO RECALL WHEN U CANT ORDER THE PART SO OBVIOUSLY EVERYONE IS HAVING AN ISSUE AND THIS NOT WORKING COULD HAVE PREVENTED 2 ACCIDENTS THAT HAVE OCCURRED HAD THE HORN WORKED LIKE IT SHOULD.
IT RANDOMLY STARTING MAKING A WHINNING NOISE ON THE WAY HOME FROM SON BASKETBALL PRACTICE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THAT NIGHT AND SCHEDULED TO BE SEEN BY A MECHANIC NEXT MORNING. ON THE WAY TO MECHANIC SHOP IT THE RPM S WAS REVING HIGH AND BARELY WANTING TO GO . THE CHECK ENGINE FINALLY COMES ON WITHIN 5 MIN FROM THE MECHANIC SHOP . IF HAD BEEN ON INTERSTATE MY FAMILY WOULD'VE BEEN NOT SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME.THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED TRANSMISSION PUMP BLEW UP AND WE NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 85 K MILES ON IT . VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CHRYSLER TO SAY THE LEAST.
THE LOCKS FAILED ON OUR SLIDING DOORS AND FAILED IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THE LOCK CANNOT BE OPERATED MANUALLY. THE DOORS ARE STUCK LOCKED AND PASSENGERS ARE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS PASSENGERS CANNOT ESCAPE THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
MY GRANDPARENTS WERE COMING HOME FROM IL MONDAY NIGHT. MY GRANDFATHER DROVE STRAIGHT OFF A TURN AND HIT THE DITCH INTO SOME TREES. IT HAD A FRONTAL/ROLL OVER. MY GRANDFATHER (DRIVER) RECEIVED FACE FRACTURES, BUSTED RIB CAGE, AND A BROKEN LEG. HE IS CURRENTLY IN ICU. GRANDMOTHER WAS IN THE BACK LAYING DOWN FROM JUST HAVING BACK SURGERY. SHE HAD A COUPLE FRACTURED RIBS. THE AIRBAGS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASH DID NOT GO OFF. THE SIDE CURTAIN AND SEAT AIRBAGS DID GO OFF.

THE DEALER WANTED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH ONLY THE PUMP MALFUNCTIONED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,525.
BOUGHT 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VAN AT HILLSBORO CHRYLSER JEEP IN NH 4/12/17 -ODOMETER READING 19,152. BROUGHT VAN BACK 9/24/18 DUE TO SHIFTING ABNORMALITIES & RUMBLE STRIP TYPE ISSUE WHEN DRIVING WITH JUST OVER 41,000 MILES. CHRIS WEARE SAID DIAGNOSTICS DIDN'T SHOW THE PROBLEM BUT THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPGRADE TO CORRECT IT. WE LEFT & CAME BACK - THE ISSUE REAPPEARED IN FRONT OF DEALERSHIP. WE TOLD CHRIS W ISSUE WAS UNRESOLVED. CHRIS SAID DRIVE IT 100 MILES FOR THE VEHICLE TO RE-LEARN CORRECT SHIFTING PATTERN. DROVE 100+ MILES & IT STILL LURCHES FORWARD WHEN SHIFTING - ESP AROUND 40 MPH, WITH 2-1/4 RPMS, THEN IT FLIES OVER 3 RPMS & QUICKLY DROPS TO 1K RPM. IT HAPPENS AT OTHER SPEEDS BUT NOT AS OFTEN. ALSO ENGINE REVS AND RECEDES SEVERAL TIMES CLIMBING HILLS. 10/1/18 7:30 APPT AT HILLSBORO CHRYSLER TO RE-CHECK RUMBLE STRIP EFFECT & SHIFTING ISSUE AFTER DRIVING 100+ MILES SINCE LAST VISIT. SAW CHRIS W & GOT LOANER VEHICLE. RETURNED 2 HOURS LATER & WAS TOLD THEY DID A SOFTWARE RESET, & THE VAN NEEDED TO RE-LEARN OUR DRIVING HABITS, & TO DRIVE IT ANOTHER 200 MILES & THE PROBLEM SHOULD RESOLVE. WE WEREN'T ASKED TO SIGN PAPERWORK DURING EXCEPT FOR THE LOANER CAR. MILEAGE WAS 41,562. 10/4/18 - CALLED HILLSBORO CHRYSLER. SPOKE WITH CHRIS W - PROBLEM HASN'T RESOLVED & WE'VE DRIVEN 200+ MILES. MILEAGE IS 41,871. DURING THIS PHONE CONVERSATION, CHRIS SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE NO ERROR MESSAGES COME UP WHEN THEY HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER - SAID THEIR COMPUTER IS NOT DETECTING ANY PROBLEMS AND HE SAID TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT TILL LIGHTS COME ON OR ENGINE FAILS. HE SAID IF THAT HAPPENS, CALL CHRYSLER FOR TOWING, AS IT IS COVERED UNDER THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. VAN HAS 41,871 MILES ON IT & CONTINUES TO SHIFT ROUGHLY & REV & RECEDE MANY TIMES GOING UPHILL, & THERE ARE STILL MANY TIMES WHEN IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE DRIVING ON RUMBLE STRIPS.
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS FAILED. THE FIRST TIME NOTHING WAS FOUND. THEY PUT IN "FREON". THE SECOND TIME THEY FOUND THAT IT WAS THE EVAPORATOR LEAKING.. WE ARE WAITING TO TAKE IT ON FOR THREE TIME. THE DEALERSHIPS HAVEN'T BEEN ALL THAT ACCOMMODATING. BEING WITHOUT AC IN FLORIDA IS A REAL BUMMER.
THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR SLIDE WILL NOT OPEN, UNLOCK OR OPEN FROM OUTSIDE, INSIDE OR BY THE BUTTONS.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND CAUSING UNEXPECTED DECELERATION. (LOUD WHINING NOISE FROM THE TRANS MODULE AREA. MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE IN TRAFFIC ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL WHEN THE VEHICLE/VAN LOST POWER AND HIGH REVVED THE ENGINE DUE TO ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO A PARKING LOT TO AVOID COLLISION. IT APPEARS THERE ARE RECALLS DUE TO BAD HYDRAULIC PUMP IN TRANS BUT THE SOMEHOW MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. (RECALL S44/NHTSA 16V-461) I HAVE NO WAY OF VALIDATING THE PRODUCTION DATE OF MY VEHICLE. PLEASE COMPILE AND SEE IF OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THIS HAZARD. PERHAPS THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL MAKE DATES.
THE REAR AC EVAPORATOR BOX DEVELOPED A LEAK AT 60,100 MILES. R-134A IS AUDIBLY HISSING FROM ABOVE TXV WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING WITH AC ON. VISIBLE OIL COMING FROM TXV AREA. RUBBER RECTANGULAR SEALING DEVICE AROUND THE TXV HAS ROTTED/DETERIORATED. MANUFACTURE DATE OF VEHICLE PLACES VEHICLE AT 3 YEARS OLD AT TIME OF PART FAILURE.
I HAVE A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY CHRYSLER. AS I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE GOING ABOUT 50MPH, ON SEPT. 3, 2018, ON THE FEEDER ROAD ALONGSIDE THE FREEWAY, MY VAN STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THERE WAS A LOUD WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE VAN AND IT WOULD NOT SPEED UP WHEN I WOULD PRESS THE GAS. I WAS ABLE TO TURN ON TO THE STREET OF MY RESIDENCE BECAUSE I WAS NOT FAR. I HAD TO PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS TO MAKE IT HOME ONLY GOING ABOUT 3-5MPH. THIS WAS VERY SCARY FOR ME BECAUSE MY SON WAS IN THE CAR AND OTHER CARS WERE ALMOST ABOUT TO HIT ME FROM BEHIND. I ONLY HAVE 69044 MILES ON THE VAN AND I MAINTAIN MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VAN THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM. THE TECH SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS THIRSTY FOR FLUID IN THE GEARS AND IT HAD BURNED UP ON THE INSIDE. HE SAID THAT THERE WAS NO TRAUMA OR DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND NO LEAK FOUND. MY VAN SHOULD'VE BEEN ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN NOVEMBER 2015 WHICH FALLS IN THE TIME FRAME AS THE VANS THAT MADE THE RECALL LIST AND MY COMPLAINT IS IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:16V461000)ISSUED ON JUNE 24, 2016. I TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VAN AND MADE SURE ALL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES WERE KEPT. THIS IS A 3700.00 PROBLEM THAT I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO PAY. THIS IS NOT FROM NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR NOR IS IT FROM NEGLECT. THIS IS A RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OR ERROR. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS CONCERN AS I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM.
THE HILL HOLDER BRAKE FEATURE DISENGAGES WHEN THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPENED. THE CAR WAS ON AN INCLINE FACING UP AT A STAND STILL. DO NOT KNOW IF THE SAME WILL HAPPEN IN THE REAR SEAT WHERE CHILDREN MAY JUMP OUT THINKING THE CAR IS STOPPED AND SECURE.
THREE DIFFERENT TIMES THE GAS PEDAL., ON FULL ACCELERATION HAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR. LAST TIME WAS ON 31 AUGUST WHEN PULLED OUT OF THE LEE COUNTY FLORIDA VA CLINIC WHICH IS ON A CORNER AND TRAFFIC WAS DOING 15-20 MPH ABOVE THE 35 MPH LIMIT. U WAS IN LEFT LANE OF 4 LANE ROAD AND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT RELEASE, AFTER STOMPING ON IT 3-4 TIMES AND AFTER CARS HAD PASSED ME ON THE RIGHT, I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND WAS, THE ENGINE WAS RACING FULL THROTTLE, ABLE TO PULL OF THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER WHERE I AGAIN STOMPED COUPLE TIMES AND IT WOULD NOT RELEASE SO I SHUT IT OFF BEFORE THE ENGINE BLEW UP. AFTER I SHUT IT OFF, THE GAS PEDDLE DID RELEASE AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT BACK TO OUR RESIDENCE. I HAVE SINCE NOT PUT THE GAS PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AS THIS HAD HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOFFMAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (301-733-5000, LOCATED AT 171 S EDGEWOOD DR, HAGERSTOWN, MD 21740) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PUMP WENT OUT IN THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,552.
SLIDING REAR PASSENGER DOORS CLOSED AND PERMANTELY LOCKED. DOOR MANUAL LOCK WILL NOT MOVE AND ALL ELECTRIAL DOOR OPEN SWITCHES WILL NOT OPEN DOOR. MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASHPANEL TO "UNLOCK DOOR TO OPERATE". ONE FAILURE OCCURED ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO AND THE LEFT SIDE DOOR FAILED SUNDAY AUGUST 26. HAD MOVED VEHICLE FROM ONE PARKING AREA TO ANOTHER SHORT DISTANCE AND TRIED TO OPEN DOOR WITHOUT SUCCESS AND WITH SAME MESSAGE ON DASHPANEL. HAVE NO WAY TO REMOVE PASSENGERS FROM REAR OF VEHICLE EXCEPT THROUGH REAR LIFT HATCH IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. DOORS HAVE NO WAY TO OPERATE MANUALLY. HAVE CONTACTED 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND BOTH KEEP SAYING DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED. BUT NO WAY TO OPERATE MANUALLY WHEN LOCKED? TO US 70+ YEAR OLDS THIS IS VERY ALARMING
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WITH THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER BUILT INTO IT BROKE. THE CENTER CLASP WHICH HOLDS IT IN PLACE, HAS SPRONG. THEREFORE, IT FALLS DOWN.
THE DOOR LOCKS TO THE SLIDING DOOR FOR THE DRIVER SIDE HAS PERMANENTLY LOCKED IS SELF AND IT CANNOT BE MANUALLY UP-LOCKED. THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AND THERE IS NOT KEY HOLE TO EVEN ALLOW ME TO TRY A KEY TO UNLOCK IT. ALSO THE PASSENGER SIDE APPEARS TO START GOING OUT SO SOON I WILL HAVE 2 DOORS THAT DON'T OPEN AND POTENTIALLY COULD TRAP ANYONE IN THE BACK OF THE CAR.
AFTER ENGAGING CRUISE CONTROL, THE VAN CONTINUES TO GAIN SPEED UNTIL THE CRUISE CONTROL IS TURNED OFF.

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FULL OF METAL SHAVINGS. NEWCASTLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM VIPER (573 US-1, NEWCASTLE, ME 04553, (207) 563-8138) AGREED WITH THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND STATED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $5,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIWAY AND THEN HEADING HOME ON BACK ROADS WHEN THETRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED ON ITS OWN WITH A LOUD WHINING SOUND INTO 1ST OR 2ND GEAR WHILE CRUISING AROUND 45 MPH THEN IT CAME TO A STOP , I WAS ONLY A FEW MINUTES FROM HOME AND WAS ABLE TO LIMP IT HOME AROUND 5MPH VERY SCARY SITUATION, COULD OF LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND POSSIBLY CAUSING A CRASH ,TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY SAID TRANS IS JUNK , VAN IS A 2016 ONLY HAS 61600 MILES ! THEY SHOULD RECALL THIS TRANSMISSION! I COULD OF BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOME ONE IF IT OF HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY ! CHRYSLER TELLS ME IT'S OUT OF IT' 60000 MILE WARRANTY !
WHILE CLEANING VAN IN MAY 2018 THERE WERE SEVERAL PAINT BUBBLES FOUND ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE HOOD ABOVE BOTH HEADLIGHTS. ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO FCA AMERICA AND TAKEN TO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. AS OF MARCH 2019 PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED DESPITE BEING COVERED UNDER CHRYSLER RUST/PERFORATION WARRANTY.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
MY WIFE WAS PARKED AT A GAS STATION 5 MILES FROM OUR HOME AND ALL OUTLETS AND LIGHTS BEGAN BILLOWING SMOKE INTO THE CABIN. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THEY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RURAL ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE GAS TANK WAS ONLY 3 MILES FROM FULL AFTER JUST HAVING FILLED THE TANK, AND NO ELECTRICAL LIGHTS OR SENSORS INDICATED ANY ISSUES. I WAS ABLE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AND RESTART THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT, WHICH WAS ADVANTAGEOUS AS I HAD MY THREE YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS OTHERWISE. THIS HAPPENED ONLY ONE TIME, AND HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. I DID NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP OR REPAIR SHOP, OR REPORT IT TO ANYONE OTHER THAN MY HUSBAND AND FAMILY.
TAKATA RECALL I TYPED MY VALID VIN NUMBER JUST AS DIRECTED ON THIS SITE TO SEE IF IT WAS SUBJECT TO RECALL. HOWEVER, I GOT A MESSAGE THAT THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT VALID. IT IS VALID!!! I ALSO TRIED CHECKING MY VIN NUMBER ON AIRBAGRECALL.COM, BUT IT WASN'T FOUND THERE EITHER. I CAREFULLY COPIED MY VIN DIRECTLY FROM MY STATE OF INDIANA TITLE AND ENTERED IT SEVERAL TIMES ON EACH SITE TO NO AVAIL.
THE SEAT BELT WONT STAY LOCKED
THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY ON THE POWER SLIDING DOOR JAMS. THE DOOR IS UNABLE TO BE OPENED MANUALLY OR ELECTRICALLY. BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY IN EXITING THE VEHICLE QUICKLY IN AN EMERGENCY.
ON AUGUST 15, 2017, WHILE DRIVING UP A HIGHWAY INCLINE, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT ABOUT AN EIGTH MILE AWAY SO I ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COAST, FORCEABLY STEERING IT THROUGH A SLIGHT CURVE AND THEN BRAKING. WHEN I STOPPED, I PUT THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO PARK AND THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER THE NEXT MORNING. THEY STATED THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AND UNLESS IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING IT THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO KNOW WHAT HAD OCCURRED OR WHAT WAS WRONG. THIS HAS NOT OCCURED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS ABOUT 14 MONTHS OLD AT THE TIME AND HAD ROUGHLY 15,000 MILES ON IT.

TAKATA RECALL: I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY LESS THEN A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. I HAVE HAD 2 MAJOR PARTS BREAK IN MY REAR END. THE FIRST ONE WAS THE CONTROL ARM AND THE SECOND ONE WAS THE AXLE BEAM WHICH NEITHER ONE ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS DRIVING WHEN BOTH OF THEM WENT OUT! I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT SINCE I'VE PURCHASED 3 VEHICLES FROM CHRYSLER THEY WILL NOT COVER THE EXPENSE. THIS AXLE BEAM BROKE WHILE I HAD MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN WHICH ARE 5 AND 3 IN THE VAN WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AT 20MPH. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO INFORMED ME I HAVE AN OIL LEAK ON THE TOP OF MY MOTOR WHICH IS COVERED, BUT I HAVE TO PAY 100.00 FOR THEM TO FIX. WITH THAT BEING SAID I'M HIGHLY DISGUSTED WITH CHRYSLER AND WILL NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!
WE HAD JUST TURNED INTO OUR SUBDIVISION AND ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH ILLUMINATED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON AND THEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. WE WERE TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED SO WHEN THE VAN CAME TO A STOP WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART IT. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SOUND TO CONCERNED AND ARE GOING TO LOOK AT THE VAN ON THURSDAY. I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR RESPONSE AS THIS COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR WHEN IT WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED.

WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT ON A 4 LANE ROAD MY VAN MONITORS FLICKERED WENT OFF THEN BACK ON AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO BREAK AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I PUT THE VAN IN PARK STARTED STARTED THE VAN STARTED FINE BUT WHEN I PUT THE VAN IN DRIVE THE MONITORS FLICKERED RESET AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF AGAIN. I THEN PUT THE VAN IN PARK TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AGAIN PUT ON MY HAZARD FLASHERS AND STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE VAN PERFORMED NORMALLY.
"TAKATA RECALL"... I BOUGHT 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK & IT'S HAVE 27,500 MILES ON IT. SINCE I START DRIVING THIS CAR IT'S HAVING AN ISSUE WITH SHIFTING THE GEARS. THE RPM GOES UP TO 4000 TO 5000 RPM & THEN IT'S START SHIFTING THE GEARS ALSO WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR ON HIGHWAY AND PUT CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL THE RPM STAYS NEAR BY 3000 TO 4000RPM. WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR IT'S NEVER TAKE QUICK PICK IT'S ALWAYS TAKE LONG TIME FOR PICK THE SPEED AND THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAKE SOME HEAVY NOISE. I TOOK THE CAR AT CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP & AS PER THEM THERE IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL BUT SERIOUSLY I'M NOT SURE THEY CHECKED MY CAR PROPERLY OR NOT. AS PER ME THE GEAR IS NOT SHIFTING SMOOTHLY & QUICKLY AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. *TR
ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON, TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER CEASED TO WORK EVEN THOUGH THE MOTOR KEPT ON RUNNING. CAR WAS TOWED TO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. A WEEK LATER THEY TOLD ME THE RADIO SHORTED OUT AND THIS CAUSED THE DASH LIGHTS TO MALFUNCTION. THE RADIO WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT REOCCURRED YET.
THE "SERVICE TIRE" WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATES AND THE INFORMATION CENTER DOES NOT HAVE AN AIR PRESSURE READING FOR THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE WARNING ACTIVATES AFTER DRIVING FOR SOME MILES AND THEN GOES OFF WITHIN TWO MINUTES. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE SENSOR IS WORKING AND THERE ARE NO "CODES" TO CHECK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A MONTH. TIRE PRESSURE IS FINE.
VEHICLE HAS HAD REPEATED ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AND SHIFTING GEARS SINCE PURCHASE. VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 40 MPH WHILE DRIVING AND RPMS REDLINE. IT HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIR FOR OVER 40 DAYS SINCE MARCH 2016 AND IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP. MOST RECENTLY THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE PROPERLY, AFTER BEING IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. DURING THE LAST TWO INCIDENTS, NO WARNING LIGHTS HAVE ILLUMINATED, NOR HAVE THERE BEEN ANY FAULT CODES FOUND IN THE VEHICLE'S SYSTEM. THE VAN IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE, AND IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND THREE YOUNG CHILDREN - AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. I HAVE REQUESTED ARBITRATION UNDER NEW YORK STATE'S LEMON LAW AND I HAVE ATTACHED A COPY OF PAPERWORK RECENTLY SUBMITTED. THE PDF DESCRIBES, IN GREATER DETAIL, THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS CHRYSLER'S REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO SERVICE IT WITHOUT SUCCESS.
